I’ve rented trailers from this location on multiple occasions and they are always professional, offer quick service, have an extensive inventory of trailers and packing supplies, and are incredibly helpful.Today I woke up to a blown fuse in my car that powered the lights to a trailer I had rented yesterday at a different location. I stopped by and Andrew and Josh fixed me up in no time and were so nice!I highly recommend this location!
Jason exemplifies what it means to be in customer service. I called multiple shops for a hitch install and all said they had a 3+ week waiting period. I spoke with Jason and instead of saying no, he said hed call another shop to see if they had the hitch I needed as hed be able to squeeze me in for an install this week but they didnt have the part. He spoke with the other U-Haul and coordinated the part pick up so I could get the hitch installed before our road trip.Thank you, Jason, for going the extra step in tracking down a part and scheduling an install!
DO NOT GO HERE FOR PROPANE!! THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ITS DANGEROUS. The guy didnt know he needed to open the release valve first. He mumbled under his breath. Asked him to repeat, he did not. Was VERY RUDE. Didnt know when the tank was full and tried to say something was wrong with the release valve. We left and went to the Shell Station on the corner of 55th & Arapahoe. Great service from Shell, Shell attendant had no issue with the release valve, and it took less than 2 min.
Horrible. Uhaul filled the propane tank on my RV. Then I drove to Shell on Arapahoe and they put another 2.5 gallons in my tank. 🤔Uhaul emploee was hard to understand, he mumbled. Did hear him say I guess the rules dont apply to everybody but I have no idea what he was talking about. He started pumping propane before opening the air valve, then couldnt get the air valve open. When he finished I asked if the tank was full or did he stop because he couldnt open the air vent. His reply, yes. I asked a second time, same answer. Went to Shell to finish filling up, they had no problems doing what Uhaul couldnt.
Customer disservice at its finest, dont go, dont waste your time, dont wast your money, they have provided the worst experience Ive ever had while moving, and I have done so 23 times! The quality of service and the competence of staff made me question weather I had unwittingly died and landed in purgatory or possibly some sort of simulation meant to reproduce the most frustrating annoying experience a human can endure without losing their mind and giving in to insanity brought on my hold music, incompetent staff and managers not willing to call back when promises are made of returning your call. Yes, it does appear uhaul has developed a brilliant system for customers who are interested in not getting anything promised, having their complaints ignored, dealing with clueless staff and paying for it.
Avoid this place at all costs. One day before I was to load up my U-box on site I stop in to buy a lock and some tape and to ask where the box will be the next day. They said they don’t have any and that it won’t be there and that they moved my reservation to a place in Denver. The manager (don’t know the name) said he called me and left a message. 1) I never received a call and 2) I don’t even have voicemail on my phone. When I told him that he just walked into the back room. Pathetic. After being on the phone with UHAUL customer service for over two hours, talking to multiple people in multiple states I was finally able to talk to a scheduling person from Colorado who moved it from Denver to Dacono. Still out of the way but totally worth it. Kathy at the Dacono place has more professionalism in her pinky toe than this entire place. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!!
Not only did they have what i had reserved online ..but when we got there..JOSHUA was all about customer service and helped my husband with a better tow dolly and proceeded to find a better price...Go here for great customer service..which is hard to find these days....thanks again joshua
Needed a vehicle to transport a couch. Could rent one hour before closing, and I managed to be back in time to bring it back. Staff was very friendly, and did not mind me bringing the vehicle back around closing time. Great folks!
Quick, professional service. Good answers from the staff. Really appreciated the time Andrew spent with me answering questions about the one-way rental process.
They did not have the truck I needed available, they chose not to inform me of this, and I had to call to find out. I reserved a week in advance and when I called the day before my big move day, they told me that the truck was in Grand Junction. They did get me into a different truck, however are forcing me to return it to the same location when I am moving out of town. It completely has messed up my moving day. Pick another company.
Reserved online. Check-in with staff on day of pickup was smooth and efficient. Showroom was clean and organized. Truck was clean and maintained based on maintenance stickers.
I don’t know why these guys are chilling at 3 stars, we had an awesome experience here. Thanks again for the help!
Beware! Uhaul is deceptive—reserving a truck or trailer doesnt guarantee youll actually have that vehicle when you want.I reserved a truck with a tow dolly to move with, only to be called the day before my move and told that they did not have anything I reserved. After hours on the phone, no tow dolly. Uhauls deceptiveness completely derailed my life, making me change all my plans.Read through the reviews—Uhaul seems to be operating on a business model where customers schedule their lives around a moving vehicle, and when everything changes, customers are left with no choice but to tap their own networks of friends and family to accommodate Uhaul.
Watch out for trailer hitch install appointments scheduled online! You may, like me, have a receipt that says, your trailer hitch will be installed at [time] on [date]. They dont really mean it. Your appointment is a really just a dropoff time. This means you could wait for hours until its actually done.If you want to buy a trailer hitch and install from these folks, talk to the people AT THE STORE (and not their call center, which is worthless) to figure out what the real process and timing is; *dont do it online*.Saving this review from being one-star, the in-store staff were polite and helpful.
Fast service and friendly. They initially forgot to provide an essential part for a trailer install but upon returning they got the part and installed it for me. It was clear it was a simple mistake more than anything and they just wanted to make it right. Thanks for your help guys!
THANKS JACOB YOURE THE MAN!
I watched a Real Housewife of Boulder County berate the employees at this location for no other reason than her poor planning. She was well out of line and aggressively posturing while the employees at this location listened and calmly explained the situation to her. Shout out to the people working here who kept their demeanor a lot cooler than I did with these terrible customers.
I arrived for a propane refill and made a comment to a man waiting to get his propane tanks refilled. The only man working was hitching a trailer onto a SUV beside the propane station. He said something nasty about he is the only one working and I told him no worrys. He finished with the trailer and then filled the two tanks for the customer who was in front of me. The working man walked past me twice without saying a word or telling me to wait inside in a long line. I dont need to be totally ignored when I am a customer and he couldve filled my tank at the same time he filled the other customers. I left with my empty tank and Ill spend my money elsewhere. I just read some reviews and it seems the owner/employees at this business dont have any education or idea what customer service is all about.
Superb customer service. We went in on a Sunday at one of the busiest times of the year (College move-in week) and the staff were helpful and friendly despite the rush. We didnt have a reservation, but they were willing to work with us to find a solution that worked great.
Unprofessional uhaul location. I showed up in person to make a reservation and was rushed out and asked to just make the reservation online. I did so, and then the pickup time and location was changed without confirming whether that would work for me. Completely going to have to change my move out/move in plans because they are unorganized and unhelpful.
Just to verify my credibility beforehand I am a doctor in Boulder. Uhaul has been a huge disappointment and waste of my valuable time, never use the ubox system or this uhaul location. The crew smoke weed before operating their heavy machinery and never know when a ubox is scheduled to be accessed, even though 24 hours notice is required from me...which I always give, then invariably they look and find that magically the request is in the system is there... The crew there are so high they cant do their jobs properly. I dont care if you smoke...provided you can do your very very very very very very simple job. They should all be fired... Uhaul disrupted my move by not having my ubox available the day I requested it (with 2 weeks notice) and shipped it to Denver instead... And for some reason they have no records of an objection aka customer complaint filed by me even though now I have done this 3 times! Ive wasted close to 3.5 hours on the phone with them and a manager hasnt returned my call twice now. Do right by me and get your sh*t togeather, ubox number ending 89E.
Reserved a trailer at this store for early tomorrow morning. Today I got a call from uhual of Longmont saying my reservation was moved there and that pickup time no earlier than 9:30. Thanks U-Haul for changing the res last minute, not cool, could have let me know sooner. Reservation doesn’t mean much i guess.
I really liked how they are quick and easy to work with. Theres always more than one person there which is awesome because I did not need to wait around while the same guy helping me at the computer had to check the truck. While one person is helping you at the computer, there are two guys outside checking the vehicle. If theres anything missing or out of place they will give you a chance to correct it so that they dont change you. These guys have a great sense of humor.
Stood inside for 20 minutes. Had to go outside to flag someone down to fill propane. Told me it would take an hour until he had time to fill despite no one else being there that needed help. In the three minutes he was on his phone doing nothing I could have been a happy customer with a full propane tank.
Poor customer service and their propane is not priced or shown. They offer a free gift with fill up but asked about it and was told it is a little blue cap they give to put on the nozzle of the tank. Didnt even get one! I will never fill a tank there again. Better local businesses to go to.
Had a positive experience reserving a truck and receiving information about storage. Looking forward to working with these guys during my move. - Post move comment: Everything went very smoothly and the staff was very nice and helpful!!
Worst Customer Service in the World- If I could give them a negative star I would ...All I needed to do is inform them that I would not be able to return the Truck until then next day that my daughter is sick in the Hospital and they transferred me 2 times...left me on hold for over 25 minutes and then the lady named Elisa who answered Yelled at me with a Sarcastic Ugly Tone and Hung up on me ....WOW!!!! Horrible...Horrible...Horrible Non human ...Lacking any form of Professionalism ...Absolutely Zero Compassionate. ...Robot with No Soul
All the guys there were very helpful and patient. Our order had been placed wrong and they kindly helped us get it straightened out as well as gave us a call before coming in to let us know the parking lot was iced over during the night. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping meet our needs and they made sure we didnt unknowingly tow more than our vehicle could handle.
Impossible to contact them over the phone and also impossible to edit reservations online. If you make an account they make you create a new password each time you sign in. Doesn’t make any sense
Ive rented from this location 5-6 times now. Have used the online reservation system each time without problem. The trucks have always been available as scheduled, with clean interior and all existing dents marked with stickers. The employees are friendly and worked hard to give prompt service even during busy times. Will definitely rent here again.
It was extremely easy! Thanks to David! Make sure to ask for him he made it the smoothest experience
They helped me figure out how many boxes and other supplies I needed for my move. Spent an hour and a half with me, patiently. Then they loaded everything in my car. Once we got some of the supplies in my car, I realized I wouldnt have room for everything, and they changed the order on the spot. I was pleasantly surprised!
If I could leave a 0 star review I would. They took from 1pm to 6pm to install a hitch on our van. They constantly lied saying it would not be much longer. After all that was said and done they wired the harness on the inside of the van. Not the outside. Rude employees and they were all dirty and did not care at all. GO TO rocky mounts instead. Lies lies lies. They just want your money and when your in they have you by the balls. Never going back.
When youre in the stressful process of moving, do you wish you could conduct business transactions with a sarcastic, dismissive, eye-rolling teenage boy? This is the place for you!The guy they have managing this place really seems to have a strong Im cranky that my parents grounded me vibe to him. I cant imagine a less appropriate hiring choice for U-Haul to make for a position that interacts with customers. On the other hand, the Budget across the street is great! Very friendly, honest, and much cheaper.
Wow. Last week I came to fill up propane and they made up a lightning siting on a normal gloomy day with ZERO lightning (I know because I was outside all day).Just dropped by today, and there’s a sign on the door that says “no propane until 1pm”. I arrived at 1pm.When I said I was there for propane, the guy irritably says “I don’t know if you read the sign, but there’s no propane.” And I say “Yeah, I read the sign, it says until 1pm.”I don’t think he even knew what the sign said, or what time it was, because he seemed surprised at me saying that. All the while, he made zero eye contact with me like I wasn’t even there.I said “no worries, I’ll take my business elsewhere”.This place is absolute crap— go somewhere else for propane.
These guys helped me out of a bind when Enterprise blew it on my reservation. They got me into a truck and trailer that worked, and since I had to make a 400 mile round-trip they re-wrote the reservation to save me a considerable amount of money. This is a busy place, but we were helped in a reasonable amount of time, and the husband and wife that run the place were both very friendly, professional, and pleasant to deal with. I would use them again.
Vehicle reservation for was not available. No solutions and representative Josh at this store, told me that I was lied to by the national call center yesterday.Had two of our staff showed up today to get a vehicle at 9 am. I called yesterday to confirm details and national call center, put me on hold and called this local branch to confirm a 9 am pickup for a 26 truck.. The local store confirmed per the national call center. I had two staff on the clock arrive today. The store did not have the vehicle. Our two staff were on the clock and being paid for waiting at the office. We were offered a 20 that most likely not fit our business supplies. We ended up calling another Uhaul store that had a vehicle in Broomfield after this store told us there was no vehicle there and are own our way there to get a vehicle.Very unprofessional, very poor customer service and a poor representative of a business in our community. As a business owner of multiple local entities, can not recommend this business.
The crew here is super patient and friendly. We had a wiring issue with the car, so unfortunately at first we couldnt rent our trailer until the wiring was fixed. The U-Haul guys referred us to a mechanic close by who were also very helpful and friendly. It took a long while to get our car fixed, so we went back over to the U-Haul to talk about getting the trailer since we NEEDED it right then and there. The guys here were so nice and went out of their way to stay after their work hours a few minutes so that we could pick up our trailer. I cant remember the name of the guy who mostly helped us out, but we felt that he genuinely was helping the best he possibly could. Thanks for the great service, you deserve five stars.
I came here today to buy moving supplies. I bought a few boxes and also got some free boxes from the returned but not sellable section. That was awesome, I probably saved $50. The two guys working were very helpful!
I called for a pickup in Boulder, was told 2 days later via text that the equipment was available in Denver. The customer service rep even assured me the equipment was available in Boulder - horrible customer service! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because when I called back, the scheduling specialist, Mary, was super friendly and accommodating to my requests, though she wasnt able to get the reservation to a more convenient location. Oh well, thats what you get when you have limited options in town.
I just want to say before I start that this has nothing to do with the renting side. This pertains to the hitch installation. I have had an appointment with this location for over 2 and a half weeks now. I have a 2016 Honda civic and wanted to get a hitch installed to pull a 5×8. They assured me multiple times that it would be no problem and we do this all the time. After arriving for the appointment the guy at the front desk said that the guy who installs the hitches is running late and should be here soon. I said no problem and left. At this point he is 10 min late to the 11 oclock appointment l. At 11:45 I get a call from the store. They person who is supposed to be installing the hitch says he is unable to do so. He claims hedosent have the proper drill bits after asking more questions I realize that he is literally making stuff up as he goes. I ask Have you ever installed a hitch on this make/model? He said yes. At this point I knew I didnt want my car in the hands of this person. He then said he also couldnt do it because he had other appointments. They have the proper drill bits at that location. They have all the parts necessary.I called all other locations to ask about it. All other locations laughed at this story, they couldnt understand why I would be turned away. Especially if they were capable of it. After asking around I believe and well as other locations believe that I was blatantly lied to. After my experience I believe that what actually happened was that the installation guy ran very late to work that day. And instead of telling the truth and owning up to it he made this up cancelled my appointment 45 min into it to save his other appointments. They could have just called me, told me the truth, and rescheduled. It would have been no problem. It is very disappointing that this happened. I feel as something like this has and will happen again at this location. Save yourself of a possible hassle like this and go somewhere else. If I am wrong uhal I genuinely apologize but I dont believe I am. I have talked to all the proper people at this point to reassure myself before writing this post.
Called and made a reservation for a truck, came in the next day to pick it up, and they didnt have my reservation. Called the other Boulder locations, and they didnt have my reservation either. Finally they found my reservation, and they scheduled me to pick up a truck in Walnut, CALIFORNIA! Why?? Makes no sense, then they just transferred me to the U-Haul nationwide customer service, where I was on hold for a solid 20 minutes. I wind up with no truck and a 3 hour waste of time.
Told me to leave the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it came with - I filled it literally to the exact level it came at, and then was charged $17 for EZ Fuel. Such a scam
Belligerent and fraudulent. I tried to ask questions about changes in their policy and they refused to answer, just repeating thats our policy over and over & adopting an angry tone / interface. Worse, they dont do a valid inspection of the car beforehand. They say they take pictures, but then never deliver them, so as a renter, you have no recourse; they could totally screw you over. Twice they promised to send me pictures, and they never did. Its more customer slavery here than customer service. They also double charged me for items. The van did run well, and the drop off was easy - but not worth it in the end.
These clowns got belligerent with us when we showed up a little bit late to pick up a truck. Pretty sure I gave them my card but not only did they rent the truck out from under us, THEY CHARGED ME OVER $1000 BUCKS! Buyer beware. Go somewhere else. Currently trying to get my money back.
I came here with a friend to help him move. It was a pretty painless experience to get a rental and inexpensive overall. If youre trying to move in a day and need a vehicle to get it done stop by U-haul and get it hauled in a day!
Tried to come to fill up propane twice, and neither time was successful. One time they were out (and couldnt tell me when they would be refilled) and the other time I called ahead to confirm availability and arrival, but when I got there the attendant said its too close to close and flat out refused, very rudely, to care or help me.Apparently, the main office that is the call center doesnt know about or communicate with the actual store at all. Attendants were beyond rude and incredibly frustrating. If you can avoid this location, save yourself the headache and frustration. Go somewhere else and dont support these careless jerks.
David and Dandi, a husband and wife management team, were there the day I was renting a truck at the last minute to move from Boulder to California, they were very helpful, efficient and made it happen at the last minute for me. If you have any issues I recommend speaking with them as they truly were very understanding, conscientious and gracious. Thank you!
I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life!!! I had a reservation and the day before I was supposed to pick the truck up, I was called and told they would not have one and I would have to pick it up at another location. I then received another call saying they would not have a truck for me at all. I was on the phone for over two hours trying to get something resolved since I had movers scheduled the next day and was hung up on six times. Their solution, drive to Estes Park to pick up the truck. The compensation they offered would not have even covered mileage, let alone gas. NEVER USE THIS LOCATION!!! THEY ARE RUDE AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS!!!!!!!! HOW YOU STAY IN BUSINESS LIKE THIS IS BEYOND ME!! NEVER USE U-HAUL!!!!!!!!!!!
They actually care and go through absolutely everything! Ther two young guys who helped us on Sunday were amazing! They need to be paid a lot more! They run this place and run it well!
Heres a doozy of a story. Although there are lots of reviews stating the incompetence of Frank Muse (the GM), I would just like to go out of my way and tell how great of a job he did regarding my Uhaul experience.I was trying to get a hitch installed on my car. No biggie. I scheduled an appointment over the phone, and proceeded to show up on the appointed day. After a few hours, the hitch install was done. However, I noticed that the hitch itself was crooked. The person installing it stated that this was a manufacturing defect, and referred me to Frank. After talking with Frank, he scheduled another identical hitch to be shipped to the store and installed, with rush shipping (worth $50!). However, this hitch was also crooked, with a manufacturing defect. As a last resort, Frank ordered one last hitch - an older model (again, with rush shipping). This time Frank himself installed it. Although this time it worked out well with no manufacturing defects, it was simply not compatible with my uses. After all this trouble and labor, Frank refunded me the full cost of my purchase, including labor. Frank worked with me hard and tried to get things right. I really appreciate that.
Came to pick up reservation and they gave it away to someone else before arrival severely disappointed.
Really really bad service. Waited for nearly 3 weeks for installing a hitch for our car, and eventually did NOT get it even with all the email and phone confirmations. The manager said I run this store, I know it if you wanna install the hitch, the parts will take longer to get here, and there is no other places that you can install it. We finally give up on them coz we are moving in a few days, we cannot wait. We get the hitch installed in time around Denver area. Avoid this place, please!
This business lies to their customers. I was told that my composite propane tank was illegal to fill. This is not true. Only tanks manufactured by the Lite Cylinder Company in Tenn. were recalled, not the Norwegian-made Ragasco tanks. The young man was rude about it as well, when I tried to inform him of the truth. Give your business to Boulder RV. They are informed and very pleasant.
They didnt give us the key for the back lock and we had to buy one on ourselves. Also, the right-side mirror was disoriented and our driver had to bend forward on the steering wheel to be able to use it.
Super helpful and nice people. Thanks for making my moving less stressful.
Wow. All I can say is Wow. Worst customer experience I have had in my 53 year life. I had a reservation for a truck to move my college age son. We had made the reservation two weeks in advance, with a credit card. Upon arriving at U haul on N. Broadway, I was informed that since I didnt claim my truck at 7:30 am, I forfeited my truck. ( I arrived at 8:45 and was never informed I could lose my reservation for this reason) Apparently the reservation meant absolutely nothing. We had reserved the truck for the day, I informed a most rude agent at the counter. We reserved it with a credit card, and now my son has no way to move his stuff, which is going to end up on the curb. The attendant offered no sympathy or solution whatsoever, and told me basically to leave the store. I have never had such an experience, and I thought if you are considering using this U haul, or any U haul you should do so with the expectation that you will likely be screwed.
The one star reviews are correct. Save yourself the headache and avoid this headache like the plague. All uhaul locations are independently owned, so Uhaul customer service will not help you. Due to our experience with Frank and this location, we are turning it over to our attorneys. All rental truck companies have issues with inventory, but this guy goes out of his way to screw people. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Same story as previous poster, I called in and ordered a hitch and when I went to the store it wasnt there. I was even called about coming in for installation (twice) even though I explicitly told the rep I wasnt interested. So as to how they had the hitch for installation then it disappeared 2 days later is beyond me. The person working the desk couldnt have shown any less interest or offer any explanation.
Had a great experience with Frank and his team, they were patient with me as I needed extra time and made sure I didn’t get overcharged.
Ive never written a review but these guys deserve it. Went there twice in a day for long periods of time and watched all these angry people treat them awfully (plus they had to deal with a crackhead making no sense). They handled every situation professionally. Not only that but I came in an emergency needing everything from the hitch set up and wiring. The guys there totally hooked it up and helped with everything they could. The hitch master on duty was super helpful and did a great job.
Was told on the phone there was storage for an rv, but then got a completely different story when I arrived to check it out. Not friendly at all.
I used this location two days ago on Sunday. The crew were efficient and quite friendly. What more could you ask for?
Incredible Employees!!!My wife and I needed to pull a small trailer during our relocation to California. We contacted this uhaul, and they were willing to offer us a little pull-behind DESPITE the fact that they were in the middle of college move in craziness. I showed up to get the trailer, and the mechanic immediately recognized that my hitch had the wrong size ball on it, and my electrical system wasnt running the lights. He would have been well within his rights to send me off to get it fixed (and thus delaying our move by several days, and several hundred dollars). He could have then rented our pull-behind out to some in-town college kids several times over. Instead, he worked with me for an hour and a half to switch out the ball, and track down all the blown fuses. I was so impressed with this guys kindness, knowledge, and skills. I had just met him, but I could really tell that he wanted to make sure my wife and I were safe on our move across the country.Reading through some of these reviews, I cant help but feel that most of the issues are more with the reviewer than the reviewed. If you are the kind of person that gets so upset that you have to leave a bad review when you have issues filling your propane tank, then youre likely a bit hard to please. In regards to some other reviewers objections: It is true that you only have a short period to pick up a vehicle you reserve, the website informs you of that when you make a reservation. You can call and update them and they will keep your rental for you. I extended my pickup time twice. They just dont want to turn people who need trucks and trailers away when those trucks and trailers may not get picked up.I highly recommend this Uhaul! For the employees sake, just exercise some awareness when visiting. The people who work here often deal with entitled and irritating customers. Take a breath, be reasonable and pleasant, and they will help you to the best of their ability - which could be a really remarkable value for you.
Fast, friendly, but a little to expensive for what I needed. Ill shop around next time. As for this place though, they we great.
Unbelievable! They cancelled my appointment to install a hitch in my car 3 days before the date, explaining that they had some problems with the booking software.I would have expected that they offered an alternative, other location to install it, any solution... silly me.Horrible experience.
Such a scam! Reserved a 15’ truck for 12:30pm on a Saturday, confirmed by email AND text message multiple times the week prior to our move. Showed up at 12:15pm and they “didn’t have me scheduled until 6:30p tonight”. I showed the attendant the text and email confirmation, but he didn’t care (he obviously has this happen a lot). He “conveniently” had a 20’ truck available immediately, but for a higher cost. I tried to convince him to give me the price of my reservation, but to no avail. What am I going to do? I had a crew of people showing up to help us move in 30 minutes! I accepted and paid for the larger truck (SCAM!) and I will not be using U-Haul’s services again.
Worst customer experience ever. Order hitch install online 3 weeks ahead of time. Called ahead of time to confirm appt. It snowed 12 inches the morning of my install, so I called again to make sure they were ready and I should drive the 30+ minutes to the North Boulder location. Got there and they said just leave the keys and come back in 2 hours. Came back in two hours, no hitch. No apology, they said computer said the part was there, but it wasnt. The folks there suggested we schedule for one week later, so, I did (silly me). Tried to call ahead to confirm, but no answer. Showed up for appointment, Travis said just leave the keys... He was understaffed (just him) and rude. I asked that he check in the back for the hitch. And... wait for it... no hitch. Travis says hitch is in Arvada.Worst part about it was through this entire process, no one at U-Haul North Boulder said they were sorry, or showed any concern for the trouble they were causing. On the second attempt failure, Travis had the nerve to say the fault lay with Curt Manufacturing for sending the hitch to the wrong location. Its bad enough to screw up this badly. Its even worse to then try to dodge blame for what was clearly their screw-up.Called U-Haul national to try to get my money back. So far Ive been transferred twice and havent heard back yet. Like I said, worst customer experience ever.I ordered the same Curt hitch through Amazon, and Im just going to put it on myself. Im not thrilled about that, but it will be less trouble that dealing with the disaster called U-Haul.
Unbelievably bad service. I called 4 times over the course of 2 weeks, the person answering (who was different each time) took a message with my phone number each time and said they would give my message to Frank because he was currently busy. I did not receive a call-back a single time.
Nice, competent, staffed place. Lots of tools and towing gear sold on the spot. Opens early. Great place...
Returned the truck late and was subsequently charged but was not noted on any invoice or receipt. They called me multiple times around the time I was supposed to drop off the truck which was annoying to say the least. When I spoke to the manager about the $90 fee that was not documented on any of my paper work he was rude and ended up hanging up on me. I disputed it through my bank and ended up not having to pay the extra $90 since there was absolutely nothing documenting what the charge was for. THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF.
We had a trailer hitch installed at this UHaul location. Our original experience was less than ideal, HOWEVER, the follow-up solutions to resolve our issues were all resolved in an extremely professional, timely and courteous manner. We worked with Frank and he was extremely and effectively helpful in resolving our issues.Initial issues were that we were initially overcharged with labor over our quoted contract amount and the wiring on this initial install was not working one day after the install.Frank and his team contacted us to resolve these issues the very next day by refunding the over charge and fixing the wiring issue. Frank explained why the wiring was not working and how it was fixed, as well as explained and apologized for the over charge that they did refund in full.I would highly recommend using this UHaul location for any of your moving needs!
I was waiting at the door for the business to open, when a U-Haul rep backed up their van and almost hit me without and hesitation or warning. Now I was standing to the side of the door in the handicap space in front of the open light. Careless
Should have read the reviews before traveling to this store. Awful experience. The other reviewers are correct. The woman in the green shirt is rude and clearly hates her job. Awful customer service. The young man who helped me was as dumb as bricks. Find a other U-Haul outlet.
These people are awesome! They know what they are talking about and get everything right the first time, i know CSRs have a lot to deal with, but they do it well! I highly recomend this U-Haul
WORST service ever. The online reservation sent us to the wrong place. The first place we went doesnt ever have the size truck we reserved. The second one we went to told us they didnt have a truck when we walked in the door. They changed their minds shortly after and decided they did have a truck. Their service was slow. We were on a schedule and had to wait a significant amount of time before we could leave. The back door was frozen shut and was extremely difficult to open. We filled the truck up with gas to where they said we needed to before returning it. When we got there the kid said it was too low. We put a gallon more in to satisfy them. The kid said they would charge us a $23.50 fuel charge if we didnt go fill it up. The whole experience was miserable. We will never use U-Haul again.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received! After screwing up my reservation and blaming me for their mistakes they stole 100 dollar cash deposit from me. Avoid these idiots at all cost!
One star is too high a rating. I purchased a UHaul hitch for my sedan about a year ago. Traded the automobile and took the hitch with me for the new car. Called UHaul in Boulder for an appointment. It took ten days for someone to call me back to make an appointment. (Not sure why I could not set up an appointment through the general reservation number.) Showed up for my appointment and was told I needed a Bolt Kit. I was happy to pay for one. However, UHaul in Boulder indicated they would not order the kit, the customer must. Turned away, I return home to telephone UHauls 800 number to order the bolt kit. Customer Service does not know anything about bolt kits, the agent informs me that the store installing the hitch needs to order the kit. I am forwarded back to UHaul in Boulder only to be met with further resistance. Next step is to telephone UHauls fabrication department in Tempe AZ. I am assured my vehicle does not require a bolt kit to install the hitch. They also help set up an appointment for the hitch installation is in Arvada, CO. I show up on the appointed day and hour only to be turned away. According to Deanna Holland I do not have an appointment. She insists I need a Bolt kit for the hitch installation. ...I would have to think hard and deep to determine if I have met with this level of frustration. If ever there was a case for the Dumbing Down of America, one need not look any further than UHaul. They have cornered the market. ...Next step, I call Lambert Hitch in Denver. I speak with a knowledgeable woman named Cec, who schedules me two days later. I arrive, they put the hitch on. No drama. No waiting. Kindly note, Lambert put the hitch in less than 80 minutes, not the Six Hours UHaul Boulder claimed it would take, and charged 60% less. Need a moving box, go to UHAUL. Need a recreational hitch, an industrial hitch, or lighting, go to the professionals at Lambert! The best place for UHauls operation is in your rearview mirror.
Terrible U-Haul, avoid at all cost!Ive had problems every time Ive gone here. Recently, I was given the wrong pickup than what was documented on my contract, and they charged me for the difference in mileage on the truck I drove and the truck documented on the contract (about 350 miles) and the fuel difference. So a $40 pickup rental for 1 hour and 9.2 miles cost me $120 with no real refund in sight. To dispute the charge takes multiple phone calls plus a week to process. And somehow youll find yourself waiting to speak with an associate in the store when there is no one else there.
I asked for a 2 day rental. 8:30 am until 8:30 am 48 hours later. They asked for an approximate return time, I said 4ish the evening before it was due. The staff called and harassed me right after 4:00 about not being back on time, making a really stressful move in an ice storm much blue stressful. They charged extra and said that Id agreed to insurance that I specifically told them that I didnt want. Condescending staff (upon return). Would never use again.
I was in a bind with my uhaul reservation and wanted to extend it. Chris at Uhaul of Boulder was extremely helpful, patient, and resourceful with figuring out a solution to my problem the day before I needed the truck! Thank you so much for your great customer service!
Go here if you want the absolute worst service you can possibly get. Just dont use uhaul period. At the busiest time of year they were staffed with what seemed like 2 employees. We called ahead to make sure our storage box would be accessible upon our arrival. We were told it will be all set for you when you arrive! we showed up at the given time, waited 45 minutes in line, and then were casually told we wouldnt be able to access our box until 6 hours later. sorry, were busy we were told. We went back 6 hours later at the given time and of course our pod was still behind 4 others. Well quite frankly I did not pay over a grand to have my things shipped for someone to tell me they were too busy to have them made available to me. Its hilarious, really.
The people running the counter were the most patient people ever.
U-Haul of Boulder goes straight into the worst-of of Boulder. After standing out in the rain for fifteen minutes for someone to help me fill propane, the manager yells at me when I come inside for bringing in my empty propane canister. When I told him to not speak to me in the rude way he was, he told me to leave. Is a refill on my propane too much to ask?As a side note, I was the only customer in the store - the two uniformed U-Haul employees were in the corner of the store chatting, and didnt once ask if I needed help. Only when the manager came in from the back of the store was when he yelled at me for the propane tank and kicked me out.Boulder businesses are known for being kind, helpful, and compassionate to their customers. The U-Haul Boulder store seems to almost purposefully go against that image of Boulder. Hopefully they will relocate to an area that accepts businesses run in that manner, because they do not fit in here.
I bought large boxes from them today. I tried to return them on the same day because they were too big and they would not let me return them. Stay away from uHaul, their box buy back is a sham.
This place was terrible! After being transferred over there last minute from another UHaul location, I showed up at the arranged time to find that they didnt have a truck for me. After complaining and telling them there was no way to reschedule my move, they were able to find a smaller truck for us to use. The equipment itself was well maintained and in good shape. Upon returning the truck, they tried to charge me for 2 days even though I had it less than 24 hours. After asking for an itemized bill to look at, the guy went to get his manager. The manager was completely rude and accusatory when all I asked for was an itemized bill. Ill never do business with this location again. Worst customer service ever. Read the other reviews and believe it!!
THEY ARE CROOKS! I was charged over $400 for renting a truck for just one day! They never told me I couldnt drop it off at a nearby location and was charged an extra $300 for simply returning the truck to another U-Haul in the neighboring town. Fortunately, while writing this review they just called me back to let me know that they are going to give me a partial refund for the misunderstanding. Instead of 1 star, I will now give them 2 stars, since all of their customer service reps were not helpful and the Broomfield location manager was rude. Will I ever use U-Haul again? Maybe.
Absolutely terrible service. We had a reservation for 11am, they called and move it to 12pm. We showed up and they didn’t have anything for us but a pick-up truck for moving day.We had to move two beds, a couch, a dresser to name a few things. There was a huge truck in the back that I suggested they give us for the price of the van we reserved. The manager, Mike, was a huge ass-hole and didn’t help at all.We left. If you can help it use Budget or Penske.
You should avoid this location like the plague, especially while an employee named Michael works there. I had been looking at installing a trailer hitch on my wife’s car for some time, and found that U-Haul could do it for pretty cheap. So I purchased it online, and selected this location in North Boulder for install. Boy was that a mistake. I am usually a forgiving guy, but this was such a bad experience, I had to warn others.First, I scheduled the appointment online. Received a call the next day from an employee named Michael who said that he didn’t have that appointment time available, and that we needed to call and reschedule. This is fine, I know not every location has their appointments synced with the online one, so we called to reschedule, and spoke with Michael to set up a new time. A day or so later, Michael calls back and leaves a voicemail that our appointment time isn’t available, and that he “was moving us” to one later in the day. Then, when I looked up the new appointment details, and noticed that the $10 discount for paying online had been removed from the account. So I had to call and confirm the appointment, and go through the steps of getting the $10 removed. This time I spoke with Frank, who was nice and polite. He got us all settled, and mentioned that this was a 3 hour install. I’m glad he mentioned this, since my wife was planning to drive the car herself and go to a nearby coffee shop. The install day finally comes, and my wife and I drive her car to North Boulder (we live over in Firestone, this was the closest location). We check the car in with Frank, who gives us the OK to leave the keys with him, and even sells us on an additional mounting bracket for the wiring. After dropping it off, she had to drop me off in Broomfield, then back to our home in Firestone so she could have the car for errands. This is inconvenient, but not unexpected. Around 1:30 pm, Frank calls and says that the hitch we purchased doesn’t fit out model, and that he would have to use one that ran $90 higher. I imagine this isn’t his fault but rather a mistake on the U-Haul website which mismatched the model needed for my car, so I said it was alright. Around 4:30 pm, Michael calls and asks where my car is. The “appointment” was at 3:30, so he’s clearly been waiting around for a while. I’m surprised he didn’t take 5 minutes to look around the small lot for the car, or look in the computer system to see that it had been dropped off that morning. I told him that it was dropped off that morning, to which he replied “Oh, Okay. I will call you when it’s done.” At 6:30 pm, Michael calls me and says they are “having trouble” with the wiring, and that it won’t be done until tomorrow. Great. I wonder if that has anything to do with his hour of wondering where the car was. So another day of my wife dropping me off and picking me up in Broomfield from our house in Firestone. We pay for the increased price on the hitch, and are glad we are done with this place, especially with Michael, who rang us up while apparently beating his computer into submission.A few days pass and my wife mentioned that the hitch is rattling. I get back to take a look, and not only did they carve a giant hole in the underside, but they forgot to re-mount the exhaust system. It was just hanging there. Thank god she didn’t hit a big bump while driving, as she likely would have lost a big chunk. Since my wife needs the car to go to work, I have to spend my evening working on this. And of course, I had to uninstall and reinstall most of the hitch to access the areas where the exhaust mounting brackets attach. It was a real pain.TL;DR: After fumbling with my appointment time, and raising the price of the materials by $100, they had to keep the car overnight. After the install, I realize they un-mounted the exhaust system to mount the hitch onto the frame, and didn’t re-mount it. So I had to spend a few hours re-doing the whole install to mount the exhaust system properly. Glad we didn’t lose a muffler.
Endured one of the shittier days of my life at the hands of this UHaul location. Not that UHaul has ever demonstrated strong customer service in my 5 years of dealing with them for various small personal moves. I was given a trailer with a faulty hitch, so I couldnt get it off the hitchball of my truck. After no fewer than 4 phonecalls, the first offering promises of complementary roadside assistance to address the issue, I would later be told no, no actually that was wrong were not doing that. 2 work appointments cancelled later (2 hours), I get to Uhaul with the trailer and they dont believe me. Amusing. The next 30 minutes is a run-around, until finally I am believed and they agree to decommission this trailer and send me off with another one. But no, no discount because it could be my fault still, we just dont know whose equipment is the problem. A hitchball of the correct size, dripping with WD-40, and we still need a 4-tonne jack to get the thing off? F*** you, UHauls of the world. F*** you.
Worst company I have ever dealt with by far. I would I’ve negative stars if possible.
We scheduled a hitch to be put on for a Sunday at 10am. Showed up and the guy said your appointment is tomorrow at 11am! Pulled out the email confirmation and he didnt want to see it. He said I know it was scheduled for today but we dont do hitches on Sunday so we moved it to Monday. After banter we left only to return to purchase the hitch and install it ourselves. We called Monday to speak to the manager, as of Thursday we still couldnt get a return call so we called again. Manager said he personally called on Saturday and left a message telling us of the reschedule even though his employees said the manager did not work weekends. We had no missed calls or messages....hhmmmm. He offered us a free rental, lol, we have a hitch and trailer on a truck, what would we need to rent?!?!? How about an apology and not making excuses for a poorly ran store.
I was mis charged an additional $13. After I called and explained it to both the local branch and the customer service, they said it would be credited in 10 business days. After following up 3 weeks later, they show no record of our call or the credit. I then had to wait on the phone again. After some time working with the customer service rep, she said Id have to talk with a manager but a manager wasnt available. Or I could go to the local store but they wouldnt be able to make the change. Then she just hung up. Now, after speaking with yet another rep, Im waiting another 3 days for a manager to hopefully call me back. Not good customer service!
If I could use negative stars I would!! Worst customer service, extremely unorganized. No one could ever answer our questions. Uboxes were delayed FOR NO REASON! Called many locations in the Boulder/Longmont area. Everyone couldnt explain it was never anyones fault. WORST EXPERIENCE with moving. While it might be the most cost effective shipping method, you get what you pay for!!!
Super friendly staff fast shipping awesome service
Excellent, friendly service and super clean truck. Easy.
Efficient. Professional. Patient (with me and customers around me.)
STAY AWAY - DO NOT GO HERE! Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I made an appointment two weeks ago for 2:00 pm. today. At 10:00, someone from Uhaul called to tell me the hitch part wasnt in yet, so I need to move my appointment to next week. When I objected, he checked inventory and said the part actually was in stock, but not in their computer system, so I could go ahead and bring my car in for the 2:00 appointment. When I dropped the car off, the employee told me the car in front of mine would be finished in a few minutes, and mine would be ready in 90 minutes. At 4:00, I called to find out status, and the call forwarded to the central dispatch; the employee I spoke with told me she would have someone from the store call me. Five minutes later, I got a call from someone who told me theyd started on my car, theyd drilled the holes in the hitch, and the car would be ready in 45 minutes. At 5:00 I went to the shop . . . and saw that my car sitting exactly where I had parkect it earlier, completely untouched. The employees denied they had called me with the status update. The employee in charge told me I could wait until the car ahead of me was finished - maybe another hour. Neither he, the hitch installer, nor a third employee took any responsibility for the delay, and showed utter lack of concern for the mistakes they made and the misinformation I received.I called Uhauls main number to complain, and was told my appointment was for 5:00, not 2:00; apparently, they changed the time without informing me, and the employee I gave my key to at the 2:00 dropoff didnt tell me about any change. During the call, I was shuttled to three different customer service reps, the last of whom told me she would file an objection, and someone who could do something would get back to me in 5-7 days I left the shop after wasting more than three hours waiting for my car, and with no hitch to show for it.Clearly, the employees at this location dont know a thing about customer service, but worse, they simply do not care. Uhauls central operations and customer service are equally deplorable. Stay far away, and show them that bad business doesnt pay.
My boyfriend needed a hitch installed on his Subaru Baja. He called U-Haul (Arapahoe) and they recommended the North Boulder location. Boy, did we immensely regret that decision! We did everything we could to ensure this goes smoothly and timely and this turned out to be a nightmare... My boyfriend initially called the North Boulder location to start the process to get the hitch installed, was asked to just bring the truck in. He then asked me to bring it in since hed be at work. Just to be sure, I called them again, since I thought it was strange to not have to set an appointment to install a hitch. I was told the same thing when I called, just bring it in and they will install it. Well when I did bring the truck in (Apr 30), I had to wait in line for 45 mins just to be told that I needed to make an appointment and that the next available appointment was 1 week out (May 7)! I expressed frustration at that point already, saying why didnt the 2 previous U-Haul staff tell us that when we called, that could have saved us some time if all we needed is to set an appointment! Since I was there, I proceeded to give him the parts of the hitch I needed for the install, I asked to get hitch 2 and a wiring kit. I told the staff that the next time I bring the truck in, I need everything in place to get the hitch installed. On May 7, when I brought the truck in, I was told by Tony (manager) that the guy who set the initial appointment, DID NOT order the parts for the hitch install that I provided him initially. So the hitch could not be installed on May 7 as the parts werent there. By that time I was already pissed because I felt that they wasted my time. 2 futile attempts to install a hitch and I came back empty-handed. I called my boyfriend and asked him what he wanted to do. Tony offered us a small discount for our inconvenience and proceeded to order the parts and set another appointment for May 14 at 12 noon. I arrived May 14 at 12 noon only to find out that my appointment was at 230pm. I insisted that my appointment was as 12 noon and not 230pm. I confronted Tony afterwards when I saw him. He checked the system and said that his assistant had moved my appointment from 12 noon to 230pm. Who changes the customers appointment and fails to inform the customer?! Needless to say, I was furious! Tony said that since their 1230pm appointment had not shown up yet, they would start working on the hitch install right away although my appointment was at 230pm. The hitch was finally installed at 240pm that day and I was asked to pick up the car and pay. No apologies were provided for bad communication, bad coordination and how unprofessional they have conducted themselves throughout this. We brought the Baja back only to find out that they installed hitch 1 and not hitch 2, the wrong part! Now were not able to use the corresponding parts we have that were intended for hitch 2 and have to buy brand new parts for hitch 1. We just spent $300+ and a whole lot of wasted time and frustrations and got the wrong parts installed. What an ordeal!
Made an appointment for a hitch install on my Prius about a week ago. Got a txt msg verifying the appt 2 days ago. I arrived on-time and was told by the surly woman wearing the general manager shirt that my appt was 3 hrs later. She was excited as she told a co-worker how shed done her first hitch the evening before--on a Prius. They look and could not find my hitch; 14 mile drive, 45 minutes wasted. The other guy with a 0700 appt was also told that he was out-of-luck, despite his appt. There was acceptance of responsibility by the mgmt, no expression of remorse, and no other to make things right. Disappointing.
