(t) Good service, professional shop, prompt & kind staff.(-) Didnt get the actual style I paid for & braids are extremely too tight!What I requested versus what I paid for!Almost but totally missed the mark!

(t) The shop was decent & has a large selection of braid hair to choose from. Venus was prompt, professional & kind.(-) The styles I received wasnt as exact as the pictures I provided. The braids are extremely too tight. I informed them several times that they were braiding too tight. They apologized stopped for a while but would resume being heavy handed.

Venues does a great job on my hair styles an is a kind an cool lady she does her job well has great positive workers I appreciate all the ladies in the salon.

I go to Venus every time I need my hair braided. It is worth the 30 minute drive. I never come out disappointed.

The Braids Were TIGHT and what makes me angry because she knew that she was braiding to tight . It felt like she was mad at my head and took all her anger out on it how tight the lady did my head. DO NOT recommend.

I went to this shop june 3rd. 1st and last time I will ever go back there. I walked in with beautiful long hair came home head was hurting for 4 days took my hair out yesterday July 1st and now I have a bold spot in my head and the owner said I cut my hair you dont see stubble hairs no its all bald. Then she tell me she cant do anything about it. BE VERY AWARE that YOU MIGHT BE BALD

The owner Eleanor is the nicest person i know. Very accommodating especially with my natural hair. Those who have African native natural hair understand how difficult especially nowadays to find those who are gentle with our kinky hair. Well worry no more and look no further because Eleanor got your back!!! She never does me wrong. Whatever price you have to pay, she and the girls who work there are absolutely worth the visit! I love this place. The only reason I didn’t write a review sooner was to see if they were/are consistent. And also for selfish reasons it is very reasonable and affordable pricing for me compared to other places, it is small which I love, and I didn’t want to mention that and then see prices increased and their business skyrocket. They do great work. I have been getting weaves there for the past year and have been very impressed with their work, speed, and customer service. I don’t like to chit chat like some do when they go to a salon, and I find It very peaceful to be sitting there without having to make any small talk. I can just watch TV and walk out with a completely new look that lasts for months. I highly recommend!

I needed my hair done for my fashion show, and I got the two goddess braids and my braids started unraveling the day of my fashion show and one braid was longer then the other. And for $37 my hair should be done right, not half done.! Also bad service, she tried to tell me my hair was short and thats why my braid was unraveling. my hair is not short. If I pay good money for my hair to be done I expect it to be done right. I wont be wasting my money there anymore.

I have been going to Venus since 2010. Its a wonderful place to get your hair done. The owner is very knowledgeable about real care for your hair. She helped nourish my hair back to real health. I still make the trip back there after moving from Coralville. You will not regret the experience.

The owner and Natalie are very nice people, however the others are very rude. I’ve watched and listened to them talk about certain customers. I do know how to speak French and love pretending that I don’t understand. They are very quick at their job, some do quality work and others do a very poor job. I had micros done and the braids started to slip out the next day and charged me the following month to redo the job. Will not be so quick to go back!

First off I just go here to get hair and theyre rude another thing the owner shes nice. But I dont let nobody do my hair here I went to them couple of years ago. I was very disappointed because I got some Senegalese twists my hair came out the next day. I was not please at all for 2 hundred and 20 dollars. I just come to venus to buy hair and sometimes Ill do my own hair. But when I use to get braids done from here I had big bald spots I was very mad I dont have no edges because I let them did my hair took my edges out but this is my experiences. My hair is growing back how its supposed to I dont let nobody do my hair unless I do it or unless you really know what your doing but the owner shes nice dont get me wrong but some of her workers are rude I dont like how the workers be talking B.S IN French they be talking about people in their languages I know Im not stupid its very disrespectful.

This ia a beauty supply and a salon. I went in asking about a certain braiding style with picture and they also do the style in the salon. Not only did they sell me the wrong hair, they wouldnt even let me exchange it for different hair within a hour of leaving the store. I will not be going to this business again.

I use to love going here. Now everytime its something new now hair is not included. Now my 2 French braids went from 30 dollars to 43 dollars in 3 weeks. The worst part is that these two braids have been coming a loose since yesterday and they are closed today. No worries Im never going back. How is micro braids $180 and hair not Included plus they wont braid all the way down. We need more shops in Iowa.

The owner was OK the rest was very rude didn’t do my hair how I asked took forever getting done with two people on one head did more tlkn dancing and singing with their friends tht came in thn braid. Will not go back!!

Very nice experience, no one seemed snoody and my hair looks great I had micro braids done, the girl took just about 6 hours,very satisfied,its only berm a day will up date if hair turns out not to be as good as it sems
