After 2 years of them having my truck I finally have it back. Complete and total waste of time and money. I was quoted 3K for all repairs I needed done, was very specific with I needed to know if it would be more and to call me before repairs exceeded. Its always a pleasure to have a surprise invoice show up of excess of 6k for the repairs. I basically had to convince myself that it was fine and at least everything would be fixed and done with the truck. Tonight after 2 years I went to get my truck 6k later I made it maybe 100 from where it was parked and the truck quit running. when I took it to them it was running and driving with some transmission issues. Now it wont go more then 100 and dies. It sounds horrific compared to when I brought to them, I honestly feel it is worse shape then when I took it to them. While I completely appreciated them being willing to work with me on payments that is about the only thing that was a good experience. I feel completely ripped off taken advantage of. for the amount I have paid these guys I could have bought a new motor transmission and probably half way restored the truck.

Mark is a very good man, My Jeep after hours of banging my head on the rig I got it in and within 10 minutes he found the problem and was able to get me on the road. I highly recommend Ray’s and definitely will be coming back.

One of primary work vehicles was having some trouble so I reached out to Rays. They got us in quick and got the problem identified and taken care of quickly. So quick that we didnt end up having any real downtime with the truck which is huge for us. Everyone was kind and easy to work with and their online/text notification, update and billing process was extremely easy. Great people, great work! They were very honest with me the whole time. This is one of the only places in the area that does a diagnosis for free. This isnt one of those 5 star reviews that planted. I had them work on my Volvo. They found a ton of codes. They minimized the cost for labor and bundled it all together. Foreign parts take a while to get so it took a while, but that was to be expected. They had my car up in running in no time. I took my wifes car there too and same thing--excellent service at a reasonable price, and honest in their dealings.

Whatever you do do not take your automobile here!Absolutely terrible experience time and time again. Not honest and the workmanship is of very poor quality. I will never set foot in that shop again. Save yourself from my headache a lot of money out of pocket and take your vehicle somewhere else.

My car was losing power so I brought it in. Mark took a look at it and figured out that the spark plugs weren’t gapped right. He fixed it up and I was on my way in less than an hour. I’m glad my mom and sister recommended I take it to him because he was kind, honest and informative. They brought their cars in for tuneups and when they were quoted $400 by another place Ray’s only chargI’m heading to Washington tomorrow and I’m so grateful I’ll have a reliable car to get me there. Our truck was leaking oil like crazy. We were pulling a fifth wheel and camped in Caldwell. Turns out we needed a rear main seal. Mark and the staff there were able to get us in that day. They had to drop the transmission to replace the seal but was a long, dirty job. They got it fixed in a day. We are back on the road. Really appreciate the professional service and expertise. Would not hesitate to use them for any vehicle needs.

Great customer service but some things were left loose when had transmission change, drive shaft fix, and clutch. Clutch stick came out of clucth in 3rd week, air hose by transmission was loose and got damage, transmission seal leak, torques on drive shaft were loose and lost two.

Ray is ethical and honest. He was straight up with me about pricing and how long it would take. I compared his pricing to others locally and Rays was the most affordable. All the work he has done for me has been great quality.

I fully appreciated their straightforward pricing, the quickness of their service, and their step by step explanation of the service being done on my motorhome. Their diagnostic was accurate and it fixed the problem, and they did not charge me for the diagnostic. After replacing my MAF sensor and spark plug coil, they drained off the extra quart of oil in my overfilled transmission, and fixed an intake leak which made an annoying whistle sound all for no extra charge. The owner Mark at Ray’s diesel and automotive went beyond the extra mile. I will recommend this company to all my friends.

The owner was quick to get me in same day which was great because I run a buisiness as well. I started on changing my fuel filter and couldnt finish the job, but rays got me back on the road. I would highly recommend them top notch!

My experience at Rays Diesel was great! I took my truck in for an oil leak that a different shop told me was going to cost me $2,500 to fix and Mark at Rays took the time to explain to me where the leak is coming from and how it would get fixed. These guys are great, they fixed a leak on my truck a few months back and its all holding up nicely. They squeezed me in for a quick estimate last week on another repair despite being pretty busy. They stand behind their work and keep you updated on how things are going while your vehicle is in the shop, will definitely take my truck back for repairs that are beyond my skill set.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to break down! These mechanics were very knowledgeable, friendly and VERY fast! We unexpectedly had to replace a transfer case on a ‘06 Chevy while on a road trip from Oregon to Idaho. On a Friday afternoon they were able to diagnose, order the part from another town, remove and replace the part and get us back on the road in under 3 hours! I highly recommend this shop!!!!!! :)

I have used Rays for several repairs, for several different vehicles. Mark does all of my major repairs, and even a few minor repairs if I need him to. Always priced very fairly, and the service I receive is outstanding. Honest, knowledgeable, and courteous. Quality work, done in a timely manner. Rays Diesel and Automotive Repair provided an estimate that was HALF of what Subaru quoted me! They repaired my car in a timely fashion but unfortunately (unbeknownst to Rays) one of the parts had a minor defect. Although it wasnt their fault, they made certain the defective part was replaced and even refunded some of my initial repair cost! Now that is integrity you dont see everyday!!

Hi every one,I have to share this, so please read my revue. So my truck started running really rough and I couldnt figure out what was wrong, I took it to a top rated shop in Caldwell (Something Performance) anyway they took my truck into the shop and they did a diagnostic on it, a little later they told me that it would cost about 3,000.00 to fix my truck, I was floored, I dont have that kind of money, I told the guy that I would have to wait, I was then charged for the diagnostics, (Uggg) and I headed home. I though for that much money I should get a second opinion, so I took it to another top rated shop in Nampa, and had it check there. I told them what it was doing and what the other shop had said and asked if they could take a look at it for a second opinion. He looked it over and said that they were correct on the repair but he could get it done for 2,600.00. I thought well thats a little better but still out of rang for me to pay at this time. I told him the same that it would have to wait. He said ok just let me know when you are ready. Felling defeated I started heading home. On my way home it started getting worse, to the point that I couldnt much over 40 mph, I was just sick, I need this truck for work and I had no idea what I was going to tell my wife or what I was going to do. So I started taking some back roads home so that I wasnt on any major road if it died completely. As I was diving totally stressed out I came upon Rays Diesel and Automotive, I saw him out front working on another truck similar to mine so I thought what can it hurt, and I stopped. I waked into the office and was greeted by a lovely lady, she said to have a seat and someone will be right with you, I have tell you she was the kindest and caring person I have meet. I think that she could see that I was depressed. Anyway a little later the service manager came in and shook my hand and ask what he could do for me. I told him what my truck was doing, and he said well lets plug it in and see whats going on. I told him that I could afford anther diagnostic, and he said to my surprise that he didnt charge for a plug in diagnostic. So he garbed his computer (nice system...WOW) and we went my truck, and right in front of the shop he plug into my truck and started reading the codes. When the computer was done he showed me the results, and said to my surprise this is an easy fix your MAF sensor is coding. He said start your truck I want to check a couple of other thing, so I did and he started testing the injectors, (I thought oh here we go, this is what the other shop said was wrong) It was cool though he was turning injectors off and on and checking sensors and oil and fuel pressures, increasing and decreasing the throttle, man we could see everything about the engine. Then he showed me the MAF sensor and its reading (what it should be reading and what it was reading) He turned to me and said open your hood, so I did and he looked under the hood for a bit and then said to me hang on Ill be right back. He went into the shop and bit later came back out with a small box and a screw driver and little later went back to his computer and cleared the codes and said go ahead and start your truck. And OMG when I started the truck it was running correctly. (I didnt have any worlds) I just sat there. He then showed me the new reading on the MAF sensor and now it was in rang. (I almost cried) then to add to this, I asked what I owed you and he said, and I quote are you a religious man? I said yea I go to church every Sunday why? He said Good, put 60.00 in offering this Sunday and we are square About that time his phone rang and he said I have to take this, he shook my hand an patted me on the shoulder and said have yourself a wonderful rest of your day and went to his phone call. Im usually very talkative, and all I could do is nod my head. As I was driving home my truck was running great, Im telling you my manliness went out the wind that day, I busted into tear when I got home and was tell my wife what had happened that day.
