My Taylor 314 CE guitar needed some work. Nathan adjusted the action and did some other repairs. I have had this guitar since 2005 and wanted to use it again. I was jamming with other guitars and missing my Taylor that I call Sis. Sis is back now in wonderful condition, and we are together again...strumming and singing. If Nathan wants to add details about his repairs to this review that would be great!
As a long time professional guitarist, I decided to take my badly abused and neglected Gibson Dove (1968) to Nathan Fisher on the recommendation of Tejon Street Guitars. Nathan and I discussed my guitar’s issues and what could be done to get it back to playability and a suitably pleasing appearance. Nathan took the time to do the job right and was even able to procure an original “Dove” pickguard from Gibson. The results turned out great. How wonderful it is to own an old guitar with a familiar heritage, that once again plays and feels as it did when it was new.
Nathan setup up my Taylor T5 and did a very nice, detailed job. It is even easier and more comfortable to play than before. He also did extensive work on my electric Schecter right down to removing and reworking the nut and addressed several misaligned frets. It plays just fine now. Amazing prices and his service did not stop there. Im an intermediate musician and still learning the ropes for even simple care of my instruments. Nathan spent a significant amount of time recommending improvements for care and maintenance. He even researched and suggested strings particular to each instrument...excellent work, care and service!!! Ill definitely be back for excellent, detailed work I can trust!!!
In 2019 Nathan did a fantastic job with my Tacoma Roadking DR8C acoustic guitar that I have had for about 20 yrs. I had always thought my fingers needed strengthening to play the F bar chord, and in the prior year it got more difficult to do. Nathan made a new nut, fixed fret bars, and made other adjustments. The problem with the F chord went away for me and the guitar was simply like a new but very playable instrument in other ways as well.
Nathan does outstanding work! A real craftsman. He repaired my 1961 Guild F-50R acoustic -- and it now sounds like its brand new. Clear as a bell. He is also friendly and easy to work. Need your guitar repaired? Call Nathan.
Amazing price and careful, unbelievable work. I took my old 70s Les Paul in to Nathan--the instrument was in very rough shape. I didnt think it would be able to be played again. He restored it to its former self and improved it in countless ways. If you have a valuable guitar that you need to see worked on by someone you can trust COMPLETELY this is place. Do not look any further.
Nathan is very knowledgable and comes highly recommended. He is installing a new LR Baggs pickup in my Fender acoustic and Baggs highly recommend him.
Nathan did a fabulous job of repairing the neck on my Les Paul Custom.
Nate is the best in town.
Nathan does wonderful work. I have a Gibson J50 that I have owned and played hard for 50 years. The intonation was really off. Nathan repaired the neck and replaced the frets. Plays the best ever. He also setup my Takamine Santa Fe acoustic. Highly recommend Nathan!!
Nathan has worked on over 10 of the guitars in my collection including electric solid body, acoustic and acoustic/electric. Ive been associated with the music business since the early 60s and to date I know of no finer workmanship than what Nathan at Fisher Guitar Works provides. Most recently Nathan did a lacquer finish repair to a nasty looking mar in the top waist area on my Martin HD28. When I picked up my guitar I could not tell where the original flaw in the finish had been. Amazing! Lacquer finish spot repairs on a high dollar acoustic guitar are not easy and almost impossible to hide. The lacquer finish is very thin on these instruments. Nathans repair is perfect.
Nathan is amazing. Went the extra mile to get my neck playing just right my guitar feels great now. He took extra care when my guitar needed a few extra special things that he found during the work.
A number of years ago I installed an under-saddle pickup in an acoustic guitar. The result sounded terrible. Nathan fixed up my install along with replacing the frets and truing up the neck and now it sounds better than a much more expensive instrument. This week Nathan worked on a hybrid acoustic/electric that was fretting offkey (not an intonation problem). The result was a huge improvement in sound and play-ability. Nathan always does top-notch work for reasonable prices. I recommend him highly.
Nathan has worked on my guitars for many years. Hes re-fretted guitars, straightened necks, installed pick ups and worked on a few of my vintage guitars, he always does EXCELLENT work at a great price! Thanks Nathan!
Nathan did an exceptional job setting up my new D-28. When I received it the action was set very high - much too high for how I play. He lowered it significantly without creating any buzz or other complications and did some other work just to make sure it turned out perfect. Turnaround time was quick - just a couple of days and the price was reasonable. On top of that hes a very friendly person and his knowledge relative to guitars/repairs, etc. is very impressive. I will definitely be using his services again.
Nathan did the extra work and took the extra time to assure that my repaired instrument actually plays and sounds better than new. He not only repaired my primary issue, but he has the experience to identify the weak points that are most likely to fail in the future and does the right corrective, preventive work. I highly recommend Nathan for repair work on high quality, high-end acoustic guitars.
Nathan worked wonders on my Epiphone 335, so now hes doing the setup on my favorite Strat. Hes a real artist.
Nate is the best. Setup two Eastman guitars for me, and couldnt have asked for a better job. Choose Nate, you wont regret it.
Nathan has now repaired my old Martin on two occasions. Both were the result of not humidifying it enough in the dry Colorado winters. For the most recent repair, he had to fix 9 cracks on the top, sides, and back.Fortunately Nathan is an absolute wizard with this type of job. The crack repairs are perfect in smoothness and finish, with exceptional matching of the difficult satin finish. He got the wood back in shape through plenty of humidification, touched up a number of spots where Id dinged the guitar up over the years, fixed some fret issues, adjusted the action for my rough playing style, and put on new strings. My Martin JC-16GTE now looks magnificent and plays better than it ever has, even when it was new. Absolutely top notch repair, thank you Nathan! As promised, I will not let this guitar dry out again. : )Because of his expertise, Nathan (Fisher Guitar Works) stays very busy, so you may need to allow some extra time to get the job done. It is worth the wait!
Took an electric guitar to Nathan that needed a lot of setting up. When I told him I actually needed it a day earlier, he had it ready by noon that day. He also fixed my bridge and reattached it to the body of the guitar free of charge. Ive now brought two guitars to Nathan and have been thoroughly satisfied with the job hes done. Would recommend him to anyone in the springs seeking professional guitar repair.
Nathan has not worked on any guitars for me yet but I can certainly speak to his character. He spent over 20 minutes giving me help to fix a problem on my fretless bass knowing he was getting nothing out of the time he was taking to help me. I know who to call for work on my Taylor when the time comes.
My electric arch top had a bit of twist in the neck. I have brought it to a few different shops in Washington, DC, but no one could fix the problem. Nathan was the first to recommend heating the neck and trying to straighten it. A week later, and a reasonable amount of money, the neck looks and plays much better. If you love your guitars, please take them to Fisher Guitar Works!
Nathan clearly exhibits the skills, experience and eye for detail required for precision work as well as the artistry required when working with wood and strings. Add to that easy to talk to, above and beyond expectations and reasonable prices. Just dropped off my second guitar to Nathan and another waiting in the wings after that.
Nathan did an excellent job fixing a deep burn from a soldering iron in my clients guitar. He was able to fill in and color match the vintage binding and paint so well that the repair is 99% not noticeable. I recommend anyone who needs guitar work in southern Colorado to give this shop your business.
I was at the tail end of spending a month working in Colorado Springs and getting ready to head out on tour when the pickup in my Taylor died. Before I settled on plans to ship it to California for repairs, I took it to Nate on a colleagues recommendation. He managed to resurrect it rather quickly and his bench fee was really reasonable. Im hoping to make it through the tour and have a bit of extra time before I take the big step of upgrading and am grateful to Nate. I also really enjoyed our conversation and playing the lovely ukuleles that he built.
Nathan Fisher did a wonderful job repairing and refurbishing my 1974 hagstrom swede. i was incredibly happy with how he worked with me and my price range to collaboratively decide upon the best repairs to make. i would return to him with any and all issues i have with any guitar i own in the future.
Nate Fisher has worked on several guitars for me. From major repairs to set-up work everything he does is first rate. He always goes the extra mile also to make sure everything comes out really well - down to the finest detail. French polishing, neck re-sets, set-ups and everything in between.....I dont hesitate to call Nate because I know whatever the issue Nate will do a first rate job.
Nathan did great work, he obviously has a deep understanding of the instruments that he works on. My guitar hasnt sounded this good since it was brand new.
Nathan did a great job on my custom made guitar that needed quite a bit of detailed repair. He did meticulous work, sent me pictures and explanations of what he was doing, and it sounds better than it ever did new. Im very pleased.
Nathan does great work! He is a highly skilled and very knowledgeable Luthier. I bought a Gibson J-45 off Reverb that was listed as ’Mint’ and ‘Barely Played’. I was sickened to find it was unplayable above the 4th fret. I said then, I would never by a guitar on-line sight unseen no matter how it was listed.Nate took care of it. He explained the problem was primarily a lack of humidity and showed me what works best in Colorado.Since I was coming in from out of town, we worked out a time to drop it off at his in-home shop, and while my wife and I went to lunch and did some shopping Fisher worked his magic. Fret work, saddle setup, neck adjustment masterfully performed. He also lowered the action on a Martin I rarely played because for me it was too high and wasn’t fun to play. Both guitars are fantastic now and I couldn’t be happier. I was even on Reverb last night looking for a new toy with new confidence. If I have any issues I know who to call. Thanks Nate!
Had a guitar with a bad neck problem. Nathan was able to fix it perfectly! Very friendly and professional with great rates!
Nathan is a real pro stringed instrument tech. He has performed set-ups on 4 electric guitars, 2 accoustic guitars and 2 electric bass guitars for me and each one was perfect.
Very good with repairs I definitely recommend them
Nathan is a superb guitar technician. Hes also very kind and courteous. Hes the only guy in Colorado Springs Ill let work on my guitars.
Nathen is the best luthier in Colorado Springs! If you need any work done, go to him!
Fantastic set up work done at a reasonable price. Nathans knowledge and expertise on the physical properties of the guitar is unparalleled in my experience.
Ive taken several guitars to Nathan throughout the last few years and have had excellent work done on all of them! I now live out of town and make the hour long drive because I trust him and Im not sure with anyone else. Most recently, I had my Anderson Crowdster in with him and a few weeks after having it setup, the neck got out of wack - (weather - not his fault) but he still fixed it, straightened it and changed my strings same day for me at no cost.I highly recommend Fisher!
I had several issues with the frets on my Strandberg Boden OS8, and Nate was able to address each of them in less than a week. He does quality work for reasonable prices.
Nathan did great with my Martin. He went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. Ill be using him in the future.
Nathan did a fine job on my main player (Takamine EF740sgn). Id highly recommend him.
Nathan Fisher is a skilled and experienced Luthier. He installed a LR Baggs pickup and mic system in my Martin D35 and also installed a pickup in my Takemane acoustic guitar. He went the extra mile to ensure all was done correctly and threw in some additional needed work and parts as part of the deal. The cost was reasonable and all was delivered as promised. You can tell this is his passion and he treated my guitars as if they were is own. Give him a try!
This is my second review regarding Nathans exceptional skills when it comes to working on guitars. Though I have used him several times in between the first review (and was very happy with the results of those in- between visits) this time I gave him a real challenge: a 2005 Rickenbacker 360 12c63 that I bought very very cheap that was basically unplayable (but cosmetically perfect) due to the action, intonation issues, and a somewhat warped neck. Im pretty sure the original owner played it about 4 times and said wow, this is really hard to play but will look great hanging on my wall. Nathan set this guitar up with TI strings, made several adjustments to the neck, bridge, nut and various other sundry things. Bottom line: It is now PERFECT. I picked it up from him a little over two weeks ago and have been playing it almost everyday since. I can play up and down the neck with no issues, action is low and it stays in tune. Thank you Nathan for yet another job well-done! Oh, and the price was right too!
Nathan knows his stuff. Took him two of my tsunami axes and I play 13 gauge and many have trouble setting me up as I bend them lol. Nathan hands me my guitars and they play like 10 gauge. Intonation and actions right on spot. No complaints thanks brother
I have known Nate Fisher for over 15 years and he has worked onevery acoustic and electric guitar I have ever owned. Two of his best repairs were on a high end Fender acoustic in whichthe ebony fret board developed a very bad hump around the 12thfret. Nate had to shave the fret board and refret the instrument.Today this guitar is my go-to acoustic. On the electric side I have an 89 Fender Clapton strat. The frets wereworn down to wood. Nate refreted the guitar and replaced the bridgesaddles.. To my surprise this guitar now sustains almost as well asmy Les Paul. I have total faith in Nates abilities.Do yourself a favor if you need a guitar repaired, Nate will work withyou to get the job done right.Gene Schneider
