If you are highly mechanically proficient, the cheapest way to get an electric bike is to source parts from China to retrofit an existing bike. But if you are not comfortable with making all the electrical and mechanical components work together, it is hard to beat the bang for the buck you get at Corvallis Electric Bicycles. Here are the examples I saw:1) The only e-bike under $2300 sold by any other Benton county bike shop is a 2020 Townie Go! 7D for $1614 ($1599 + $15 bike tax). The Townie is a Class 1 e-bike (the most basic) with a 250W rear hub motor, 309 Wh battery, and standard balloon tires. In contrast, Corvallis Electric Bicycles sells a better bike, priced lower than anyone else in the Willamette Valley, the Aventon Pace 350, a Class 2 e-bike (the midrange), with a 350W rear hub motor, 417 Wh battery, and e-rated tires on reinforced wheel rims. Corvallis Electric Bicycles sells this bike for hundreds of dollars less than the Townie, despite the Pace 350s superior feature-set.2) Among mid-drive e-bikes, the Trek Verve +2 has easier braking and more speeds than the IZip Vive 2.0, but the same Bosch Active Line 40Nm motor and Bosch Power Pack 400Wh battery. They should have similar prices, but that isnt the case. Corvallis Electric Bicycles sells the Vive for hundreds of dollars less than the competitors Verve, despite their being quite similar.3) Corvallis Electric Bicycles sells the Aventon Pace 500, an e-bike with 80% greater battery capacity (556 Wh vs 309 Wh), twice the power rating (500W vs 250 W), and better components (including the display, derailleur, tires, throttle, and brakes) than the Townie Go! 7D, all at a lower price than the competitors Townie.Although I didnt buy any of the aforementioned bikes myself, I did buy my first e-bike from Corvallis Electric Bicycles recently because it too blew away the competition with its better features.

They put together my RadCity ST 3 with some added accessories. Special care was taken with the details and the bike looks and rides great. They were fast and professional. Its worth the trip.

I bought a Trek bike from another dealer and had a persistent and frustrating problem with noise from the area where the motor is attached. The other dealer said I needed to have them take the motor off and send it to Bosch. Jeffs assistant diagnosed it as bolts that did not have the proper tension, in about an hour he had them fixed. This ebike focused store is a blessing for Corvallis and the area!

Great place! Only needed a skating helmet but they were very friendly and supportive, and I would definitely come back for other bike-related matters :) They had an excellent supply of Nutcase helmets; previously I had visited 3 other skate/sport/bike stores looking for a skate-type helmet to no avail.

My Grandfather was looking for an electric bicycle for exercise so we found this store that has been around for a year or so in our general, regional neighborhood. I was impressed with the expansive knowledge laid out on their website which I had no trouble navigating and the reviews were encouraging so we completely skipped some other great bicycle shops. We bought 2 Aventon Pace 350 e bikes from Jeff at CEB. Jeff made the decision to purchase these bikes easy. Jeff did a great job with installing accessories on the bikes and runs a quality bike shop. We took the bikes on a 24 mile ride through Kings Valley and had a great ride. These bikes are amazing. With a very light continuous pedal of the bike, and maintaining between 12 to 15 mph, we made it home after the ride with over a half battery of charge still left in reserve. We are older and find that these bikes enable us to get back into riding distance again.

We recently wanted to go on a rails to trails bike ride that would involve a 42 mile round trip pedal. Hesitant to attempt the venture on our conventional bikes, we thought wed explore the possibility of renting E-bikes. Fortunately, Corvallis Electric Bicycles recently opened their business in our NW neighborhood! We met with co-owner, Jeff and were very pleased with the friendly personal attention we received. He took his time listening to our needs and showing us various options until we found the bikes we wanted to rent. They came at a very reasonable fee, equipped with chargers and emergency flat repair kits. They also had available to rent, for a nominal fee, a bicycle rack for our car. Jeff was very accommodating with our schedule and the late closing hours made it very convenient. The ease of the E-bikes made our ride very enjoyable on the trail, allowing us to take in the scenery much more comfortably than our conventional bikes would have. Jeff, the owner, did a fantastic tune-up for our conventional bikes, and provided loaner e-bikes while ours were in his shop. Very friendly and helpful service. The e-bikes were extremely fun to ride - a real game changer for folks whose commutes are a little far by bike, who dont want to arrive to work sweaty, or who have a large hill to get over to and from work.

I just bought an Aventon bike from these guys and love it. I was really impressed by how eager they were for me to test ride a few different models before I settled on this Pace 500 model. Peter could not have been a better salesman or a more competent Bike mechanic. They have a wide variety of e-bikes and if I ever need repairs/help I certainly will be back there in a flash.Corvallis is lucky to have a store like this that specializes in e-bikes and yet they appear to be capable (and friendly) when working on most any bike on the road. Its a first class place.UPDATE: After a few short rides I heard a clicking sound I couldnt locate so I rode in and BAM Peter was on it right now. He and Jeff analyzed, tested and fixed my minor spoke issue in a flash. I thought that was really cool. Those guys care about their customers as well as their products.

I really needed a cargo bike to carry my two grandkids and groceries, as I dont have or want a car. I was hesitant because they are spendy, but finally summoned the nerve and went to see Jeff. I got an Xtracycle with hooptie and it is exactly perfect for my needs. It rides like a dream and the kids love it. I especially like the little features like the palm rests on the handlebars, the heavy duty kickstand that lets me load the kids safely without having to hold up the bike, and the defloppilator spring that lets me hold the bike steady with one hand while closing or opening a gate. I love it and can highly recommend it and Corvallis Electric Bicycles.

When I spotted this place on my way to get groceries, the store wasnt actually open for business yet. The owner, Jeff, was just getting things ready. Id stopped mostly out of curiosity, and I had no intention of buying another bicycle. A few days later when I test rode one up and down the steep hills near the shop, it was a revelation. And a blast. A couple weeks later, I rode away on an ebike, which I absolutely love. Jeff and his colleague answered all my questions did all they he could to make sure I got the model and frame size that I wanted. Ive been bike commuting for a long time, rain or shine, broiling and freezing, but for the last few months Ive had to make multiple round trips between home and work during a day, and it just takes too long on my regular bike, so I end up driving. The ebike has already been the solution to that problem. I make the round trip quickly and easily even on hot days, and the big long hills near my home just seem to flatten out, even on really hot days. And its just so much fun to ride! This town is already bike crazy, and I really hope ebikes catch on.

Six weeks ago I stopped in at the new ebike store to ask about ebikes. Jeff and Chris were very helpful as I had many questions about ebikes. They let me test ride a couple. I rode up and down the hills behind Hoover School. Much to my amazement the hills that I struggled with on my road bike became a piece of cake. Ive wanted my wife to enjoy riding but she doesnt like the hills. I took her in to try one. Now Jeff and Chris are very low key and there is no pressure to buy anything. They answer questions and let you take it from there. Long story short, we now own two ebikes and have enjoyed riding them. My first longer trip was with my son, 38 miles round trip up the Crooked River out of Prineville. My son and I encountered a strong headwind coming back to Prineville that would have been a real grind without the assist from the ebike. The battery held up well using only two of the five bars for the round trip. Im over 70 years old. The ebike is going to allow me to enjoy bike riding for many more years.
