OK first of all I think I was over charge for a caliper and rotor $700 plus I had to wait in there from 11 until 5:45 Plus I had to go get a part that they told me They didn’t have it and I had to wait in to tomorrow when they could just go to the auto parts pick up the part and put it on they made me wait six hours in there if they would’ve told me at the beginning I could’ve just went by my self pick up the parts and bring them back so they could put them on

It was late afternoon on a Thursday and I was going on a trip Friday morning. I needed new tires and an alignment ASAP. I searched for shops and no one wanted to help me or had time for me. It wasn’t until I reached this store and spoke to a gentleman named Jason. He was so helpful, got me in early AND gave me a great deal along with great service. He even went out of his way to help out my husband with an extra piece needed for his truck. I definitely recommend, so professional yet friendly!!

Got a call 11:30 AM, teenager with a flat at Sams Club. Figured thats ok since Im a member but they couldnt do anything. First opening was in two weeks.(!) After a quick search found Jason, Miguel and Juan at Pep Boys. Not only were they able to do a quick patch on the tire so we could get there, they were able to get the car in and install a new set and have us on our way by 5:30 on a very busy Sunday. Also a premium set of tires was less than I would have paid at Sams. Excellent service all around. Theyre the real deal. Thanks to all for the effort.

The guy Daniel was a good guy my battery light & brake light was on and I was thinking the alternator but when check by the technicians they said battery was dead but when changed the lights was still on, so I needed a alternator, didn’t have the money so Daniel got it to a price that I could work with*** If it wasn’t for Daniel no tell when I would have got the repair***

Went to get a flat tire fixed. They told me the wait is 1.5 hours, I said fine I can walk around to kill time. I came back around two hours later and my car is still outside. They said my car is next and they are pulling it in right now. I kept seeing cars in and out and mine never went in. It had been around 4 hours since I first got there. I asked for my keys back and got my tire fixed somewhere else which only took half hour. What a waste of time.

Terrible customer service. I booked a appointment for an oil change on 9/25 and they state a two hour wait. However, gave me the option to come back at a different time and guaranteed no wait for a simple oil change. Once again, I’m told a two hour or more wait for a oil change. After, waiting for 10 plus mins for someone to even speak to me for services. Would not recommend. A waste of time and unprofessional!

I went to Pep Boys June 6, 2021, at 8am, to get a diagnostic check on my car’s A/C, hoping they would tell me why my cars A/C wasn’t working, if there was a leak, something? I received a call from Pep Boys sometime after 11am telling me that they couldn’t find a leak. I asked what’s wrong with my A/C ? The Technician didn’t know, but he tried to sell me another service that could find the leak and problem to my A/C for $173, which is more than double for the diagnostic service of $62. I told him, I came to Pep Boys so they could find what’s wrong with my A/C and get it fixed, not to be told They don’t know and then be sold another service to continue the fishing expedition.I went to Pep Boys hoping to find out why my A/C wasn’t working, and I left without answers and was charged $62, for a diagnostic service that didn’t give me any answers.I believe Pep Boys shouldn’t offer services that don’t give their clients any positive results. Why advertise your A/C diagnostic service if you can’t give me the answers I need to get my A/C fixed ? Why charge me for a diagnostic service that didn’t lead to the problem and the solution to the problem ? “ I don’t know what’s wrong, you don’t know what’s wrong, but here’s your $62, diagnostic service fee.” That’s the Pep Boy way.I called Pep Boys Corporate office in Pennsylvania and informed them of what happened, and I was told that I would receive a call in 2 days, I was given a case # 773 732, and I waited but the call never came. I called their corporate office today, June 8, and explained my experience again and was told I would receive a call today. I’ve been waiting since …,I rate Pep Boys in Cicero, Illinois a Big Fat ZERO !!!I will never go there again, and thank God I only had to pay $62 in order fo find out what kind of shop this is. Don’t take your car to Pep Boys in Cicero, Illinois, it has so many bad customer reviews for a reason. They have earned their bad reputation.

How does anyone ever check up on their vehicles or talk to a live person here I can never get through to speak with anyone sometimes it just rings sometimes it doesnt ring at all and just hangs up and other times you just get the elevator music that plays Non-Stop called several times over the last weeks to see if an old coworker still work there to work on my vehicle because I prefer taking it to someone I have history with with zero luck getting anyone to answer from any department.

Went in for a tire repair, waited close to 2hrs just to say my tire wasnt repairable, and still was charged a fee. I took the tire to Costco and they repaired the tire easy, at a significantly cheaper price. Either this place is trying to screw people over or they need better materials and training. Don’t go this pep boys location or used pep boys towing company. I have never had a bad experience into I setup a online appointment for car diagnosis. They wasn’t able to tell me what wrong with my car and they made me pay two times for towing. Below is the store supervisor who was very rude and wasn’t able to handle situations. She made me call customer service who also wasnt able to resolve my issues as well.

Do not come here, Im warning you, I came for a simple oil changed & they left my under carriage hanging out & its bumping on the ground whenever I drive, needeless to say, that was yesterday August 26th 2021, so today August 27th 2021 Im back here for them to.fix their mistake & they gave me a bad attitutude over the phone plus in person, the lady extremely rude demanding I wear a mask, I said its not a law so she had her buddy acting like he was gonna jump me & Im a lady alone with my 2 small kids, do not come here people bad bad bad sad case

So disappointed and frustrated with my experience in this location. I waited two hours just for them to tell me the person who does the service I needed is all backed up and would take several hours to look at my vehicle. I made an appointment days in advance, so what is the point of an appointment?Extremely disorganized place and lack of customer service skills. I do not recommend this place at all. Throughout my time waiting there was a couple of customers complaining about one thing or another. Says a lot about this place. Waste of time for sure.

I would give 0 if I could. My appointment was for 5:00 today, I left my car there and was going to wait for a call. At 7:30 there was still nothing so I decided to head to the store, 10 minutes later, I get there and they BARELY started working on changing my tires, 20 minutes till closing. I was the only customer left. He finished in about half an hour. They couldn’t even get the tire pressure right and my rims were badly scraped. Besides that Grace was great.

I walked in with an appointment. In front of me a man was being helped by staff, after helping the man and I was next the staff member walks away leaving me just standing there. While Im just standing there a woman is at another counter next to the one Im at and just looks at me...says nothing...is playing with her nails...so natural I think shes not open or taking customers. In comes my boyfriend...walks to the woman at the counter...and she helps him...what am I..chopped liver?

Horrible place. I’m looking at people’s reviews and the response from supposedly the owner talking about to leave your info to investigate the problem is straight garbage. There’s tons of bad reviews and there’s still no discipline. No serious management, workers just walking around texting very unprofessional 👎👎. My first and last time. I really hope whoever is in charge of management to really do a dramatic change cause the workers just suck

Dropped my car off a half hour before my appointment time, came back to check on it since no one called 2 hours after my appointment time to find out they couldnt get it started by jumping it. I doubt they even tried to jump it because my husband jumped it in the lot before I went inside to speak with someone and it started with no problem. Never again will I use this location. Needless to say Ive taken my vehicle somewhere else where people are actually capable of doing their job.

If i could give 0 stars i would i went in on a saturday for a side mirror repair where i was told it would have to be painted and i should receive it by that wednesday i called everyday that week just to be told i had to speak to the person who placed the order i called again today to be told that the person i placed the order with will give me a call he was busy with a customer i called at 1:48 Pm didn’t receive a call back till 8:52pm just to say my mirror came in but it wasnt painted and they will have to send it back out and it want be ready till maybe saturday this has been the worse experience

I had made an appointment for an alignment and a tire change. They didn’t bring it into the shop till 20mins after. I was told everything would take an hour and a half. Waited over 2 and a half hours to get 1 tire changed and just for them to say the alignment can’t be done and asked if I would like to get other issues fixed for $1200. Terrible service, and I watched the mechanic do nothing for 40minutes but stand there.

They are overpriced it took him a whole day to look at my vehicle to run a diagnostic check engine light that should only take 10 to 20 minutes. I would not be going back there then they had to order a part which took almost two weeks which I couldnt drive my vehicle I could have got that part in three to four days if I could ordered myself. They say theyre going to call you but they never call I must have called there about 4 to 5 times just that one day. Go there at your own risk overpriced.

I was so fortunate to get an appointment the same day and everyone there was very nice and kept me updated every step of the way. They were very helpful and knowledgeable and explained everything to me so I could understand. They gave me the options and did the new tire installation very soon after. The day worked out perfectly as then I showed them my Lyft app and we did the Lyft inspection as well. It was such a smooth few hours. Graciela D at the front is very nice and was helping everyone who came in. I believe Oscar G is the one who did the work and helped explain everything to me as well (name provided on the receipt). So big thank you to everyone!!!! I couldn’t remember if I’ve ever been to Pep Boys in the past, but this experience was very nice and they offer a lot of good deals and explain everything nicely especially on such short notice of needing assistance :) coming from the city, but Cicero is only a handful of miles away, prefer this shop and location over any I’ve been to near me.

My car’s check engine light turned on as I was driving down Cicero Ave. I noticed the Pep Boys shop immediately, so I decide to go ahead and get my car scanned to see what’s wrong. The store was empty, only two customers and about 5 employees. When I get to the service desk I ask about getting the car scanned and he tells me he doesn’t have people for that now, only oil changes. I suggest Pep Boys hires capable employees because wow. I will post the employees name when I go again.

I would never take my car there. A friend bought 4 brand new tires, shes had 2 flat tires and the tires she paid for were dry rot. They made her wait 2 hours because they had paying customers and they didnt want to miss that money. This is sad at how people are treated. As we called to report the service their then someone came to assist her. Not did this happen once or twice, but 3 different times.

After going to another tire shop & having the worst experience this pep boys location has change my entire mood! I need two new tires & my lugs we’re stripped . The Assistant manager came out in the freezing cold to check my tires, match them with the ones I already have in the front & will be replacing them . He made sure that my car will be serviced on right away but there will be a wait time (which is fine) . He also explained to me what needs to be done & the steps and gave me a great prices. I appreciate how he took his time to explain the process. Not many places would do this . Overall I’m giving his customer service 5 stars because it was well deserved. Thank you ! ✊🏾🙌🏾

Went there one evening at 7 pm. The employees were sitting around on their phones. They told me to leave as they are not taking in any cars. But they close at 8 pm. They wouldn’t even take a look at the car. Must be nice being paid for at least an hour doing nothing.... telling people to leave. 0 stars if possible.

They were extremely unprofessional and rude. In particular, Israel Sanchez. He refused to replace my oil the day before telling me that I needed to setup appointment so I did for the following day at 930. I arrive the next day at 9:00 which I told him I just needed the labor for the work because I bought my own synthetic oil and filter. He charged me just for the labor and when I asked his for a quote on time he told me that it was being pulled into garage right now. The was right before I proceeded to wait 3½hrs before they finished. I checked in with Isreal every 35-40mins or so for update which I recieved nothing but look of utter disgust and attitude telling me the guy was still working on it. My vehicle has 108xxx miles on it. But had just got my oil replaced less than a month before. I will NEVER return here. And will try my best to advice the most people I can against this location. If I could rate lower than 1 I would.

Would give no stars if possible. Been two week of trying to get my car fixed after their repair guy diagnosed my scrubbing sound as a hub bearing issue, and then afterwards was told it was the differential. Play phone tag for a week with pepboys and the warranty place until finally I was told they had to order the part and it would be there the following Tuesday. I take off work and called several times and still no part. Now Im told to bring it the following day which I have to work and cant afford to take off foe.the repair. I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE MAKE CAR THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!

I came there just to fill up the new form for uber inspection at 5:30 and they lied to me that they are doing that only until 5pm and that I need their STAMP which is not existing! I had to drive all the way back and to come back tomorrow, so they could charge me as i am doing the new inspection, which is not fair since i have done the inspection already. They don’t care and are lying to their customers. Awful service.

Hi I just want to give a shout out to José the assistant manager and his staff at this location his service was above and beyond and all his staff was friendly and courteous. They took the time to explain what repairs and maintenance my car needed and kept me posted and updated. Now I do want to say that he did handle himself professionally during an incident while I was there. There was an unruly customer that was upset her vehicle had not been service and he explained to her that until her warranty or fleet company I believe he said gave them permission for repairs they could not do anything. This customer was upset saying that it’s always the same thing and he again tried to explain to her that it’s not his fault they haven’t given the go ahead to work on the car. If it was me I would call my warranty company and let them know they need to hurry up and not blame the middle man. I remember this day vividly because after he finish speaking with her I was his next customer. And the fact that he was able to brush off her rude and harsh behavior and words was incredible. I guess she still wasn’t happy because she kept talking a whole lot of mess while she was leaving. Anyways I know sometimes people write reviews based on emotions and not facts, but because I received such high quality service I feel there needs to be a review written and let everyone know that I will definitely be coming back.

Took my car in at 10am for a check engine light. The car was shaking and losing speed while driving.ask for a diagnostic n estimate. 6 hours later cost 800.00 and told car has transmission code errors they cant fix. Got the car check engine light still on car still shaking and losing power when accelerated and I was on city street max speed 35mph. What a waste of my money. They could have told me from the beginning about the trans code then tried to sell me new tires. Nope not today or Ever Again. Parts wasv216.00 labor costs over 500.00 and 90.00 diagnostic that they wont even deduct if you repair the car on site. Definitely not good at explaining mechanical things to females, i had to keep interrupting him to explain in terms I could understand. 800.00 out the window and when I tried to ask why is the check engine light on after I paid. The man walked away and left me standing there n never came back.i dont believe they did any work at all on my car as it drives exactly the same before I paid to have it fix.

Awesome place. Mathew was a great salesman. Walked only wanting to spend $50 ended up leaving with $350 worth of parts. I arrived at 7:30am and didnt leave til 12:30pm. If you Love wasting Time you can come here for 4hours for an oil change. You can literally drive to any other location and return back to 26th and Cicero there will still be a long time before you get your car serviced here. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worse enemy. Extremely slow service. If you call yourself going just because its a closer location I wish you the best of luck.

Receptionist was extremely rude. She didnt even know how to answer my questions. She told me I had to make an appointment no questions asked. I called another pep boys in Berwyn and they directed me back to this location saying they do in fact have walk ins and they should be able to do it. So I came to the Cicero location.Update: Just walked in and they accepted my walk in. Janette was the name of the receptionist who didnt know how to answer my question and had no idea what to do. She works in the parts and repair section.Do better Janette. 👏👏 Because other people in different locations are doing it better than you.

Didnt give us the right battery, we went to menard the very same day and the battery worked from there and fit better. Plus didnt offer their free installation or the Champion battery rebates which I found out after reading their sales paper. You would think the installation would be mentioned at least even if the rebate isnt which it SHOULD be anyway because menard which is bigger tells you about their rebates.

I was warned not to come here but i gave it a chance and i regret it! I made a 10 am appointment so that there would be no trouble. Came in at 9:30 to be safe and there was no one at the desk by the garage so i went in and this young Hispanic man with a pony tail was at a computer i asked him if he could help he could barely say yep. Ive never seen someone so unhappy to do their job he probably shouldnt be in anything customer service related. I checked in he said there was 1 car before me and the woman next to me was a walk in. I waited until right before 11 and after the woman after me had left to see what was going on. I went to check all he could do was roll his eyes and look for my keys which were now behind 4/5 others WHO CAME AFTER ME. I put in a formal complaint but STAY AWAY!!

Went in for a Tire Rotation and since i have my tires marked to prevent them from being installed backwards again, When I Left I checked them and to my surprise, the tires were in the same place as they were before the service. So in other words, they did not do the job even tho its clearly on the invoice. I Do not trust PepBoys anymore for any service. I feel like for example if you go for an oil change, they will not change the oil and just charge you for it.

My car was towed to that location. It says theater in the parking lot for approximately 3 weeks. Upon trying to diagnose it because it said so long my battery was dead. And they could not diagnose the internal problem with my vehicle. Come to find out all it needed was a tune-up. Thanks for nothing guys.

I must say when I first when in 1/28/16 I was very angry because I got my breaks done less than 3 months ago with Pep Boys this place specifically and then my breaks started grinding again I spent around over $200.00 and for less than 3 months they started again I was so angry and talked with the manager Jose he understood why I was angry and offered to take a look at them no charge then to find out there was a problem he took care of me and my car and they know that the safety of there customers comes first he offered to fix my car on there behalf and I was satisfied that they went above and beyond to get the work done now thats 100% quality service I do recommend people to go there specifically and get the work done right and done it in a orderly manner I am happy that they fixed my car and I am going to return to buy 4 new tires which I will say it come with a 55,000 mile

This is the second time for horrible experience. Employees as well as managers are horrible. I will never ever recommend anyone. My father takes his car there I will convince him to go elsewhere. People if you read the reviews please take your business elsewhere.

Stood in front of 3 employees under the SERVICE sign trying to get some service however, they were more worried about their own conversation. 10 minutes later and no help so I just walked out. I do not recommend this company at all. They are only there for one thing, your money. It makes me sick to my stomach reading these reviews ...

I made an appointment at 4pm, right off the bat when I got here staff was rude, the guy seemed annoyed. I was told at around 430 that I would be next as soon as they finished with the car in front of me. I continued to wait, at 5pm I was told the same thing, youre next, once they finish with car. It is now 5:20and I am continuing to wait for an oil change.mind you, they have 2 empty spaces in their garage that dont have any cars being worked on. There are 6 workers here and only two of them are working on cars, or so it seems. I came here because my dad has been coming to this store since I was little, but clearly it is the last time I come here. Update, I got up at 5:30 and asked for my keys back because the wait time was ridiculous. The guy told me that, there were still two cars in front of me, that he apologized that they were busy. to which I replied that, that wasnt what I was told and by the looks of it, only two people were actually working on cars, the rest were eating and talking. this place is ridiculous, dont go here. I recommend After Hours Repair shop on Laramie and 29th Pl.

One of your employees is very rude and unprofessional. His name is Maurice. I stood at the desk waiting for him to ask me if I needed help while he was having outside and unsolicited conversations with his employee friends. Then, he asked me how could he help me with unsolicited flirtation. He made me feel very UNCOMFORTABLE as a woman who was trying to buy some items from this store. I felt very disrespected and devalued as a CUSTOMER at this location, 2501 south Cicero. Because of this unwarranted and uncomfortable interaction with Maurice, I decided to leave this store immediately and went to another retail store that was not Pep Boys to purchase my $200.00 worth of items with dignity.

If you want to wait almost 3h for a oil change, thats the place. I had an appointment. They put my car on the lift right away, then, all mechanics disappeared for 1h, then, finally the job was done in slow motion for almost 2hrs. Funny thing is when I walked in a guy was coming out and told me to prepare for a long wait. He was right.2-starts just cause of the cheap price for oil change.

The customer service could of been better. I sat & waited for 2 hours for a service that I was told would only take 15 to 30 minutes. When I inquired about what was taking so long, the Manager acted like he didn’t know what I was waiting on & claimed he didn’t know who I was even though I sat in this same establishment the Previous day for 4 hours. Mind you they had my car keys the entire time. Eventually they came back to inform me that the part sent over for my vehicle was the wrong part. I wasted 7 hours in the establishment within 2 days & nothing was resolved.

I ended up here only because while on my way to an appointment in chicago & my van broke down on the highway. The tow company brought me to this location since it was the closest place. I dont live anywhere close to this place & so I was pretty stuck. I talked to the guy inside & was told that it would be $90 just for a diagnostic on it. Really?!? $90 to hook up a machine that will take 2 minutes to tell them whats wrong. Anyway, I explained that if I were to pay the $90 that I wouldnt have money for parts, labor or gas home. I got told that I could apply for a card through them. Told them no thanks. So, I sat for hours in my van on a cold day trying to figure out what I can do to get home. The employees there were very unconcerned that I was out in their parking lot alone & cold. They would come out on their smoke breaks & see me there, but didnt even wave. They were nice enough to let me use their restroom throughout the day & I did have to leave my van there for a few days, so they were nice & said they wouldnt tow it.
