This is a great little shop. The owner is cool and they carry some of my favorite brands of guitars.

It’s such a relief there are still wonderful shops like this we can go to. The owner is extremely pleasant and professional. He’s a seasoned expert and clearly has a passion for his business. As long as there are pure shops like this one still around, I can be spared the cookie cutter, over commercial let down of walking into a “Big Box Store”. Thank you Moondog!

I was looking forward to having a local guitar shop that I could go to get guitar work done. I went in to ask some questions about services and rates. As I stood there being ignored, the owner hit on a woman by telling her that he was sort of a big deal because he knows local Colorado Springs musicians like Joe Johnson and Grant Sabin. It was clear that the woman had no interest in being hit on and the whole interaction was awkward. After a while I just walked out, the owner never even acknowledged that he had a potential repeat customer. I brought my business to Music Central and you should too.

I have bought and sold here, Mike is a solid dude. Would highly recommend this shop to my friends.

Excellent service and a great price

I was sent here while on the hunt for a violin and was very excited to see everything from the window. It says its supposed to open at 11 but its 1120, windy, cold, and there is no sign of them opening. Unfortunately due to time constraints I will need to take my business to Guitar Center.

This place is the BEST music store in Colorado Springs that I have found, and I am pretty confident that Ive exhausted them all. I went in looking for a banjo for my husband, and the owner was so nice and helpful. I would say that this is one of the few places in town that has both a good selection of high-end string instruments for the pro AND affordable ones for a beginner. He was also honest with me about the quality I could expect at a certain price point but was not at all pushy. He ordered an additional banjo for me to look at, letting me know that he wanted to have it in stock anyway. I will definitely be returning here for any future work on our banjo or uke, and I may even sign us up for some lessons.

My Telecaster had been running without the neck pickup for months after I got a little too intense on stage one night. I considered fixing it myself, but my knowledge of these things is rudimentary at best. Being new to the area, I took it to Moondog after some recommendations and immediately felt confident about my decision from my conversation with Mike. Two days later I got a call indicating hed already finished. Not only was it a far lower price than Id expected, he was also detailed in explaining what hed done (with photos) and even did a little extra just to make sure my Tele was in the best shape possible. This guitar sounds better than ever, thanks again!

Good and decent quality amps and instruments for fair prices! Owner is way cool, and dont forget to pet the super cool dog thats there to greet you upon entrance! Thumbs up!

I love Moondog Music. Mike is the best! The only person he treats unfairly is himself. I cant get him to charge me enough for his service on my guitars and mandolin.

Not that great, I went in there with high expectations and came out disappointed. First, I got blatantly ignored, the person who worked there was talking to another person and didnt acknowledge my existence, He didnt say anything like Ill be with you in one moment NOTHING! I stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes, finally the guy stopped catching up with the other customer and got to me quite UN- enthusiastically.

Mike, the owner, is a great guy who loves music and is very knowledgeable about instruments. I have bought 2 guitars from him (at a very reasonable price) and extremely satisfied. Mike you Rock.
