This was my very first visit but definitely not my last. The level of promptness, professionalism and knowledge was very impressive. My bike arrived damaged in shipping and I needed 2 tires, brakes and wires. John was very helpful in assisting me. I dropped my bike off on a Tuesday and had it back on Friday of the same week. Ive been waiting for 10 years to get Hutchinson tires on my old bike. Every bike shop Ive asked has declined because of the notorious difficulty of installing these tires. But Blue Ridge Cyclery did it for me! I am very happy with the service I have received from them. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of shopping at their store and have been absolutely delighted with my Trek Dual Sport 4 I bought from them; it was exactly what I was looking for.

I left home with my 35 year old bike and I forgot my water bottle. So I found Blue Ridge Cyclery. I also asked them to look at my front wheel. I thought the bearings were shot and I had ordered a new one. They looked at it and their mechanic tightened it up and it was like new. I bought my new water bottle and they wouldnt take anything for the adjustment! Saved me buying a new wheel and only sold a water bottle. We need more people in our world like Blue Ridge! Thank you!

I took my 1-year-old Trek SL7 Domane (great bike!) in for some PM service this week and the representative that helped me was fantastic. Then, when I received the call from the technician to say that the bike was ready for pickup, the conversation we had on what they did was detailed, personal, and fun! When I picked it up, I browsed around a bit and looked at Trek WaveCel helmets and some liners for cold weather rides which I have been looking at for a while. They had both in stock and wham, bought them! Highly recommend anyone shopping for a bike, bike accessories, or need bike service, to go see them! You will not be disappointed. Recently purchased a new bike from the team at Blue Ridge. I found what I wanted on their site and it was at the location furthest from me. I called the Preston store where I spoke with Josh. He confirmed the availability and offered to throw it on the van as they were already there grabbing things. Talk about above and beyond. I picked up the bike later that evening, immediately swapped the pedals which they did for me promptly before I could even take them to the counter to pay.I have done business here before and always had a pleasant experience, this was really just a solidifying experience as to why I chose to shop here.

Its week 3 of a fork swap that should have only taken a couple days. Their words not mine. The attitude of this shop seems to match the rest of our cultures toxic attitude towards bikes; that cycling is only a sport at best, a bike is an expensive toy, and certainly not a viable means of practical transportation.Week 3 of walking 6 miles into town or begging for rides from friends and family. Two weeks since the fork purchase was authorized, one week since I offered to pay in advance of the repair to make sure it would be ready as soon as possible. One day since checking in after hearing nothing for that week, only to discover the mechanic had done nothing at all.At this point Im not just considering pulling my bike back out of the shop and never returning here, but quitting cycling all together. Even high end electric scooters are cheaper, simpler, faster, and easier to live with. For the price of one of their mid range ebikes ($3000) one could easily afford a high spec scooter with 3x the range and power. ($1400) It would be a different story if bikes were more respected by their so called enthusiasts.

The service offered is always top quality and fairly priced. The products on offer are good ones, and the prices are fair. And the folks are friendly.

I came to the shop but live 3 hours away from Charlottesville. The best thing is the website made it easy to find a great bike on sale. After finding the perfect bike I was able to call and place the bike in the back till I came into town to purchase it. All the products were high quality with a unbelievably low price. Cant wait to come back into town to shop some more when visiting.

Great outside drop off and pickup. BRC estimated a two week turn around for the work needed on my bike but was able to have it done in less than a week.

Thank you for not overcharging. I only needed the seatpost cut, and thats all I got. Other stores kept doing extra work for extra charges, last one amounted to about $300 worth of work for what was supposed to be $189. Plus the service you provided was last minute, I was able to get back into my event the next day. Definitely worth the extra travel from 70 miles away.

Tonight Matt at Blue Ridge Cyclery was not only super helpful looking up information about my husband’s stolen Trek, he also recovered the bike for us!My sweet hubby’s bike was stolen from Reid Super Save Market on Preston while he grabbed a couple groceries to make dinner for me and our young children. After he paid he came to discover that his bike had been stolen. The folks at Reid’s were super helpful and showed my husband the security footage. The cameras showed the thief ride up on a different bike, discard that bike, and ride off on my husband’s bike. My husband called me to break the bad news and I headed over to Reid’s to pick him up.About fifteen minutes later I was on the phone with Matt at Blue Ridge Cyclery looking for information on the bike to share with the police for our report. Matt was super helpful identifying the model of Trek from my husband’s maintenance record. You will never guess what happened next. The thief rides past on my husband’s bike! I told Matt about the thief coming his way and Matt wisely told me to hold on a minute. Less than three minutes later here comes Matt from Blue Ridge Cyclery riding up to Reid’s on my husband’s Trek. Matt said that he had hollered at the thief as he rode past and the thief abandoned the bike. We were stunned and amazed by how it all seemed to work out.By the way, we told the police dispatcher about the abandoned bike at Reid’s, the one discarded when my husband’s was stolen. As I was leaving Reid’s I met the person whose bike it was. It had been stolen from Random Row next door about an hour earlier. They were grateful to us and the police for helping them get their bike back so quickly.We thanked Matt then. Let us thank him again now. Matt, thank you for being a Good Samaritan tonight. You saved our family time, money, and frustration, and we got a great story out of it. My husband bikes to and from work every day in all conditions. We love his Trek bike from Blue Ridge Cyclery and the maintenance we have received from you all. We will be buying his next bike from Blue Ridge Cyclery as well.

Top notch service. Last year I debated buying a bike online but instead went with this local shop because the bike came with a maintenance plan with them. Im really grateful I did, as I have been very satisfied with the pricing and service of their maintenance and tune-ups.Also, as an aside, my bike was stolen six months ago and it was found by someone after it had been abandoned. They called the shop because it had a Blue Ridge Cyclery sticker on it and the shop was able to connect me to my lost bike. They go the extra mile and are really considerate and attentive to customer service.

I visited BRC Downtown for the first time recently for a minor fix on my older Trek. They were very reasonable and was impressed with the staff and the selection of new bikes! I will definitely be back when its time for a new bike! Allen.

I was in town visiting relatives and wanted to hit some singletracks. I rented a full-suspension Trek the gentleman recommended and bought shorts and shoes. The service was exemplary and if they were located in my city, I would be a regular customer. I highly recommend them!

Blue Ridge Cyclery is GREAT at last minute/emergency fixes. My most recent visit was because I broke a spoke during a ride, and Rob had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. Not only did he take my bike right away, he custom-made a spoke to fit my rim, since there were none like mine in stock. Exceptional!

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I came to the shop with a vague idea of what I wanted in a bike for commuting. In the three hours I spent at the shop I was able to get opinions from three of the staff members and take multiple rides on five different bicycles. I bought a Trek FX 2 which I probably wouldnt have considered if I hadnt learned so much about bicycles in those three hours at the shop. I am confident that I was able to make a great decision specific to my needs and budget thanks to the incredible amount of information that was shared. If you want a bicycle but arent sure which of the manifold options are best for you I would definitely recommend you spend a few hours on a sunny day with the folks at Blue Ridge Cyclery - Downtown.

Great shop, great service. BRC is very involved in promoting health, wellness, and cycling in our community. Sometimes you can find stuff on Amazon for cheaper, but the support that this local bike shop brings to the community and the level of service makes it worth spending a little extra. Plus, they are great about returns and really work to help you find the right item the first time around.

The service goes beyond what was expected. I came in to replace a crank arm and I came out with a bike that felt better than I first got it! Brakes felt fresh, the wheels were pumped, and everything was oiled up in addition to what I requested.

Weve now purchased three bikes here and multiple accessories. We have received consistently EXCELLENT service. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure everything fits well and meets our needs. Staff are friendly, attentive, and offer good advice without being pushy. All are super knowledgeable about the products they carry. We will not go elsewhere for cycling needs in Cville. Bonus points for this location being right next to Kardinal Hall!

I am a longtime Blue Ridge Cyclery customer and I have always gotten SUPERB customer service there. The staff go out of their way to make sure I am getting products and service that are right for my needs. To give just one example, when I bought a commuter bike at BRC last year, I came in with a list of three criteria and the salesperson immediately pointed me to the bike that best met my criteria. I tried other bikes but the first one the salesperson suggested really was the right one for me. The shop staff adjusted the handlebars and seat for my preferred riding position and the salesperson recommended some accessories that have turned out to be perfect for commuter riding. When I had trouble using the first bottle cage I got, they accepted it as a return, researched a more suitable bottle cage, and special ordered it for me. When a part broke off the basket, they came up with replacement parts at no charge. I get the impression that the owner, Shawn Tevendale, has created a culture of great customer service, so it is not hit or miss depending which employee you talk to: the service is consistently excellent.

After what I have read, I am disappointed instead. I had a flat tire of my bike (front tire) and stopped there. OK, 22 dollars for a tire, a little bit overpriced, but fine. After I exit, 20 meters (I use metric systems), the rear tire blew out. Args !!! It was, evidently over inflated. I return to the shop, they say twice bad luck - ok, probably also too much pressure, no?? but anyway. This time I had to change also the tire which was broken (by incident, right?). They were also trying to let me buy a 700x26 tire which was 25$ more than mine 700x25. No discount for the second tire, so other 52 dollars. So, 70+$ dollars: Im not happy about the service, probably because I dont speak much English, but this does not mean that I cannot understand things....

Everyone I’ve met at BRC is super friendly and knowledgeable. The do reliable, fast and fairly priced service and stock all the best accessories. I honestly couldn’t ask for more, everything I need for my commuter and mtb. They also will occasionally do demo rides with trek and pivot factory reps and they have a full fleet of brand new rental bikes.

Although Ive only been in for quick fixes, Ive left happy every time. Great service and they all know what they are talking about. Highly recommend for all of your cycling needs.

Tweaked the back wheel on my vintage Stumpjumper while riding a downhill course. They were able to get it straightened out and true. They were able to get all the high quality Enduro/Shimano sealed bearings I needed for my hubs and crank.

Did a two day MTB rental while visiting a friend. Rental was in good shape. I sheared some teeth off my chainring. They charged me cost for a new one. Great experience with them
