Will be back to try all the wonderful looking pastries! The space is lovely and spacious. My pistachio croissant tasted great though baked a little too long for my personal preference. The drip coffee was nicely balanced.
Coffee is fine but the food is great. Chocolate croissant is amazing
A sweet and magical quarantine escape ✨I almost don’t want to write this review because I fear that my raving review might attract more people to our favorite neighborhood spot but the people are great, and the food/coffee is even better (which is hard to top.) I love the regular drip coffee but their seasonal Peppermint Mocha ☕️ is the best I’ve ever had and the Kouign-amann is to die for. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you haven’t.
Great coffee, best pastries youll ever have. And the soup is awesome too
Absolutely in love with this place. The feel and look are enough to draw just about anyone in but the pastries are delicious, the service is impeccable and the selection of drinks is basically perfect. Plus theyre really doing their best to respect social distancing
At Good Ambler, I have officially eaten the best ham & cheese croissant I have ever had in my life. So happy and cant wait to dive into the kouign amann- which Ive had mulitiple times before and already know that is the best. Close second is the kouign amann from Flour in Boston. But Good Ambler is tops. Very happy
Five stars in all regards - amazing space to do work or catch up with a friend, delicious pastries for both your eyes and mouth, good coffee, Good Ambler
Really pretty place to chill and enjoy some coffee and pastries. Love the ambiance. Coffee and teas are good. Foods are good.
This is my absolute favorite bakery in Chicago! You will not be disappointed. Order the kouign-amann!!
Beautiful space, great tea lattes, pastries and croissants however the staff has been rude several times, a definite turn off.
Amazing croissant, great space, and fun to watch them producing their goods in the back
Love it. Beautiful ambience in a very large, open Covid-aware space. Friendly barrista and staff
Magical pastries and mythical drinks. Its what I dreamed a kouign aman would taste like accompanied by the best London fog.
Always delicious. First time I got to stay and enjoy the seating area which was amazing
This is definitely my favorite bakery in Chicago. The pastries are phenomenal: the croissants are super flaky and buttery, and in general most things are not cloying. The kouign amann is definitely the best Ive had in the US.The indoor dining is super spacious (it would be crazy spacious even for a sit down restaurant much less a cafe) and its not super busy, so it is one of the few places where we dine in.
Super friendly staff, and a great place to stop and spend time with friends
I like their prices. The interior is beautiful as well.
Amazing and fresh pastries. Great coffee. Very friendly staff. It’s perfect!
Great pastries. The sticky bun and brownie were fantastic
I will caveat this rating with the fact that we only had the drip coffee which tasted burnt and left a chaulky taste in my mouth. I will definitely go back to try the pastries and homemade candy. I will also try the espresso vs the drip next time in the hopes of a better experience. Finally, the ambiance is a 5/5. But if you cant get the drip coffee right, it makes me wonder how they get the rest of it right.
Everything is good here. Literally, everything. I know you think Im exaggerating, but even things that I dont normally like are DELICIOUS here. Go! Go, right now!
The thin silver lining of the pandemic has been the pasteries that have sprouted and really raised the bar for all of Chicago. Between Good Ambler and Aya, good luck to the rest of the shops, because these two are best in class.
Ambiance is amazing but the pistachio cake was awful! Was not impressed by the baked goods what so ever. Coffee is so so.
The space is beautiful and roomy. The barista made me an amazing Matcha Latte. I will most definitely return when Im back in Chicago!
I love this spot! With a huge space/high ceilings, I don’t feel uncomfortable sitting inside. The employees at the counter do a great job with directing you to tables so there’s buffer space between seating and it looks like folks are always cleaning. The pastries are so pretty and delicious. It’s really hard to choose just one snack. They have little and large sweets depending on how bad you want to be, they also have chocolates and caramels. On the savory side they have this ham & cheese croissant that gives me butterflies. Seriously, everything you put in your mouth is delicious. This is a great spot for solo reading or studying and also perfect for meeting up for a few friends to catch-up.
Such a nice place to have some coffee and relax.
Good coffee, nice pastries, great ambiance
Amazing service and the pastries are just wonderful. They are full of flavor without knocking you over with sugar as so many places are apt to do. The Paris Brest may be the highlight of my culinary summer. The place looks wonderful and as soon as it can fully open I imagine you’ll always have difficulties getting a seat.
Good London fog, chai, matcha, quiche, and pastries made in-house. Thanks to Aidan and Tomas for the excellent service.
Just go! This coffee shop is amazing
Most creative Bakery, ever! Just yymmy.
You have try the chocolate marquise, its to die for. And the whole vibe is just awesome.
This place has a nice selection of desserts such as cakes, patries, and candy. I would like to see more doughnuts or cookies, but what I had was very good. Specifically I had the cookies n cream bar, the ginger chocolate (could have been a little stronger on the ginger), and the pimento cheese dip (which had a nice kick). Also tried the green tea latte which was good as well. Staff was very friendly too!
Great place for coffee and a pastry on a Saturday morning. Always fun to see what new pastries they have. Associates super friendly. Also, check out the kitchen. Will be back.
Best pastries in Chicago. Hands down.
Stopped in on a Sunday for pasties which did not disappoint! They had butternut squash soup which is really hard for me to pass up. So glad I didn’t as it was perfection. I even got the salad to go since it sounded so good. Keep in mind I stopped in for one pastry. I will be back!!
Beautiful place. Very delicious pastries.
Best coffee in Chicago, no doubt.
So friendly and seating is open again! Nice selection of pastry options (that are really good).
Excellent croissants, chocolates and chai tea lattes. The ham and cheese croissant is great for breakfast or lunch!
Oreo cookies made by pastry chefs! nuf said.
Quality fresh coffee and pastries. Great for quick stops and the staff are inviting and knowledgeable.
Support this local pastry and coffeeshop. The almond coffee cake is so moist and delicious
Very well designed place will definitely come back again when its open for dine inThe coffee and the bakery items are just perfect
Their staff is super friendly and the London Fog is delicious! All of their pastries and chocolates are so beautiful
Love the atmosphere and the little chocolates
Amazing! Had an oat milk honey latte, muffin and a tart they were all amazing and fairly priced. My new coffee spot
Best airy croissants and other pastries
Legit bakery
Amazing coffee, pasties and chocolate
Great vibes.
I’m quite literally obsessed with this place! They have great coffee and even better treats. I like trying new desserts/pastries every time I go as their kitchen chefs are always experimenting with new recipes and updating their seasonal offerings. The coffee shop also hosts various pop ups on weekends supporting other local businesses and entrepreneurs which I love. Great spot to settle in and get some work done or to simply grab a snack.
Introduce this store in a little bit→Good AmblerThere is a coffee shop on the first floor, and an office upstairsIt used to be a snack factoryThe parent company is called MondelēzIts more famous snack brands include Oreo, Ritz, triangle chocolate TobleronThose who are interested can invest, but it seems to have been falling recentlyOkay, thats not the pointThe point is that the cake is deliciousRich in layers and well matched🥕Carrot CakeServed with apricot jam with a hint of cinnamon, white chocolate, almond crispy bottomI don’t like cinnamon and almonds, but this one is delicious ww🍫Chocolate crunchServed with pickled cherry jam, vanilla seed whipped cream, salted biscuits, chocolate mousse, chocolate chipsThe salty biscuits are only a little bit, which brings out the richness of chocolate.Cherry jam only has a bit of sourness in the tail and tail, which just balances the sweetnessToo much to provoke
My experience with them has been incredible, they have very good attention, they will explain in detail about the concept of the Coffee and its pastry area, in particular I have tried the ginger and coconut cake, the carrot and zucchini muffin, their varieties of chocolate and nougat, not to mention the cappuccino, I have not disappointed of that place, it is incredible, they really deserve 5 stars.. I always order take out but the place is incredible to enjoy a good coffee and some pastries. My experience with them has been incredible, they have very good attention, they will explain in detail about the concept of the Café and its pastry area, in particular I have tried the ginger and coconut sponge cake, the carrot and zucchini muffin, its varieties of chocolate and Nougat, not to mention the cappuccino, I havent been disappointed with that place, its amazing, they really deserve 5 stars.P.S.
