I recently went in with a friend (23 years old) who has a valid, unexpired vertical ID and they refused to sell us the bottle of wine that we were trying to purchase. I understand the need for caution when it comes to alcohol sales, but denying a purchase simply due to the orientation of a valid form of identification is overkill. Save yourself the potential hassle and go to across the street to Willow Springs
I’m not a fan of this place they’ll close the door in your face and stuff and have no respect for their customers.
This place has easily become my go-to local liquor store. I moved near the area about 2-years ago and I have nearly become a regular here. While the liquor store has a smaller feel to it, the selection is amazing! I am a beer person and I am always impressed with the craft selection they carry. Alongside that, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Ive hardly ever seen any employee turnover there, which I think speaks to the nature of how well this liquor store is run. Stay local and buy here!
I actually work there but believe me I was on the other side of the counter before I was behind it. There is a great selection of just about anything you want if not Nick who is part owner and pretty much runs the place besides all the many awesome employees there, he will bend over backwards to see if he can get in something we dont have for you if possible. Just a great place, good selection 👌 and great prices. Be sure to sign up on our email list 👍 we do not give out any of your information just send you our awesome weekly deals and you can always opt out of getting them at any time. Hope to see you at what I think is the best stop for your liquor shopping oh and good snack meats and 🧀 s!
Ya know, there’s one real cool dude who works at this store. Their wine and beer selection is pretty decent. That said, you can’t even step anywhere near the register without someone asking for your ID before saying hello or allowing you to set your items down. Today, my partner and I were purchasing separately, so I had nowhere to set my stuff down and the dude is asking for my ID. Even though I had nothing to do with my boyfriend’s purchase. It’s OBNOXIOUS. I will avoid this place completely and pay higher prices elsewhere. Maybe try saying hello and letting your customer set down there several hundred dollar purchase before jumping on them about the ID.
Cigarettes too expensive almost $10 per pack
Unbelievably huge selection. A temple to alcohol
Easy parking is good. But prices are pricey, PLUS NOT POSTED. Maybe Boulderites are used to having their wallets pillaged. Im not. I will not be going back here. Also, Ventilation seemed to not be great, or safe. They also tacked me for my email address. Two weeks later now, i havent heard back yet.
The employees are super nice and the weekly specials are amazing! And its nice to support a local shop instead of the bag brand. Conveniently located right next to Safeway and the also awesome cheesesteak shop.
It has what you want. Probably.
Great selection of craft beers.
Clean & nice. Thats boulder for u. ;)
Great staff!
The young man who was working on 9/17/2020 at 6 pm was super rude. Took one look at my ID and shook his head. I had someone from out of state visiting and upon looking at his ID he completely changed his demeanor and started acting like an asshat.
The selection is vast. Have found excellent wines on sale! Beer selection is really good as well. Make sure you bring an ID, as even if they know you, they will card you. They have a little cracker, cheese, and sausage case as well, which are excellent offerings!
Nice and clean... wear a mask for sure or you shall not pass. Nice selections.
Beer selection here is top notch, as is the rosé. Try the Sticks Pale Ale from Bootstrap Brewing. #2020beerofthesummer
Nice store, not the biggest but they have always had more than enough of the right selection for me. The staff seems really friendly also. And the prices were a little lower than average for a non Warehouse liquor store.
Their standard prices are a bit high but always running great sales.
Good selection of wine and liquor, and friendly staff.
Great selection. Eady in and out
Nicely laid out. Everything was easy to find. Prices are good. I went in looking for Anchor Steam beer and I found it.
Great location for alcohol. They have a weekly ad that you can get on the email list for. Deals every week. Fair prices and good help!
Pretentious staff refused to sell me a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel proof when I asked if they carried the brand. He assumed I didnt want it and said they didnt have any stock despite just saying there was a bottle in the back. After he floundered, I asked again if they have some. He said, lets say no. I am confused and angered by this interaction.
For what looks like a no-frills liquor store, BWS has an excellent selection of wine, beer, and whiskey. Very competitive prices and knowledgeable staff. Leaps and bounds better than the place across the street.
Did not accept out of state ID. Were rude and I was denied service. Very frustrating.
Helpful, friendly and good prices
Love is liquor store. Behind HAZELS, its my second favorite in town. They always have several beers and whiskeys on special at a nice discount!
They had a great selection HOWEVER...I am an out of state resident living in Boulder for a few months and I recently turned 21. When I went to the counter I was told they would not accept my I.D. because it had the red bar that stated I was not 21 until a certain date (that date being 2 months earlier to this incident). The cashier acknowledged that my I.D. was valid and not a fake but that it was a store policy to not accept these I.D.s.Just an FYI to anyone with the same kind of valid I.D. to not even waste your time.
I like their great collection of craft beers in large-size containers.
Selection is OK, organization and staff knowledge mediocre.Their wine deals are a little difficult to figure out. Nearly everything is on sale, so getting a dozen wine bottles to get a discount for a case is kind of challenging (contrast with Liquormart)
I was told I wasnt allowed into the store after spending money there earlier. I wasnt given a reason except that, it came from upstairs. I cant correct my behavior, if I dont know what Im doing wrong. GREAT customer service guys!
Its a nice store with good selection. However, I went in today with my daughter in tow, and was not allowed to make a purchase because my daughter did not have ID. I dont believe there is a law requiring this ID check on my daughter. If she were an infant I am certain I would have been allowed to purchase. Anywho just didnt like how it was handled, wont b back.
Ok...i went in and got some alcohol officer.i didnt drink it in my car i drank it at a buddys house.then we got in the car!duhh.im not having an open container in my car..no way man! the officer laughs, pats me on the back and says..your free to go! then i woke up.it was all a dream.i was actually passed out on my bean bag😆 cheers🍻
Always a lovely bunch... AND THEY HAVE ICE CREAM :)
Go to Hazels lol staff is pretty unfriendly
Awesome people, good prices, look for the beer of the week and other specials
Good selection and good prices. Friendly staff too. I use them regularly.
Best staff you could possibly ask for.
Liquor needs are met at this place
Great staff and selection. My go to for a great suggestion.
Good but not extensive selection of wines.
Great selection
Great selection of wine and beer. Good prices too. My only complaint is that the wine is very disorganized - the regions are all over the place.
Best liquor store in Boulder!! Best wine prices in Colorado
Great service and great selection. Not as large as the big stores but the selection they do have always has some pleasant new surprises.
Best wine, beer and spirits in boulder! Great selection, good everyday prices and fantastic sales for folks on their mailing list.
Way overpriced, but convenient. Go to Hazels.
This is my favorite neighborhood liquor store. The selection is great, theres always something on sale, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Best cider selection in Boulder. I just wish they stocked more.
Huge place, great varieties and friendly stuff.
Great selection of local beer. Friendly, helpful staff
Dont shop unless wish a mask and they dont take cash.
Been shopping here for over 10 years; great 👍 prices and customer service.
The beer selection is really weak. A decent enough little liquor store if you are local, but nothing to try and find if you dont live close.
Expensive but definitely a one stop shop to find anything you could ever want.
Wide variety and great prices. Its my go to spot!
Its the best place in town to get exclusive wines, spirits, and beers
Best staff ever and great deals.
Great service and local beer recommendations from friendly folks!
Had been a customer since its opening but will be going on down to Hazels from now on.Last night as I was leaving, two employees evicted someone from the store, which is their right, but they then angrily followed him down the sidewalk shouting and threatening to pummel him. As things continued to escalate, and not wanting to see a fight break out, I called down to them and said Enough is enough. You guys break it up! whereupon the two, who kept saying they were the owners, left the guy and came storming back and proceeded to threaten to kick my ass as well.In response I said I no longer wanted to do business and asked to cancel my transaction, they again threatened to beat the crap out of me, said I was never getting my money back, and not to come back. Of course, after that immature display, I wasnt planning to, ever. There are many good locally owned stores, Boulder Wine & Spirits isnt one of them.
Its convenient and a good value
Great place with great people.
Cashier very polite and welcoming.
Great place for a wine.
Helpful staff and decent prices.
Love them! Great prices!
A store for drunks.
Absolutely wont shop here - stuck up rude staff, irresponsible ownership.
Great selection and prices!
This place is sometimes fishy... Ive seen them sell without proof of ID multiple times. Would not trust this place, especially for their high prices
This place has a decent selection. Withstanding that the reason I gave it 2 out of 5 stars is for the following: I like to find good beers on sale; I like value. In the cooler my first choice was the Abita Purple Haze with a clear price tag lunder with its name and the price of $6.99. I took it up to the register and it was $10.49. Ok, i can see one mistake being made. So I grabbed some Steimper german beer with its name clearly on the label under it and a price of $5.99. i take this 2nd 6-pack to the register, and its price is $9.99. Th dude at the register quipped that I was batting a thousand. The other beer dude said it was another brand of Steimper that was $5.99, but he was either ignorrant or lying because that was the only one there. If you know about false advertising and want to bring a lawsuit vs the obviousness of the false advertising here, this is certainly the place.
Very friendly, helpful, and Make good suggestions.
This place is a gem for fairly priced wine.
My fav liquor store in Btown
Cool booze and prices
Great selection and friendly, helpful folks.
Decent selection and quick checkout
Great prices.
