These guys are the best!! My intent was to just get my car smoged, but my car overheated. Not only did they fix the problem, but they smoged it as well in just a few hours without me even asking. I dont even live in Clovis, but I almost always make the special trip when its smog time. I have an older car, so sometimes I need repairs to pass the inspection, and they never fail me!!

This is the second time I used this company. First time on a corvette and this morning on my dodge diesel truck. ALWAYS so quick and very professional! Not very close to me but worth the drive to Clovis!

This was my first visit to Clovis Auto Shop. I needed new tires and they were offering a free alignment with the purchase of 4 tires. I also needed an oil change. They had a few repair recommendations and also let me know what needed to be done at the next oil change. Everybody was friendly and kept me updated on the status of my repairs. I arrived a little early for my 8 am appointment. I was looking to have a failed smog at another shop diagnosed. They pulled it in the shop just after 8 am. They check what failed at the other shop and it was working fine at this point. They smogged my truck and it passed. They charged me just for the price of the smog. I paid and was out the door at 8:25 am. It was a great customer experience all the way around. I will recommend this shop and for sure will return if I need service again.

Best smog check experience ever.

Since our car was sent to Clovis Auto Shop for routine inspection and servicing in September 2019, we have had repeated car problems happening almost every month and have spent over $5000 in car repairs. I have had loose electric connections, battery issues and timing chain problems, all of which started 1 month after the initial inspection and servicing at this auto shop. Although my car is 7 years old, I have never had any problems with the car since before we went to this auto shop. I am leaving this review so that other customers can be aware. We were hoping to find a private shop for our routine needs, but I guess we were wrong. Sticking with the dealership going on forward. Disappointed!!

This auto shop explains everything clearly and honestly. As someone who knows nothing about mechanics, I felt like I understand what my car needed. They dumbed it down for me.I felt like this was a doctor for my car, and before I left I had a scheduled plan when I needed to see them again. I also know pretty much when Ill need to make other repairs, all the way to a year out.Chris was extremely helpful. Their inspection program was downright amazing. It allowed my husband and I to look at everything together, with pictures, and decide before I went back what we were going to get done on our car.Melli was really nice and gave me a ride to and from the shop, which was really handy. Overall, a really great experience, and Im really happy to have found them.

We moved to Fresno from New York last year and were lucky to find an Auto Shop that has the experience, knowledge and integrity that Clovis Auto Shop has. Visiting from Arizona and we had a problem with our car after a flat tire. We thought we were going to have to replace the alternator but after going to Clovis Auto Shop they did a diagnostic and told us we did not need to replace the alternator saving us a couple hundred dollars. They also gave us an amazing report on everything that we needed on our car and made us feel confident that we could get back to Arizona safely. The waiting room was comfortable and our children loved the water and goldfish. If we lived here wed definitely come back!

Initially came in for a smog test. It took maybe 10-15 minutes. They send the result electronically to DMV. I didnt have a coupon but Phillip gave the discount anyways without me asking for it. I was crying inside. I may have found a trustworthy mechanic.He gave a quote for my brakes & rack & pinion, & explained to me what theyre going to do. He gave me different options for the parts instead of just giving the highest price. I mentioned I was going to drive it to Arizona so he included free travel/ fluids check up & tire rotation. And I also got 10% discount with the parts. Oh and they also took the initiative to call the dealership to see if my rack & pinion was still covered. He told me that I still have about 15k miles on my rear brake (vs replacing it to make money).Very pleased. Ill surely come back again (knock on wood) if my van breaks down.

Really, probably the best shop I have been to. A dealership said a lot of scary words and gave me a huge price tag making it sound like my car was going to die on me any second, so I came here for a second opinion. Their inspection results are texted to you, and pictures can be attached. Chris was wonderful, getting me a quick accurate estimate and explaining which of the things should really be taken care of today and which we could monitor for now. I had an early morning appointment, and with some parts replaced, I got my car back at the end of the day from a shop I trust and for a more reasonable price than the dealership. Plus, the shop is near downtown Clovis, so plenty of places to walk to if you decided to wait.Ill be returning for sure.

I would never go back there again. I was failed because i have an K&N air flow system that does not have a label on it, but they hooked my vehicle up to the smog machine anyway. So they told me i needed the model number of the K&N air flow system i had on my vehicle, which i provided. Then they said it does not match the picture shown online so they denied the test again. the K&N was bought in 05, come on, of course its not going to look the same. I went on a recommendation from a mechanic i use often and when i explained what had happened, he was upset too. The thing is, is that Ive never had issues like this before at any other smog shop. They were supposed to do a visual inspection (as stated in their contract) that would have automatically caused my vehicle to fail, but they did not. So i finally spoke to the manager and i explained to him that what had happened was BS and that his tech guy should have done the visual first and failed the vehicle if this was the case. I also explained that Ive never had this issue before at any other smog shop and i was there on recommendation. he explained to me, and i quote, Sir, if we were to do everything the proper and nice way, we would not be in business. he went on to say, we have been in business for over 30 years here and if we were to do the right thing every time a customer comes through that door, we would not be here. So he told me that he would pass the vehicle if i had the original air flow system if i still had it, which i did at no additional cost. however, i did have to buy him lunch. BS!!! I went home and put the original system back on and my my vehicle passed like nothing. My experience was unbelievable, and i would never go back there again. It just makes me think how many go there and they run their BS on. Sad... hope this review helps somebody else out. Thanks.

This place is absolutely amazing I had called him about an issue with getting bolts off my door to replace my regulator and they told me bring it on in well get it taken care of they were super quick with getting the bolts out that were extremely hard to get out the technician was really nice and the manager was absolutely wonderful I definitely recommend them to anybody and I will myself be going back again for any issues I have thank you guys very much

Very courteous and professional. Got me in next morning and back on the road the morning after. Would have been same day but my part was atypical and didn’t come in until 7am the next day. It I still got my truck back in 24 hours from my appointment time. Offered OEM or aftermarket (I prefer OEM). Shop rate is about what you will find from most reputable garages but less than dealership. Definitely recommend for major repairs.

I have taken my car there twice now, both times with out an appointment for automotive repair. Both times they were more then nice, they got back to me quickly with what was wrong with my car and had an estimate that was fair. Went in for low tire pressure (bought tires here 15 months earlier). Thought I ran over a nail (did not purchase a warranty). They inspected the tire and said there was a slow leak at the bead. They re-mounted and re-sealed the tire, checked pressures and rotated all tires. No charge. Awesome service, courteous staff, and nicest waiting room in Clovis!

Clovis Auto shop is an honest shop. They thoroughly investigate and do the work that is needed. They dont cost an arm and a leg. They are honest and affordable. I highly recommend.

My first experiences with this shop were very good. However, my last two were not. I took my diesel truck in for a smog test. They told me it failed because the Engine Control Module was not ready for test. They told me it was going to be around $200 to re-flash the computer or up to $1200 for a new ECM. I contacted the smog referee through the Bureau of Automotive Repair for the area and he was able to determine that my particular vehicle was a federal diesel and not a California diesel, therefore it is to be tested differently. I took it back to Clovis Auto and informed them. They did not believe me and I had to contact the referee by phone and he talked to them and told them how to run the test. They re-ran the test and it passed. How can you test a vehicle, much less accept payment, if you are not familiar with the specifics of the particular model?My last experience I took in my Jeep around 4pm for a smog test and was told it could take up to 2 hours to run the test and I was welcome to bring it back in the morning. 2 hours? Really?! They close at 5 and I felt they just did not want to do it. I left Clovis Auto and took it directly to another shop and was in and out in 15 minutes. Just my experiences. I will not be going back.

Im from Taiwan, a student pilot who had recently moved here for training. I bought a car from Craigslist and was lied about the cars Salvage title, smog check was fake, even the license plate was not not registered under this car. Helpless I was and didnt know who I could trust anymore in this place far away from home. But the car needed to pass the smog check in order to be legally running on the street. I googled and found Clovis Auto Shop, the highest rated place in the area so I went straight there and I met an awesome guy named Chris. He listened to my unfortunate experience and had sympathy about my situation. He checked the car and gave me a list of things that needed to be repair or be replaced. It was huge amount of work so I had to leave the car there for a while. But Chris was alway making calls or text messages to keep me updated, he made sure I was getting the best deal on things and even the parts that was too expansive he would look on eBay look for best deal and making phone calls to make sure it was the right one. I mean, I didnt have to worry about anything anymore because he made me feel like he was fixing his own car. In the end, the cars running perfect.I am giving this place a five star because I would not go to anywhere else but here.

I just had my SMOG service done here at Clovis Auto Smog and Repair and wanted to leave a review for others. I usually take my vehicles to the dealership to get this and other routine services done, but I only needed a SMOG this time. After searching around and reading reviews from others (some of which are bogus ones), I decided to give them a chance. I have to say, I made the correct choice. Not only were they professional, courteous, and kind, they also helped me in pointing me in the direction of supporting other businesses for non-service maintenance. The service was fast and thorough, with recommendations for future service, the waiting room was clean and updated, and make sure you go around 10:30 am, because the food truck makes their stop there. With that being said, I would HIGHLY recommend going here for Auto Service.

They were very family friendly, with little ones always a plus. Answered all my questions. They also offered shuttle service.

Be vey Careful with this shop. Took my Truck in for a smog test with a check engine light on. They gave me an estimate of over 700 bucks to fix it. Took it to another shop that did it for 200. The other shop even showed me my air filter that was complete new and clean that Clovis Smog said must be replaced. That was not the case. That is just one example of the lies that I was told. I am glad I know enough about cars to call B.S. Glad I went as to my wife.The service writer is your typical commission driven lying sales rep.**************In response to your below response-That is insulting. You and or your staff are lying. My first time coming to clovis auto shop today and all I can say is That, is professional work! I am very pleased with the staff, they are super friendly and they helped me with my car even though I didnt make an appointment. I thought I would have to wait about an hour or two while they work on my car but it only took them 45 minutes! After everything was done they also send me a message with a link on how my car is doing when they did their inspection, now that is something you dont see anywhere. The pricing is waaay cheaper than other auto shops and the quality is top quality too! Really happy with their work and will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to check on their car!

They said they could work on VWs. They did a fine job the first time I brought in my 04 beetle. This time however, they cleared the keys from the computer. Now I have have to have towed again. This time VW to program keys and finish the repairs.Good shop just not taking my beetle there amy more.

I had dropped in one day about a month ago for a smog check. It was the first place I found while driving south on Clovis Ave from Herndon Ave.I was immediately made to feel like I had found a home for my automotive needs! I have never been to a shop before where I walked in and was immediately greeted with warm smiles. Usually, you walk into a front office and wait until someone FINALLY notices you, and tells you that they will be with you in a few minutes, but not here!They were fast, friendly, and professional.My vehicle, (which I bought used, with almost 100,000 miles on it), was overheating, and has many issues due to a lack of maintenance by the previous owner. So, after, the necessary repairs to the cooling system, (which was a lot of stuff, and finished in less than a day), Jim helped me to lay out a step-by-step plan to get the other maintenance items taken care of in little chunks, which is a Godsend for me as a single dad and full time college student with a very tight budget!I want to thank all of the folks there for being so wonderful!

I dealt with Rob and he was very nice and helpful, He ordered the battery and had in next day. I called and he had me come right in. Wow very expensive. I went there because I had a check engine light come on. diagnostic cost about $150. Omg. takes forever to get parts for vehicles. I have not picked up my car and paid my total bill, I will update this review in a day or so but I dont think it will improve.
