Howard Auto Body & Repair was hands down the BEST service Ive ever received from a mechanic. After my car was side swiped on the street, I was referred to them by a neighbor. They were extremely professional from day one and kept in constant contact with me thru the repair process. My car was returned to me like new. They are absolutely my new go-to. I have gone to 4 or 5 mechanics trying to fix my check engine light and spent a good amount of money and it always would come back on after a few days. I took my car in had a chat with the mechanic and the next day the car was done and the issue is finally fixed. I literally offered to hug the mechanic. Such a relief to finally have it fixed. We took our car to Howard Auto Body to get repaired after our neighbor accidentally smashed the entire right side of the car. So much work had to be done — new doors, new wheel, new bumper, tons of internal work, painting, and checks of the entire car. Howard Auto Body did such an amazing job. After my car sustained some damage, i wanted to make sure i found the best shop that would repair it properly. I had them to install trailer hitch on my SUV. They gave me a very competitive quote. People are nice and polite. They were all wearing mask. The young boy helping the family disinfected my key before giving it to me:) Also they texted me a link where you can follow the job progress. They uploaded pictures as well. It was professional. I have not seen pictures even from the service department.I recommend this place.

Took my Cr-V into this place for the first time because I thought I was hearing noises on my rotors. Frankie which I think is the owner test drove my car with his mechanic and was back in 20 minutes. He explained to me nothing was wrong with my car and explain to me how to analyze my rotors when their bad and what to look for. He also said he wasn’t going to take my money when nothing is wrong with my car. I appreciated the honesty and told him he’s my new mechanic going forward. 5 star service and very friendly!

Several years ago, I went to Howard Auto Body after a weird accident with scaffolding in a parking lot just 7 days after buying the car. Frankie & the Owner, Tony, made sure my car was perfect. I had no idea I would need their help again for another accident!However, when I had the unfortunate experience of being hit by a business truck recently [in another new vehicle] I knew right away where to take my car! I went in for an estimate to provide to the business who caused the accident and from that moment, Frankie stepped up in a way that made me feel like this was all going to be okay.Frankie contacted the business for me, after I was getting the run around for a couple days, and quickly got them to get the ball rolling on approving repairs to begin. He stayed in constant contact with them to secure full payment, giving me full updates on those communications along the way.After a few weeks, my car was ready and I was literally brought to tears because it looked brand-new again (it was wrecked pretty bad)! Frankies assistance from the beginning, his highly professional, take-charge style, and his consistent follow up skills made this process so much less stressful! All I had to do was focus on healing my own body in physical therapy, but not my car.Frankie wasnt actually at the shop when I picked up my car, but I had the pleasure of seeing Tony, the owner. He patiently, thoroughly confirmed and explained all the work completed. I really appreciated the time he spent doing this.The warmth of personality, the professionalism, the skill of each & every person in this shop would be nearly impossible for any other shop to beat! Howard Auto Body Shop saved my baby Jenny (Jeep Cherokee). I had a small collision on a rainy night and I didnt know where to go. I was recommended this shop by one of my best friends as he raved about what a great job they did for him. I originally spoke to Tony (The Owner) on the phone and explain what I needed. He right away told me to bring Jenny in and when he saw what was needed he made his recommendations. He totally put me at ease about the whole process. Wonderful shop with honest mechanics who take the time to get to know you and your vehicle. I drive Lyft so there is a lot of wear and tear on my car. They never try to sell me unnecessary work. They let me know when parts are wearing out so I have time to budget for replacing. They have a stamp card so every 5th oil change is free. I highly recommend this shop!

Detailed information about the repair process, makes the decision to have the automotive repairs done by them easy. They are fast and courteous offering coffee or water while they prepared the estimate which was very reasonable. I was even offered a ride home while they started my rehab project. Wife and I just purchased a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee two weeks later someone rear ends my wife. We wanted someone who specializes in jeep so we went to dealership where we purchased our jeep at napletons. They gave us a pamphlet for this auto body shop. My wife and I were pleased on their service and jeep looked brand new. Antonio Espinoza was great and was helpful on getting my wife a very nice loaner until our jeep was fixed. I recommend this shop. I will see him soon they can work on my 1999 jeep Cherokee.

I have needed the help of the folks at Howard Auto Body and Repair twice within the last year for vandalism repairs and repairs from a fender bender. Both times the customer service was outstanding. Although they were clearly very busy, they made time for my needs including assisting with calling for a car rental for me while my car was in their shop. The auto body work is outstanding and you could never tell my car has been through any of what it endured in the last year. I highly recommend them.

First mechanical work Ive had to have on my car and wasnt really sure where to turn. Came here because of the feedback and wasnt disappointed. Had multiple repairs done and got quoted a price that seemed more than fair. They were even willing to add in a last minute oil change when I called them an hour before close the day before I was supposed to pick up. Wont be taking my car anywhere else from now on.

I recently had a meet and greet with a delivery truck that accidentally popped off my front bumper. There was no damage to the car; just to the bumper.My mechanic at Doc Ables referred me to Howard Auto Body to do the repair work. Folliwng a very long, tedious process with my insurance carrier HAB was able to get the car fixed quickly once the adjuster was done.Heres what impressed me most about HAB - their individual repair estimate was 98% in line with the adjusters estimate. Pretty darn good. No bump ups, no extras, nothing that would make them more money. Just a clean, honest assessment of the work that needed doing.Big plus - they returned my car to me freshly vacuumed and washed.I highly recommend the folks at Howard Auto Body. I hope I dont need to see them again any time soon, but if I do it will be a very productive and positive experience.

I was recommended to Howard Autobody by a local car dealership after someone hit my car while parked. Damage was minor, but the car is BRAND NEW (of course) so I wanted to make sure the work would be impeccable.Howard Autobody staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I spoke directly with the owner, Tony. When I arrived for an estimate, the turnaround time from inspection to estimate was almost immediate. I was given several options of how to move forward with repairs, which I appreciated as a consumer being that the options had differing price tags. Tony was very willing to help me find the right balance of budget and desired outcome which tends to be the perk of working with a small business.Scheduling the repairs was simple, and the work was estimated to be complete in 3 days - but they actually finished in 2! Work was impeccable - just as I had hoped for. When I dropped the car off, I intended to ask for it to be cleaned (inside and outside) but completely forgot. To my pleasant surprise, the body shop cleaned everything beautifully without even receiving the request.Would definitely recommend Howard Autobody to others!

I recently was involved in a minor accident, in a very close to brand new car I had just bought from family. I took my car in to Howard Auto body after reading the reviews and on the good word of a friend. It was pretty much the best decision I couldve made. They fixed everything back to just how itd been before the minor accident, and they even helped me out by fixing a couple of other very minor issues on the car left by the previous owner, that wouldve cost me somewhere between 100-200 by themselves.After seeing their work, which I can only say is top notch, and being treated so damn well, I cant do anything other than write them a glowing review.Take your car to these guys. There are few things as rare in this world as an honest and caring auto repair shop. Howard Auto Body & Repair is that shop. Antonio Espinoza is the owner. He is also the first person you will shake hands with then you walk in the door. I will send anyone I know to Howard Auto Body & Repair with the comfort of knowing that Antonio will treat them as though they were part of his family.My first estimate was at Midas on Grand Ave. downtown. They quoted me $2400 to fix my 1992 vehicle. After I left there, I felt my car was in far worse condition than when I dropped it off. I then took it to Fair Muffler and Repair on Broadway in Rogers Park. His first quote was $300. When I agreed, he said “well, maybe up to $400, let me look up the parts.” When he came back, the quote was $900. I left and stopped by home to look online for shops. When I got back down to my car 20 minutes later, my brakes had bled out. Until that moment I had no problems with my brakes. While it may have been one heck of a coincidence, I couldn’t help but feel as though they had messed with my car.I drove it with almost no brakes to Howard Auto Body & Repair. My friend had recommended me to them. Antonio saw that I was very stressed out and upset over the days events. He took a lot of time out of his day to explain everything to me in full detail. He took me in the shop, showed me what was wrong, explained how the parts work. He took the time to calm me down, and make me feel very comfortable with leaving my car there with him. They did the work in the same day, staying late after hours to explain the work that they had done.Antonio went the extra mile, and then some. I honestly felt as though he was treating me the same way that he would his family. I know what most people in this industry are like. I have a very good judge of character. Antonio’s bottom line is not about large profits, his biggest concern is customer service and customer perception. Sitting on the comfortable couch watching television as they worked past hours to finish the job, I listened to Antonio talk to his employees. How people treat the people that work for them is a very good gauge to measure character. Antonio talked to this young man as though he was his son. It was then that I was sure I had found a diamond in the rough. An honest and caring auto repair shop that you can trust.

This place is the best! This was my second experience here at howard auto body. The first time they fixed my side mirror on my Galant. That was a few years back. I recently got into an accident (not my fault) with my honda cr-z so i thought Id give them another try. Super friendly and helpful staff. I had yet to deal with the other persons insurance company, and Frankie, one of the people that works there took it upon himself to explain to me how the insurance process works and even called them for me! He helped me hash out all the details with the insurance company and get everything squared away so they could start working on my car. They did a great job again this time fixing our bumper and lights. The crew here went above and beyond what I was expecting. They even washed my car! Knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable. Definitely recommend this place, especially if youve been in an accident and dont know how to deal with insurance, these guys will lead you in the right direction.

I am up dating my review as in the beginning all the work was great. How ever things went down hill and if you have a problem with the work they do there garenteed work means nothing. They will try to get out of fixing something they did.We have spend about 4,000 dollars maybe even more on fixing our H3 hummer. For that you would think they would value you as a customer but instead the work got shotty.When things got bad was then we got new tiers on the Car the glue was never cleaned off the rims and I spent a good amount of time scraping it off.Not a big deal till they called me to tell me the forgot to do a tier alignment on the car. But only months latter not right way.I asked for an oil change after getting some stuff done and it was never done. They would say they were going to get me a new key made and that never happen. Because before the tier problem they did great work so I just let those thing slide.then bigger problems came.Then they say the are awesome at body work this is so laughable. We had a leak coming from our sun roof and under the drivers side threw the dash.It shorted out our computer and we spend about 2,500 on fixing the leak, computer and drying the carpet out and cleaning. The head liner so the water stain was gone. It was good for about 5 months and all the water came back in the same spots. The head liner had horrible water stains again and the carpeting reeked of water and mold. I called them and they said to bring it in. I did but it was a few days later and they said that they would “water test it” they cleamed they found nothing. Yet my floor was so wet and the head liner they cleaned even says it in the record of things they did.The head liner was stained again. They said well if you would have brought it in when it was raining we could have helped you... hmm ok wow that’s so helpful. I asked them what they could do and they said that there was nothing they could do becaus there spray hose water test and didn’t find anything. Even thought they never sprayed the car all over only in on a small spot.I asked what they could do and said really nothing because we found nothing. So my husband Called a friend that lived far away that dose auto body. He came out to visit us and found. The leek right away. He fixed it for FREE Even thought that’s what Howard auto should have done. It was all in the same spot that they claimed was not leaking. Don’t wast your money there. I feel stupid for ever letting them take that much money for me and ever telli f friends to go there. Stay ways unless you want to pay a lot for nothing.

Wheh my car died on me I became stranded in Evanston 25 miles away from home. Not only was the owner friendly & caring as I was calling him panicked at his closing hour but he did a thorough check on my car to let me know what was wrong with zero charge. Between him & my normal mechanics it was determined that my car was unsalvageable ... he let me keep my car on his lot for like a week until I could find an affordable tow truck to bring it home to sell for parts. He could of parked it on the street or could of been rude since I was bringing him no business... instead he was compassionate & kind. Clearly shows the type of person he is. If I move to Evanston as I hope, this place will be my mechanic shop.
