The ONLY place I take my cars for mechanic work for 25+ years. No smoke & mirrors or hidden pricing. Ive NEVER been disappointed in their work. Always thorough and never over the estimate which you get either on the phone or in person before you hand them your keys. Ive taken them German, Japanese and US made cars and they have fixed them all. They wont replace stuff just to make money. They treat your car like it was their own.

I have had multiple cars over the last few years that have been given or donated to me. They’ve not been in the best shape when I’ve received them but I’ve been grateful for each one. My husband and I have had these vehicles serviced by Mark and Zach for the last 10 years.Even though my husband is gone now, my vehicles still go to The Garage. Over the many years and multiple vehicles they’ve kept these gifts running to the absolute best of their abilities (and my budget constraints) and have never failed to inform me of the “must have” repairs vs the “ it can wait” ones as I’ve brought the cars in. I’ve even had the “pleasure” of hearing…. Drive it till it drops but don’t invest a penny in fixing it up. Save that money for another car!I have the utmost confidence that they mean what they say and will not overcharge me just because they can (or because I bring in problem cars…!). I know that if they say that it’s got to be done now, that means that I should have brought it in last week.I am grateful that these men are so skilled and that they value their integrity as much as they do because it means that my “gifts” last a little longer than if I’d taken them somewhere else. Thanks for being there for me throughout the years and nightmares I’ve had.

Do NOT trust the reviews. It’s shameful that the garage uses a service to filter reviews. Just look how many one star reviews there are.Poor customer service. Defective work and Refusal to uphold warranty work. Didn’t perform the work quoted.literally said they replaced a part that was proven to be original.In the middle of a complaint with the BBB and a personal attorney of a lawsuit to convince them to honor their own warranty.Update. Extremely!!! poor work.Do not trust what is quoted. Get a second opinion to avoid losing your money.My car literally runs worse now than it did before I dropped it off to them.There are a ton of terrible reviews, listen.

Ive known the guy that owns this place for 25 years. Hes amazing! Best auto mechanic Ive ever met and he has always been fair with me... often times even more than fair. Do yourself a favor, dont have your car fixed anywhere else.

2300 miles from home, and on our way to Yellowstone, our SUV developed a noticeable clunk in the front end. Too far from home to tempt fate, and headed into some very small towns, I decided to get it fixed here in North Salt Lake. Because we are traveling and only in town for a few days, I could easily be seen as an opportunity to extort a few dollars. I need to choose a garage wisely.A search of google and yelp review shows The Garage is not just a good shop, but that they have clearly built their business on honesty and integrity. Plus, they are only 6 miles away, almost too good to be true.I probably drove past 2 dozen other shops on my way up to Bountiful. Well worth it. Mike and his crew did an excellent job getting me back on the road. He quickly identified the issue with a strut that I had misdiagnosed as a ball joint, and even ensured I didnt have the same problem on the other side. Communication was superb, I never went for more than a few hours w/out an update. And the cost was fair and reasonable, even for someone who is accustomed to working on his own vehicles.Thanks again guys!

Im grateful to find a new honest shop to go to. This place has been the preferred shop by my parents for at least the past 10 years. After having multiple problems with being charged more than was anticipated and even being lied to about work done on my vehicle at different shops I decided to listen to my parents and go here.They took care of my issue extremely quickly, were very polite when explaining everything they did to my vehicle and even charged me less money than what I was originally quoted.I had a excellent experience!

Best place to take your car. I had my car seating at Ken Garff west valley. It was there 3 week and they did nothing. I take it to the Garage and they get it done in 2 days! They are amazing. I will always go back there. Their staff is super super friendly. I could not say one bad thing about them.

Ive been going to Mark Stagg for over 20 years, ive referred probably 20+ people, why... Because Mark has always been honest, and he stands begins his work. And when you find a good honest mechanic, you stay with them and i am a testament of that. Anyone who thinks he talks down to them while on the phone or makes fun of his garage, clearly was picked on as a child and lives a miserable life!

We just moved to Davis County and needed a new mechanic. After researching the local places, we chose the Garage based on all the good reviews. We took in a few used cars we purchased recently in to these guys, and they have been great. Very responsive and able to get the work done in good time. They told what things needed fixed right away, and what things could wait. Their pricing is as good or better than the other places we compared to. Would definitely use them for future car services, and highly recommend to anyone looking.

Have taken my boyfriends truck here while he was out of town and they were honest about what needed to be fixed and the pricing. Driving home from work function (from northern Davis county to south Salt Lake County) late on a Thursday night, and my truck breaks down unexpectedly. I had to park it at a local gas station overnight, and get a ride home for work the next day. I looked up local repair stations and The Garage had good reviews, and were close to where I left my truck, so I tried them first, and boy was I glad I did. Called them at 8am when they opened, they were able to diagnose the problem (with my alternator) over the phone. Informed me exactly how much the replacement/labor would cost and told me theyd get the truck back to their place and get it done that day. I was even more impressed when I got a call about 2pm that day saying they had finished and the new alternator was in and truck functioning again like new (for a 10 year old truck:) Took my payment over the phone and left my keys in a safe place so that I could pick it up later that night (after hours) when I could get a ride back to their facility. Never once actually met any of the guys that did the work, or took care of my truck, but if I lived in the Bountiful area, they wouldve just earned my loyalty for all my cars needs-forever. I wish I had a place like theirs that I trusted closer to where I live, but Im grateful for the great job that they did here and now. Awesome job, honest, didnt take advantage of the situation or try to do more work than necessary, efficient, fair priced. Off this experience, I cant recommend them enough.

I will not return to this shop. My son took his 2004 Jeep Liberty to The Garage to get a thermostat replaced. They quoted me $90 on the phone, but when my son dropped it off and they did the repair the cost ended up being $190. They said the bolts where stripped and they had to do extra work, but they never asked to approve the extra work. They just charged an extra hundred and did the work. They should have asked before doing the work.THEN a week after the thermostat was replaced my son was on the freeway and the thermostat failed and by the time my son noticed and stopped the car overheated to the point the engine blew.I called the garage and they of course put all blame on the part and my son. I agree that my son should have pulled over sooner and the part could have failed. I purchased the part from AutoZone and the shop put it in.The Garage asked me what they could have done wrong to make it their fault. I said Im not sure what you could have done, but the car is dead and you guys did the repairs. The Garages reply was oh, you dont know what we could have done, but its our fault?I will not be returning to The Garage!!

I have to put a good word in here. Definitely the best service we have ever received from an auto shop. We needed new brakes and I called every shop in town. The Garage was half the price and they did not change from the price they quoted me on the phone. They also didnt try to upsell me or tell me something else was wrong to get more business. They got the job done quickly and they were very courteous. I just took my car to them for an oil change. I told them I was in a rush and they did it in less than 30 minutes. It is exciting to find a reliable place to take my car.

I took my car here by following my sisters suggestion after being lied to by another local mechanic that took advantage of the fact that I am not mechanically inclined (long story). I have not looked back since and always take my car to Mark Stagg. He is honest and reasonable. They always call to give you a quote, explain the work to be done, and give you an idea of when it will get completed before they get started. The work that Ive gotten done rarely takes more than a day and the cost is usually what I would expect to pay (before getting a quote) if not much less. I would recommend the Garage, Inc. to anyone!

Does not necessarily have cheaper prices and treats the customers like their stupid.Every time I talk to him on the phone, he treats the customer with disrespect and goes out his way to make them feel stupid, even if a customer knows a lot about their own car, or has extensive knowledge in mechanics. Looks more like a home mechanics garage, rather than a real professional establishment. If you want honest service and a mechanic that actually listens, take your automobile somewhere else.

Just had my timing belt done on my car by these guys and they are awesome, they fixed another minor issue that my car had and didnt even charge me for it. They had it done in a timely manner and they even kept my car clean. I have never got a car back from a shop that was just as clean as when I brought it to them. I would definately reccommend them to anyone.

In because my check engine light came on they fixed the problem at a very low price and did a great job in a timely manner they didnt try to over charge or misdiagnosed anything they treated me with great respect they even gave me a ride home and picked me up when my car was finished at no extra charge I found these guys on the Internet for I didnt know where to take my car and didnt want to get ripped off now that I found these guys I will not take my vehicles any where else

Totally agree with Ryan Jolley. I guarantee these other reviews are from people that the garage asked to write nice things about it. I have never been treated so badly. They continually talked down to me. They cost the exact same as everywhere else but everywhere else you dont get treated like crap. The shop I took my truck to after they did $700 worth of work on said most of my problems would have been preventable if they would have just done their job in the first place. Couldnt be more displeased with these guys. No way anyone should go there.

I wanna preface this by saying Im getting no sort of discount of money for this review, I just know how much I rely on reviews when choosing someone to hire/place to eat, etc. so I thought to help out yall who are looking for a mechanic. :) Ive gone to these guys multiple times for both of our vehicles. I love them as not only are they usually the best deal for the fix, but theyre real with you about what the issue is. Ive had times where theyve told me there wasnt things wrong other mechanics had said were, and theyll tell ya out of a few problems what needs to be fixed the soonest and sometimes Ive had where theres been problems they said didnt even need fixing unless it bugged me! Thats when you know youve found an awesome mechanic. To top it off, everyone there is always so friendly and smiling, AND theyve got a freezer full of good ice cream you can choose from as a customer! Um, consider me sold for life. Haha! Yall are great, and thanks for figuring out I didnt need a new alternator like the other guys said but a new battery a couple days ago. That saved me over a hundred dollars. Thanks a million.
