We just came to this place, it’s tucked in a corner where we missed it for a while. The place is clean, comfortable, large ice cream selection. We came on Sunday just before noon, and nobody else was here. We had scoop ice creams and they were wonderful. Staff was friendly. We will definitely be coming back :)Edit: I just read a bunch of the other reviews, and so many are basically “place is wonderful!” and then they give 4 stars. I don’t get it

They have the best ice cream by far . The best one they have is the reese dasher with chocolate ice cream . And the people who work there are always friendly. Overall best place to stop and grab ice cream 10/10.

This was my first experience at a Carvel ice cream store. I was impressed with the selection. They had my favorite ice cream of all time Cotton Candy. It was great and the staff was fun to interact with. They actually seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

The staff is what really takes this place beyond just being an ice cream store. Very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice little find since moving to Chesapeake. Its down on South Battlefield and I have to pass a Dairy Queen to get here, but its totally worth it!When you step inside they definitely have the whole retro thing going on and it works nicely. The counter is over to the left side as you enter and partially along the back. To the right are some coolers full of sodas and in the middle you find old ice cream parlor stools and chairs covered in red with metal banding around them. Its a nice touch.On my visit I picked up a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. I dont remember the cost but it wasnt expensive and was oooooooh so delicious. The people working there were very nice and it seems like its a family operation.I noticed on the way out theres also tables and chairs outside which will be especially nice once once spring and summer get here. I think on my next visit Ill bring my pup Jango and hook him up with a scoop as well.

Carvel was great. We had the vanilla bourbon ice cream and kids has cones.

Long after the froyo craze has come and gone, ice cream will stand strong....Carvel in particular. This little shop is reminiscent of my youth, going for an ice cream cone with my grandfather at our local Carvel in Upstate NY. The quality of their product hasnt changed a bit.

First visit to a Carvel, got myself a Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae Dasher.I was first of all impressed with the overall appearance (should have took a pic lol) just looked delicious. Secondly it tasted fantastic the layers and flover and consistency were perfect and Im a picky person hahaWould recommend, I will return as this place has probably taken me away from Sonic blasts.Thank you,

Happy Mothers day hope you like hair with your dasher. Took my kids for some ice cream after dinner. Got home and found 2 long hairs wrapped around the oreo in the mint ice cream.

New owners and the quality has slightly diminished. Got shake and milk or something was off. They did exchange for different item which was nice. Raised the prices of the cakes and chocolate layer is skimpy. Flying saucers were skimpy but been good as of late. Sure its just new owners and they will figure it out. I recommend this place to everyone.UPDATE>>> July 2018-Dropped a star. They no longer server specially items Carvel is famous for. All they have is the usual cakes, ice cream and a few flying saucer. NO OTHER ITEMS AVAILABLE. Might as well just turn it into a regular Ice cream parlor and leave off the Carvel name as they are tarnishing it.

Awesome place to grab some ice cream! My daughter and I were looking for an alternative to our tyical dairy queen or sweet frog visits and ended up finding this little gem. Cute, retro ice cream fountain shop look helped add to the nostalgic atmosphere. The staff was friendly and wait time wasnt too long. Ice cream was delicious! Even though its a little out if the way for us, we definitely plan making this a mandatory stop when the ice cream urge hits!

Clean, quiet and inviting. Decent selection of flavors, moderate pricing, especially for the waffle cones. Huge selection of ice cream cake! A little bit hidden on the corner, so make sure you dont pass by it by mistake!

My service at this ice cream place sucks and they dont take coupon for the football ice cream cake. So I would advise visitors and people are out of town. If you want ice cream go elsewhere dont go to this ice cream place.

I absolutely adore Carvel. I grew up with one down the road from me (in NJ) & glad there is still one around.I think the creamyness of their soft serve blows DQ away. This particular location always has great service. Never used bathroom facilities so I cannot comment on that. I can make a comment on their hard ice cream, though.... yummy!

Love the ice cream here especially the soft serve. Also they give a 10% discount to military all the time, not just on certain days

Always great flavors of ice cream, and the service is usually top tier. Ive never had a bad experience here, but I have on multiple occasions ate entirely too much because of this place!

The reason I came was that I got coupons in my mailbox. I got 2 cups of birthday cake ice cream, but the coupon applied to just the standard flavors: Vanilla and Chocolate. Luckly, the cashier said that she let us do it just this time. I was so thankful and I left the place with a smile in my face
