Have had consistently bad customer service experience here. For example: telling me theyll call when vehicle is ready to pick up and then buy doing so, staff being confused about what I need help with (new tires - youd think this would be their area of expertise), having to bring the vehicle back because of a tire pressure light coming on after they changed the tires because they didnt recalibrate the car computer with the new tire pressure after replacing the tires (and again, being confused when I came in for this.)Will definitely avoid in the future. The shuttle driver was really friendly. The rest of the staff seem ill equipped to do their jobs, including things that should be within their core competencies.

Getting backed up is understandable, not communicating with the customer is not. We had our vehicle towed to University Tire & Auto at Seminole Place and was told they could put two new tires on by noon. We arrived to pick it up at 4:45P and it was not ready, they asked if we wanted to wait, they could get it done in about an hour. We chose to leave it overnight with. the promise that it would be ready by 7:45A the next day. We arrived the next day and it still had the bad tire and they could not tell us when it would be completed. I will not use University Tire & Auto again. POOR COMMUNICATION.

Pricing is good, but service is only so so. Repeated errors on a simple work order.

I was new to the area and needed an inspection for a recently purchased vehicle. Other shops I contacted did not have availability for weeks and/or were very rude in person/over the phone. This business was a complete juxtaposition. Excellent customer service and a same day turnaround. This place earned my future business.

This is the first negative review Ive ever taken the time to give a business. I scheduled an oil change and inspection for 8:30AM, was informed the car would be ready in a couple hours so I opted to wait at the shop. My car was not ready until 3:20 pm, and they didnt even bother doing the oil change despite me checking in and having a pre approved appointment for that oil change. I understand people make mistakes and there are oversights, but when you make the business aware of the mistake and they do absolutely nothing to rectify it, that’s inexcusable. They didnt bother offering to just do the oil change on the spot or anything. Waiting 7 hours for an inspection is silly enough, not doing the service listed on the appointment is just negligent and lazy.

This shop has provided probably the worst service I can imagine when it comes to getting your car back fixed.....or at all. My car was towed here and at first they said all it needed was new coils and plugs for 1500. They first said that should be done in a day or two. After waiting at least 4-5 days, I called back and they said I was also gunna need a set of 3 converters for another 2k. They said they just needed to order the parts and once they had them it should only take a few mins for them to install. I have now waited over TWO WEEKS for them to install these parts, and I call them basically every morning to hear some form of the same excuse. “Must be fed ex losing the order in packaging” or some variation. Multiple times they have blatantly lied and said the part would be coming in on certain days/time, but to no avail, a bad excuse always follows. I needed to have my car to drive home over a week ago and now I’m stuck in cville waiting for this shop to actually do their one job. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!

I dropped off my sons car this morning at 9am !!!!! I asked for inspection and oil change. I was told they would call me with any problems and that they had 6 cars ahead of me. I go back at 3:30 to pick up the car from Fluvanna to be told they never got to the car for anything today !!!! No one called to tell me that at all !!!!!!! Even though I was told they would get to the oil change at least, nothing was done !!!! Customer service sucked because they didn’t even care !!!!! My son works and attends school. We do not have time for this. I used to like this place and I was their very first customer when it first opened years ago. I will NEVER go back !!!!!!! If you want your time wasted go there. But if you want work done to your car then I suggest to go somewhere else.Pathetic. Just pathetic.

This was the best experience I ever had at University Tire. The customer service was great. I requested certain services and Jared explained why I shouldnt get it. Most places wouldnt care because they want the money. But not Jared, he took good care of me.

I would recommend caution when dealing with this place. They have very shady practices. I ended with a bill 10 times (no exaggeration) higher than what had been communicated to me because they decided to do a bunch of work on my car. I went over to another garage afterwards and was told they regularly charge customers for unnecessary work. Avoid if you can.

The quality of work is decent and they are fairly competitive with there pricing. However the service is extremely slow I was told the work I was having completed on my vehicle would take approximately 1.5 hours. 3 hours later I’m still here and waiting on my vehicle to get finished it’s been sitting in the garage after probably half the work has been completed and they have moved on to other vehicles so I think they are inconsiderate of there customer time and that needs to be improved if they want to stay in business

Dont bother making an appointment online, its still a first come first serve thing. There is also a long wait for the shuttle so be prepared.

University Tire and Auto came through last minute on a Saturday afternoon. They gave a fair price and time estimate and stuck to it. They replaced our tires and got us back on the road.

It seems that your service really is based on the people working at the time - I’ve had a great experience at their Ruckersville location. I popped a tire and went here because it was the closest tire shop. It took AN HOUR (during a slow period) to change the spare to a full-sized tire, and I was told that my brake pads were a millimeter from needing to be replaced. I declined, and when I got to my usual mechanic and asked them to check, they gave me a completely different measurement and said the brake pads were more than fine. People looking to not pay for unnecessary maintenance: beware.

I received exceptional service from Dale as a first time customer ! I went to the airport rd location first and was a disaster and when I called this location Dale went over and beyond to see that I was a happy customer and corrected what they did wrong ! I highly recommend this location !!

I brought my vehicle in for an inspection and it was rejected due to an issue with the brakes according to the inspector and that I would need about $500.00 of brake repairs. Initially I was told the rejection was based on an area on the outer perimiter of the rotor which had rust. That area is not covered by the brake pad and my understanding was that it should not be an issue for rejection. I took my vehicle to another reputable inspection facility and that inspector said the brakes were fine and he gave my vehicle a passing inspection. I returned to University Tire and Auto and spoke with Dale the manager. I also spoke with the Virginia State Police to get further clarification. The bottom line is that there are sometimes issues with vehicle inspections that may appear to be a gray area and open to somewhat differing opinions concerning what can pass inspection and what cant. The positive aspect that I will say about University Tire and Auto at Seminole square Shopping Center is that all the employees were polite and professional and Manager Dale took the time to resolve the issue. Thank you Dale.

I hate writing bad reviews for businesses...but I’ve had brakes worked on twice. This last time they charged $1000 for rotors (way too much but I was in a hurry) and after my car was clanking around so I took to to another shop and found out they had installed the rear pads backwards, there are even tabs to prevent that. The spring was literally pushing on the opposite caliper.The other time I was quoted a big fat price for brakes I actually called another shop in town to get a quote after I was told what university was gonna charge me, the other shop was $400 cheaper. When I called university back to say I was gonna go elsewhere they said they would do it for the same price. So, you know, the price was a $400 overcharge...

This is about a month overdue but I just wanted to say. I’m a student and I had an issue with my tire. When the folks down at W Main were rude to me and unhelpful, these guys were incredible nice. They answered all my questions, and were honest about the work they did - they didn’t charge me unnecessarily and got the work done quickly. I want to shoutout Matt, the guy behind the counter. He was so nice and patient to both me and my mom and I really really appreciate it. If his manager is reading this he needs to get a raise!Thanks for the honest pricing and great service! Came in early for an oil change and the guy at the front desk says it’ll be about an hour. So I just waited because it’s only an hour. Two hours later of waiting and I still haven’t heard from them. Finally went to the front desk and asked about my car and oh it’s actually been done! It’s just that a truck was blocking it. So I guess I was just supposed to wait till the truck was also serviced so I can leave?

Went in for an oil change yesterday. Fantastic service, communicated effectively, super friendly. Many of my friends recommend them and I would do the same. I’m very paranoid about car repair shops and they’ve put me at ease with them. Will be going there in the future for sure.

I was given an estimate of $600 + to have my alternator replaced. That price didnt sound right to me, so I bought a new alternator for $180 and did the job myself in under an hour.These guys just reinforced my fear of being ripped off by auto repair shops. If I didnt have so much experience fixing and maintaining my own vehicles I might not have known any better and just paid the $600 plus. I recommend getting a few quotes from some other shops before assuming any estimate these guys give you is a fair price.

I spent a non-productive day for a regular oil chain. Horrible customer service. Lack of professionalism. I arrived at 7.45 am for an appointment at 8am for an oil change. I waited for 3 hours in the facility and the car was not ready yet. I returned home with a taxi (10 extra bucks). They called me around 6pm. They said they did not have a courtesy shuttle at that time. Another taxi cab to get there. Never more!

Came in today to have 4 tires put on my car and like always I had the best experience ever. Tim was very polite and gave me options that fit my budget I have to say from start to finish this shop is very polite,courteous and professional with great prices. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (and their response to my review is also a lie, they did NOT offer or in any way try to make ANYTHING right and they WERE made aware of the issues because I brought them to their attention. They did NOT try and fix anything then and they have NOT tried to make it right now either)!!! I had a flat tire on I-64 and I had my van towed here to get a new tire. They put on a new tire, I asked for the road hazard coverage (which I have on ALL of my tires on ALL of my vehicles) and I thought everything was great. Key word in that last sentence is thought. Less than an hour later I had ANOTHER flat tire! Guess which tire? Yes, the very same tire that they had just replaced!!! I should add that the tire I bought was a BRAND NEW tire. Not a used one! I had my van towed back to this place. They advised me that one of my rear leaf springs was broken and that is what popped both the first tire and then the new tire. I asked why they didnt see that the first time they replaced the tire and they had no reason. I looked at it and you could EASILY see that it was broken and had a sharp edge. And from the damage from my first tire, they should have been looking for a cause from something like this. There is no excuse for this kind of incompetence. And to top it all off... they told me that I had not asked for road hazard, when I had expressly asked for full road hazard coverage on the new tire!!! So I had to buy ANOTHER new tire, pay to fix the spring and they did NOT even apologize for ANY of their mistakes!!! I spent money on TWO tows, two tires and lots of wasted time. It could have ALL been avoided had they done their job correctly the first time. Ruined my day and cost me lots of money I did NOT have to waste!!!! No one wanted to help me in person that day. I called in several times after it happened and NO ONE wanted to admit that they had done anything wrong and they refused to make it right. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Please also note that I DID let them know on several occasions and give them the chance to make things right and they DID NOT in any way admit that they were at fault or even try to correct ANY of their multiple errors! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Monday, April 30, 2018, I desperately walked into the Seminole Trail University Tire Auto Center to get a state inspection.I was attended to in a timely manner and given an approximate time the service would be completed. In addition, it was suggested that I needed an oil change.All of the service was completed within an hour because a couple of customers was ahead of me. The staff especially Travis was very attentive, helpful, respectful and professional.I left 100% satisfied.I will definitely return for auto service in the future.

Nathan and team did an awesome job. Had an unexpected issue with wheel bearings that left me stranded. Auto was towed directly to University Tire and the team handled it from there. Assessed the entirety of the issues, provided great communication in explaining the extent of the damage and complete the work in no time. Up and running for a week with no problems. Good job guys.. I had my car in for an oil change and tire rotation using a coupon I had received in the mail. I had a wait, as you might expect for service. However, they did everything they said they would do and I felt I received good service and a very good value. If you are looking for a place that would do good work at a good price, this would be one to consider.They have a number of locations so I cannot comment on the other locations, only the one where I actually was a patron.

Today was my first time at the university tire and auto, everyone there are so friendly and professional! June, the company car driver was very nice, came picked me up right away when I needed to go get my car while I was on my lunch from work. I came for an inspection and oil changes, I’m definitely coming back to university tire and auto, thank you!

Friends at work have gone to get new tires here and were happy with the price and the service they received. So I went to this location because it was convenient. I had to wait a little to get the job done, but I expected that. This was a good transaction, I felt that I received good service in a nice place that knew what they were doing. I felt good about this business and think I will recommend it to others.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I felt like I was considerably overcharged there. Later in my home city my regular garage mechanic was also of that opinion. Some of the work had to be done again.

Great service. Our daughter broke down in Charlottesville from out of town and the tow truck brought her car here. They were very honest and upfront with us. Our car unfortunately was not repairable and we ended up donating it to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. University tire and auto let us keep the car there until the Foundation could pick it up and didn’t even charge us for diagnosing the problem (bad transmission). 😢 Highly recommend!!!!!

We have been taking our cars to University Tire Seminole for years for oil changes and any needed work. Bill always gets us in quickly and keeps us updated through the whole process. The mechanics are great about explaining what work needs to be done and why .

Very helpful staff. Out of towner and had a long drive ahead. They changed a tire in under an hour even during an extremely busy Saturday morning rush and at a great price. Would highly recommend.

Went in for a state inspection, and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Very quick! I made an appointment online and was contacted almost immediately to schedule it. You can’t make appointments after 4 (but I believe this is a state law). The appointment process was quick and easy, and the person emailing with me was very professional, and the staff were all very nice as well.

Best guys in town. Don’t even think about going anywhere else. Honest, genuine, experts.

Had my car towed here at night due to a blown tire. I received a call in the first hour of service the next day that the tire had been replaced and everything was good to go. Excellent service, fantastic staff.

I have been a faithful customer of University tire for years now...most recently Brandon helped me get new tires on the truck of a friend whose husband is deployed and found herself with dry-rotted and leaking tires. Brandon not only gave me the best price in town, he was able to install them on a moments notice while I waited. These guys have always been my go-to and I would recommend them highly.

Dale was especially friendly and helpful but this was the 1st time taking my car there ... needed a state inspection ... there were a couple of quirks and basically the jury is still out 😒 well the jury is in and I have to lower my original rating from 3 to 1 ... this is most unfortunate cuz I am in need of an excellent, consistent, reasonably priced and trustworthy repair shop ... but the last time I took my car there I had been in an accident and I believe their rotating my older tires to the front ... I have front wheel drive ... and my new tires to the back was at least partially responsible ... of course I was told that wasnt a factor ... and would not work with me to fix the exhaust that was pushed back from the engine and was told I needed a brand new catylic converter ... this might be true ... but I am no longer trusting them ... they quoted me $971 and change ... which I didnt/dont have ... and the time before ... before the accident ... I wanted pricing to fix some power windows and power lock and was also quoted $900 something ... I could be wrong but it just seems too fishy to me 🤔

I went to university tire three weeks ago for an oil change, power steering fluid replacement, and new brake pads. After driving it for a week, my car was still making weird noises when I turned the steering wheel. I called and asked if anyone could look at it before I went on a long road trip and was told that they were backed up and couldnt get to it anytime soon. There was no kind of customer service or recognition that they might have caused the problem.A week later, I took my car to a trusted mechanic in my hometown for him to assess the problem. He said that the brake lines werent re-attached properly.I wont be taking my car back to university tire.

I called and scheduled an appointment for the next day at 7 am when they open. Woke early, drove 20 minutes into town, got there at 7:01, and was told that the woman who took my reservation should have announced that they would need a three hour window for my car inspection. A backlog from the day before meant I definitely wouldnt get service until 10. Guy at the desk tried to be helpful and offer a ride, but I left and will give my business to someone else. The whole notion of a reservation is that they reserve the time. Even an hour wait I could have dealt with creatively. Three hours?! No way.

Brent the owner was awesome. I have been paying high dollar for tires my whole life. They are the best aroun. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Ill never go anyplace else again. Top notch.

Some of the best service I have ever received! Not only are they good people, they are extremely knowledgeable. I was having tire issues and took it to a dealership and another tire store and neither could fix it, but they fixed it with ease.

I go out of my way to use the Seminole Square location in Charlottesville. Always professional, courteous and fair. Today they drove me to work and delivered my vehicle back to me at work. That is great customer service!

They got me in and out quickly, but didn’t sacrifice service for speed. The staff was friendly, the lobby and bathroom were both clean and neat. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience and will certainly be a repeat customer!

I wouldnt even give it a 1 star I would have given it a 0 or a - number. They rebuilt the top of my motor and it still was knocking afterwards. They charge me over a 1000 buck to fuel pump in my truck which they charge me 2 times for taking the tank out of the truck once to put the fuel pump in and once to get the gas out of the fuel tank which wasnt even 2 gallons. The only way they are getting 5star it must be the owners Larry friend or Adams or onnie friends. I allso was there when a tech came in and told the service manager a customer needed a alternator cause it was charging 13.8 volts and I am allmost 100% sure a good one does between 13.8 to 14.3 i could be wrong but she didnt need one. My truck spent 3 months there I spent over 13grand there and finally had to take me truck somewhere else to get it fixed. I repeat do not go to any of them they are a big big big ripe off learn from me please.

Very honest auto center that is Triple AAA approved. I would recommend them during state inspection. They will repair nail in tire and rotate my tires free.

Decent place to go for tires, but I wouldnt get anything else done there. Tried to get a simple repair done and they told me the part would take about a week. Showed up a little after a week later and they told me that they couldnt check on the status of the part and I would have to come in again the next week. Came in the next week and they told me they couldnt do the repair after waiting around for them to call for a half an hour or so. Seems like they could have just told me that in the first place instead of jerking me around for a couple weeks.

Let me share my experience with University Tire and Auto last week. My vehicle was overheating. I took it in to have it looked it. It needed a new radiator fan. University Tire and Auto quoted me $1,967 for a new radiator fan. Im by no means an automotive expert. But this seemed out of line. Sure enough, one phone call later, I found that the fan costs less than $400. I called back to ask how long the labor involved in the installation was. Less that two hours I was told. The part was being quoted at $1,100. I asked if I brought the part to them if they could install it. They said they could not. I took my car to another shop that afternoon and had the work done for $600. BEWARE AND GET OTHER QUOTES BEFORE LETTING UNIVERSITY TIRE AND AUTO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE.

I brought it in to get some tires mounted, balanced, and installed. Dropped it off around 11 and picked it up around 3. They didnt try to sell me any additional services or parts (which is fantastic!). However, I drove off to pick my boys up from school and started noticing a thumping sound that increased with wheel speed. I know I have a worn out component on that wheel, and I figured it had finally broken (parts already in the mail). Anyway, had to get my boys on time, so I went the rest of the way home with the thumping turning more into a clunking the farther I drove. When I got home, one of the wheel bolts fell out as I turned into my driveway. I immediately checked the other bolts one that wheel and they were all loose except that one must have fallen out along the way. I made it home with 3 instead of 5.Moving on, I called in to notify them and they were very apologetic and said they would have a new one for me to pick up tonight.In my mind, a mistake was made, but the company made it right, so all is good.

If you win a lottery, it might be good place to service your car. My car got towed to that place and I paid almost $600, only a few dollar short of that amount, to replace the starter with a remanufactured one. I felt I got well taken advantage of since I didn’t call in ahead for an estimate. Not worth it for your hard-earned money.

Excellent service and hospitality. I needed a tire on special order and they kept me posted on my tire situation since it was taking than expected to get to the store. They tracked the tire for me without me having to ask.

I have been bringing my car to University Tire and Auto at Seminole Court for several years for oil changes and tires. Nearly all of the time service is very slow. Today it took over 2.5 hours to put on 4 new tires. Always further service is suggested, and at least half of the time a I have found through a second opinion that that further service is not needed. The people are pleasant, but I cant say I trust them. And they certainly dont respect their customers time.

Ive had tires installed, alignments and some other service done over the last three years or so and the service has been very good. My wife had an alignment and balance done and although she did have to take it back once to get it tuned in a little better they took care of it promptly at no charge. They will inspect your brakes at no charge also. Shop around for tire prices but I think they will match competitors pricing.

I dont know if I could ever say enough positive things about University Tire & Auto! We were broken down in Charlottesville (while being from Knoxville) with a car that we had just purchased a few weeks before. Bill worked with us the whole time and did more for us than the dealership we bought the car from! Bill knew that we were from out of state, in a hurry to get home. He had our car looked at in just a matter of time and he sat with us while we were on the phone with the dealership that we bought the car from. He even called Chevy to check on the warranty on our car and found out that we did still have one. We would have ended up with a pretty high bill due to the work that needed to be done, but thankfully he sent us to Chevy and GM was billed for all of the work. Bill and everyone at University made our situation so much better. I would recommend anyone and everyone to visit them!

I came here for the first time for an oil change and a state inspection. overall this was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend UTAC to others. One recommendation, would be for the lobby to stock more ladies magazines aka, people, us, cosmopolitan etc. I will be coming back to this location for all my vehicle service needs.

I just spent three very wasted hours waiting for my car at University Tire and Auto in the Seminole shopping center. I went in for a State inspection - $16 and came out with a $49 bill. They told me it would take an hour, hour and a half max (quote when I signed in) and I was there just under three hours. I even left with my four year old and walked her clear across the shopping center for a long lunch and came back over an hour later and they hadnt even moved my car into the garage yet. There was actually another patron in the waiting room sleeping hed been waiting for so long - longer than Id been there. They offered to put my new plates on for me and charged me $18 for the trouble - ridiculous. I could have done it myself while I was waiting if Id known the cost. They told me they wouldnt scrape any of the stickers off my windshield - I asked specifically - then proceeded to do it anyway then got huffy when I asked for my stickers back. I understand now that its a State law, but then be honest about it when I ask. I would have asked for them to be careful and save them for me - it wouldnt have been a big deal, but I dont appreciate being misled. They said a light above my plates was out and needed replacing to pass inspection - another $13. Who knows if this was true - I just had an inspection in March before moving to VA - passed without incident - but you have to trust them when they have your car hostage. Trusting them led to an over inflated bill and a totally unreasonable wait time. Did I mention they were surely and rude as well? Will never EVER go here again or any of their other locations.

I had a tire with a small slow air leak that had lasted several weeks, but could never find a nail, screw, or any other source for the leak. Finally stopped in to get it checked out. They did a free inspection and found that the leak was due to the tire not being properly sealed with the wheel. They fixed the problem by adding more sealant at no cost.Hopefully the leak is permanently fixed. Will go back to these guys again for any new tire issues if their fix works.

I thought they did a great job with my 60k mile tune up and right CV axle replacement but I had two leaks under the hood 2 weeks later. I found out they had put the WRONG CV axle replacement on my vehicle (leak #1) - the poor fit was why there was a leak Also they did not seem to notice my radiator was damaged while fixing everything else (leak #2). I thought their service was thorough and honest but when asked about the CV replacement and particularly if they changed the seal they could not confirm nor deny that they replaced *all* the parts (and if they ordered the correct part there wouldn’t be a leak!). After going to them for 4 years I’m very disappointed in them - I trusted them to service my car so I could safely drive across country- poor choice for sure. $2k spent and only stress and time more to pay. Not to mention endangering my family during a cross country trip.Note: there is a warranty claim company for services, if you have a problem ask Univ. Auto to pass you to them. The out of state auto mechanic called both Univ. Auto & warranty Co. on my behalf and sorted the issue.WRT VA inspections at Univ. Auto: in order to get an VA inspection appointment I found I had to book it as an oil change or otherwise as they told me they were busy on multiple occasions for *just* an inspection alone but if I booked for an oil change even if I did not get that done they would usually have time... I get it’s a $$$ profit thing, but it’s still frustrating for a customer to go out of their way just to get something needed done.

I was really happy with my tires and the price, though they didnt honor my appointment time. I have had an even bigger issue that arose later. They did not properly tighten my wheel lugs on one wheel. I had the one stud that was tightened break off on the interstate highway and had to pull off to the side of the road at night. This could have turned out much worse than it did, Im glad myself or no one else was hurt or killed.

Ive been going to University Tire at Seminole for a decade now, across two vehicles (my previous one being an old clunker that may or may not have been annoying to service), and my overall experience has been great. Ive had everything done from oil changes, state inspections, new tires, brakes, exhaust work, tune-ups, fuel system, you name it.Ive only ever had one problem with them - the most recent visit, two weeks ago, resulted in an issue with my front wheels. I explained the situation to their Director of Operations via email and they fixed the problem free of charge, and quickly at that. I was initially upset, and actually hesitant, about having to take my car back for a new issue that occurred on their watch but they took care of me, without fuss, and set my mind at ease. Would it have been better to have everything go perfectly the first time? Of course, but I get that sometimes stuff happens. Im just glad they made it right.Also, they have free shuttle service which has been incredibly convenient for me.

Will absolutely never be back to this place. We had a great first experience and have given them the benefit of the doubt through several subsequent disappointing visits. Left in tears this morning with how frustrated I was with their service. Would not recommend to anyone.

As a 25+year customer of UTire and mostly happy with the service received, I had the opposite experience today.1. Arrived at 7am (time they open) for a state inspection on 7/25 expecting to be there for half the day. I was told there were 7 other customers in front of me. UUGGHH! Okay, no problem I brought work to do. (But still think there has to be a different way to handle the deluge of state inspections the last week of the month.)2. When I asked if I could get a shuttle at 12:30 to an appt, I was told the shuttle only runs at 7:30am and after that he only shuttles tires between the UTire locations. So I had to take the 7:30 shuffle to the vicinity of my mid-day appt and then walk back to UTire afterwards!! If you are going to advertise you provide a shuttle, but restrict the time it is available, then post that in your media posts!! (I was back in time to see my vehicle be serviced from 3:30-4:15.)3. Also, the service desk staff should not verbally choose to refuse to answer the phone when they recognize a customers number because her car is not ready. This was all voiced while I sat waiting for my vehicle. When there are two people at the desk and no customers standing at the desk waiting, they should answer all phone calls....Customer Service 101.

The team at University Tire did a nice job replacing a bad tire and took the liberty of rotating the tires to put the new one in the best position. They had the work done in the time frame I requested. Nice work, thanks.

Unfortunately changing this review from 5 stars to one. I’m very disappointed. Went here for a state inspection and oil change, was sold services that was completely unnecessary that led me to believe that car failure was imminent. I don’t have a problem with those work here, they are probably under pressure from the owner to sell useless options to car dopes such as myself. I had chose this location because they were actually honest with me three years ago, but sadly the culture seems to have shifted. Buyer use extreme caution, especially if you don’t know your stuff.

These guys are very unprofessional and dishonest. They ripped me off with my inspection. Said I have a bad rear motor mount and will for 400$ so I reluctantly did it. Nothing seemed different. Then I notice my engine bouncing around when shifting gears. They said the other mounts were bad but passed inspection. They didnt inform me of this. So for another 600$ they said they replaced all the mounts but only did 2. Engine still bounces. The guy Tr___s wanted to come to my house and park where I do to see if the car he brought would do the same clanking when shifting into gear. Who does that!!! They also denied breaking my air intake but they did. They are nothing but con men and criminals. I would take my car to a 5 year old before I go there again. DONT DO IT!! THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL LIERS NOT MECHANICS !!! Also...awe nevermind. Not worth anymore of my time. Good luck

They did an amazing job. The shuttle was great also if you need to be dropped off or picked up.

I was staying in Charlottesville earlier this month, in order to escape the hurricane and flooding that was taking place where I live in NC. I felt the need to get my car checked out here, while on my own. I was told to replace all 4 tires which I did, trusting that I was given solid advice. I was told two of the tires were in bad shape. I was also told that the rear brakes were in bad shape, along with various parts that go along with the rear brakes such as the calipers, hoses, pads, and rotors.The brakes alone were quoted at $800, while the tires were over $600. As a single teacher from NC, money is tight enough. I went to this location, because it was near the hotel I was staying out, and it had many decent reviews.I normally would not place a review, but I am as a warning to other single women that may go here. I chose to not get my brakes fixed here, because I didnt have enough after the tires, and I needed to pay for some additional nights in hotels.Once I got back home, I went to a well known and honest mechanic in my area. He replaced what actually did need replacng in regards to the brakes, and it only cost me $205 compared to the $800 I was quoted. Save your money, if possible.

Quite simply, these people are only interested in how much money they can steal from you. They are the epitome of what you should avoid when you need to get your car fixed. Do not trust them; thats how they run most of their scams, by assuming that you will give them the benefit of the doubt. I was warned about them before I came in by reading a few of the reviews on here, and they were spot on. Theyre just awful, shifty people who reek of duplicity and deceit.And also, when they give the generated response of Call this number and ask for Adam Adam is always either not available or the phone just doesnt get picked up. Dont be fooled by their attempts to reconcile, they are only interested in saving face insofar as it allows them to continue to cheat people out of their money.

I took my car here to get an inspection. I know that the car is older, and could potentially have trouble passing inspection, so I stressed that they call if anything came up. Several hours after dropping the car off, I got a call telling me that the car was ready to be picked up. When I came in to get the car, I first had to wait ~10 minutes until anybody could help me. Finally, someone took my name, and then informed me that I owed $969. I was of course taken aback by this, and he started to list all of the individual costs that added up to this huge amount. From the way he was listing them, and since I had been told the car was ready to be picked up, I assumed that all of these had been done without my consent. He disappeared, and brought someone else to talk to me. This person claimed that they had called and left a message (which never happened). He then told me that the car failed inspection, and there was a long list of things that needed to be done in order for it to pass, making it clear that nothing had actually been done to the car. I dont have any idea how someone could call me to tell me the car was done and ready to be picked up, when in actuality it had failed inspection, and they needed to get permission to do a lot of things. Since the car is 17 years old, and clearly not worth $1000, I decided against getting anything done. If I did decide to have the car fixed in order to pass inspection, there is NO WAY I would have let them do it. There was no communication prior to me getting to the center. The guy at the register was ready to charge me for something that hadnt even been done yet. I have been to several other car centers within Charlottesville, and I have NEVER had an experience like this. I tried going to several other places before coming here, but they werent taking any more cars for state inspections. Now its clear why there was no line here. DONT EVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE.

This place is great. I called ahead of time to get schedule an appointment and get a price estimate for scheduled maintenance. Bob took the time to run through all the different services my CRV required and gave me a price estimate. I dropped the car off at around 11 and it was done by 2pm. No appointment necessary. They are looking to save you money and wont advise you to have maintenance done that is not really needed. This is the second time I have been here and it was excellent both times. I love going to places with great service. I will be getting my CRV serviced here from now on.
