Need nuts & bolts. This is Superior to Big stores
Prices are going up like everywhere but great service. Very helpful. Highly recommend for help, service and advice.
Very knowledgeable staff and a lot of parts on hand. However a 3% fee on all card transactions is very steep. Other businesses are able to survive with a $5 minimum or 50 cent flat fee. I just paid almost $8 in debit card fees on a $278 purchase. Thats just not necessary
Is great friendly service almost always have what you need
Bought an Ariens zero turn mower from here. Ernie and Trent were very helpful and I got a good price on a great machine. Definitely put this place on your list of small engine sales.
These guys are amazing and helpful and give great advice to a girl who is just starting to use a chainsaw. they gave me some great tips on how to stay safe, recommended a helmet for protection and gave great reasons why that would be a good idea for a newbie! 5 stars!! I love to shop local and these guys will always get my business!
An awesome experience with well knowledgeable staff makes a great experience even better than
Bad service and felt ignored when asking about a chainsaw repair. Definitely going to find better service than here
The owner lied to me three times about when my items would be done. They had them for almost two months and never called me once and then tried to change me a fee. Never will go back again. They still have my saw and trimmer. What a RIP off.
Didnt have what I needed they dont sell the items you would normally find in a hardware store
Knowledgeable and friendly people. Great products.
Great experience. My new hardware store!
Ernie and his employees are always helpful and courteous
Best place for small engine need
Home town treasure of knowledge. Keys made are perfect
Such a nice man behind the counter. He was very busy but so polite to everyone. It was a joy to go in there.
Is still a great hardware
IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO GET THE TOOLS THAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
Trent, Ernie, and the crew will take care of your needs.
Very helpful staff. Erie is the man. Trent hooked me up with my new Gravely mower and set me up for after hours pick up.
Very friendly and knowledgeable
They had unique things I needed!
Great place for all your hardware needs, best place in town for key copies.
None better! Ernie, Trevor, and Keith are servants to the customer. They will take the time you need to feel comfortable with your knowledge and purchase. Respectful, knowledgeable, communication and commitment to do what is right, even if that means turning me away from an $1800 sale because of my disabilities from my service. State Street is looking to create long to customers who eventually become family and not a short term $ buck. Will not go anywhere else for my hardware needs or repair!
I love hardware stores and this one is no exception. I needed 2 keys made and the gentleman made one and had me try it before making another.(smart). It didnt work so he filed off the rough edges and we were in business. He made another and I was off to the races, so to speak. The store itself is an old building with lots of character and lots of hardware to find.
Dropped off a Gravely that was under warranty because blades wouldn’t engage. Never heard a word form the store for 2 weeks. Went to check on it and he’s charging me $150 for a drive belt ($90 for the belt and $60 labor). No heads up. No calls. No nothing. Just a “that’ll be $149”. To add insult to injury, the bushings that are a warranty item haven’t been changed and are on backorder. Now Belts may not be a warranty part but I got the belt back and other than a couple scuffs there was nothing WRONG WITH IT. . It could of been put back on.When I said I should of been called before they did this the grumpy owner said “well then you should of diagnosed it yourself! It’s a tough situation because I would still have pay the mechanics wages and taxes”.Last time I checked that’s why you buy and expensive mower with a warranty so you don’t have to work on it yourself except routine maintenance.Ive spent my last dollar there. Will be selling this and getting a Spartan from burnips.
Wow! What a makeover and I Love to hate it because of the old hardware store feel. But it was needed and looks great! The guys at State Street Hardware are beyond expectation. Zach, Trent, Keith and Ernie are integrity, knowledge and wisdom rapped in a team of service providers.
You could not ask for a better hardware store in engine repair
Very good people! A lot of product knowledge. Excellent service!. Jim actual customer
I just had the best experience at State Street Hardware. I was sent over there from Lowes because I wanted a car key duplicated and Lowes couldnt find a match. I found this little hardware store, and the guys working there are SO helpful and kind! They were able to make the key I needed, and when I went out to make sure the key worked alright, the other gentleman working noticed my headlight was out. Without hesitation, he got me a bulb and replaced it for me before I could even ask any questions. It was so nice to see nice people still exist! Highly recommend this place!
Very helpful and friendly

Awesome hometown hardware store! Ernie is a Great guy that knows his business!
Very accommodating good people
Less hardware now, but big on anything with a small engine. I had a mixup on keys they made for me, and they cheerfully refunded my money.
I looked up local dealers that dealt with Ariens lawn mowers. This place was listed. Last week I went in bounced some ideas about what to troubleshoot on my Ariens lawn mower. One of the staff members was knowledgeable in what to look for. I came back the following week. Wanting to pick up aa ignition switch for the lawn mower brought model and serial number in that was stamped on the lawn mower. Was waited by a different staff personal and got the runaround. No help at all. I can order the part online with the model and serial number. But needed the part asap. Had to go elsewhere. Very dissatisfied.
