I value consistency, and I have had consistently good experiences with this store for 2 decades. I buy parts on occasion, as the need arises. I have not used their repair shop. Sometimes they do not have what I need, but I do always check before going online.Pricing is usually in-line, and the staff has been courteous & helpful.

I recently moved to Charlotte and this bike shop was recommended to me. I’m so glad that it was - the staff is always so friendly and helpful! They all had great recommendations for routes to (safely) cycle around Charlotte and the surrounding areas. Every staff member is incredibly knowledgeable about the inner-workings of a bike too; sometimes I’ll ask a question just to learn more about my bike. Cycling can be an expensive sport and this place is no exception, but I always feel that I get my money’s worth when I take my bike to this shop. Great service and friendly, knowledgeable employees.

Dont waste your time going to any other bike shops. I pass three other shops just to get to Bicycle Sport. Their attitude, knowledge and experience mop any other shop in the area. Ive been there a handful of times for gear, accessories, repairs, installs and tune-ups; they do it all. And have much more to offer. Love this place!

Something Im very excited about the reason this shop came to my mind immediately is because a few years ago my husband was working at a restaurant in the neighborhood and he would ride the bus or walk when we didnt have the money. We were able to get him a bike for $20 from a pawn shop you get what you pay for but it was this shop that said hey let us tune your bike up for you. My husband replied I cant afford it and the employees said dont worry about it we see you everyday you work hard let us do this for you. It just goes to show the ownership the shop has because it trickles down to the employees and they showed love! We appreciate You!

This place is awesome. I usually try to avoid bike shops because I dont trust them. But I loveeeeed my experience here. Got my brakes adjusted for a very reasonable price. The bike tech was kind enough to explain what he was doing and even went above and beyond to adjust the positioning of my brakes on my handles for comfort and ease. I am very pleased with the service here and highly recommend. Was able to find parking at the back of the building which was also nice.

Very disappointed with the service. My bike was at the shop for about two weeks. When I arrived to pick it up, they charged me $300+ Right away even before I could check my bike and the work they did.When I checked my bike I learned they lost the cassette of my racing wheelset and told me to come back next week to see if they found it. Also they put a handlebar tape I don’t like at all. They didn’t even cared about asking the color I wanted. What a bad customer service! They don’t care about helping the customer at all. If you want bad customer service, waste your time and getting stuff lost without any type of remediation come to this place.

I googled this shop and found them to be open the day we wanted to have our bikes repaired after being in storage for a while. I called ahead to inquire the hours of operation before going there because of COVID19. When my daughter and I arrived the owner, as I was told, was very snappy and acted as if he did not want to serve us. I asked is everything OK? He said, Yes, Im just very busy! I said, Okay, and we are here to bring you business. Unless you would like us to go somewhere else. He replied no, I just may not be able to get it done today because I have a lot of work. I said, fine I wasnt expecting it to be done right away. He said, if it is just a tube replacement I may be able to finish it today. I said, OK! he looked at my daughters bike first and said this one is going to be a bit longer it has an issue with the brakes. I said, OK. We left the bikes and was given a return ticket.When we arrived the next day. I asked how much and he said I replaced the tubes and that was all that was needed. I asked about the brakes he said they were fine. I paid and we had the bikes loaded in the truck and we left. The next day we decided to go for a ride and noticed that the brakes had not been attended to or fixed as they were causing her wheels not to spin. I was furious, because my daughter could have been hurt. It was very clear as his demeanor changed with us and therefore obvious he did not want to serve us because he allowed me to leave knowing he didnt even address the brakes on my daughters bike. Which told me he did care for me or my daughter and didnt bother to give me the same service he gives to others. The first impressions are lasting. I would encourage everyone, that looks like me, to not use this shop.The young men he had working in the shop were pleasant and kind but the owner was not, he could learn something from those young men about courtesy and kindness no matter how much I paid for my bike or what you look like. I read the reviews from many who have had good experiences and I wish that I had been served the same experience. Take your money and your time elsewhere... if you look like me. This shop goes in the Green Book. Im happy for those whose experience was not like mine and that you are not judged and treated differently when patronizing a shop to receive a service.

Despite having to pivot and adjust during these challenging times to remain open, they were responsive, had fast service and went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed. STAY AWAY!!! This is most irresponsable business I have ever dealt with. Dropped my bike to get an easy brake repair. Called 3 weeks later for them to tell me they LOST MY BIKE. They lost it in all of their mess and that they could not find it. They kept looking for it after they found it, they tell me that have done no work to it because it was LOST. Their answer was its going to take another couple of weeks before we can get it to yo. If you want to get YOUR TIME WASTED come here.

I went in to see if they could fix my brake. They were super helpful and fixed it in 10 minutes and also pumped up my tires. I will definitely be going back for any other bike problems I may have.

Excellent old school bike shop. Ive been shopping at this shop for the past 20+ years or so when Thad used to own it. The new owners took what was already a great shop and made it even better. If you have a high-end road, mountain or classic bike, this is where youll want to take it for service.

Tim did an outstanding job in fixing and adjusting my bent derailleur while I was waiting at a very reasonable price. I have been to other shops closer to my home but none of them compare to the service level at Bicycle Sport so its always worth to drive the extra 10 miles. Thank you Tim

These guys are awesome. They really went the extra mile to win me as a customer. After I purchased my bike they invested an hour setting the bike up for me and teaching me the features. It was an outstanding experience.

I wanted to get a mountain bike for my 10 yr old son with a front suspension. Due to Covid, there are currently no bikes available anywhere for a long time. Ben helped me to come up with a perfect solution. We replaced the front fork of his Trek Wahoo with a new RockShox front suspension and added mountain bike tires. Now he has a perfect bike. Have been going to Bicycle Sport for years, and the great service and staff are the reason. They make it personal, aren’t pushy at all and explain anything you want or need to know. They deal in quality products, from super high end carbon race bikes to entry level cruisers or fitness bikes and everything in between. I’m not a regular by any means as I live nearly an hour away, but I love the shop and Ben and the guys definitely make it worth the drive.

This place goes above and beyond to take care of you and your biking needs. You get the time and full attention from the staff (and from Ben, the owner) once you walk into the store. I wont go anywhere else in Charlotte but here!

Purchased a Specialized at another store, always had shifting issues. Decided to let these guys look at it and they doggedly pursued a solution. Easily my favorite bike shop in Charlotte. The service is what keeps me coming back. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and never pushy. If you want frank advice on everything from tubes to sunglasses, this is the place.

I happen to live near this shop but would travel to get there. The guys that work there ride and that means they know what they are talking about - and the techs have been there forever. Some stuff is a little high end but there are choices down the line. I picked up a sweet Gary Fisher mountain bike for a healthy discount last year during the holiday sale. I also bought Sidi road shoes there 8 years ago that I still use - so quality pays anyway in the long run. And unlike the other reviewer I came in with a small problem and got help right of way saving my ride that day with no attitude.

This place is the best! They helped me pick out a bike that was perfect and helped me out by delivering it. All around, great place to get a bike!

We moved over the border to SC about a year ago and discovered that most of the bike shops are in the Charlotte area. Out of the 5 weve been to, Bicycle Sport is the only one we keep returning to.We initially shipped a couple of bikes through them then started buying gear there. This eventually led to the purchase of a new bike and the experience has been superb.They also have a huge selection of everything a cyclist would need and just the brands we were looking for. Their staff has always been extremely helpful and knowledgable. There are even weekly rides that meet at the shop.While its a little ways away from SC, it has been well worth the drive. You really cant ask for much more in a bicycle shop.

Been here a couple times. Never really been impressed with their selection of bikes or gear. Staff seem nice and friendly, and mechanics know their stuff, just too bad about the inventory.

This is my favorite bike shop in Charlotte and one of the best Ive ever been to. Heres why: What makes them such a great shop starts with the quality of the bikes they sell and carries over to the services they provide after purchase. Anyone can sell you a bike, the service is what makes you come back. This shop makes an effort to know your name, not just the owner but every employee. They have an excellent selection of road AND mountain bikes with a knowledgeable sales staff. They know what group rides are happening and can make great recommendations for you (just be honest about your abilities). And not just road rides, they have several well traveled mountain bikers who can make recommendations for great rides that are epic day trips(Pisgah, Dupont, Kerr Scott) as well as the local trail rides (BYT, USNWC, Sherman Branch). This is the perfect shop for someone just getting into cycling or the hard core speed racer type looking to shave grams and keep their rocketship tuned up. Thats an extremely rare balance to find in any bike shop. This is a special shop with many loyal customers, it is always kept clean, and has a diverse selection of bikes and accessories; for that reason, 5 stars!

Bicycle sport is one of the best bicycle shops in Charlotte. Its in a central location in Myers Park not far from anywhere in south Charlotte. The shop contains a very good amount of stock for a variety of bicycles ranging from single speed, urban, road racing, womens specific, Tri/TT, 26/29 inch mountain biking, and even folding. They also carry more stock of jogging strollers than anywhere else in Charlotte including the bigger chain retail stores. The mechanics Ive worked with there have all been really helpful and knowledgeable. The shop sponsors some good unsupported group rides. The only thing lacking is more stock of specialty high-end bikes like Cervelo, Colnago, Eddy Merckx, etc.
