I love their in-store made tortilla chips but they are so hard to get now. I have gone three times now and there was nothing there. Today they said they were working on getting them out but it would be a while before they would be available. I was disappointed again and as i was leaving one employee said the other should go get some for me. His response was that it wasnt his job.I dont think i should have to call before going for their great tortilla chips. Two stars, are for the great chips. Im not happy at all that they arent available when I am there. Im about ready to go elsewhere. Disappointing.

On Aug 3rd around 3:15 pm. I got the cake for my 2 years old daughter’s birthday and I requested to write HB and her name on. This guy repeated after me with wrong spelling and I corrected him, then while he was writing I repeated to him loudly as I could he said okay and guess what he spelled as I corrected him for which were wrong and it’s only 4 letters long. So much disappointing beside that I love this store.

Have been shopping here since they came to Cville. This morning I had the RUDEST encounter. I was trying to shop for something to take for lunch. Could not get close because of stockers. I said I guess you dont want to shop, Travis replied not this morning. When checking out he came up with a food item where I was trying to get my lunch, I said I see you got yours and he laughed and said yes I did. I left the store so distressed about how he had treated a long time customer! Yes, I did Complain at Customer Service but not to a manager as I had to get to work on time. Sorry for the rambling of a truly disappointed customer.

Great staff, very clean. Only grocery store during Covid I feel comfortable going to. I like how they clean everything down after each person, even though I know it must be a hassle. I like how everyone has their masks on right and they make sure to let customers know and have masks and hand sanitizer on the door 👍🏽👍🏽. Maybe Its the rules or the customers but everyone keeps their distance in line. Food is also good too.

Pretty upset with my experience on Friday. This store has 1 hour a week reserved for people 60+. Early on in the pandemic they had 3 day-1 hour options. The store was crowded and not with just the over 60 crowd. There were a lot of young people shopping for what I assume is Amazon. Said something to the manager and the best she could say was sorry, not good enough.I live 40 miles away so dont run here every week but spend a lot of money when I do. And, their attitude about keeping shoppers safe seems not to be the case. Looks like its all about the money. Will be restricting my visits.

Incredible selection of produce and fresh foods. Lots of selection in alternative dairy and pretty much anything you can imagine. Meats, cheeses, breads, olives, pizzas and a wonderful salad bar. Super good selection of beers with local breweries well represented. There is a good array of wines as well from local to overseas. I was a bit disappointed that the bulk food area has been greatly reduced. That are also doing a super job at maintaining a safe shopping experience with the current covid-19 pandemic. They also have a good selection of coffees and teas but the bulk section for these may have been eliminated as well or I missed it.

It has been my habit to get breakfast at Whole Foods pretty consistently in the morning before work. Over the past two weeks six of those days the breakfast hasn’t been opened up by 7:30.(should be open at 7am) I couldn’t stick around to find out when the food actually came out. I asked the manager and they said the problem would be resolved and I didn’t have to find a different place to get breakfast but the past two mornings have proven that they have not solve the issue. Kind of bummed that I’m gonna have to find somewhere else to eat.

Whole Foods offers great products at average prices and some great local business items; however, the checkout staff prioritize those with less items. I was there at 8am this morning and waited in line for 25 minutes, when there were very few people in the store overall due to snow, but 6 people waiting in line behind me were pulled into 2 lanes by staff to be checked out before me, while I continued to wait as the person in front of me also had a full cart of groceries. This isnt the first time it happened, Ive seen staff prioritize those with few items, at the expense of those first in line several times that Ive been here. Overall the checkout staff are amazingly slow, slower than Trader Joes checkout staff by far and not nearly as kind. They prioritized folks with fewer groceries instead of prioritizing who was waiting in line first. Secondly, Whole Foods doesnt bag your groceries when you bring reusable bags due to Covid-safety which has zero substantiation in science. Wegmans still does, so I usually go there. Thirdly, Whole Foods doesnt allow you to use your own cotton bags (with tare weights) to buy produce right now again, which is unsubstantiated in scientific research and amazingly unsustainable. While I appreciate Covid precautions, limiting how many people are in the store during busy hours (4-6pm) or so makes a lot more sense. After all, the store is quite small and has very narrow aisles. The last reason, I prefer Wegmans is because it opens an hour earlier than Whole Foods. We are in a city after all, its nice to shop at 6am and avoid the crowds for substantiated covid precautions after all.

Every time I go in,it gets to be less of a pleasant experience. More foods in plastic, less diversity of product, more like a regular chain. In addition, the looming amazon wish for us all to have someone (or in the future...something) pick and pack our groceries is very depressing. I wish there was a better option near me and I wish that Bezos cared...but he worships only money and a dystopian future seems inevitable.

A large Whole Foods location in a relatively weird spot to access by road due to the layout of the streets around it - but still well worth the trip. It has a massive parking lot and the facility itself is big, comfortable, and very well supplied/stocked for a Whole Foods location. I liked how plentiful and varied their prepared foods were and the large amount of check-out lanes. Even for a small area like Charlottesville this Whole Foods has the supplies, service, and facilities of a top-notch location.

I believe the night staff should get more credit than they are given. They have to do so much in such a small window of time. They are never treated like the day time staff, although the night staff are the main ones putting in the work to ensure the shelves are stocked completely and ensure the shelves look nice. I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to stock an entire store before they open for business the next day. In conclusion the night staff is the backbone of the store and should be treated so much better than they are.

Just bought Whole Foods organic baby kale on 12/3/19 with expiration date of 12/14/19. Opened on 12/4/19. Still looked good on top but basically > 50% of the rest of the container was rotted, 10 days prior to expiration date. Called to alert them to the problem. The customer “service” person I spoke with had no interest in researching why a lot of Kale would go bad 10 days prior to the expiration date and instead gave me the patronizing “bring your receipt in and will give you your money back“. Be very wary of what you buy at this place.

July 2019 - Updating review since there have been significant changes since Amazon took over.Meatless Mondays are no longer offered. The vegetarian/vegan options were slim on the hot bar for a while but its getting better. They had these delicious fried tofu cubes that I dont see anymore. The custom sandwich option was sadly removed. They were so good! :(You can no longer bring in your own containers for bulk items which was a great option because it prevented so much plastic waste. They had these amazing vegan chocolate mousse cups in the deli area that they sadly dont carry anymore.I still go here regularly because the organic produce is the best in town and some of it is always inevitably on sale. The employees are still very friendly and helpful. I just hope Amazon doesnt keep getting rid of the things I love.July 2018 - Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Offers a Meatless Mondays special at the hot bar for non-meat eaters. Nice produce. This is a clean, moderate size store with friendly service, and plenty of space to sit down to eat. Its not as large as some DC stores, but large enough to carry a good range of product. Their organic produce is oftentimes unreasonable, but depending on your needs (were vegan) there is a Costco about half a mile from this location. Parking is always available, but the store exit is right where cars enter their lot. Its a constant accident waiting to happen.
