Ive been exploring around the Dallas area hes and this is definitely in the top 2! I went for a standard tournament play and was very impressed with the staff, their professionalism and kindness. I had a great time even though I lost horribly. 1/8 rounds won. But! That didnt ruin my experience, their prize support was generous, their MTG selection was FABULOUS, and the store was clean, pleasant and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Dude working at the counter on the night I went was extremely rude (Was Monday Modern 10/4). Took his mask off multiple times throughout the night, even though masks are required for everyone else. Will never go back and will make sure no one else I know goes.

Extremely knowledgeable staff! Everyone is accepting and willing to help a new player learn. MTG Tuesday night popper format as well at Friday night standard and modern always has a great turnout!

Love the players here and Donovan at the front desk is beyond helpful and really makes the environment great along with owner will. Great legacy and modern spot and pretty darn good selection of cards.

I will forever keep coming back here awesome service awesome prices would rather spend my money at a local shop like this one than buy online. Thank you boardwalk games for the awesome service.

This was a great Magic the Gathering and board game store. They were well-organized, clean and the staff was absolutely amazing. Does a great location with plenty of parking. Overall its just a good store with plenty of room to play against your friends or even have a tournament.

Best card store in DFW, if youre not here youre missing out. :)

Ive only gone to play and buy Magic, but it has been consistently good for both. Good prize rewards, good timings for events, and a pretty decent crowd. After trying some card shops after moving out of state, I find myself missing Boardwalk more.

Awesome place to visit!! I came to Dallas from Houston for my wifes conference and had the whole day to myself. Long story short I spent 4 hours at boardwalk games with a very friendly owner and staff. Before I forget to mention Will the owner let me play his Nintendo switch! As an added bonus there is pizza by the slice next door for $6 with a drink! All in all I felt like I was in heaven,,, the picture I posted proves it!!

Well I happen to be in from outta town and was checking out stores in the area that had MTG cards. This store was one of the best stops As the owner was super cool, and ended up giving me a bunch a basic land for free. This was rite at closing so he could’ve said get lost, but I spend few dollars as well.

The staff was extremely helpful in assisting my friend and me with our Magic trade-ins.

If you’re a Pokémon collector, not player then don’t waste your time because, they’re only interested in players and advanced ones at that, their not friendly to new customers or players. They will not take vintage, and hit you with extremely low ball offers to the point you just laugh. The workers are cool sometimes, other times they look at you as a nuisance, Collectors of any TCG STAY AWAY, your time will be wasted. Pokémon isn’t their thing and it shows from lack of product. I had been shopping at this store on and off for 2 1/2 years and have watch it slowly decline.The owner needs to get his crew together, it’s costing them money. I feel they’re stuck in the old days, if they don’t get with the times they will be closed soon. The store will be losing me as a customer and probably will continue to lose customers, with the piss poor services and poor care of their own shop. @boardwalkgames I shouldn’t have had to write this review. It’s a shame.

Nothing wrong with this place. But the games are very niche. Id say this place is more for enthusiasts than the average gamer.

My Fiance and I regularly attend Boardwalk Games to play Magic the Gathering and enjoy all the different events offered throughout the week. Nice, well-maintained location with something for everyone. In addition to Magic the Gathering, they also have an awesome selection of board games which I like to purchase here as well.

Welcoming, informal atmosphere. Im part of the Sunday Dungeons and Dragons game at this store and theyre always ready to welcome new players.Excellent selection of high quality board games, too!

Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Theyre easy to strike up conversations with and help you out as best as they can.Their store is well kept, organized, and clean. Their restroom is kept very clean as well. They have a very large gaming area which can accommodate lots of players playing different games!I got back into Pokemon TCG after 20 years, and immediately found a friendly and dedicated group who helped ease me back into the game. Im going to be a dedicated regular for as long as Im in the area!

Place needs cleaning. Guy barely acknowledged me but found a game out of stock in other places I was looking.

Great selection of board games.The owner is very easy to talk to, and can answer any questions about boardgames.Theres an magic: the gathering event every weekday if thats your thing.Boardgames mainly Saturday, and its always a lot of fun.Drinks and food you can bring, but they also sell snacks and stuff at reasonable prices.Lots of places nearby for food as well.

Amazing management, kind staff. Ive been going to boardwalk since its opened and the staff has treated me with nothing but hospitality and kindness. I went in there looking for a board game and Will, the owner, was immensely helpful. He knows about every game he has and will take your situation into account before making a recommendation. You will not find better service. They also have MTG, Pokemon, etc tournaments and card game accessories.

This is a somewhat poor choice for the board and card gaming hobby. The selection is very limited, restocks take a long time and there are few, if any, sales ever. Every time Ive gone there Ive gone home empty handed. Overall, its a good space to play games, not so great to buy them.

The owner and employees are very friendly. It reminds me of the old school shops where people helped one another rather than think they were all pros in the making. I miss those days of home brews and just having fun and this brought back all those memories.

Prices are fair and competitive. Store had a decent selection of board games, magic the gathering cards, and a modest amount of RPGs. Owner is friendly and approachable. Gaming area in the back with a wide selection of games to choose from. Limited space for seating so it can get loud and crowded quickly, especially if a tournament is going on.

Great place! Magic FNM is well attended and really fun! Great selection of magic cards and wide range of board games. I love that they have a game night and a huge selection of board games for you to play!

Great customer care. I was teaching some new MTG players standard and Commander. They had a pre-built standard decks they ended up letting us keep. Granted it wasnt a hundred dollar card but mostly penny cards - still a grand gesture in my eye.Ill definitely go back. Just wish that they had boosters >.

I’ve spent plenty of time there. I hold the owner with high disdain as he is rude and doesn’t seem to care about new players or people who come into the shop. Apart from the snarky attitude, shop is fine. I haven’t seen anything but magic however, so if you want magic, sure, but only if you are competitive. Not a good environment for new or casual gamers

Nice little game store with a large space for open gaming most nights of the week. Magic the Gathering tends to dominate but theres a board game library that is free to use with a fairly wide selection.

Called in looking for some Pokémon cards. Donavan not only advised me that they sold them but offered to look for the specific cards for me so I could come in later to buy them without having to dig through cards myself. Haven’t stepped foot in this store, but I can already tell it’s gonna be me new go to spot.

Friendly staff, clean facilities and fair prices. Large selection of Magic cards, collectibles and board games for sale, with the latter also available for in-store play. With seating available to accommodate all of the above alongside table top games such as D&D, I highly recommend this shop.

Great shop! Felt welcome very quickly within the EDH group.MtG card inventory is browsable in a brilliant custom-built eye-level-to-floor display case that runs the length of the play area of the store. Well-priced and highiy desirable singles were available in these cases. Cards were all organized very clearly.We will definitely return to this shop.

I have been calling/driving all morning trying to find the dbstcg. Despite the fact that boardwalk did not have them, the person (Donovan I wanna say) was extremely helpful and informative. He told me where I could go to find them (and he was right) along with some further relevant info about distributors.Impressed that this person didnt just rush me off the phone and was very informed about the product.

Employees are nice. Good card and board game selection. If they dont have a board game you want, they can get it for you.

My wife and I walked into this store the other day. We were never greeted. We were never asked if there was anything they could do. They had a bunch of stock that was out. They had people in the back playing and seemed to be more interested in that than helping new customers. Unfortunate since the place is slow close. Will be taking business elsewhere.

First and foremost. Im not an avid gamer. I do enjoy social fast games. I also have lots of outdoor hobbies and the winter doesnt always let you out. so you play games. went in to get something simple and fun. asked the first clerk. seemed to try and told me the game exploding kittens was unavailable there. I said thank you and was curious what else they had there. second clerk entered the area. first clerk asked if he knew if they had the game. second clerk began trash talking my game selection. not knowing I was still in the building and could in fact hear them. not a very pleasant thing. asked second clerk then for recommendations. he looked like a deer in the head lights.if your a casual gamer stay away. Im sure they dont want us there.

I come here bi-weekly for 5 hours to DM 5e, and the party and I couldnt have a better spot. Boardwalk has ample space, lots of free to play games, and friendly staff. This is a perfect place to try a new game or get back into your old favorite RPG.

Boardwalk games is like a home away from home. They stay open late for weekly events even though they dont have to. Speaking of weekly events, there are so many events to attend throughout the week that I often find myself here more than once a week!Theyre always kind and helpful. and with many magic players among the employees, you can even get tips on deckbuilding or what cards you should be looking for. Speaking of magic, the singles prices are really good here. The organization of the high demand singles is great, too, and it allows you to browse at your leisure in the cabinets.Theres a fairly active Netrunner group as well as an L5R group starting here as well, so even if you arent into magic, theres plenty of other things to do.

Drove two hours to check this place out, hours say Saturday until midnight on Google and the door. However, Im here at 8:55pm and the door is surely locked, and the lights are off. Very disappointed as I was hoping to pickup boxes of double masters.. I was ready to drop $1000 or more in store unfortunately their hours are wrong.
