They were straight forward on what I needed and the whole process took about 4 days so I was without a car which is understandable when you need to ship parts. My frustration comes from the miscommunication and lack of updating me. I called to check in, the woman who answered was nice but she said she would quickly call back with my report. 2 hours later no call and I have to phone them again. Then they say theyll have the car latest by Friday and give me a call Thursday evening. No call again, so I tried them Friday morning, they said it would be ready in the afternoon. I come pick it up and out of the 6 repairs I needed, 2 of them werent done even though I approved them and needed the repairs. Anyways, I dont know if Ill recommend with this kind of hassle.
Nice people. Very accommodating. A little spendy.
Customer service and honesty is huge for me. I found that The Car Doctor provided me with the courtesy, professionalism and excellent work I required to maintain a relationship with their business. They exceeded my expectations.
Always found them to be very helpful and affordable.
They were great a little high in price was quoted 1850 for a head job but then went to 2900 because of fuel pump over all good experience.. they got the job done really fast cars been down for 4 years runs fantastic.. thank you
Friendly staff, got the job done at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend The Car Doctor.
Great local business I have had several cars fixed here. One time my radio got locked and I needed a code I belive it was Brian that came to look at it and called the Mercedes dealership and in a few minutes fixed it thanks so much guys
This place really cares for thier customers! I will definitely be taking all my vehicles here from now on! You guys rock! Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
Good service:) and kind people
These people are very professional and courteous. I’ve had a few jobs done here before and my parents always go here. They have done an exceptional job every time.
Lots of parking...was looking for the car dealers web page for your parkinglot...still havent found it...
Have brought my work vehicle in several times. Always great service, done quickly, and done right the first time. A good local business to support.
My Jetta Sportswagen decided to throw every indicator light it could. The Car Doctor was able to get it in, and my throttle body was dirty. They tried cleaning it and it didn’t work, so they replaced it. They kept in great contact with me the entire time and were extremely great about explaining what my money was going too. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their vehicle!
I did not go there. I only got their answering machine. I dont know anything about them.
Before I even went in, they said it would cost $120-250 just to diagnose! Then they charge additional to fix! Called Affordable Automotive Repair - he said it would most likely cost me $90 TOTAL!
I have been taking my car to The Dr. for 10 years now, and I have never been disappointed with any of the work I have had done. They give you a printed statement which has things they noticed that might need attention, but they never pressure you to do them. I will always go to Rick, the Car Doctor . He is a super guy and so is Jim.Thank youBetty Lewis
Rick and the team have taken care of my family’s vehicles for a number of years now and I am happy to give them a 5 star rating for their excellent service! They are honest and transparent in their pricing, thorough in their diagnostics, and go the extra mile to communicate recommendations in a zero-pressure style. Whenever they find something under the hood which needs to be addressed, above the quoted estimate, they always call to confirm before moving forward and I so appreciate this commitment to put the customer first.I highly recommend The Car Doctor to anyone in need of a great mechanic.
Nice Folks, competent Techs, fast friendly service- I am never dissatisfied with their work. Fair Pricing with good customer interaction.
They did a great job
Had a front crankshaft seal and oil pump seal done. They did the job correctly, however, they mark their parts up over 150% of retail, and refuse to install customer parts. After spending nearly six hundred dollars, they couldn’t even make sure my oil level was at the full mark, I picked it up from the shop with the oil level at the bare minimum for safe operation. Not impressed.
First time bringing in my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT. They were quick about fixing the problem and also gave me other options without all the extra sales pressure. Great Professional People! 👍
I have been a customer at The Car Doctor since 2013. Rick, the owner, is a highly trained automotive technician and a darn good businessman. Rick has gone out of his way to take care of my vehicles, even when there was an unusual situation. He is never pushy, but always lets me know if he spots something that he thinks needs attention. He has looked after my daily drivers (sedans and SUVs), my pickups and even my travel trailer. He rebuilt the engine in my motor home. In every instance, I have been 100% satisfied with the work., and I believe the prices are fair and reasonable. I heartily recommend The Car Doctor.
I am very pleased with the service at Car Doctor. They are thorough and honest and the job was completed as promised. Car Doctor is my primary auto repair business.
Very thorough and complete work at reasonable prices.I used to do 90% of my own vehicle maintenance but as life got busy I needed to find a good shop that I could trust with my vehicle and that wouldnt charge an arm and a leg. I went around to a few other shops, local and distant, and none can compare to the Car Doctor. If youre looking for a shop that wont just do patchwork repairs and will treat your vehicle like its one of their own, then youve found it with Rick and his crew at the Car Doctor.
Called and got a next day appointment. Everyone was very friendly. And they did a fantastic job on my pickup. I recommend this place to everyone.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I told them exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, and they still ran and charged me for diagnostics. I kind of understand that but its still BS.Then they said instead of the one issue with transmission, it was two so they doubled that expense on me. They also said the knock i heard was a rack-&-pinion....so i paid for them to fix all of it. Come to find out it was likely only one issue on the car transmission and although Ive since been told by other mechanics that a rack-&-pinion should never go out, the knock returned soon. So i got over-charged for stuff that didnt get fixed properly or didnt even need to be fixed. Also, while they still had my car, I was told I needed a thousand-dollar brake-job for brakes and rotors on all 4 wheels. When i told them lets hold off on that and Ill handle it myself later, their response was to scoff and told me to drive at your own peril....Interesting.I took it to Les Schwab a week later and they said the rotors were JUST FINE and they could resurface my brakes for about $80 & Id get another 4-6months out of them before I truly NEEDED new brakes.Go elsewhere for honest business.
There were things I appreciated and things I did not. After spending $150 at the dealership for a thorough diagnostic and relaying this information to The Car Doctor, they still charged us $300 (the max amount for their diagnostics) for a diagnosis that came to the same conclusions. It was a waste of money. It was honestly my fault for not being more direct with what I needed done, but I did not think they would take advantage of my inexperience. I dealt with Jim mostly and frankly both my husband and I did not like doing business with him. Every request we made seemed like an inconvience to Jim. I let them know how unfamiliar I was in this ahead of time and he still treated me like a seasoned car owner. I do appreciate their time and flexibility with us, but in the end, we felt they were just after money and not what was best for their customers. This was certainly a life lesson on what to do and what not to do. This I can thank them for.
Appointments when I want them almost all the time. Reasonable pricing. Good followup care if and when needed.
A great car shop at a good price. I trust Rick and his crew very much. My son says my place is where motorized machines go to die. The car doctor gets them going again.Thank You
We have been taking both of our cars to The Car Doctor for almost 10 years now. Very happy with the thorough service. They explain the how and why for any repair or service needed. Always friendly. Thanks
I was very satisfied with the service at The Car Doctor. Travis was professional and quick to get us an appointment. We will be back
Was not totally honest about what the estimate charges included if they had not request further information as to why. Once questioned their response was oh, the mechanic recommended this be done but we can take that off. So, if not questioned, there would have been an extra $300+ charge included that was not required.
Great place to get ur car fixed..prompt and courteous
From the beginning to completion of the problem every moment was a pleasure dealing with Rick and his team. His prices were fair someone was always there to answer the phone . And if for any reason they didn’t have the answer they called me back immediately back with the information . I will continue to use them as my mechanics in this area. I recommend them to anybody who is looking for a well done job that was stretched out over a week or two or even a month I needed several things done they did them in a timely matter.
Honest fair priced mechanics. You can tell they truly care for their customers and they take great pride in their work
I’ve used The Car Doctor for various work on my Audi A3, F250 and Expedition. Their work is always done timely, at a reasonable cost and with great care.
I had an issue with my pick up truck and brought it to the Car Doctor. A quick diagnosis determined the issue and an appointment was set up. The issue was repaired and during unexpected issues during the repair everything was handled professionally. Problem solved and the crew did a great job.Rich handled the extended warranty contact and it was covered.I was very pleased with the service, it is local and we should keep our local businesses going!Overall: very satisfied!
Excellent mechanical work and excellent customer service. An honest garage.
Got me in right away which was nice. It took a little longer then I was told but I was never charged any more money for their time and they talked me through the process which I like. I will go back!
I had a mixed emotion of experience with these guys. They were able to get my truck in extremely quick and were able to diagnose the problem fairly easy. Then comes the fun bad part. It needed a new engine which ok im expecting 3-4k for a rebuilt motor installed. NOPE over 6k for a used motor installed. WTF. Every where else i called to compare prices was between 2500-3500. Seems like these guys suck you in with quick turn around times and cheap diag fees then hit you hard with a repair.
I always am greeted with a smile and treated well. Very friendly
They did 1500 dollars of repair without notify us. Then fail to fix the door handle that was requested
Always gets the job done right. Super staff. Ive known Rick for several years. Jim and his crew are always reliable.
Provided a ride back home after dropping off my truck. Work was completed quickly. After hours pick up was a sinch.
Awesome job. Quality work done faster than quoted. Thanks Rick 👍
I think Rick and his crew are awesome. They are honorable and respectful. I am on a tight budget and he understood focusing on important of issues. I am so glad I found these guys!!!. Thank you
Always does a great job. Is convenient and affordable. Always willing to explain the problem and help out.
The car doctor always does great work and fair prices, also the staff is great to work with, thanks 😊
The Car Doctor is the BEST. Excellent technical and diagnostic skills, but the Doctors integrity is what sets him apart from the others. The Doctor stands behind his work 100%.
My first time at The Car Doctor. I will be returning. Excellent, prompt service.
Excellent service. Quick and affordable. Rick and staff very amicable
Very reliable !
Very professional and customer oriented. Highly recommend the Car Doctor for their great service.
Staff is good!
They understood what i was asking made it easier on me to explain troubles and so far better than whe i took it to them need run few days and see
Went in for an oil change and they did something and my head gasket is blown. It was fine when I went in there. Never ever in a million years going back there. They didnt even tell me I had a blown head gasket.
Quality repair for a great price! Thanks guys you rock :)
Took my Chevy Avalanche there for a random misfire. Spent $160 on diagnostics that still didnt help them figure out what was wrong. They told me my spark plugs were cheap copper ones and I needed platinum and wanted to charge me $250 to change them. I decided to do it myself and when I removed my spark plugs, they were all already platinum. They are either scammers or have mechanics working on vehicles that cant tell the difference between copper and platinum spark plugs. Either way I wouldnt trust them working on my vehicle.
My go-to car place. Fair priced maintenance and repairs. Family owned and run. Wont go anywhere else with my Dodge Ram diesel or diesel Volkswagen Passat.
Very reuptable, easy to work with, followed up 100%. Great experience at Car Doctor with Rick and team.
The Car Doctor is a convenient location and reasonable local repair shop. They are helpful and professional.
Excellent customer service and pricing. The 30k mike service was 1/4th the cost of what the dealership was charging. They also picked my wife up so she could get her car back after they had finished the work. I’ll be taking my cars there again.
My 1998 F-350 pick-up only has 120,000 miles, but recently developed an oil leak. The car Doctor fixed the oil leak, but forgot to tighten the drain plug. I didnt notice any oil leak in the driveway overnight, but my oil pressure dropped to virtually zero on the short drive from Monmouth to Salem (20 miles or so.) When I stopped to see what was wrong ... I found there was not enough oil to wet the dip stick. A call to the good ol boys at the Car Doctor said I should have the car towed to their shop and they would investigate.Three hours later, after sitting on my tailgate and contemplating my words for these sterling people, my tow driver came and loaded my truck for the 20 mile (uber bumpy) ride to the Car Doctor. I decided to play nice and not tell them what I thought of their $1,700 fix.Two days later, I got the call saying they found the loose plug and tightened it, so I could come and get my truck. No apology. No partial refund. They didnt even pay for the friggin tow.So, Ill use my words now. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Latin for let the buyer beware. These guys are pretty bad mechanics, and they lack some basic social skills, and theyre slow. Youve read my story. Ask them if they can refute any part of it ... and ask for the proof. Especially hone in on that tow charge ... ask to see the check stub or credit card receipt copy where they paid for it. Or, ask to see any refund they might have made on the original $1,700 work ... where they forgot to tighten things up. But, theyll probably show you the work order where they charged me for TWO sets of oil ... one for the oil change and one for the refill after the leak, but at least they didnt charge me for the refill of the oil that they replaced when they tightened up the drain plug. Duh!Would I go back? When Hades freezes over on an August afternoon!Would I recommend them? Only to someone I want to severely punish, and I really cant think of anybody I dislike enough to actually make that recommendation to. I could not even recommend them to the jerk manager who fired me in 1985, but he comes closer than anybody else I can think of.So, use your best judgement with these guys. Read their other reviews and check out the Yelp reviews as well, then make you decision with all the available data ... and please feel free to check the veracity of my comments. Its accurate (less the swear words while I sitting on my tailgate.)
Rick and and everyone here is amazing! Highly appreciate this company and their hard work.
Have taken my vehicles here for over three years. Ive had a few minor complaints which Rick promissed to address. Overall great service.
