I had to bring in a front wheel of a brand new bike I purchased online because in shipment it was out of balance. Jake fixed it quickly and did a great job of truing it up. He didnt even charge me for service. Ill definitely be going back there for any service that my bikes need....knowledgable and friendly. Definitely recommend...

Absolutely awesome customer service, they helped me out with some defective shoes. When buying the shoes, they helped me find the right size and fit for me, and when the shoes started to wear down prematurely they helped me exchange them. Brian was a great help, and i will definitely be coming back in the future to this location.
Jake and Kelly were extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service. I don’t know much about bikes and they were very helpful and patient in making sure I understood what bike fits my style of riding best! I don’t usually say this in a review but these guys definitely deserve a raise! They are both knowledgeable and will go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. Would highly recommend this location over Concord Mills.
Everybody we’ve interacted with in this store just had a great vibe. The guy who helped me with sunglasses was really friendly and polite and seemed genuine, not the forced retail kind. The bike department has been knowledgeable, very helpful and patient as I had a lot of questions. The lady who answered questions about items in the store seemed really interested in the conversation. Just all around positive people.
TL;DR: Go to REI.Ordered a bike on Sunday night, said itd be at the store Thursday.Thursday comes around. I call to see if I can pick up and they say no, they need to assemble the bike and it will be ready tomorrow (Friday) and they will call me when its ready.6pm Friday comes around, still no call. So I call the store and am told they need until early next week to assemble it. At this point Im annoyed but understand.Sunday comes around and I check my email. Theres one from SunAndSki saying my order has been refunded. Stores not open and customer service isnt online so I cant verify what is going on until Monday.Monday, I call customer service to see whats happening. Im told that the order has been returned because the bike couldnt be tuned properly. The representative tells me they will look into finding a replacement and will call me by close of business tomorrow (Tuesday).Tuesday 6pm comes around, no call. So I call the store I would have picked up at. The guy couldnt have been less interested or helpful. No idea. Call customer service. was basically what I got. So I called customer service and the rep said the order was returned due to damage (which doesnt sound like the reason the other rep gave, but whatever). This rep actually took the 2 minutes to see if there were more of the bike I ordered or any similar. There were none and they said theyd maybe get some more probably over the summer. Helpful.So after all this Im still bikeless. At least now I know where not to get outdoors equipment from.
Thanks to Jack for hooking us up with a great set of boots & skis. He was able to get everything set up within hours since we live out of town so we didn’t have to travel back. Thank you!!!!!

Great customer service in helping to choose boots and other ski equipment.
My wife and I fell in love with skiing last winter. We decided this year it was time to go ahead and buy our own equipment instead of renting. Thomas made everything easy to understand and spent a lot of time with us to make sure we knew what we needed. He helped us on two separate occasions before we came in for a third time to actually buy the equipment. He was patient and kind and not pushy at all. We had an excellent experience.
Always really quick to help us. Great communication and service. Fixed some flats and tuned up all our bikes.

Had a bad experience here with one of the employees acting like I didn’t have my mask on correctly the other day😂. I had my mask on just like 2 other shoppers that weren’t addressed. I didn’t appreciate that.

I came here to purchase a new snowboard and I was greeted by Tyler. He took the time to explain everything I could possibly ask to know about and eventually sold me on a new board. Not pushy at all. He just wanted what would work and satisfy my boarding needs. You need to become manager of Sun and Ski or at least a nice raise. Thanks to Tyler and the team, I am happy with the purchase I have made.
The bike shop is only functional when their guy is in town. Two old men there have zero mechanical skills. Do not come here if you want your bike properly fixed.
Adrian, the guy that works the register as you walk in could use a dose of personality. Myself and my two kids, the only customers in the store, were met with a blank stare from Adrian that couldnt have made me feel any more uncomfortable. I asked him for help and he pointed me to the back of the store suggesting someone else could help me. Walked to the back and saw a gentleman holding a clip board and told him I needed help and he also suggested I get help from the only other employee that was busy outside with someone.. Why? Again, I was the only customer in the store. These folks that werent busy didnt want to help me. I left and purchased my bikes at Ultimate Bicycle. They greeted me promptly and helped answer my questions with a friendly attitude. These days its all about customer service folks... Especially with an abundance of choices around the Charlotte area. I am sure Im not the only customer you lost due to lack of customer service..

Its great to have a store with such a vast selection and competitive prices. I was glad to find a Columbia Omni Heat ski Jacket and pants that have performed wonderfully on my trips to Aspen this year. I will continue to support this locally owned business over online shopping any day of the week!!!
I went in on a whim to look at running shoes. The manager saw me with a puzzled look and came over and measured my foot, watched me walk to determine my stride and helped me find a great running shoe. He was not concerned about whether or not I was buying the most expensive pair, but rather that I was buying the best/most comfortable pair for my foot and stride. he was very knowledgeable. I also looked at compression socks and he directed me to their online store because they were on sale for $20 online. Great experience, I will go back when it is time for new running shoes.
The two sales guys in the store were completely uninterested in helping us today. Rude and generally unpleasant. Couldnt have cared less what we needed or why we were there (buying a bike for my nephews birthday) - not the best way to provide customer service especially when your merchandise is 3x other stores. Totally unpleasant experience. Went to Target and saved 300 bucks, so whatever. Go elsewhere.

Great people... went in with a blown tire for a lawn cart (something they dont carry at all) and the bike shop replaced the tire and tube in a jiffy. They will now be first stop for Outdoor Sports supplies for me...
Tyler was such a great guy and has soo much knowledge on everything about skiing and snow boarding. He had a true passion for working here and he loves what he does. I would recommend for anyone to come here and it was such an amazing experience all around. Did not want to leave the shop. I will definetly be back to shop here again.

I really enjoy this store. I shop here often and it’s always a great experience. The store itself is a great size especially for being a local, none big-box store. While they carry a fantastic amount of inventory, they’re quite limited in brand and gear they carry. For example, if you’re looking for climbing or camping gear, this is not your spot, but if you need skis/boards or clothing —layers, shells and more, this is for you.They do carry some decent bike supplies and have recently started to carry some higher-end branded bikes, too. Their mechanics are awesome! They really know their stuff whether it be road, BMX or road bikes, and are extremely helpful with solid product knowledge.The staff overall in fact are fantastic. There are a couple guys in their ski/boarding department and they’re the real deal —they know the sport, and will give you their honest opinion on gear, locations and even technique.In addition to ski, clothing and biking, they also carry a good amount of running gear, skateboard, water sports and miscellaneous items such as Yeti, GoPro, ENO and more.The prices are slightly higher on some items compared to the big-box or online retailers, but overall they’re very reasonable. If you’re trying to compare to online, you might not find the price you’re looking for in store. In all honesty, if you’re looking for quality advice from guys who know and do the sports, pay the extra and shop local —they truly are awesome.The store is located in the Promenade and not that easy to spot from the main streets. Go drive around in there, you’ll find it.
A ski shop that doesnt open when its snowing or after a snow, what a joke. Also go here if you want overpriced equipment and all around bad service. I used to be a client, now I rather drive a little further to get what I want from the other ski stores in Charlotte which are always open and offer way better prices and services.
The guys at sun and ski are super helpful, offering great advice for bike maintenance and upkeep. They obviously spend a lot of time on and around bikes, and their knowledge comes through when you ask any questions. I fully recommend this store!

I’ve come in here several times for snowboard equipment and I’ve never had anything but bad service. The guys that work there are so disrespectful it’s unreal, they refuse to help you- you have to hunt them down for a question and then they act like you are wasting their time talking to you. I came in last night for the absolute last time- the manager was so impatient to close the store that they shut down the registers 10 minutes until their close and made me SO uncomfortable for being there. I refuse to support this place and will now drive to other places that are a little farther.
