I had to take two different vehicles for service at this location. Joseph M. “Joe” was great and helpful with the service that I needed. Brian and James the technician that worked on my car were also really helpful and knowledgeable. They didn’t try to sell me anything more that the cars really needed and explained the entire process so I could understand. I highly recommend this location for their service and customer services.
On July 1 2021 I had to get off the highway 485 in Charlotte NC because the air in one of my tires was running out fast and the manager Nestor and the tech Ron went above and beyond to take care of my tire I had a flat tire that couldnt be repaired so I had to purchase a new one and have it put on when they were about to close I purchased a cheaper tire that they had but they were unable to find the tire and actually gave me a better tire with everything I got on the cheaper tire at a lesser price. Thank you guys for all you did for me
I was in Charlotte on a weekend trip. I called Pep Boys and Mr. Joe was so helpful. Initially they werent going to be able to get to my vehicle until Monday but Mr. Joe and his team were extremely kind and they were able to work me in on Sunday so that I could get back home. I owe a big THANK YOU to Mr. Joe and his team of mechanics who replaced my alternator.
Got an estimate of 10min for a recommended service. Until 20min no one attended the vehicle and when requested for a new estimate got 45min more.Nester was able to resolve the issue and get me going as quickly he could. Thanks Team!

Amazing customer service!!! I seriously can’t even say enough good things about this place! It’s nice going to a car shop as a single female and not getting hustled. They do what needs to be done to your car and they do not try and up charge me or sell me on things my car does not need. I’ve been coming to this location for years and I’ve always had good service. I came in last Thursday and the gentleman at the front was so nice and helpful and got me in right away and even got me in the next day for some collision repair that someone else gave me a quote for $2200 and they fixed in less than an hour for $300!!!! I will never make the mistake of going anywhere else! I highly recommend this location!
I had a flat tire on Sunday and this pep boys location was one of the only places open that could repair my tire. Joe answered my phone calls that day and helped me in the shop. My tire was fixed and Joe was so very kind and helpful! Helped to remove the tire from the back of my vehicle and put back in when I picked it up. Many thanks to Joe for making an awful day much less awful!
They tried to charge me 3600 dollars to do my upper and lower ball joints and rack and pinion steering.. I could not believe my eats when they told me that. I did it myself for 800 dollars and that include all the tools I needed. If you like spending money and lots of it take your car to pep boys
I came in for inspection twice and will never take my car back there again. It took them one hour to inspect when other places take less than 15mins. They told me I need to change 2 tires coz the outside tread was low, they told me theyll pass me if I change the tires and they can change it for me for $500 plus a realignment when my car just got recently realigned. Another girl in front of me at the counter was told that she needed her 4 tires changed to pass. I left and went to another place the same day and my car passed inspection without any issue. This place is not the place for inspection, they sell you tires!

I Just called for information & scheduling an appointment not only was I hung up on, they didnt provide any helpful information at all. I understand you have to bring the car in to get exact cause of the problem but the customer service was horrible. I will not be visiting this location for any services.Update: Notice the automatic reply they keep giving everyone. Poor customer service.
They lied about when I order was coming in and when it came in they didn’t honor what they was supposed to do. Wouldn’t offer a discount very rude white fat man in service and tire consultant. They will never get our service. There was only one person that help us and it was Retail manger Cameron great customer service he did everything to help us
I have used Pep Boys South Blvd location in Charlotte for 15 years. Eddie and Devlin are new to me but they continue the standard of taking care of my problem quickly and at a great value. I had an issue with a tire. they fixed the tire and far exceeded my expectations. very impressed with this team and highly recommended.

This is the only auto place my household goes to in Charlotte! We have had unusual experiences at other places around town but we trust wholeheartedly in Eddie and the guys in the back! I would advise finding another shop for your vehicles repairs. They will try to sell you services you don’t need while ignoring the current issues you initially came in for. They also have a hard time finding basic parts. I was able to quickly locate parts needed with a quick google search. I went to car guyz in rock hill instead. I would highly recommend them as honest mechanics.

In general a very nice staff, just beware of their inspections and recommendations. I went for an oil change/ check up and knew my rear brake pads were low, they quoted way more work than I actually needed, as I found out after going to inquire on a second opinion. When I rejected their recommendations the individual I was working with got super defensive and agitated - a red flag to me. Almost insulting and demeaning.ShameInsultGuiltThe need to be rightTypically not dynamics I look for in my professional service relationships. They also failed to reset my oil indicator after doing a good job with the oil change - hence the 2-stars. Plenty of other options in Charlotte. I would stay away.
Honestly....They will up sale you every step of the way .... I also think they purposely break things.. I went in to get one specific thing fixed.. which cost a lot of money.. and left with an entirely new problem.. which was not a problem when I brought my car in... I immediately went back to inquire.. they took very little accountability about the new damage.. they even blamed it all on my car.. and immediately told me how much it would cost to fix it... just when I thought I found a reliable auto shop I could trust.. guess not. I’ve been a pep boys customer since the 80s in Los Angeles.. Charlotte is a totally different vibe..I gave 3 stars cause Joe is a really nice dude. But sadly he was off when I picked my car up..
Eddie is the best customer service skills and how he took care of me today...Sometimes reading reviews can damper up your mood and your own experiences but i had to figure it out myself. People get so mad and blame these places when in the meantime it be the people not the places. I came in just in time to get my battery. I have been a loyal customer for 6 yrs, through 2 cars since moving back to Charlotte. I trust the team there. They never Ever try to sell me something I dont need. They offer suggestions if I need to save money. I just got my state inspection done while getting a tune up, oil change and various other things. Totally recommend!
Ive had general maintenance on my vehicle performed at this location in the past and was satisfied with the service and work. Everyone seemed willing to assist.Thanks to Eddie, they now seem very cynical, curt, arrogant... as though they are really doing you a favor at this location. Newsflash...without customers, your doors would be closed.I scheduled an appointment on- line and followed up with a phone call prior to heading over for service. I am glad I did. I will exercise other options and I dont plan to return to this location.

WOW. Great service.My husband and I had our serpentine belt go while driving home from vacation. We had it towed to this location the second they opened. They diagnosed the problem but didn’t have the part at their location. They sent a worker out to pick up the part and got us on the road all within a few hours (we weren’t even their first customers that day). I am very very impressed with their customer service, speedy service and quality of care that was overall provided and on a Sunday at that!!Thank you guys for taking such good care of us!

So I go there on a Tuesday to price some tires for my car. Talk to a male and a female about the tires. They tell me they have to get my tires from a nearby store and that the tires would be there on Thursday which is two days away. The young lady tells me she would call me if anything went wrong an I said ok! The guy then tells me that I didnt have to buy the tires but that they would be there Thursday I said ok but I will be in on Thursday at 8am when they open. Today is 08/17/20 the freaking Thursday so I get up get my kids ready and head to Pep Boys. When I get there a i talk to another gentleman that has no clue of why Im there! I tell him that the tires came from another store so he then does some research and tells me that the freaking tires are not there! This was a complete waste of time on two separate occasions! What poor customer service this was!!!!!
I am giving 1 star because I can’t give zero. This place is full of dubious people. I took my car here because it was showing some warning signs, they told me they will fix it, I waited there for 3 hours, after three hours the mechanic told me the car is fixed I need to pay and get my keys, so I paid and got my keys back. When I entered the car, all the warning signs were as it is. I tried going inside the shop asap, it was closed. I had to come next day for refund but they didn’t give full refund. Please don’t visit this place. Please.
So slow, its like they tried to waste my time. After a inspection, I waited another 30+ minutes to get my keys while they moved at sloth pace. I could see my keys hanging on the hook behind them the entire time. If I hadnt been a bit pushy for my receipt/keys, Im sure theyd let me stand there for another hour just. A inspection shouldnt take 2hrs with 3 workers standing around doing nothing. Also While in the lobby, I overheard them upselling things to a few customers that were not needed. Ill be skipping this place in the future.

Went to take advantage of the 50% off sale, the employees were somewhat nice. My card was declined multiple times from the chip reader and I had to manually type it all in for it to work, but that has happened before at other places so it could be a problem with my card as well. Overall was not a bad experience
My niece had a blowout late on a Saturday afternoon. After helping her get the spare tire on, we went to a nearby national tire chain, only to be told it would be Monday before they could get the tire fixed. She needed to head home on Sunday which is three hours away so she had to get the tire fixed immediately. We called Pep Boys and they had the tire in stock and was able to get it on, even though it was after 6pm. Employees were very friendly and helpful.

I am pissed I cannot give this location 0 stars. First we came here for a simple issue. Of course when it all came down to it we had more to be done. They said we needed an oil change as well and fuel filter. We originally were here for a tail light. The truck had an oil change 3 weeks ago and didnt need one for 6k miles. The first time I was here they did the same thing. I have to go here because my company account requires it and all I have to say is lazy and crooked is an understatement. See the dude just texting away on his phone. He was there for 15 min. Maybe it was his break time I dont know. Just seems like to many people were sitting around and only a couple of the staff were actually working. Im really just wanting to state they are crooked. Plain and simple.

My wife called and spoke to someone regarding the hours of operation on Friday 5/01/2020 at 3:45 pm to possibly get our Tahoe serviced for a leaking valve stem but rather than buying just one tire, we wanted to buy 4 new tires, possibly some wider, more durable tires. The guy stated if she wanted to get it serviced that it would be a wait because they were busy and were closing at 6pm. She then stated shed bring it in the following day and was asking what options they had in terms of a different type of tires and he told her he couldnt say and that shed just have to come look at a book and they may could order them. He was very rude, acted like she was a nuisance just by calling. She finally said nevermind and just hung up on him. Its nothing worse than needing something serviced on your vehicle and having to deal with people like this.

Had an awesome experience in this Pep Boys. One of the associates named Cameron James assisted me and was very knowledgeable about the items I was purchasing. He treated me well and although I knew he had other things to do he took the time to get my questions answered and ordered the parts I needed and did not waste my time. I was in and out in no time. I went online looking for two gas cans. The website indicated I could pick them up at the store today. When I arrived I was told they did not have any. I explained to Cameron I needed the cans now and he sold me the gas cans he had in stock for the same price shown online. Cameron could have said there was a mistake in the inventory and left me hanging. He did not do this. Instead he took the time to honor the price and availability shown on the website. Thank you.

We are very disappointed with the lack of customer service we received at this location. My husband and I visited Pep Boys on yesterday for an oil change we were told over the phone to come within the hour.When we arrived, we waited at the counter for close to 5 minutes before being acknowledged and was then told that the wait was 1.5 to 2 hours. We declined to wait and asked if we were able to make an appointment for Monday. We were given an appointment time of 11am.My husband arrived for his appointment at 11am the women at the desk was very rude, short and inattentive. She stated that the wait was 45 minutes in total.TWO HOURS LATER, my husband asked if his car was completed and was told by the woman that the service was never even started! He was told that they put his keys in the wrong place and his car was over looked.My husband was missed over two hours from work And never got the oil change!No one apologized for the inconvenience or acknowledged their negligence.This location is very unprofessional and a really bad experience!
They kept us waiting 30min+ just to put the rim on 1 SINGLE tire. And when it was finally ready they let it sit against the wall and were in no rush to alert us it was done. Poor customer service. These people don’t know what they’re doing.
Went for a state inspection after repklacing the alternator. Vehicle was failed for codes, and control arm bushings that I know are good. Codes are because of the alternator replacement, but they would not reset the codes without performing over $2000.00 of service. After servicing the alternator codes will appear in error many times.
I had a great experience getting my tire fixed after running over a metal shard. I phoned at nearly 8pm to enquire and was told it could be fixed that night. I was in and out by 8:30 with a fixed tire and all for $30.

Used to be a good shop. Took my car in for tire rotation. The front tires turned out being worn out. They told me I needed new upper and lower control arms. Price was going to be $1,066.00 to replace. Decided to check with my alignment shop first. They told me the control arms are fine and it just needed alignment. Pep Boys clearly trying to rip off customers and up-sell service. Wont go back.
Apparently no one knows how to answer the phone in service center. Ive called several times to check on my car, I was told to hold and after being on hold for the 30 minutes each time no one returns to the phone. The service center employee needs to improve their customer service skills. And the store looks filthy on the inside nothing like the photos. Makes me question the repairs on my car.
No one at the service desk for over 15 minutes. 5 different people told us someone would be with us in a few minutes but no one stopped to help. Then when they did get to us the guy walked away mid process to work on something else for a few minutes. Very unprofessional. Do not come here for quick service.

To start Spencer was the nicest person and made sure he went above and beyond to get me the tires I wanted, However, Tony was not!!! He was extremely rude to my husband when he called to see about our tires and when they would be available. He has no idea about customer service. Emmanuel was also very nice and helpful. Once my tires was delivered to Pep-Boys, Spencer called and let me know right away; however, due to Tonys smart attitude, we decided to pick up the tires and have them put on elsewhere.
Awesome experience here, Mr. Cameron James went beyond the extra mile to ensure I was taken care of. Brought a roof carrier, but it didnt fit my car. He called up multiple businesses in the area to find me someone that could assist me with its installation. I was able to be on my way and everything worked out, fantastic customer service.
So sad that Lyft/Hertz changed from NTB to Pep Boys for service. I guess 3 hours isnt long enough to see why check engine light is on and I have to come all the way back up here another day. That also means Ill be waiting for more than 3 hours? Therefore I think Ill try another location to see if its any better.
Ok went in to get an inspection, while there I asked for a tire quote and was given a really good deal with an in store rebate on the tires and an alignment if I buy today....So I went ahead and did the deal.... been waiting for over 3 hours for tires and alignment... have had the tires on for almost 45 minutes... I am thinking Ok Sunday small crew... Went to ask how much longer for the alignment... He says... Well were having an issue with the alignment machine.... And we cant even finish the car on the rack....????... So I asked to be rung up for the tires and be on my way. ... Wondering how much longer would l have been sitting there waiting if I hadnt asked how much longer ....oh I was told I had purchased a life time balance and at checkout was told only ....90 day on balance... The tires were still a fair price the customer service totally not there..... 4 hours to end up with New tires and an inspection... only three people in front of me when I first sat down. Sorry for the long post...

The service was good. I had my oil changed in about 30 minutes. I did schedule a appointment though. I probably wont go back because its just to expensive for me. When I know I can get a oil change for half the price. I was just really over due for one so I stopped in at the closest place.
Great friendly sales associate but poor management practices. Yes, I ordered two items through the website that Pep Boys did not intend to discount as much as it did and I fully expected to receive a cancellation email since it was a day after the store was aware of it. Order was placed 7-13. It was the day after the order was placed that I got a call at 10:37AM that it was ready to be picked up. I then got an email at 11:14AM that it was ready to be picked up. I arrived at the store and the manager told me hes canceling the order after I got to the store at 11:50AM. He said the corporate email about their system error was received at 11 so my order-ready communications wont be honored. I understand it was a price mistake, thats okay. I also understand that it was likely to have been canceled. But please be proactive about it and cancel the orders either through the email system or a phone call instead of having each customer come in first and then canceling the order on-site. Its a waste of time and drive, for the customer, to get to the store while the prices are still higher than other sources even after he offered 25% off as per the email from corporate. The sales associate at the pick up desk was immensely polite and helpful, however.Also, after you cancel the order and then you talk about the customer and his order while hes browsing around the aisles, he can hear you. At least wait until the customer leaves the store.
I had trouble starting my SUV, but I got it started and was able to drive to this Pep Boys location. The Repair Shop Manager, Tony, took care of me very quickly even though the store was busy. The tech very promptly checked my battery (which was dead). They also checked my alternator, which was fine. Then, they very quickly replaced my battery while I waited.The technician (Jeff) who replaced my battery was very meticulous and thorough when replacing the battery, and made sure all connections were clean and secure.The price was VERY REASONABLE. I was out the door and on my way in less than one hour.This is the second or third time I have purchased a battery at Pep Boys, and this store has alway done excellent work.I have also had other work done here, including an alternator replacement on another car. I was very pleased with that work as well.
Good service and reasonable prices. My engine guard was hanging down. They pinned it back up putting all new pins in for $18, taxes included.
Very misleading pricing on auto repairs. Whatever they say its going to cost, be prepared for it to be $50-$100 more.. on top of that Im a veteran and specifically asked them if they gave a veteran discount which they replied yes, 10%. After getting my four tires which one came free they proceeded to tell me I could not get it an additional 10% off the total bill because they cant stack discount, I will not go back..... Pep Boys has a very misleading sales tactic and their sales representatives are not customer friendly. They also tried to sell me an alignment, which I didnt need, and scratched one of my rims. They denied that .....Update,... Had a problem with one of my tires. Took it in, they said they couldnt fix it and charged me for another o one. Dont get roadside hazard plan. Wont do anything for you except Jack up you final price......Discount Tire Copmany way better...Update again. After doing some research, they sold me one tire, and gave me different ones not as good as what I pay for.... They are Liars & Crooks
Pep boys is great for a number of reasons. First and foremost, they have always given me great customer service. Recently though, I discovered that they also do car services. Its the most affordable place to get my oil changed, and its not even close. It cost me less than half as much as it did when I went to jiffylube. Ill never go anywhere else for an oil change again. Its almost the same cost as doing it myself.
The employees were great! I must have called a million time with a million different questions after I left my car there and they answered every single question. They didnt try and take advantage of me because Im a woman, the service was timely, and my car is running well! They even gave me a discount at the counter! I would definitely recommend Pep Boys on S.Blvd for your car service needs.
2014--got new battery, positive experience. Mechanic used memory keeper.2019-got same BOSCH battery, lasted good 5 1/2 years. Bad experience. Young mechanics (look like non certified part-timers) dropping screws, did not know how to put it back in place, manager was rude. However, there were some good clerks in the store; thats why 2 stars (otherwise, 0 stars).2017-had a defect spray can, brought back for exchange, clerk did not take it back. I contacted the manufacture and they gave me refund.Pep Boys, 10-20 years ago, was a good old store, but now after changing their store signs (as Gores took over it), NOT ANYMORE, SAD

First of all, I would just like to say that this was the best experience I have ever had when getting my car serviced. I had to get my two back tires replaced and I really didnt have a clue as to what I was doing. Amanda was kind enough to walk me through the process and even showed me what was wrong with my two back tires. No other car shop has ever done that. The mechanic, Shawn, who worked on my car, lifted my car up on a car lifter thing and showed me from underneath what was wrong with my tires. Amanda was also able to get me a lower price on my services than I was previously told. I will be coming back here hands down.
One of the only places open late for tire repair. Pricey - but worth it. I just wish I would have known that they also tow before I paid someone else to come get me - I wasted $90 getting towed here to then pay another $200 for a tire. My fault- Doh!
Made an appointment for 2 PM for an oil change. It is 4:30 PM and Im still waiting. They make no attempt to let you know whats going on. I dont suggest this location unless you have half a day to waste.
Guys in the store are really nice and helpful and willing to help out customers. additionally they have a well stocked speed shop for more custom products. i pass by a couple other autoparts stores to go to pepboys.

I would rate it less if I could. I went in for an alignment about 6 moths ago. After the alignment was done I paid and got in my car to drive away. As soon as I was on the road I felt that there was something wrong so I pulled off onto a quieter street and did some driving back and forth, the car was pulling to the right quite noticeably.I went back and told them that it was done wrong and pulls to the right. They had the mechanic come out to take a test drive. and he was arguing with me that the car is supposed to pull one side and that it was something to do with torque in the transmission.I was an alignment tech a few years ago, and he had no idea what he was talking about, I would have done the alignment my self but I dont have the expensive machinery.Now 6 months later, my at the time nice tires on the front and slightly worn tires on the rear, are worn on one edge completely and still nice on the other side and center. Its like the tire is riding on completely one side.As far as Im concerned these are a bunch of crooks that are just there to take your money, not caring for the customer or his car.
After really terrible customer service when I dropped it off, they parked my car in a corner blocked in by a tow truck. Could have left it literally anywhere else in the lot and I could have gotten out. Very unprofessional place, pretty sure they were all asleep today. Will certainly not be going back.

Not only did I receive excellent service but while I was waiting for the original diagnosis on my business car I could not help but observe the terrific interpersonal skills of the crew and it was also noted by a couple of other customers waiting for their cars. .......I showed them a diagnostic from a competitor that said we needed some type of accelerator assembly kit priced between $250.00 & 300.00 before any labor. Great customer service from Spencer and Tony. Didnt catch the name of the guy at the front desk, but they are friendly. Quick service and was not disappointed. Got right in and out for an oil change and tire rotation.
Please read this if you’re needing to take your car for servicing:After calling close to 10 places asking if I can come in as a walk in, every single one turned me away stating “our techs left for the day”, or “I can make an appointment for you next week”, or “we only take appointments”, I called pepboys and Amanda picked my call up. I explained to her that my car has been making terrible grinding noises every time I brake and that I was super worried and it keeps getting worse. She immediately told me to bring it in. I was astounded, I seriously said “wait really?” She told me they aren’t like most places and that they will take care of me. I bring my car in and they do a FREE brake inspection for me. They initially found that my right caliper, rotor, and brake pads needed to be changed desperately. Stressed and upset about the cost (which was completely fair as opposed to other places, I was just financially not in the right place at this moment), I agreed. Upon further inspection, they showed me that my left caliper, rotor, and brake pads also needed changed. When I first walked in, I told them to be honest with me and to not charge me for more than what’s needed. They took that into consideration and took me into the back to see exactly what they were talking about and they also compared my parts to other parts of the cars they were working on at that time too. Guillermo and Amanda showed me exactly everything that was wrong. I was devastated and Amanda helped me apply for the pep boys credit card. I got approved, and the whole time I was there, Amanda was super super friendly sparking up conversation while I was anxious and upset. Guillermo took care of everything, and I drove away and my car felt new and I felt refreshed. My anxiety with driving the car went away and I’m so beyond thankful for Guillermo and Amanda for staying 1 HOUR after closing time to make sure everything was perfect for me. Thank you Guillermo for staying longer and putting forth that labor into my car. Thank you Amanda for keeping me at peace while I was waiting. I’ve never had such a good car maintenance experience. I can’t thank you guys enough, seriously.
