Great auto repair shop. They listen to your problem closely, and always consult with you before doing any repairs and gives you a proper estimate. Had an ABS light problem. They could have easily ripped me off by telling me to change the wheel bearing which would have cost a small fortune. Rather they identified that its a sensor problem and it was repaired on 100 bucks only. Highly suggested if you are an international student living in Columbia MO.

Decebt prices. Friendly, helpful... And therefor always very busy, but they work with you to get your vehicle in.

This was a trusted shop but after I had my Ford F150 truck came in for oil changed and fix the spark plug on cylinder 1 that I could not screw in deeper position when still runs over 70 miles /hr without engine vibration (no misfire symptom) . 1st day they had oil changed, then was told need the hole fix kit to get my spark plug hole fixed . 3 days later, i was told My truck end up could not start and suggested get time chain replaced or a new engine replaced . Bill was $300 something and My truck died there

I would rate higher bz they did my wifes jeep solid on its brake job, but they jumped from an estimate of 150usd to 640! (ikr-ouch!!). When it comes to mechanics I doubt I would ever come off four or five stars bz I hate the cost to fix something rigged to have insiders cost, something we in America dont share ( carpool). Good shop did discount an hour in complications, cool, but 3 outta 5 is about as high as this profession will get from me. Without a paradigm changing event.

First time here, got truck out of shop today so only 4 stars to see if the repair lasts. After 4 visits to Plaza Tire and $1,900 spent on guarantees to fix the issue, they finally said they couldnt do it. A to Z found the issue and repaired it in 1 day for ¼ the costs!!! The technician Steve called and explained everything keeping me fully informed as to exactly what the issue was and what it took to repair. Kudos Steve! Good service but took much longer than expected. I dropped off my car at 830am and was told it would take at least 30-40 minutes to look at my car. Totally fine. But 4 hours passed without any information from them. I called and was told they were nearly ready to look at my car. Another three hours later, I called again, finally they were really ready for my car! Ultimately my car was finished at around 450pm.Workers in the front office were extremely polite but, as you can see, not entirely accurate in their estimates of how much time it might take to fix my car (the fix itself took less than 30 minutes total).I will add that there were employees in the front office not wearing masks. But I will probably take my car back here! The service was great, overall.

Had been a loyal customer for over a decade, making many referrals to coworkers and friends, but for the past year+ the quality of work and customer service has gone completely downhill, and after this most recent experience we wont be doing any more business with A-Z and will be certain to warn others as well.

My daughter was traveling cross country to San Diego last week with her friend and her dog, when her air conditioner in her Honda quit working. She called A-Z and asked if they could take a look at it right away. They told her to bring it in, and when she got there they immediately got to work on it. They found the problem, and they were able to fix it, and get her back on the road.Under the circumstances, they could have taken advantage of a young female far from home, and charged her a ridiculous amount, but that isnt what happened. They were quick to find the problem, fixed it, and only charged her a little over $100.I just wanted to say thank you to A-Z for being exceedingly honest, and for your quick work and great pricing. I really appreciate it, and if I lived in Columbia Missouri, A-Z would be my first choice for auto repair. Its nice to know that there are auto repair places that are honest and go out of their way to help people!

Ive been taking my cars to A-Z since 2010. My cars are always well taken care of quickly and for a reasonable price. The owner and mechanics are HONEST and I dont ever feel taken advantage of like I have felt at other auto shops. If I request a service and the mechanic feels that it isnt necessary, they will let me know. Always willing to discuss potential repair needs with me thoroughly, making sure that I am aware of cost options/repair time before work begins. I havent had a single letdown with A-Z yet. I hope to return for many years to come.

HONEST mechanics! Reasonable labor and turnaround. An ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS the first time around. Reasonable parts fees. If they can get a used, refurbished part to save you money, they will make you aware of that and let you choose. I have been using a to z for multiple vehicles since 2005. Never had a bad experience. Never felt like I got ripped off. They have always communicated well with me as a customer, what repair(s) are APPROPRIATE, and a spot on estimate.I have and will continue to recommend them to everyone.Judging by Phils alley and street more full of customers than ever, others have had good experiences also.

Wonderful service! I had to bring my car in a few times to narrow down what was causing a leak. It turned out the part they put in just wasn’t meshing with my car. They put in a NEW part and didn’t charge me anything. I really appreciated that. They also brought out the part that was leaking and showed me exactly what was happening before they replaced it. This is one of few shops I will let touch my vehicles. They are excellent mechanics, and do good work. Sometimes they will offer a cheaper option, but only if it will be equal in performance and quality. They are also passionate about making sure you DONT get a raw deal. I highly recommend them for any automotive issue, from prepurchase inspection to replacing major components, like my engine. Honest, great work, trustworthy.

I feel like 5 stars is not enough for the service that I was provided by Chris. My daughter is 3 hours away going to college and her car broke down, he gave me a very fair estimate and was very honest the entire time her vehicle was at the shop. I was provided all of the details and steps to fix her vehicle that made me feel comfortable in a helpless situation. I highly recommend this shop and I will definitely be using again if any other issues occur..... which hopefully they dont :)

My Buick wouldnt start one morning called them. The guy recommend a good tow company had them tow the car to their shop. Very satisfied with the service. Recommended the best way to fix my problem but also offered budget friendly solution. I ended up having some major problems however they fixed everything. My car is running great. I highly recommend this shop.

They were quick and very reasonably priced

I got the oil in my Scion changed here. I was in and out quickly, and they seemed to do a good job. The oil itself was rather pricey though. They charged $31.46 for 4.5 quarts of 0W-20 oil. Walmart charges under $22.80 for 5 quarts of Mobile One brand, 0W-20. With the price of a new filter & labor, the oil change total was $46.20.

Not good. Friendly enough But then it fix my truck. They replace the crank sensor said the problem was fixed. They took it out for a test drive. But it when I drove away three blocks later, I had the same problem. So I ended up driving it home. Which was 8 hours away in another state. My mechanic found a bad Crank sensor, the sensor that they said they replaced which my mechanic said it was a new crank sensor but a bad one. So they didnt test drive it And left me out High and dry.

Scheduled an appointment to get a dual exhaust put on and it only took a couple hours just like they said. The service was great and they set me up with a great sounding exhaust that I am beyond happy with! I also cant believe how inexpensive the total cost was. Will definitely be going back there for future car needs.

I had my rear wheel bearing replaced here today, and could not be happier with my experience.I was really happy to find that the A to Z suggested the exact same procedure as Id found to be the best option by asking online, and that they did not try and sell me any additional services I didnt need.The staff were super helpful, the price was very reasonable, about 25% lower than what Id been lead to expect from asking elsewhere in town and online, and the work itself looks great. The location is excellent, since its by downtown I could bring the car in and walk to work, and pick it up after lunch.As an aside, Im not surprised - any auto shop that has the big name taxi companies lined up outside as A to Z does is bound to be a good choice.

I had an appointment to get an inspection at this place at 2 p.m., by 2:30 I began asking what time they could see my car because I had told them when I made the appointment I had another appointment at 3:15 that day. I was told any minute and then another customer without an appointment walked in and had their car inspected before mine. The staff here is a bunch of patronizing, arrogant, leering men who dont enjoy good customer service. they seem to enjoy torturing you when they see they have an opportunity to do so. I would NEVER let them repair or look at one of my vehicles ever again, and I would nearly pay others to avoid their terrible service, as well!

A to Z is fair in its prices and they get the job done quickly. They never try to up sell or repair what truly does not need to be repaired. Phil is awesome at what he does with his team. Go A to Z. You have had my business for years and will continue to have it. :)

A fantastic Mom and Pop auto shop that you can trust. They will tell you what needs to be fixed now vs what can wait. Not a lot of places will do that here in Columbia. Friendly and knowledgeable employees and heck its walking distance from Longboat Brewing Company! Great for waiting while they work in your car.

I brought in my car to have an electrical issue diagnosed. The mechanic claimed to have tested all fuses and found them to be working, and insisted the problem was some mysterious aftermarket radio wiring. He wanted to charge a huge hourly fee to investigate. I declined. They did not charge for the examination to that point, which was nice. However:After some research that indicated fuses were the likely problem (and on how to do so), I checked the fuses myself. TWO were burned out, which not only showed up on continuity tests, but was obvious to the naked eye once they were removed. Either they badly screwed up testing them, lied about testing them all, or lied about the results. Also, the mysterious aftermarket wiring was factory stock, just taped more tightly together. Replacement fuses cost a few dollars, far less than the massive hourly rate requested, and completely fixed the problem.I did go here once prior, and received reasonable service, but this experience has led me to wonder if the repairs/advice I received were actually as reliable as they seemed. Im not exactly car savvy, and I would be skeptical of any place hiring mechanics who do worse at their jobs than I do.

Basic mechanic shop, priced very fairly, if your looking for a diagnosis itll come cheaply. In witch comes good for getting. A warrenty approved. Enjoyed my stay. Place is a bit small and a waysout of public view. But good experience!

Had some issues one time where Im not sure they fixed what was actually wrong. But overall, Ive had really positive experiences. One of the few places you can bring in your own parts although they charge a little more for labor which is understandable. I think overall they are honest however & they dont make up a bunch of things additionally wrong with your vehicle. Ive had so many places try to say well you need this and this and we recommend this be replaced right now.Ill always come back here as long as Phil runs it and they are around. Id say if youve never tried them, you owe it to yourself to at least give them a try

A part is mysteriously missing from my car. Im not a mechanic but Im far from stupid.

They do a great job quickly and honestly, and their prices are very fair. The only thing I dont like is that they have no Saturday hours, which sometimes drives me to use other shops because I dont have time during the week. Even then, I always wish I could have gone to A to Z, though.

Weve used this shop three times now for our older Pontiac when it has broken down. Every time they have been very forthcoming with what is wrong, quick with the repairs, and extremely fair on pricing compared to the other shops in Columbia. I would definitely recommend them.

Ive been there 4 times now, and its been reasonably priced and quick each time. Technician called me and went through the steps that he was gonna take to diagnose a phantom problem. And I let him do his thing and i get my truck back and he found and fixed it for sure. I wouldnt go anywhere else at this point.

TERRIBLE PLACE . Take your car here if you don’t like it anymore. Simple thing was do an oil change. These people break the pressure gauge on my tires and won’t replace it . Telling me my windshield wiper was bad I literally replaced it a week ago. And they were rude about it. Worst customer service experience of my life. Telling me to drive my car with a flat tire when a brought a full car in.

I explained my problem very clearly over the phone and explicitly asked if they would be able to rebuild a carburetor. I was assured that they would be able to do the job, however, after dropping off the vehicle and going to work I received a call saying that they would not do the job for lack of experience. I acknowledged that I didnt want an amateur to work on my vehicle so I asked them to check into why my radio wasnt working. When I picked it up they charged me an hours worth of labor and sent me on my way. It wasnt until later that I realized that they had plugged my radio into a non-constant power source and so I lost my presets every time I shut off the engine. When I called them back to confront them about it the owner acknowledged that he was aware of the issue when he accepted my money and sent me on my way. He offered to have me come back to have them fix it but frankly Im done wasting my time with these amateurs and crooks. I wouldnt recommend these guys to anyone.
