SHOUT OUT!To the owner of,Belvidere Auto Maintenance320 West Locust,Don Barnes! After getting a routine service cost estimate from a dealer. I thought Id get a second opinion. Don discovered that not only was the dealer cost crazy high, it wasnt needed at all. Ill never be back to that dealer. Its very comforting to know there is a business owner who places integrity & honesty over the dollar bill. I highly recommend you stop in and see Don for any of your auto needs! Hes a straight shooter!
I’ve used Belvidere Auto Maintenance for years. Prices are reasonable and I receive my vehicles back promptly. One time I heard a strange whining noise from my truck and Don just topped off the power steering fluid and gave me my keys back free of charge. Thats the kind of auto work with integrity that keeps me coming back.
Save your time, Theres better maintenance shops around.
I just asked if they would use customer parts because I had already bought them and without hesitation he said I dont want the job and hung up. I would have let them buy their own. I was just hoping to save a few bucks on a $600 dollar job. I will gladly take my busniess elsewhere and will share my experience with other customers looking to get work done here. Im guessing the owner took the call so he is probably just a POS, and people wonder why small businesses are closing shop. Its because of people like that.
Theyre very quick
Great service at an unbeatable price! Thanks again!
Prompt & fair pricing. Will return without hesitation
Might be adequate for routine maintenance, but I strongly recommend avoiding for big jobs. After two misdiagnoses They replaced the engine. there was a fire under the hood three days after the car was picked up. This was caused by a short circuit in the alternator plug. First, my son was told the alternator bearings were bad and the heat had caused the fire. When we ran the car with no heat or vibration on the alternator we were told that the bearings were bad when they checked it. The discussion ended with the proprietor telling us that if we did not have 100% proof that the plug was damaged in his shop that he was under no obligation to work with us on the alternator replacement. After showing the car to another auto tech we were told that we had been overcharged for the engine replacement by about $1500.
We were very satisfied with the work done on our vehicle, it was done in a timely fashion with friendly and knowledgeable staff, and at a good price.
