Had received some bulk MtG cards that were ordered online from them. The cards came all damaged and unprotected in priority flat rate envelope. Nearly EVERY card was damaged due to absolutely NO protection between the cards and the envelope. I would highly recommend never ordering anything online from them.
Been here many times. Favorite card store place. They removed one of their workers recently for reasons unsure. The workers are cool. Use to have a commander league. Now it has slowed way down. No one here plays competitive commander anymore.
Ive fully given up on shopping there. Garbage selection for warhammer and dnd, no special covers half the time (we order ours from Missouri because theyre so inconsistent), the regulars always seem super rude and buddy buddy and the staff rarely seems to care if someone walks in, store is practically empty and never seems to get any significant new inventory, same selection of tired old games theyve always got.
Friendly. Needs new stock, prices on Warhammer stuff too high. Seems like it caters more to Magic players. Tabletops to play in back. If I lived in this area, I would hang out. Kind of a family atmosphere.
Great store. Great staff. Great selection. Loved this place and highly recommend it.
I just buy guns from the great people of Riverton pawn next door. Check them out!
I enjoy the atmosphere and products, the only thing that would make the experience even better would be if the card stock was more up to date and plentiful.
This place kick A$$ & has all the Magic cards any-1 needs. They are good people there!!
I think it was a good experience and I have fun there. But one thing threw me off I looked at the web, and saw a card I had for 150 to 200. And they said they would give me 5 cents for it. Also the packs are a little bit pricy.
Great place to play. They always do fun things on draft nights, can’t wait until we can start doing those regularly again. Worth a visit if you’re ever in Conway.
The staff is very friendly and they have interesting things and games.
No greeting when you walk in and really you cant even tell whos staff alot of the time because everyones kind of just sitting around playing or on their phones. Its definitely got that clubhouse vibe, it kind of feels like youve walked into a private party that just happens to have doors open to the public. Its always been like this though, even when this particular location was Mizewells it had the same problem and so did the Bat Cave at its original location. Things like greeting your customers and engaging them goes along way with making newbies feel comfortable. All that being said their prices are pretty fair but could use a bit more Warhammer in my opinion 😉
Store has a great selection of comics, magic, and Pokemon. Staff are super nice!
Great game store and comic. Focus seems to be on Magic and board games. It does have a good adjectives of citadel paints.
Amazing!..has a little bit of everything and frequently buys out other stores inventories so has fresh inventory quite regularly
Absolutely fantastic, every time I come in the staff always makes me feel welcome, and take care of my needs. Plus, a great selection of cards and other accessories for gaming.
Favorite local place to get comics, and Magic the gathering cards and accessories.
Good healthy dollar comic bins lots of newer back issues
I love it there. Friendly, welcoming, and an all around amazing experience.
Place is dirty, unorganized, staff more interested in talking to friends and theyre never open when their store hours say they should be open. The place is a train wreck and I dont understand how theyre still open. Id rather drive to Little Rock rather than step foot inside this store again.
Great place to trade cards and play games!
As a gaming and collectible store they have a great variety of items on hand, including vintage TCG and tabletop.Sizable play area, refreshments for purchase, and the location is easily accessible as well as conveniently close to actual dining establishments. And of course how friendly the staff seemed to be.If you lack a local shop, or its a smaller establishment, or you just want a change of scenery... CHECK THEM OUT. Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Its an amazing placebwith so much inventory to choose from and great prices with a sweet staff!!!
Good place for kids and adults to meet and enjoy a game of MAGIC
Great place to hang out and play games
Recently got back in to comics and was looking to support a local business and while found what I was looking for and the staff was very friendly, upon entering the store there is a clearly visible sign that says you must be wearing a mask to enter the store when I went in no one, staff or customer was wearing a mask so due to this fact I will be taking my business online. Very disappointed in this, youve lost a very loyal customer.
One of my favorite places to go to get comics or play dnd or other board games, everyone is super friendly and I love everything about the place
My daughter loves this place
They dont seem to have very much right now. What they do have is too expensive.
Good selection of gaming supplies, also found a couple good issues of HeavyMetal & Vampirella.
My nephews love The BatCave!!! Great place to find gaming fun.
If you are a gamer, you will be in heaven.
Really neat store and a cute store dog!
I just love the batcave and what they have to offer
Terrible experience. I called hoping that they could send my card off to get graded for me. They told me they could over the phone, and when I showed up they said they do not provide that service. I felt gaslighted.
Good place to gather and play games. I love that they have snacks and drinks, because nyou can spend a lot of time here playing games. Their bathrooms could be more updated and clean, but I bet thats on the staff to personally do, so I cant complain too much.
Very friendly staff. My sons has gotten into Pokemon cards which I know nothing about and they have helped in helping him understand how to play. Sundays at 2pm they have Pokemon play scheduled and they have a lady that is very good with the kids and helps teach them.
Friendly knowlegable staff. Decent inventory. Plenty of space to game.
The best card and comic shop Ive ever been to. The owner is amazing and is pretty knowledgeable about everything he sells or buys.
I found the Batcave when I was 11(I think) and, as it was within walking distance of my home, I spent quite abit of time there watching cartoons and playing magic over the course of 6 years. They have a wide variety of games and collectors items and host extremely fun events for a variety of games. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and have created a wonderful community.
Great place. Second visit and feels very friendly. Will be going back.
Good place to nerd out on board games. They have a small selection of comics, but some neat collectables.
Some of the staff -though friendly- are a bit helpless/unhelpful and forgetful. They can do their normal jobs well enough, but if they encounter any question or problem they are not used to, they sort of freeze and cant help you. The store is big, can fit a lot of players, and has lots of parking at least. It is a great place to meet and play Magic: the gathering or D&D
Originally a negative review, the manager and staff handled everything.
Very cool experience, very helpful staff.
Even though game cards are not my thing the Batavia seems to be one of the better spots to pick up any game card material. The owner seems very very knowledgeable on all things game card related. I frequently visit to look through the comic back issues, which are half price on Mondays and always seem to find something to purchase. Very friendly environment and worth a visit.
Great selection of ding and dent games! They also have lots of demo games that you can play while you are there and plenty of open tables. However, they lose a star because its sometimes not very family-friendly, since they dont seem to regulate foul language from customers. Also is usually warm in the summer and cool in the winter.
My 21 year old son enjoyed the vintage comics
This place is very unprofessional. I just left there and the employees were smoking weed in the bathroom and showing it off to everyone in the store. You shouldnt be doing that in a place of business around your customers. I use to have alot of love and respect for this place but after this and their customer service I will no longer be coming back and spreading the word.
A great place to play some board and card games, locally owned. The atmosphere is welcoming to New comers and open to all. They offer a little bit of everything from Magic the gathering to warhammer 40k. They also have a huge selection of board games to choose from.
It was awesome visiting and they had quite the variety of stuff to browse.
Ownership has changed but nothing of note has changed for the negative. Im not here often, only in town for tournaments that give qualifications. Staff is generally courteous and the other players have always been friendly enough.
Excellent place for discounted card/board/tabletop games. They even have some you can try out for free on their several open gaming tables! Great selection of Magic cards, miniatures, and tabletop decor and they regularly host events.
Absolutely love this place! They have great prices, friendly staff, and plenty of floor and table space for any size group. The available in-store games are awesome and their discounted board games are an absolute steal.
Best place in Arkansas for your Comics Collectables and TCG needs
Every one is always nice when I come in! I can ask questions and they dont laugh at me like other places Iv gone. Their not over priced and I like the atmosphere.
Customer service is almost nonexistent. Unless you are a regular or they dont have a friend to play with at the time, you can visit and leave without being greeted. I am so sick and tired of standing there and being seen by an employee then they just walk away. I will no longer waste my money here.
Love this store, Best store Ive been to the staff will go out of the way to try and help you get what you are looking for. The prices are some of the best Ive seen, the FNM games are some of the best and the players are some of the best you can play with, in sportsmanship. All new items are in the best condition that you can find, even has some of the hard to find items for fair prices.
What it is : groovy spot to meet up and play D&D, Magic, Pokemon, you name it. Also sells accessories and board games and such. What it isnt: Bruce Waynes secret lair.
Have heard a lot about the Bat Cave from college age kids. Seems to be a fav for the locals. Sodas are very reasonable. Update.. .79 any size fountain drinks are now $1.69 for larger size.
The staff is rude or just ignores you unless youre one of the regulars. Even more so if youre there for anything besides Magic. Magic is basically all they do, 3 or 4 events a week, but absolutely nothing else. Id say go somewhere else but there isnt really another option
This a great place to go to for your TCG and nerding out needs. I visited The BatCave on a Sunday for a Pokemon league event and the person put on the event was very helpful and knowledgeable on all Pokemon TCG stuff. I will definitely be going back there for my Pokemon needs and they also have quite a nice selection on discounted board games.
Big fan. Lots of space, relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable staff. They are more interested in helping you then selling you stuff. The owners and players are an awesome group offering play groups and individual attention.
Absolutely great card shop. They also have a large selection of comics and board games.
Good game selection. Great prices if they have in stock. Lots of game playing happening at various times of the week.
Great staff and so many great players.
Very rude staff.
Awesome Game store with monthly tournaments hosted for the most relevant fighting games!
Ive been going here for years. The people are nice and they have a variety of gaming and comic merch.
The community is pretty good but buying and selling can cost you alot
Great place and atmosphere. Got me and my little brother some Magic cards, and hope to get me a Second Son challenger deck for standard soon.👍
Its a humble hole in the wall comic and gaming store. Its been there for a long time, and it doesnt disappoint, if you want comics this is the place
The best gaming go to place in the state!Staff be polite, knowlegable, if the game exsists, they can find it or tell you if its possible to get it...plus I love the special game nights and release parties! Conway is lucky to have them!
Place kind of has an off putting atmosphere
My go-to place for table top games and accessories.
The staff and overall atmosphere is pretty welcoming. Would recommend them to newcomers of table top gaming.
Great new location with plenty of space and gamers to have fun.
Pretty neat place. Comics, board games, and more
[nearly two years later update]it seems as though the employees who created a rather negative experience last time no longer work here, they changed up the store quite a bit and now seems to be in a much much better state. the current employees are nice, their prices are much more fair inconsideration to going rates elsewhere and the general atmosphere is much much better.[original review below]I next to never leave ratings but I feel the need to share my experience to hopefully cause them to acknowledge how they treat new customers and a couple of their store practicesI come from a rather small town, so when I moved here I was stoked that there was a card store because I had to buy everything online before and I’d prefer to support local if possible.I went in and it felt like most card stores, there was a very heavy focus on Magic, a small focus on Yu-Gi-Oh and an even smaller one on pokémon. Well I am into pokémon so I was a little disappointed but I still looked around to see what I could buythe first thing I noticed was the seemingly lack of awareness of the employees, everything pokémon related was behind glass shelves and I was wanting to look at the conditions on some of the cards, after about 15 mins of standing there, an employee looked at me and I did that kinda awkward wave over because I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do. He looked at me, and then continued to keep doing what he was doing.I was there for about an hour (give or take) before he came over. After looking at the cards I handed them back and he seemed incredibly annoyed. This doesn’t even take into account how overpriced most of their product is. For example a booster box was either $125 or $135 (I don’t exactly remember but it was either of those) and the same box anywhere online was $80. I understand that they are trying to keep positive margins but at that point, you’re just trying to screw over people who don’t know better.I see many people enjoy themselves in here, and maybe my experience was an outlier but I went back 3-4 times over the course of a few months and that experience remained consistent.I want card stores like this to succeed but when they treat new customers like that as well as trying to screw over the uninformed, it just leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.I truly hope my experience is an outlier and I hope they continue to do well but I feel that this needed to be said
Very cool place, good selection of nerd stuff.
This is probably the best comic book store ever. They dont only have comics they have toys and games and lots of magic cards.
Great place. Service was awesome.
Always enjoy going in, good selection of books and cards.
It was alright, just not a lot to offer. Could probably find some great treasures if you looked around the store long enough
My husband wanted to get some magic the gathering cards so we found this place, they have lots of other thing too like comics, rick and morty figures, pokemon cards and toys and much more as well as they host tournaments and have a rewards type of program, 10/10 would recommend to go and get ur nerd on.
Staff were rude and aloof. Not the least bit friendly. Im guessing if you arent part of their regular click or something, then they dont have time for you. My experience was from a year ago, though, so maybe things have changed. But I have other places to go for gaming stuff, so I have no reason to give it another shot. First impressions are everything.
They very much help us on what we needed
Pretty small, Hastings has a better selection of comics and random stuff but the BatCave does host community events so thats cool
Awesome game store. Cant say enough good things.
This place is FANTASTIC. Shame its had to stop selling what it used to, but for a hometown gaming store, its all you need.
Best comic store in Conway and also has some board games and ccgs (Magic, Yugioh, etc)
For context, Im new in town, and spent today getting my fill of the game shops around Conway. My review is based on one visit and is not indicative of a long-term relationship with the store. The Bat Cave is well-stocked on board games, card games (especially singles for MTG), comics, action figures, Rulebooks for tabletop games, miniatures, paints, and dice.Theres a separate room for gaming, and a schedule for various types of games. But it has Meh customer service, in my experience, relative to the other stores around. This is my only complaint. Its definitely got its niche in the gaming community of Conway, but for specifically Dungeons and Dragons Id recommend Treasure Chest Games instead, and for specifically Magic The Gathering or Warhammer products Id recommend Mizewell Games. That said, The Bat Cave is here to fill in the blanks, such as Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh and comic books to name a few. They also boast a PG-rated atmosphere and police it with a swear-jar, so its a safe place for kids to play a game or read a few fresh comics.
I will no longer be going to this shop and will not support their business practices they seem to be interested in lying to their customers to make money off of them. I havent played Magic in a while and still fairly new to the commander format and when I asked a direct question about using hybrid cards from the Llorwyn that can be paid with colors of my commander or not could I still use them. Example: if my commander is Hipatra who is Gr/Blk can I have Kulrath Knight who can be cast with either black or red mana. The response was yes. Now mind you this is a person that is very familiar with the game and helps run tournaments at this shop.Based on this information I purchased cards only to find out he had lied to me to make the sale. Trust is one of the biggest commodities to have in retail when that is gone....
Honestly, the worst comic store I have been to and I have frequented a fair amount of comic stores in the last 25 years. The pros: The gentleman who manages the magic and card section of the store was engaging and polite, they have a nice card section if your into that thing (Im not btw), and they have a fair selection of trade paperbacks. The cons: Very thin stock of new comics, even stuff that came out the previous week was gone, owner is very unhelpful: I asked him about X-men blue and he acted like he didnt know a thing about it! Dude! You own a comic store and you dont know your product or worse your clientales needs? Not good. Owner seemed more interested in buying a box of old comics rather than help customers, and dont even get me started on the young lady working there. She never said hello or can I help you. She had her nose in a dusty box of comics and was too worried about her dog, which should not be in a comic store anyway. ( I love dogs btw) just a really poor experience all around. I will not return.
This is now the Batcave. Super cool people and a super cool place
Great comic shop!
Great place to pick up board games! UPDATE: the last couple times I have went in I have been disappointed in the lack of service andproducts. The workers have been slow to help or check yyour items.
Awesome place for families to interact with each other
