An absolute GEM! My husband and I came not once but twice during our anniversary weekend getaway. Our taste buds are still watering from the amazing food! We also really liked the chill vibe and lots of seating options! Friendly staff and happy tummies! We will be back :)
The only complaint we had is that they were out of some menu items we wanted to try. The people were wonderfully accommodating and the food is the taste of Miami my fiance and I miss.We are definitely planning to go back!
This is a one of a kind restaurant in Charlottesville. The owner is wonderful, the other staff is wonderful. I cant sing the praises of this restaurant enough. Anything I have ever eaten at Guajiros is delicious. I have been there to eat multiple times and the food is always fabulous. If you have not been you are missing out.
I cant think of a single negative thing to say about Guajiros. They have it going on, forreal-forreal. Have you seen the new digs on Main Street? Its a total aesthetic daydream! Every inch of the space screams for attention on social media. The customer service is unmatchable. I see one of the owners almost every time I visit and he is THE BEST! I hear him help newbies navigate the menu over and over and he never loses his enthusiasm. I was that newbie once and he patiently explained the menu, got a feel for my palate and offered recommendations. The food is delicious, very affordable and the portions are extremely generous. I love that you can get breakfast all day. The sandwiches are to die for. Not just the filling, but the bread is A++! You cant make a visit without getting the highly coveted queso frito. Omg. This is where you discover that fried cheese does not need to breaded or battered, it just needs to a little dip in some chipotle honey aioli. If you havent had it, you need to go NOW.Im also in love with their drinks. I had their version of an Arnold Palmer on my last two visits, which was a combination of their housemade limeade and .... something hibiscus, I think? All I know for sure is that its extra refreshing. They also have some of the best coffee Ive ever tasted. The iced cafe is totally craveable. They have oat milk too, which makes me a happy camper.10/10 recommend going here and going often.
Absolutely exceptional customer service that helps newbies to Cuban cuisine. Fresh food with incredible flavor and awesome drinks. Planning to try it all. Our sandwich was delicious and the platter was so tasty! Atmosphere has a comfortable home like feel. Highly recommended!
We were in cville for a long weekend and ended up coming here every day. One day was for lunch and the awesome Cuban sandwich. The next was for great coffee. Day 3 had us come back for breakfast. So good!!!!
The food is fantastic! Recommend trying the purple hot sauce if you like spicy!
Was in town for a wedding and saw that this place served Cubano Sandwiches. The great thing about a Cubano sandwich is the combination of flavors. With every bite, you should taste a combination of ham, roast pork, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. Unfortunately, this Cubano did not have enough pickles and the meats were not evenly distributed. After my first bite, I opened up the sandwich and redistributed the ham and pork to get full coverage. Just a little more pickles and care when assembling prior to pressing would have produced a more authentic Cubano. The potential was there so I gave it 4 stars!! It does come closer to a lot of places that say they do an authentic Cubano. My wife had the Pan con Lechon (pulled pork). I did not try that but it looked very good and she enjoyed it. Be thankful that Guajiros does use the pulled pork for the Cubano as so many places do.
Fantastic Cuban breakfast! Each of us loved our food. I had the hands on breakfast which was a great combo of rice, beans, plantains, eggs and salsa in a tortilla. Very inventive and very delicious! The owner is incredibly nice and definitely made the experience that much better! Would 5/5 recommend!!
Yall dont even know the treasure you are about to walk into. The decor: fun, bright, I want to steal everythingThe food: simple, done right, delicious, generous portionsThe drinks: refreshing, well balanced, well thought outThe service:YALL. Not only was everyone happy, like truly happy to be there and working. But they were attentive, kind, and informative. They go out of their way to give you the experience that you always want to have. They made sure you were set up, they made sure you got the full flavor experience while still giving you space to enjoy the beautiful place that they have.I want to write a five star review everytime I come here. But a lengthy one will have to suffice. I will be having lunch here on all my days off.
One of my favorite spots in town. Great coffee, great food, great people, just an all around fantastic spot. Highly recommend popping in.
Amazing food, and incredible staff. The owners have done a great job with this restaurant. Strongly recommend,.
This place is a must!! I highly recommend it for breakfast to get a Cuban coffee or just anytime! As a native Floridian, its 100% the Miami food we grew up on. All the staff was friendly and it felt like they were all owners on how attentive everyone was. Highly recommend.
I love this place so much. Friendly owners and staff, great food, cute dog-friendly patio, and hey, they have mimosas at 8am which is a nice Friday post-run treat!
We stopped in for coffee before getting our tattoos. As soon as you walk in you are rushed with wonderful smells seemingly coming from everywhere. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was wonderful... but the coffee..... was to die for!!!
The food was great! As well as the staff was super friendly.
If you’re reading this review wondering where you should go get food right now, you found it. everything here is so so good! staff is lovely & always on top of it. there’s something for everyone and the flavors are wonderful.
The coffee and croquettes were especially excellent, compliments to the cheerful and engaged team. Its clear there is thought and heart behind the charm.
Great service and nice place. Food was great! I recommend foresure!
Hidden gem directly by the train station. It even has stairs leading down directly. Absolutely the best staff and food. Just a very cozy place. I always stop here when going from Cville to NY, and here are a few key things:1) Absolutely the best coffee in town and you should consider changing your morning coffee place to Guajiros. Its actually real coffee.2) It is the best Cuban food Ive had. This isnt really news. This is the kind of food anyone likes. You can bring someone whos something of a gourmand, or kids or elderly parents. Everyone likes the food here.3) Theyve switched back to their original beignets! They are delicious.4) Beware the Guajiros goblin. See picture attached. Eats all your beignets without mercy.
Great breakfast. Fast service. Highly recommend
The Wife and I had been craving a cuban sandwich for a while, so while on a road trip we found Guajiros and decided to stop in and give it a try. I can say that we both agreed everything about the experience was fantastic. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The food was everything we wanted it to be and more. You really cant go wrong with a jem like this. I just wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

Incredible food, absolutely delicious. The Hands On Breakfast (burrito) was one of the best things Ive eaten in Cville in a long time. Loved the plantain chips, and the guava/creme cheese pastelito for dessert. Wow.Superior service, extremely reasonable prices, and really fun vibes/decor. This is a must-go if you like Cuban food, and if you havent tried it, make this your first stop!
The food was SO good, every dish we ordered knocked it out of the park. We got the El Cubano sandwich (10/10), Tostones Rellenos (9/10), and the beignets (10/10). The flavors and textures were both brilliant. We plan to visit every time we pass by the area!
Went there for lunch with my wife today. We both had the Cuban sandwich and an order of sweet plantains (maduros). The sandwich was pretty good. Im from Miami and have eaten Cuban sandwiches my entire life so I know what a Cuban sandwich is supposed to taste like. The amount of ham and pork was good, the bread (although not authentic Cuban bread) was nice and hot and pressed like it should be but the bread should have had melted butter on the outside. It had an adequate amount of mustard and pickles and Swiss cheese. The maduros were excellent, we thought they were cooked just right and it was a very nice portion (unlike another Kuban restaurant in Richmond). And finally, we ended our lunch with a Cuban coffee. And this was done right!! Unlike that Kuban restaurant in Richmond, this Cuban coffee was served hot, and sweet. Cuban coffee is supposed to have sugar and be sweet, and it was absolutely on point. The service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
Great sandwiches; friendly attentive staff. The new location on Main St. is so convenient! Well worth the visit for a quick lunch or a longer sit-down meal.
Absolutely amazing. Have ordered take out twice from here and everything is always packaged well. You can tell they really care. We have tried the cuban, the hands on burrito, the breakfast tacos and a couple other things. All great.
Ive had the pleasure of eating here many times. The new location on Main St holds up to the original vibe! The food never disappoints, the coffee is exquisite. 👌I highly recommend the Cuban and all the breakfast items! Love love love this place!!!
Since I first heard about this place I wanted to check it out and it didn’t disappoint. Nice cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. Went with the El Cubano and it was fantastic. Bread was perfect and the meat/pickles were on point. Can’t wait to come back and try the other items on the menu and breakfast.
Friendly staff and owners! The traditional cuban sandwich was awesome. Order the beignets, theyare amazing! Will definitely go again.
This is one of the best places for a a quick & delicious bite in all of Cville. Delicious menu, breakfast all day, Cuban food and the most amazing Maduros *sweet plantains*. Dont miss this sweet spot.
Havent been to the new location myself but from past experience in their other location the food was delicious, the pastries was the delicious and the cafecito was on point all in all I recommend this place.
Had Huevos Guafiros and it was excellent. Nice deck to eat on too. Will be back
Guajiros was recommended by my dentist in Ashland, VA. We decided to stop in on our trip to Charlottesville. WORTH THE DRIVE!!! I dont like pork or Swiss and the El cubano is amazing. It tastes warm and fresh at the same time. The vibe is super relaxed and the staff were all super friendly. The cashier explained a wait on one item in our order up front rather than leaving us hanging. Crisp items were crisp, seasoning was spot on, and it was a great to experience this food this far north. Parking is rough because of the small lot but it was worth it all especially since they are reasonably priced. We didnt leave hungry but are sad we moved so far away. We WILL be back!
The queso frito is one of the most delicious things in Charlottesville. All of their food is solid, but that’s the one must try thing. Plus, the people that own and operate it are incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful.
Have been wanting to go here and finally got the chance! It was a beautiful day and we were happy to find some outdoor seating available, and they even had more indoor seating options upstairs. You order at the counter and find a seat and they bring the food out to you. The service was fantastic! The cashier had some great recommendations and explained the menu thoroughly. We got the Hands on Breakfast which was AMAZING and El Cubano which was fantastic as well. The hot sauces were great and the beignets with guava dipping sauce were to die for. Definitely want to make this place a regular must-do!
Authentic and delicious. Had a coffee with oatmilk and plantains with pork filling. Guest had a Cuban sandwich grilled to perfection. Will return.
This place is fantastic! Something totally different along Rte. 29. We stopped for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the El Cubano and Pan con Pollo, each sandwich is pressed on Cuban bread and served with a side of plantain chips. The El Cubano had ham, seasoned pork, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. The Pan con Pollo was chopped chicken breast, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pink sauce. Both sandwiches were spot on! Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu. Definitely trying the fried cheese and a Cafe con Leche (Cuban Latte) on a return visit. They serve breakfast all day as well.
This restaurant is fantastic, the food and drink are outstanding and the people who work there are so friendly and helpful.
Delicious food and excellent customer service ! Authentic Nicaraguan food ❤️Feels like home 🇳🇮
This place is popping. The best vibe for a restaurant Ive walked into in a very long time. The family that own this really have brought something to the community that people can enjoy. Forget Starbucks Im going here to get my morning pick me up. And ill definitely be back for lunch.
Finally tried Guajiros and it did not disappoint! Their new space on Main Street is beautiful, the staff were all so incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious. As soon as I left I was already planning when I could go back. So, so good!
Amazing experience! Its like going back home! Food was amazing. TOSTONES RELLENOS is a must and obviously you have to order croquetitas con cafecito! The patio is the place to be, great music and vibes from Miami. Danilo and Sebastian were amazing!
Everything we ate was amazing. Very authentic. The Cubano was one of the best Ive had. The gallo pinto took me back to Central America. The queso frito was perfect. The plantains were ripe (some places theyre not sweet at all). To top it off, the owner and staff were friendly and helpful (were from out of town). Couldnt have been a better experience.
The food was amazing! We got the pulled pork sandwich, egg sandwich and the little plantain cups (I forgot what it was called) and they were all stellar and fresh! The staff were so friendly and gave us recommendations to places in Miami because we said we are going to travel there. It’s a cute little spot with fun decorations. Will definitely be back!Update: went back for breakfast and was not disappointed. Pictured are the tostones rellenos and breakfast tacos. Both are 🤤
Incredible eggs and coffee. Cuban bread is a must have with the eggs. Get all the sauces to try.
Such an amazing place. Great food and amazing service. Everyone is extremely nice. We loved it
The service was friendly and quick and the food was DELICIOUS. So glad we stumbled upon this quaint eatery.
Loved the atmosphere, I enjoyed the breakfast tacos, beignets and coffee. Friendly staff! I will be coming back.
Great authentic Latin American food in a nice Cuban themed setting. Love the Cubano and fried platanos that come with it. They also serve family recipe South American dishes. Highly recommend for a change of cuisine from what you normally eat in Charlottesville
Delicious Cubano sandwich and friendly service.
The food is wonderful and delicious. Try the breakfast items, and the coffee is lovely.
Great food, good price, nice outdoor seating. The outdoor area was crowded when we visited on Saturday, but freed up soon enough.
Great atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food, and quite possibly the best coffee in town!
I have lived many years in Centroamerica. I know Nica food. Had lunch there and its the real deal. Tasty. Sabrosa. Hay platano.Nice setting and tables both. In and out. Worth repeats.
Great atmosphere, super friendly people. Excellent Cuban coffee, but the food... breakfast is amazing (Ive had it two days in a row). Maybe not so good for the waistline, but SO GREAT for the soul. The Cuban Sandwich for lunch is absolutely delicious. Just like Abuela used to make. Not my abuela, but somebodys, Im sure. Lol. Seriously, try the Cuban Sandwich. Your tastebuds will thank you.
Best Food and friendly service. Not sure what to get, ask them and you will never go wrong. Be sure to try the diffusivity sodas.
Ive had the steak sandwich and the cuban, both are delicious. The guava pastries, to borrow the joke from Larry David, would end all embargos with cuba. (Also, get the fried cheese, trust me, you wont be disappointed)
Where to begin, from the moment you step into Guajiros Miami Eatery you feel welcomed. The cafe con leche is a great way to start the day and the atmosphere makes you feel as if you have hopped on a plane and flown to Miami for the lunch.Highly recommend for atmosphere, food, drinks, and their art collection of both Miami and local Cville artists is fantastic as well.Definitely a Cville gem!
Terrific little locally owned place. Open for breakfast as well and serves Cuban coffees .I had the huevos guajiros and it was wonderful. Wife had the South Beach and she said it was very good. Friendly quick service and they do offer take out. I have had friends tell me their Cuban sandwich is fantastic.
Great brunch and Cafe Americans were amazing. And dont forget to try their hot sauces!! Yum!
Food was very very tasty and service was exceptional . Fresh Hibiscus juice was the bomb .
Working my way through the whole menu...everything is so good! Keep up the good work!
If you’re looking for a tasty Cuban sandwich, this is a great place!
Have been here multiple times over the past few weeks and I absolutely love it! So far my friends and I have tried the breakfast tacos, el cubano and the pan con pollo and all have been phenomenal. I love the sweet plantains as a side, as well! I cant say enough good things about this place; my friends and I have all said that their sandwiches are some of our favorite ones we have ever had, and definitely the best in Charlottesville!
Went in for brunch and had a great experience. The entire staff was super friendly and caring. They took their time with us and willing to explain everything on the menu. Had a very authentic vibe... even Grandma was there taste testing the food for approval. I would highly recommend this place!
The owner is absolutely wonderfully wholesome. Mmm the comida era la misma. delicious!
Excellent food and service. Great prices!
I grew up in South Florida. Its really great to have a taste of home in CVille and this place is the real deal. I wish I could give them 6 stars
Lots of charm and good vibes upon entering. The croquetas were good, but then squeezing a lime on it takes things to a new level. The El Cubana sandwich was fantastic. Is a Tampa cuban better? Hee hee, you decide. My co-workers had the Tostones Rellonos side. They looked amazing. Queso frito looked extraordinary. I expected Applebee appearance from that cheese, but instead got something closer to, dare I say, Zocalo. Tasty. If you forced me to tell you something negative, I just wish they had a black beans & yellow rice option. But hey, theyre 5 days into it and still feeling it out. Well done Guajiros. #8-1-3
Favorite spot in Cville. Always get the queso frito and café con leche.
Great food, quick friendly service.
Delicious! Best food in cville!
Delicious cortadito and cubanos. Great customer service! Theyre still trying to get the kitchen upto speed at the new location. But the quality and kindness have continued from the old location.
Great decor and music. Good addition to the ethnic cuisine available in this town/county. Sandwiches were delicious. The only thing I would change a little bit were the seasonings but not by much. Highly recommend.
Good food cooked to perfection
I got the cubano especial and it was fantastic. The chips were killer too, as was the guava and cream cheese pastry.
Great food great energy! really good ingredients and excellent service
Absolutely incredible sandwich 🥪 😋I got the Cubano especial and was especially surprised by how good it was!
We randomly decided to stop here during a road trip. I had the Cuban Special and it was fantastic. The servers far exceeding our expectations. We will be back. Also, even if you aren’t hungry, the coffee here is some of the best we’ve had.
First time there... Cuban sandwich was excellent!
Food is very delicious and service is wonderful! Christina behind the counter was awesome and very sweet! Will be returning for sure!
Excellent Latin experience.
DELICIOUS COFFEE & FOOD! Great service! Quiet Place! The best Cuban Restaurant I ever went! Im definitely coming back! 😋😀
Everything was delicious. Coffee, hands on breakfast, croquetas and chicken tostones!!!Highly recommended
As a Florida native, it is refreshing to have some fantastic Cuban food so readily available. The coffee to start was fantastic and the breakfast menu they have available makes me remember my childhood in Miami. An excellent experience overall, made even better by friendly staff and a warm, cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone in Charlottesville.
