This place is great it has organic food plus vegan. The pharmacy staff are very helpful and great they to work with you in any situation. I really appreciate them!!

A place where you can charge your electric vehicle and shop for grocery

Simply put, Giant at Pantops is top-notch. It’s always spotlessly clean amd easy to navigate. The produce, fish, meat, and dairy offerings are dependably fresh. Store team members are consistently friendly and helpful. The pharmacy staff is professional and discreet. I love my Giant!

I used to go to Giant when I lived in Northern Virginia. Giant now is a different place. The store is pretty clean and well stocked. Its a good grocery store, but its not as nice as a Publix. The shelves are very high.

Clean, well stocked selection of standard and specialty groceries, great selection of organic and natural products. Always nice to see the same friendly, helpful employees throughout the store. A pleasure to order from the deli staff (the store made chicken salad is the best I have ever had). No-nonsense store manager, Debbie, treats everyone (employees and customers) like they are family. The parking lot electric vehicle (EV) charging stations were a nice addition last year - free to use and conveniently located located near the entry to the store.

The Giant store has all the items you expect from a large footprint grocery store. Its easy to get in & out and they have been very diligent with all the COVID mandates and cleaning protocols.

We were on way to Western Virginia from Richmond and stopped by at this Gaint stores for buying some milk and juice. We were shocked to see a price tag of $8.19 for 2% Organic milk and $4.49 for Orange Juice (House Brand). We had to buy these out of necessity (I have attached a receipt) and didnt have time to go other stores. I consider this VERY high as compared to market prices or even convenient stores. They need to make pricing for ESSENTIAL products such as these more reasonable. I give this store a low grading for product pricing on Google and other websites. A bad experience in these times and stores like this are not helping curb inflation and price gouging and are a party to it.

Selection can be better. Staff tries but not perfect. The best staff is food lion in fluvanna. But theyre the worst selection. Waste of time.

Beautiful store. Well set up, well stocked. I only give 4 stars. As a handicaped senior I depend on stores to have motorized carts. There were none up front, and as I shopped I did not see one anywhere. If they have them I cant imagine where they were. Unfortunately this will make it hard to shop there

Normally I enjoy shopping here but today I was not impressed. The floral manager was very rude to me and her fellow employee. I wanted to get some balloons filled with helium and didn’t see the sign that said they don’t do that anymore because of Covid. She was terribly rude to her employee who had begun filling my balloons who didn’t know about the change in policy. She went on about how it’s been this way for over a year. I didn’t catch her name but she had long blonde hair and glasses. Based on the interaction I had with her I did not do the rest of my grocery shopping here and will probably not get my prescriptions refilled here anymore.

Absolutely NOT ACCEPTABLE to receive attitude from a deli worker to a disabled person. If a customer is partially deaf, and they say this, an accommodation must be made. It is the deli counter workers job to serve the customer, not the other way around. We will be pursuing further action against this poorly trained individual.

So convient, clean, wonderful selections, vast selection of fresh produce that is really fresh! The bakery is fabulous, fresh donuts! Cant leave without a box full.

The pharmacy here needed to check its voicemails to see if my prescription had been called in 30 minutes before. it left me waiting 20 minutes before they did.i was told they were busy and this was why.newsflash - work faster than a sloth.you all are slow. you sit there slowly shaking pills out, get up and stroll to the other side, slowly get stuff, and glideback.put some hustle in. work faster.honestly you all remind me of dmv with how slow you all are.

I love this Giant store and have been going for years. The majority of the staff are so helpful and friendly. I love the location - so easy to get in/out. Prices might be a little more expensive but I think it has high quality groceries. Their store-made chicken salad brings me there so frequently - it’s so delicious!! Why the only 3 stars, you think? The staff behind the deli is outright rude. Not just not friendly but rude and argumentative. If I didn’t love the store and their chicken salad, I’d probably never go again. And it’s not just an occasional situation - it’s fairly often. I wish they had pleasant, friendly and easy to communicate with employees in the deli area and I’d give them 5 stars everyday! My only real big complaint but I had to say something - hopefully the management will appreciate the feedback. 😃

A huge shout out the the bakery!!! The best 7-layer bars ever. I first tried them at Krogers and they were ok, but when I had yours I dont want to go any place else. Thanks for adding the special taste to the 7-layer bars.

Overpriced, but you can sometimes find good manager’s specials. I really only go here for convenience. I just wish the whole place didn’t smell like rotten fish. It takes a few minutes for your nose to get used to the smell.

Typical grocery store. Friendly staff. Based on the high prices, I wasnt overly impressed. No dedicated meat department where you can find fresh ground beef or steaks. I was looking for bacon. Not the prepackaged kind. But the kind you find at other grocery store meat departments. The only meat department they had was a deli which offered pretty good deli meat; I must say. Their seafood department too, was a bit scarce. However I got some good fish at a good price (about the same offered at other stores). The gentleman who worked in that area was very nice. Would I go again? If I were in the area and didnt have time to get to another store then, yes I would go again.

Definitely a great grocery store! They have the best fudge and their shrimp is to die for. They cook it right there in the deli with Old Bay and everything! This is the only Supermarket I will go to for seafood! A very well kept store and very well organized. Definitely not disappointed!

The store is located a considerable distance from our home so my wife and I stop in whenever we have doctors appointments at Martha Jefferson Hospital. We love the bakery, both the yummies and the staff. The store has always been clean and well stocked.I enjoy chatting up the staff there. They seem to exude an old time country store friendliness that I find almost irresistible.I look forward to our next visit

Great sale prices and helpful employees.

5 different employees were wearing NO mask at all or had them pushed under their chins. Even the employee at the manager’s desk up front (who wore oxygen, for Pete’s sake 🙄) had her mask completely down under her chin, while talking to a customer a foot away. There was an air of defiance about it all. There is also only one entrance open to go in or out so it got very crowded there. I felt unsafe in that store. Plus, the prices seemed higher and selection poor. I’d just stick with Wegman’s.

We grocery shop at multiple stores and this is one of our regulars. We love the beautiful location with mountain views. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The store is very clean. The PHARMACY is the best that we have ever used in any state in which we have lived, having a friendly, efficient staff and excellent customer service. We really rely on them when ill, and they do not disappoint.

This store has great selection as well as excellent prices. The produce is always fresh. Easy parking and has other interesting stores and restaurants in the field or the center next to them. The cold cuts are Boars Head brand, high quality and difficult to find. Lines move quickly and the help is pleasant.

My experience was awful I was employed for 1 year and the management is awful and make you feel like a non person if you bring up issues there is a new customer service manager and she totally doesnt like people 3 of us cried because she is mean in front of customer an assistant front end manager was given 5 closing shifts after being there 10 years because the new assistant did not want to close when she brought this up all management said was if you are not happy step down be a cashier she deserved more respect than that our full time self scan employee has been there 20years and management did not come to her for the open position of assistant front end they offered it to last person hired it seems seniority is used when it fits the situation loved my coworkers and customers cant be there with so much disrespect of employees who have been there 10 to 20 years cant believe that means nothing while Im at it starting pay is 8.25 Im sorry that is horrible for any retailer in 2018 people would not return without customer service and they are making money even teenagers dont want to work there so Giant has lost at least 20 customers because of my family and they might tell their friends the front of the store is filthy the cash register sections and definitely self scan honestly someone needs to see for themselves thanks for the opportunity to share

Giant is a full featured supermarket with reasonable prices and fine staff service. Giant is a unionized shop, which means workers get something like reasonable pay for the staff. So dont just go because of the prices, go because you want to support workers receiving a living wage.

Not where I normally shop, but they carry a diet grape soda which we wanted. Store was crowded with shelving and promotions, hard to navigate with other shoppers and staff stocking shelves. Hard to orient yourself if you have never been here before. Good selection s and prices.

Fruit bowl was deceivingly marked. Price in the area where the prepared fruit contains were stored stated price was around $4.00 to $5.00, at first I couldnt find any other price stickers. After I checked out I found out that it was actually over $21.00!!!! I did find the actual price label on the bottom of the container. Even that was confusing having $19.?? on one part of the label and then $ 21.?? on the other part of the label.I was in a hurry trying to get to work so I stupidly went by the labeling in the case next to these fruit contains. VERY DECEIVING, and taking advantage of the public. The checker stated that her grandmother was fooled by this labeling trick as well.😡😡

Clean And Friendly Workers-Found What I Wanted

Fresh produce and a great variety of fresh fish.

We moved to Central VA last Spring and found the Charlottesville Giant to be the best all around grocery store. Great selection for the foods we prefer and responsive managers who add items we request. Great produce and wine selections too.

Ive never seen one grocery store have so much wine. Theres a wine aisle. Theres crates of wine here, and there, and everywhere. On top of that, theres the beer aisle, surprised I didnt see wine there too. At least the store knows its main demographic is middle aged moms.

Recently I had a small issue at this grocery store, but everyone involved went above and beyond my expectation to make the situation right. I give them an A+ on customer service and would highly recommend them to everyone. In the end, I was taken care of in a big way and think they have excellent customer service.

I used to love going to this giant, my favorite thing was the sushi especially on Wednesday cause it was half price. But recently they changed the people that make it and I tried it and I was very disappointed.

The selection was excellent! I found items I had never seen in another grocery store. Additionally, the store was clean and the staff was helpful.

Went in for help at the service desk, employee was friendly and cheerful. Came what we went in for. As we were leaving a man walking towards the store as we were walking into the parking lot...asked us what was wrong as we didnt have a cart full of groceries. apparently a manager. Pharmacy is always a huge help. They fill prescriptions quick and are always friendly and honest. Also are willing to help with discount cards and coupon/ insurance issues.

Terrible experience at this location today. Went in to purchase 5 $20.00 Visa gift cards for Employee of the Month gifts for my staff. At the register I was told that I could only pay for the gift cards using cash or a debit card. Being that this was an office expense I was going to pay for the transaction with my Company credit card which states both the company name and my personal name. However, the cashier stopped the transaction and called over another gentlemen who (completely ill-mannered by the way) proceeded to tell me their policy was that gift cards could only be purchased using cash or a debit card. When I asked if this policy was stated anywhere in the store he said yes it was. I ended up paying for the transaction with my personal debit card (to be refunded by my office upon my return) and then walked over the the end cap containing all of the gift cards. No, there was not a single notice ANYWHERE stating their policy. I asked another staff member on my way out about the policy and she mentioned the same thing and that the vendors that refill the gift cards often remove the signs stating their policy. If this keeps happening Giant, why not invest in a permanent sign to be placed in plain view? Is this such a hard concept? Or, better yet, rather than inconveniencing your guests, why not ask for ID as verification? Yet, maybe this is too difficult of a concept for you. If I didnt work literally next door to this location, Id gladly keep my business at KROGER!
