Let me start by saying the service at s.tryon location is absolutely horrible and please, dontblame Covid because it was terrible before Covid hit.You go in to shop and there are no carts. You have to go back outside to retrieve a cart.The person that suppose to greet you never smile or even say hello. They must hate their jobs or have some serious issues at home.You ask them a question and their favorite answer is I dont know. Maybe two percent of associates are greatful to have a job.The shelves are never stocked, though the supplies are on the stocking carts, you have to pull from the carts. If they spend more time doing their job and not talking to one another, the situation would be so much better.Last but not least, prices are so high now but you have to check out your own items because theres only one maybe 2 registers open and the lines are in the aisles.I dont shop at Walmart like I use to, I find better deals and service elsewhere.
Well this Walmart is always bustling!! There are so many people that shop there that the lines are shockingly long.Reason being is they skip every other check out. Thats for Covid security so who should complain!I noticed the associates were putting up the Halloween costume and things associated with October 31st. Everything looked so nice to start with. After a bit the Halloween items were strewn everywhere. The customers seemed like they could care less about the time the associates put into the Halloween scenes. This is before and after.
Curbside pickup employee Derek was very unprofessional and rude. He had such a bad attitude when I asked him questions about my order, simply telling me to call some number for assistance. He spent more time chatting with other employees than actually helping me. Very appalled.
We came from out of town and left some things out of our luggage. I decided we should run by Walmart to get the missing items.We could not believe our eyes. Majority of the items were locked up. We had to get associate to unlock the cabinet to get what we needed. I’ve never seen anything like this. We asked her “is this because people do a lot of stealing” and her response was “you’ll be surprise”.I couldn’t check out any faster. Only to realize it was 4 lanes open for check out. The associate wasn’t helpful in the check out line. Rude. Not paying attention and act as if she didn’t want to be of assistance. WE WILL NEVER RETURN BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!
This review is for curbside pickupArrived in allotted time. Call the number on the sign to let them know I was there. It went to voicemail and I left a detailed message.No one ever returned my callAfter 10 minutes of waiting, I decided to download the Walmart app to check in.It seemed like a success. Until 10 minutes later I got an email that said I picked up the item and thank you for shopping at Walmart.The problem is, I have not picked up the item yet.I waited another 5 to 7 minutes and then decided to go inside.since I was doing curbside pickup, I did not have a mask and was sent out of the store.About that time a Walmart employee came out with a shopping cart full of items to distribute to the eight customers that were waiting for curbside pickup.He met me at my car and handed me my package. I asked why 10 minutes ago it showed that I picked up the item when I had not yet received it? He stated, thats just the way we do it.Really? Im guessing the employees are taking shortcuts and marking them as delivered before they go outside and deliver them.This is not a good practice as I was in limbo for 10 minutes wondering what to do.Seems to me I should never, never receive an email and text that say the item was picked up, when it was not yet picked up. Im just saying.
At this time doing covid, the shelfs was pretty empty,but the store was very clean.
Definitely an urban environment, a lot of people not wearing masks but I always find everything I need and the employees are knowledgable. Self checkout is always moving and store is clean the times i’ve frequented the store.
Not proud to admit that Ive been to most of them in and around Charlotte and this Walmart is by far the WORST! Never stocked, SUPER long lines and wait times, etc etc etc. AND the garden center is closed although the doors clearly say this door is to remain unlocked while building is occupied Someone call the fire dept 🙄
Closes at 11 should mean that they close at 11, not 10:30. Tried to swing by after work for a couple food items and NOPE doors locked. Thats fine, Im sure Food Lion is open.

The lines are horrible. They only have about 2 human cashiers and the lines are out the door with the self checkout aisles. But this is wal mart, what do they care about how their customers feel. Everytime you go in there shelves are empty with everything you looking for, and the lines are excruciating. Its horrible. You would think being a multi billion dollar company that they would try to do better for their customers and they know its happening daily and do nothing to try to fix it

My daughter and I was followed all around the store as if we was thieves. My daughter was accused and humiliated. After speaking with the three coaches who was on shift and was spoke to very rudely by renee, and 2 other females I will be filling a law suit. Not to mention showing the receipt with proof of purchase. Very upset of how we was treated. Not sure if it was bc my child is biracial or not but very upsetting considering I worked for Walmart as a manger for almost 10 years.
Nobody was at the checkout lines. The self checkout was out of this world. Will not be going to this location anymore.
Clean an organized but very little customer service help... one elder patron waited 15 mins at the jewelry counter after ringing the bell before i finally went an found her someone to assist her who..who then had to go hunt down the person that works the jewelry counter..then she showed up acting like it was bothering her to come an do her job.. the cashier i had was so unfriendly n cold even when i asked her questions cus im not from here she didnt even want to answer them..im from out of town but wasnt expecting terrible customer service like this.

Typical Walmart. I visited this location twice while in town. Once on Friday about 4 pm. The store was not crowded at all. The lines were not super long. I went back on Sunday to pick up a few items. The store was flooded with people. Every line was backed up. I left my items, because the liners were too long.
This place is crazy and disaster. I waited for so long at the cosmetic store to pick something from locked rack. Very poor maintenance at the store. No one cares when I hit the push button for help. Waste of time at this place. Poor management. At the end couldn’t buy what I need when I still can see it. Never again to this place.

1 Star... ordered an item for pick up here. They accepted it, said my order would be ready. Then 8 am the day of the pick up, I get a message saying they substituted my original item for something that isnt even CLOSE to what I actually ordered. Went from a tv cart to a wall mount, with no other option as to when my actual item would be in stock and told me it could take a week for their hold on my bank account to disappear. I have never seen a business decide that my item would be substituted with something else and then tell me to cancel it on pick up.

I had a poor experience just now at the S Tryon Walmart. As I was leaving the store the woman at the front took a look at me and my cart and then asked to see my receipt (this is obviously not insidious). However after she was satisfied after looking at my receipt, another group was leaving and they also had a full cart but she didn’t check their cart. The only difference is that I am black and she and the other group were white. After I asked her if she was going to check their cart as well she didn’t have an answer for me. This left me with a poor taste in my mouth I will not be back.
Shelves not well stocked. Employees are professional and helpful. Most of the electronics department is behind lock and key so the assistance line there is long.
This Store violating human rights by refusing to provide hot food because I am not warring face accessory.
Its good experience.... Staffs and Manager is very cooperative.I very much like breakfast with different varieties they provided every day with their catering service. only one thing i disappointed is weekly house keeping service some time they not do properly but hotel areas are very clean and higenic.
I love Walmart for obvious reasons. I miss the days when you could go to Walmart whenever you felt like it at any hour any day. Whitehall location is probably one of the best of the Charlotte locations.
I walked in store to purchase a cellphone around 9:25 Pm. Went to electronics grabbed phone card and wait ed in line for 20 min . then a store employee walks up and states we closed we closed😳 all rude and ghetto. I walked straight to a manager who got on her earpiece and asked employees for keys.. No one responded. The manager did all on her part. Im just upset because as a multi billion dollar chain this is unacceptable. I needed a phone bad! My phone broke and I have small children in daycare and needed it replaced before the next day. Employees need better training on how to interact with customers@!

Use to love it here, food has gone down hill and not much on your plate any more. Had the fried chicken and it was awful. Tasted like old cooked but kept heated too long. Very 😞

No carts in the store whatsoever. There were plenty sitting at customer service full of returns. The shelves to a minimum of nothing. I have never seen a potato chip isle so empty before.n I hope its stocked better on my next visit. Never enough cashiers. I had to wait 30 mins in line. we were down the ladys department isles waiting. Never ever ever enough cashiers. Always shut down self checkout before 11pm makes it worse!

A very nice and well stocked superstore. My only complaint was there was only one half of the self checkout kiosks available and only 3 human cashiers.
Overcrowded due to only a few registers open and the self checkout wont take cash so everyone is waiting for the cashiers, its at every Walmart Ive been in they are all the same! When you limit access and registers you have overwhelming lines that go halfway through the store, this is a pandemic and we shouldnt be crowded together but these new restrictions are making things worse!

They get restock frequently being on 485. Dont go after 8pm. Pretty shady. Staff is fine. Not the best, probably nicer then average. Same problem as most walmarts. Says they have something in stock, site forces you to go to store, just to find the shelf empty.
Big store with everything you might need or want. Walmart Supercenters always have me spending way too much time and money but I always find what I am looking for at a responsible price.
I had a horrible experience at this Walmart for curbside grocery pickup. My online order was scheduled for 6-7pm, but I received an email that it was delayed. At 7:23pm, I got an email that it was ready. I arrived at 7:50 and parked in the pickup area. At 7:53, I called the # on the sign and it went to a voice mailbox, so I left a message with my name and space #. No one came out or called back, so I called again at 8:03 and an associate answered. She immediately made a point to say they were closed as of 8pm. When I told her I had been there since 7:50, she said that she checked the cameras at 8:00pm and no one was there. I mentioned again that I had been there, had already left a vm, and there were other cars parked here as well. I then asked what we could do to resolve this issue, and she hung up on me mid-sentence. Ill never return to this Walmart.
There must be a high rate of shoplifting, because most of the merchandise is behind glass. You have to wait for an employee to open it (they usually come with an attitude). Dont stop here if youre trying to grab a few things in a hurry.
Big lots of good stuff was visiting family got a few souvenirs to take back too Michigan. Customer service was Excellent 👍🏽

I know it’s a Walmart so I don’t expect much but this Walmart is awful, the shelves are rarely organized stuff thrown, broken, lying around. The employees are unbelievably rude and not helpful at all, I’m new to the area so I went there a few times and anytime I asked employees where to locate something they never knew and weren’t willing to help me find it either. And secondly the customer service area is the worst, I was trying to make a return and I had to wait in the return line for about 45 minutes, there was only 3 people in front of me mind you. The Walmart employees went more out of their way to be rude and unhelpful rather then being kind and helpful. The whole time I waited in line one of the employees stood on her phone with her mask down eating food and talking to the employee that was doing refunds/customer service, I’ll add that one of the managers stood there in conversation with the ladies for a short amount of time but long enough to know that the line was going nowhere and instead of doing her job she continued to laugh and converse with her employees, so unprofessional! The employees didn’t greet you or make any effort to stay anything more then they absolutely had to.
You cant buy anything at this store because everything is locked in cases. Men socks, underwear, condoms, auto care, beauty supplies. You name it a simple 10 minute in and out trip takes over an hour. You are better off ordering online.
I went in to cash two checks I was able to cash one the other I was not. For no apparent reason. Ok still the employee I believe her name was Connie was super helpful she should be in management,she definitely has the personality and customer service skills it takes. Thats why I give them four stars. However the very heavy set man who apparently was the manager was rude. Did nothing to help the situation but chastised the employee that was trying to help me by saying you better get back on that register while he just stood there doing nothing but mean mugging me like get the hell outta here. I definitely will not be back to cash anything while hes working.

I went to the money gram to add money to my debit card, and this young woman helped me step by step in putting cash onto my card. This was my first time putting anything on my debit card. It worked! Thank you!!!
Place is OK, customer service s lacking. Was standing in electronics waiting to get something from a secure case. There were 2 workers behind the count, 1 checking out a customer the other just standing behind the other staring at her cell phone and talking. Completely ignoring me. I was finally helped by the worker at the register. This is why I do most of my shopping online now. Customers are not treated with any respect or kindness anymore. Its sad
The store was ridiculously crowded. Much more so than what Im used to. Unorganized in every area I went to. Checkout lines were nearly unbearably long. Had I not genuinely need what I was purchasing, I would have abandoned ship and ran out of there as fast as possible. The cashier working my checkout was back and forth between chatting on social media to scanning items causing checkout times to be unacceptable! I wont be going to this location again. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone in the world!

On this particular day it wasnt over crowded. I went in for 1 specific item, got in checkout w/ 2 items. Left in 15 mins from entering. I havent been here much since pandemic. The best times to go are 6a.m. in the morning on a Friday or Saturday.
Out of town, visiting and decided to shop. Unfortunately no buggies... Omg! Other than that good stock of items and quick checkout. Will be back. Would recommend the Superstore. God bless!
The prices are MOST definitely better than other grocery stores and the staff seems to have improved. The lines at the registers were not as badfrom my last visit 6 months prior.
Shelves have been empty of many things lately even though production of goods is up. Registers are rarely adequate for the number of people shopping. I have in the past stood in line for twenty minutes and been told the register was closing with the person before me. I refused to leave and placed my groceries on the conveyer belt and asked the register operator where I was supposed to check out. She did check me out but was not happy to do it. I have gone to the limited number of items register with a large grocery order and been told that the register was for a certain number of items. This was one of two registers open at the time and the other register had a line almost to the back of the store. I told the operator that she needed to notify her manager and not to make the lack of registers my problem. I was expected to self check out a grocery order of over $200.00 several times and have refused. This store has poor management. I suggest corporate needs to come in the store and do what it takes to improve it. I see groups of employees standing around griping about working there. I was told by one employee they couldn’t answer a question because she was on the way to her break, not on break but on the way to her break! The senior morning on Tuesday always has too few registers open. The reason seniors come early is to avoid being in the store for long periods of time only to have to stand in line for sometimes only one open register. Being in line increases the chance for exposure to the Covid 19 virus which seniors are more likely to contract. This store used to be a pleasant shopping experience. It is not a pleasant shopping experience now. I think more supervision is needed and employees need to be held accountable to do their jobs.
This Walmart only have two registers open (along with one self checkout area) in the evenings. You have to wait 45mins-1hour to be able to check out. I end up driving farther to a different location because this one is just a nuisance
It is sunday at 3:24 pm and there is only 3 cashier lanes open and the self checkout is only accepting cards . there are plenty of wrkrs walking around. So why not open up a lane or two? The lines are going through the store guys. I would normally go to self checkout but I hadWIC items which havr to be rang up by a cashier. 30 minute wait in line. Everything else cool.
Suprisely not that crowded if you go during the week. Try going early you will see more products in the shelves.
The absolute worst Walmart you could ever possibly go to. Zero customer service, 2 registers open at 2pm on a Saturday, and lines extending sometimes towards the back of the store from the register. Waited in line for over 40 minutes before being rudely and dismissedly checked out by and employee who was clearly disgruntled. Avoid this place at all costs if you can.
Aisles just didnt seem to be stocked fully, I understand they base products off of demographics, but man the selection was horrible.They had only 4 registers opened for custmers requring a clerk and the rest was self checkout. It was entirely too many people waiting in the clothing area for a register to open.
This Walmart is 2.7 miles from me and I drive 14 miles to the next closest one, this is the worst Walmart I’ve ever been to in the Charlotte area. Never fully stocked and anytime you get in line for check out rather than doing self checkout it takes at-least 45 minutes, and that’s not an exaggeration.
It was busy but its Walmart so that just tells me its repeat customers and I say that because I would return there myself, the staff was very helpful and kept the lines moving at self checkout, I was in and be out!
I wouldnt even give a 1 star. I did self checkout. The lady says as she has to come to my checkout to okay something. I step back always Im not wearing a mask. She says wheres your mask at? I said I cant wear one I cant breath with it on. She didnt like my answer I guess she gave me a dirty look and walked away. Please dont ask people where are their mask. You have NO right to ask me that. Have a great day.
Lines long and store is terribly unstocked and dirty. Poor cashier said there were 8 callouts! As much money as Walmart makes, they should have some employees. I wont be visiting this location again. Worst experience ever!

Definitely the trashiest, dirtiest, disorganized, and dangerous wal mart I have ever been in ever. Literally there was a busted beer bottle on 1 aisle, a busted gatorade spill on another and some sort of syrup busted on another aisle. Bathrooms were disgusting, there were 2 checkouts with there lights on so I picked the shorter line. The attendant was an older lady and was extremely slow but ooh well. We stood in line while she checked outthe people in front of us probably 15 minutes maybe 20 and as we were almost ready for our turn another lady that works there comes over and says this line is closed so I said well her light is on and we have been here and she hasnt said anything. Then she started getting rude so I left my buggy full of groceries right there with her. I feel like we were discriminated against because we were WHITE.
This store is better than most, the staff is friendly and helpful. The shelves are stocked, prices are the same as the tag on the shelf. The store is clean and organized.
This place was dirty and filthy. I was there about 11 am. Nastiness Walmart I have ever been in. I told one of the guys in his navy and yellow smock and he said dont worry about it. It get cleaned. I spent about 10 minutes and turned around and walked out. I ended up just going to the Family Dollar Store.
OK this place it is I disaster when it comes to check out.. We were ready to check out and there was about 80 people trying to check out with 3 registers open open and the self check out. The cashiers were moving at a snails paceAnd they didnt open up any other registers. Luckily we dont go there too often. It will be a long time before we go back. Walmart needs to get their people in their working so that they can get their customers outhe customers out and have a better experience.
This Wal-Mart has gone down. They cannot keep help and there are never any carts in thevstore. You have to grab one from outside. I try not to buy more than 20 items at a time because there are never cashiers and I just self-checkout. Otherwise youll be in line forever for the one cashier they have. I literally check Google maps before I go to see how busy it is so Im not waitung in line for over 30 minutes.
Luv this Super Walmart. Picked up cupcakes for my grandsons BD Party that were delicious! My go to store.

I called this store for literally 2 hours straight no one answered the phone. The day before I visited the store everything was closed by 6 customer service was closed. The bakery employees had already left so nobody could help me! This is SAD & insane!

This is the most disappointing walmart Ive been in since I lived in Montgomery, AL. They (corporate not the employees who are perfectly nice) treat everyone like a thief. They lock up face wash. They lock up pregnancy tests. How pathetically petty of a corporate garbage can do you have to be to hinder everyones experience of buying basic goods harder and take SO MUCH LONGER BECAUSE WE HAVE TO HUNT DOWN EMPLOYEES. If hell were real it would be replicated after a walmart. Would not recommend you ever do business here. Their online side is very disappointing as well. Nothing is what they say it is the 1st time.
Ask for somebody to unlock the drill case so I could buy hand drill for work and there’s four employees and went over there three times within 20 minutes to ask for it to be unlocked so I could purchase and guess who left with no drill because no one has a key because there’s no manager and four employees that has no access to be able to sell anything and the manager doesn’t have key either so you all lost my sale. Poor excuse for customer service!!! 🤦♀️
They have pretty much everything but what i like the most is that they open at 7am so for a quick stop before getting to work,now the employees suck they all have an attitude....

This is an ok Walmart. I go here because i live close to it but it’s not my first choice. Wish they had the hand baskets to carry Stuff in. It’s so inconvenient to have to push the big cart around or carry everything in your hands. Staff here is ok but not everyone is friendly

My experience at the store was just horrible. I asked a worker in the self-scanning area to help me scan my six items to avoid the long lines with a regular cashier and she quickly told me that she did not know how to do it so therefore I had to go to and stand on a long line to be checked out. I will never shop at this Walmart again poor service.
Pharmacy was great, helped me transfers meds for Washington State to here in NC
Customers hollering when we arrived, took multiple associates to figure out who could do a Rhino propane exchange, felt like I was interrupting chatting associates, garden center chec out was closed, long lines, more yelling from customers on way out. Had most of what we needed and at least 2 of the about 7 associates we interacted with were great.
Well tonight it was actually very good but when my children and I visited the night before last the cashier at the self checkout an older african american woman was very rude and uncooperative would not stop and answer a question my children had I dont know why the kids were very respectful and even after the cashier was rude to them they still were not rude back to her. If the woman didnt like her job then she needs to get another one and be respectful to the coustomers that approach her!!!
Horrible customer service experience, starting with your auto center, you must be desperate to have control of this place, your management placement standards are just deplorable, Im trying to be specific without the intention of being offensive, I know there might be good people working there, that really care about what they do but your auto center manager or assistant Manager (young Hispanic guy) is in my list as the most inadequate person for the job, thats just my 2 cents.....
Hope youre prepared to wait 1+ hour even on weekdays. What a waste of time and space.

Always find great deals, I typically use self check out and the Ladies who work that station keeps the line moving fast
