I can’t speak to Safelite’s repairs since I had my windshield replaced but speaking to replacement, they seem to have done a good job. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding after I wash my car or it rains. I have no reason to believe the replacement will leak but if it does, I will certainly update this post. Otherwise, it looks good and I’m satisfied with the service. I dropped the car off at 9:00 AM and it was ready to pick up before lunch time. My insurance didn’t cover the repair so it was inherently expensive but I knew the cost in advance when I made my appointment a week earlier. All in all, a good place to have your windshield repaired.
This is the kind of national chain store that people seem to love. I asked for a quote on a tiny rock chip. Was told that it would cost $150-175, and theres no guarantee that it wouldnt crack or break the windshield while they were fixing the rock chip. When I asked him why they charge so much I was told that it was because of their warranty! When I repeated back to him what he had just told me he just went silent. I know of locally owned places that will much less. Not my kind of place.
I called the number for my local Safelite. I was sent to a phone tree at a call center and was never given a prompt to speak to a human before the automated call hung up on me. I had a question about the services offered at their business and was not calling to schedule an appointment, which I understand is done online now. I went to the website and connected with the company via chat, but after an initial greeting, the companys agent stopped responding to all messages (I waited 30+ minutes with no reply). They may have the market cornered for windshield repair (and the quality of that is great), but their customer experience is truly horrible.
I recently had my windshield replaced at this location and was very pleased with the overall experience. I made an appointment through their online booking system and brought my car in to the service center (they also offer the option to have a technician come to your location). By the time of my appointment, payment had already been arranged through my insurance and there was no additional paperwork to fill out. They replaced my windshield in the span of one hour. The finished finished product looks brand new.I wish that all car maintenance experiences could be this easy!
It required only 15 minutes to repair my windshield. Brian did an excellent job. The entire shop is well run.

I appreciate that the tech noticed a flaw in my new windshield and let me know. Had to reschedule so they could get another windshield in, but Im thankful he noticed before it was installed that way. At my second appointment I was in and out under two hours with a new windshield and camera calibration.
I had visited Safelite for a tiny half-pea sized rock chip in my windshield. They did warn me that the chip can expand. They repaired it quickly, however, when I got the truck back, the chip was now a 1” long crack that did not appear filled. They brought this to my attention. I acknowledged the possibility of a crack and they assured me it should be strong and repaired although it looks worse than when I brought it in. Now, two months later I go to get my truck state inspected and it fails because the crack is now over 5” long in my drivers seat view. I contacted the store and asked about replacement or repair as the crack continues to expand, and I reminded them that it started as a tiny chip. They won’t work with me and expect me to pay for an entirely new windshield with no discount. Their warranty only covers a fraction of the replacement and I have gone as far to speak with the regional manager and he won’t work with me. Highly disappointed in their repair and their service. I went in for the smallest chip, and now have a large crack in my windshield that they won’t do anything with and that fails state inspection. I do not recommend at all.
My technician Abe came out to my house to replace my windshield, did a wonderful job,even vacuumed my car when he was done! We had a great conversation as well. I would recommend him and Safelite for sure. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. Truly a good person and a good company as this was the third time Ive had a windshield fixed or replaced and theyve always done a great job. ( Stones flying thru the air always seem to find me).
I went for an estimate and it was more money to fix the windshield then replace it. So I am replacing. What I dont like about this company, is they have no one to answer the phone. Modern times is not good customer service at all. AND they dont give you a real appointment. You have to wait around all day and how do you do that if, in the morning you are home and the afternoon you work? You would literally have to take a day off from work for a 2 hour appointment. I dont think that is fair to the customers. I will update review after work is done. Well, I might go someplace else, as I cannot wait around all day. Need a real appointment. Plus, I find it odd, this company has time to reply to reviews, yet, the customer isnt important enough to answer the phone to make an appointment.
My mother used this company & had the worse experience ever! They sent a man to repair her window he messed the electronics up in the car. She is so lucky he did not short the whole electrical system out she had to have a mechanic to fix the problem. The man put two dents in the door & still the door would not operate properly so my brother had to take the car to Charlottesville.Well guess what the window still is not correct she has to put the window down an inch so the door will close.My moms car is a Volkswagen convertibledo yourself a favor & save yourself a lot of time & headache use a different Safelite Glass company.
Handled my repair with style and ease. Needed an additional part so had to reschedule but worked me back in before the rain ;). Nice people and excellent service.

Ive tried 2 times now to get a windshield replaced on a 91 Benz. In each case 1 scheduled the appointment online since they no longer do this by phone and I tried to schedule a morning appointment, but was presented only with a vague all day 8:00AM to 5:PM, but that was OK since it was to be done on-site. The first time they never showed and I got a text about it being rescheduled, but they never showed up. I scheduled another appointment for today, Friday Jan.29. I received text messages the day before saying they would be here and another today asking if I wanted to be texted about progress of the job. But they never showed up.back in October I had them do a job on an 04 Benz and they showed up on time for an afternoon installation and did a fine job. But now? maybe theyre having staffing issues due to the Covid? But clearly something is wrong with them when they no longer answer the phone and fail to show up when I wait for them and dont provide explanation. For non performance what can I do but give them a negative rating? Suggest making another choice. If they contact me and make things right, I may edit my review, but for now it ONE STAR!!
Service was easy to set up and the technician called 25 minutes prior to arrival to let me know he was on his way. He explained the process and told me what to expect. You can still see the crack on my windshield but it looks much better now and is hardly noticeable. Thanks so much for providing a convenient service!
Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. Three weeks trying to get a windshield replaced. Brought the car in two separate appointments only to get a call an hour and a half after the first appointment and half an hour later for the second to say, sorry they couldnt install it, by that point I was already back at work. One glass came in and was obviously used, the second glass came in and it was scratched. I would think that they might inspect the windshields when they are delivered, but obviously they dont. Seems like a simple thing to do so you dont waste customers time, but nope.

Had a great experience with Safelite today. Went into to get my passenger window (which wouldnt go up) fixed. Already had a time and money estimate and the specific part needed had been ordered earlier in the week. The estimate for time and money both seemed like a great value which is why I chose Safelite. Left my car and got a call about 30 mins. later. They told me that everything looked fine technically but the passenger window definitely wasnt going up so they werent able to figure out the issue -- they thought it might be something electrical. They recommended I take it to the dealership to get it looked at instead of wasting my money at a body shop. They also told me that they put my window up (it had been down with trash bags covering it for the last week) and disconnected the motor so I wouldnt accidentally put it down again. Got there to pick up my car, asked what I owed and they told me nothing! Its so great to find a place that is honest and doesnt repair anything that doesnt need it (they couldve stuck the part in there and just said done and charged me but didnt) and the fact that they took their time to look, try and diagnose the problem, give me an alternate solution, and still put my window up and didnt charge me a thing for their time spent was great. Will definitely be back here for any of my window/windshield needs.

I have a 2017 GMC ACADIA with a lane departure feature. I travel a lot for my job and sure enough a construction truck in front of me destroyed my window shield with one a piece of flying debris. My insurance would not cover it because the crack was more than 6”, so I started pricing out a replacement window. This company wanted $739.99 and all appointments must be booked online, in other words, you cannot speak to a live person.Then I found AutoGlass Now, real people answer the phone, and the price was ONLY $245, plus they are including a free chip repair due to the amount that I travel. Save you $$ and look at alternatives!
I used them for a insurance claim for a front windshield replacement on a 2017 Kia Niro Hybrid, the whole process of appointment and the time it took to finish was great and was impressed in that regard.However, after getting home I noticed that the center mirror sensor io shield was left just dangling and they either put the snaps in the wrong place or they installed the complete wrong part. Also they did not provide replacement snaps for my EZPass as they said they would put it back. Almost left but went back in and they did give me replacement ones. It is a small thing but having to deal with multiple insurance calls and the inconvenience of having to go back is a pain. As a service things should be done correctly the first time.Staff was polite and courteous however I would not recommend based on my experience.

If youre willing to make the drive, go to Windshield City in Harrisonburg instead. Safelite wanted $430 for what Windshield City did for less than $200.

I have now had to reschedule my appointment with safelite five times. The first time, the technician called me and said what time he would be here. I asked if he could come back 30 minutes later because i had an appointment and I never heard anything back. The second and third time, the technicians were sick, which is fine. That happens and that’s a good reason to need to reschedule. Today, though, I waited all day for a call for an estimated arrival time. At 12:27, I got a text saying that the technician would be at my house around 12:35. I thought to myself that I was thankful that I was home because if I hadn’t been, then I wouldn’t have gotten my windshield fixed. But, that didn’t matter because it never got fixed anyways. I waited for the guy to come. My car was unlocked and there were multiple other cars in the driveway because people were home. 1:30 came and nobody, out of the 5 people and 3 dogs in the house, ever heard any knocks or anything. I went outside to grab something from my car and there was a note saying “Sorry we missed you” hanging on the door and I thought to myself, but you didn’t miss me? I’ve been at home, all day, waiting for you even though I had other stuff that I needed to get done? The guy never knocked or anything. I called the store, told them what happened, and said that I wanted someone to come out and fix my windshield today like I was scheduled for. I don’t think that was an unreasonable request all things considered. However, the manager seemed to not care. He said “we can’t get anyone out to you today. I’ll reschedule you for Tuesday” as if it wasn’t a big deal and I don’t have anything else going on in my life. I’m not typically one to leave bad reviews and I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt because i understand that things come up. But, this has been ridiculous. I have been trying to get the windshield crack fixed for over a month. It’s cold outside and it keeps getting bigger. Soon I’ll need my whole windshield replaced if they keep flaking on me. I’m fed up. If this is how a business treats their customers, then they have no right running a business at all.
My appointment for windshield replacement was 2pm but I arrived early, around 1:15. They took me in quickly and worked on the vehicle for 45 minutes. I was out of there by 2:05.
Expensive in the Charlottesville area but pay for excellent customer service and quality of work.

Went in with a small chip and after the repair I now have a 3-inch crack that requires an entirely new windshield. Safelite will not cover any unsatisfactory repairs aka further damage that they cause. I understand the difficulty working with glass but I find this to be unacceptable that they can cause further damage and not cover the cost to make it right. Customer Service rep was completely unapologetic and said that it was Safelites policy.
Had back glass busted out at baseball game on Thursday night. Made an appointment at 10:00 that night. Friday at 2:30 our glass was replaced. Great customer service and fast work. Thank you for great service

The website is extremely easy to use. They use texts, emails and phone calls to keep you up to date with when to expect them to arrive. They are very friendly and informative about the work that needs to be done. They were not upset when it was discovered that the windshield needed to be replaced instead of repaired which also meant an additional trip. They were willing to make sure I was treated fair with respect to cost. Lets face it, having any sort of work done to your car is a pain but Safelite definitely made it as painless as possible. A great experience!!!

I had cracked windshield due to a rock hitting it while driving on the interstate. When I called my insurance company they got me lined up with Safelite. The service was great, they were fast and they provided me with all the information I needed to be aware of after the replacement. Plus they even installed new windshield wiper blades! Of course it cost extra but it wasnt anymore than you would pay by going out and getting them yourself.

Unhappy with workmanship - this is after I filled out their email survey praising the prompt service. Less than a week after replacing the windshield, they rear-view mirror unglued itself and fell off. The problem is that my wife with three kids are on the road for 1000+ miles trip. They offer warranty service in any of their stores, but this will cost us extra hotel stay because their shops close at 5pm.

I was very pleased with the service I received at Safelite. I had my windshield replaced and had been expecting to wait 90 minutes to two hours. The job was completed in exactly one hour! Also, all my windows were washed, and the front foot wells were vacuumed. I will definitely recommend Safelite!

Received an unreasonable quote for a replacement of a windshield. I figured this company would have decent pricing. they were asking for $350 to replace a windshield. I called other places and found a cheaper quote. when I called to cancel my appointment there did not seem to be any concern on why I was cancelling. The lady did not seem to care about her competitor prices or more importantly losing a customer. extremely unsatisfied with the customer service in general.
I was a bit disappointed with this place. I had broken the rear window in my truck and the weather was nasty so I popped in there hoping for some quick help. I felt they were a bit patronizing and also told me it would be three days before I could have an appointment. So I went home and called another outfit. They came right out to my home within a half hour and replaced the window right in my driveway for less than Safelites estimate for doing it in their shop.
The technician came out to our home to change a windshield. Scheduling was very easy, he was on time, he explained the process, and was very friendly and professional. And he vacuumed the car when he was done. Wed highly recommend Safelite.

Another collision center broke the clips holding the black strip along the side of my windshield causing the strip to flap at highway speeds. Safelite was extremely helpful and quick fixing this problem. Theyd be the first place I go to with another windshield issue.

We were told on Friday that our window would be replaced on a Monday. The glass for our Concorde did not even arrive until Wednesday. On Thursday morning I received a bill receipt showing that my account had been billed before I even had a chance to inspect the work. The time stamp will verify that. It was not until I reached home and opened the door for the first time after closing it before leaving the shop that I discovered that the door handle had been been broken. I had to manipulate the broken handle to get the mechanism to close enough for the door itself to even latch shut securely. Later that day my wife Pam discovered that the lock/unlock switch would only function to lock. When moved to the unlock position there was no response. When I myself tried to use the switch it came loose enough to recede into the door panel, whereupon the switch lever was impossible to access, becoming completely unusable.The technician doing the work should have known that the installation was defective, that the door handle had been broken and that the lock/unlock switch was inoperable and improperly re-installed during the window replacement process.
Visited this location to replace the windshield on my suv. When I arrived for my appointment they looked it over with me then took it right back and were finished in an hour, and did a professional, clean job. Will recommend. The gentleman at the front desk is very friendly and helpful.

Have had windshields replaced on two cars within the past year. Very easy to deal with, efficient. Typically, done within 90 minutes or so.
Lady was nice and punctual but seemed to lack experience. She did not ask me if she could lay heavy equipment on the hood of the car after i left her momentarily with my car alone ....i was worried that it will have dents after that.... then left scratches and marks on the car around the area that she worked on. I pointed out to her about the marks and she tried to clean them out with glass cleaner but there were residue glue marks and scratches on my black car that could not be fixed with window cleaner. I was so frustrated that i just wanted her to leave and not cause more damage. I was left frustrated. i dont even know if my windshield was properly fixed.

The employees are nice but the service makes so many mistakes. They brought the wrong glass to me 4 different times, failed to contact me when they said they would (about rescheduling to get the new glass in, after they brought the wrong glass), and made mistakes with scheduling. I have finally learned my lesson and will never use them again.

After Safelite replaced our windshield, we realized the windshield wipers were hitting each other. I took the car to their shop and they had it fixed within 7 minutes. Wow.
This company is rather good of replacing the window with a new one but unfortunately the technician I had didn’t know what he was doing when he went to take my inspection sticker off to put it on the window sheild I have glass in my inspection sticker and I believe this is wrong way to fix things.

Ive used this company two prior occasions with excellent results each time. I would discount the one negative opinion about this location. Unfortunately, I have to call them, again.
Safelite damaged the wiring in my vehicle. They do not stand behind their work and have made no attempt to help me. I returned to the shop and instead of assistance, I was accused of pulling wires out myself!!! He finally changed his story and admitted my car had a part they werent used to handling. I waited with my car. If they didnt know what they were doing, they should have left it alone! Since then, I have contacted the Safelite office several times but cant even get a call back. Fortunately for me, my car is brand new (8,000 mi) and still under manufacturer warranty. Since the dealer recommended them, they feel responsible and thankfully are helping.
