Bill just did a complete setup on my 2003 Strat. The guitar sounds and feels great and for a reasonable cost. I did some research on Strat setup experts and decided on Bill based on his lifetime of experience. Didnt disappoint.

Bill and Carol are both awesome people. I’ve been playing acoustic for a few months and didn’t really have any knowledge of electric guitars. Bill sat down with me for a half hour+ and explained to me the guitar and amp controls, and even shredded it a bit so I could hear the sound. Very grateful for the help and amazing service. Also my new guitar is perfect. Will definitely go back in the future.

Amazing store, small in size but a large collection of beautiful instruments. Many high quality instruments from lesser known brands and great prices. Friendly and helpful staff offer great customer service and instrument repairs. Would definitely recommend for a seasoned player but maybe not so much for beginners. Would definitely recommend and will definitely shop there again.

Bill is a terrific person and a great guitar technician. He helped me finish a Telecaster I had built from a kit and could not get to sound right. Fast service and a reasonable price. I would not go anywhere else for guitar work in Colorado Springs.

Great service center and the customer service is unbeatable

Very happy with the help i got from Carol and Bill in selecting an electric guitar when i wasnt really sure what I was looking for. The set-up was fantastic and made my value priced guitar feel like a much more expensive model. Most of the other shops dont do any set up at all.

My visually impaired friend works on his own guitars most of the time. If something goes wrong that he cant fix. Music Central always has his back. Their new instruments are great. I had a problem with my acoustic guitar. The owner said to go to the person who sold it to me and didn’t even see what the problem was.

I wish I would have came here 10 years ago, it would have saved me sooo much time and money. I brought Bill (the owner) my guitar because I wasnt satisfied with the way it was sounded and felt. Within a hour and a half he hands it back to me and it sounds better than it ever has! He went the extra mile and adjusted my pickups, my bridge, and etc. If you want a small town family operated feel, you got it right here. I will forever be loyal to Bill and his wife, they actually care and any questions you have will be answered. The prices are great, but the knowledge... Thats priceless.

If I could rate it a zero, I could. The minute when I walked in, the man sitting at the cashier didn’t even bother to look and was very rude about a recommendation and made some excuse that I could tell wasn’t very honest. I’d rather take my business elsewhere.

Update: 2.24.18 Since our guitar purchase, we have acquired two ukeleles. As always, Carol and Bill went above and beyond, ordering, preparing and educating us. They were as excited as we were to receive them. We feel like we are among family interacting with them (email, phone, personally.) Our family store!We went to Music Central today looking for a 3/4 size guitar. We spent two hours, much of it conversing with Carol about various guitar styles. We purchased a C-size (not a 3/4) acoustic-electric guitar which Bill will have thoroughly set-up for us Tuesday. Music Central is our hometown music shop. Bill and Carol are a genuine, personable couple who happen to own a cool, old-school music store. To say we highly recommended them is an understatement! See for yourself. Jeff & Karen

I had two acoustic guitars needing fretwork, one a 45-year old Guild. I had never been in the store before but am happy to say I have been now. Bill did excellent work on both guitars and the charges were more than reasonable. And Bill and Carol are wonderful people. They are an hour away from where I live but will still be my first stop for any music needs.

I went here to get the action lowered on my guitar. The owners, Bill and Carol, were very kind and helpful to me. In addition to getting the action lowered, Bill suggested that I replace my frets because they were worn down. Although this costed a bit extra, I could tell he was suggesting this because he cared about my guitar and me getting the most out of it - his intentions were not to get extra money from me. A few hours after my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Bill saying that my guitar was done and ready to be picked up. WOW! This was super fast! I came in two days later to pick it up, and my guitar was gleaming, polished, and looked like new. It was a lot more comfortable to play too! On top of that, Bill gave me a discount on the final price of the repair. I am still amazed at the level of kindness, professionalism, and competency that these owners have. This was my first time getting a guitar repair ever, and my expectations were exceeded. I highly recommend Music Central for your stringed instrument repair and shopping needs. My favorite music store. Bill and Carroll ate the best. Extremely nice and friendly people. I wont let anybody but Bill touch my guitars except Bill. He always takes care of me and my guitars. I ordered a Ibanez jazz model one time. When it came in, I was so unhappy with it I asked him to do what he could with it and put it on consignment. He worked on it and had me come check it out. It felt like a different guitar. It is one of my favorite guitars now. I promise you will never find anyone that can do what he does. He is the guitar master. I LOVE this place!The owners are great, and their guitar set up work is stellar. I take all my guitars there. They have a great selection of used amps and guitars, as well as new stuff. No matter what type of guitar I pick up to play in the store (high end or entry level) they all feel great and play wonderfully.The icing on the cake is the great prices they have on everything!

Ive been to this place a handful of times over the past couple of years. First off, I dont know the guyss name, but he trash talks every product that he does not sell. Last week I bought a pickguard for my J bass because the one I bought elsewhere didnt fit. He told me at the time if it doesnt fit, let me know. Well, I went in today to let him know and he told me my bass was the reason it didnt fit. Told me to use a dremel tool to make it fit. Ive been in his store browsing a few time and his general attitude towards customers who dont spend ridiculous amounts of money there is subpar, to say the least. I guess this is what I get from a mom and pop shop. On a positive note, his wife is really nice and does what she can to help customers with their needs.

Top quality guitar set-up. We brought an old 60s Gibson acoustic in to the shop to be set-up; I loved the sound, but it was almost impossible to play. I was so happy with the work the guys did on it; it plays like butter now. Great service--- the guys are friendly, knowledgable and extremely good at their craft.

Big little music store! I walked in to inquire about a guitar repair and walked out a friend and faithful patron. The proprietor took my guitar to work up an estimate. Finding that the repair was minor and knowing that I needed the instrument back ASAP, he performed the repair right then, as we talked and charged me just a nominal fee for the adjustment.I have found the alternative to the online mega-store. Though the store front is modest, this shop is well stocked with excellent gear for all levels of musical skill and/or aspiration.I would highly recommend MUSIC CENTRAL as a first choice for stringed instrument repair and I am planning to check there first for my next gear purchase.

Ive known Bill St. John for over 20 years. He has always given me sound advice with regard to playing harps. I remember the first time I jammed with him at The Gardens. He said, Mike, can you take some constructive criticism? I said, of course. He said, You may want to consider taking up the kazoo! LOL! Just kiddin! I started buying harps, mics, amps, cables, etc., from Music Central soon after he went into business. He has always treated me fairly, never pressured me into buying something I didnt need or like. He listens to what you tell him and sets you up with what will work best for you. He and Carol are always friendly and will take as much time as you need to feel assured that what you buy is what you need. Bill is THE BEST guitar technician in town. He set up one of my strats including a pickup swap and tuner replacement. The strat has played so much better ever since. This is my go to music shop - its locally owned by people who genuinely do it for the love of music.

Female that works there follows me around like Im going to steal something everytime Im in there. The owner, Bill, has given me false information about instruments on two seperate occasions. I really dont understand all the good reviews? Iv been in here 3 times and never had a good experience.

Great place! Bill worked on my Stratocaster and got it dialed in perfectly. New bone nut, adjusted PU height, re-calibrated the tremolo system for heavier gauged strings, intonation and action, and also replaced a sticky pot. I think he even did more I can’t remember-The action was a bit low for my taste after getting home and plugging in, so I brought it by a few days later, and he dialed it up on the spot free of charge, said to come back again until we get it right. Good stuff.This is the place for me & my Strat !

I took my right handed gibson sg classic in to be set up left handed and to have a bone nut installed. The set up is fine but the nut he used is too thin for a gibson. It is not well cut and it appears to be covered in glue. There is a huge gap between the fretboard and the nut. I didnt look closely enough at it when I picked it up. Foolishly, I stood there and talked to him for 15 minutes instead of trying out the guitar. Avoid this guy!
