Just spent $160.00 on books at this store … the cashier decided to cash me out and hand me the 11 books just purchased by pushing them towards me. The books all fell over… I simply asked … “do you have a bag?” The reply was… “we’re almost out…” He then proceeded to put the bag on the table and walked away from me. I guess I must be in the wrong for buying books instead of ordering online to be told … we are almost out. So … maybe save the bags for someone who buys… $200.00 worth of books? And bag them yourself after they fall all over. Guy working there who is bald in the red shirt… be better buddy. No one in that store is responsible for your life choices. How about a little customer service since you are the face of the store?
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Store was clean and well organized. Lots of books of course. They had what I needed!
It has been redone since my last visit. very attractive plenty of christian books and bibles
Great staff and atmosphere. So glad theres still an actual bookstore to go to. Love the starbucks inside.
The staff was very friendly and helpful even though they didnt have a book I was looking for, they were able to tell me where I could purchase it at. I even found a couple other books that I did want while I was there. Prices were great too.
Nice large space. Pleasent and very helpful people.
It was a smaller than most of the ones Ive normally been in but it was quite the employees were helpful
I absolutely love Barnes and Noble, Ive visited this place several times since I was about 5 or 6 and I am now turning 15. I love how they have a great selection of books and other things such as magazines, manga, Legos, games, etc. to choose from. I also like how some, if not all have a Starbucks section, in which you can order a drink or food, and its done within 2-4 minutes. They also have a kids section where there are trains to play with, a stage, and childrens books. All of the staff are kind, helpful, and considerate. Customer service is great for returns or or sorts of things. Overall, if youve never been or havent recently been in Barnes and Noble.. Then please do so, its such a great place to just look at the stuff at first and think about not getting anything to walking out with several bags worth of things.
Has really gone down hill as far as selection goes since I was there two years ago. 3 things I was looking for ( all fairly recent ) were out of stock but could be ordered. Ordered one but the others were less than half the price on.Amazon so I used them instead.
This place is very nice. Great Cafe as well. Definitely 5 stars.
Great store! Well maintained and the staff was very nice!
WIDE variety of books! I even found a couple on quantum physics and string theory! Neat!
Wow! Great customer service from Sarah abt getting some back issues of a magazine. While the answer to my problem wasnt easy to hear(no back issues of any magazine) it was nice talking to someone so friendly and helpful! Thanks Sarah! Great job!
Good store. Nice staff and very helpful
Information help desk was Very helpful When ordering a book for our son to be shippedMy wife loves Starbucks inside them bookstore
I love going to this place! We always come thinking about one book but leave with a lot more than what we had in mind, for myself, my wife and son. The workers as well are very kind and helpful!
The best Cafe in Beavercreek. Come in for a book and a specialty drink crafted just for you. The staff is warm and friendly always eager to help you find what you are looking for. If they dont have it in store they will get ordered and shipped in with no pressure to buy. Come into B&N to relax, read, study, work, play board or card games.
Very pleasant place that seems to have any book you could want, and if they dont, they will order it for you.. it took mine 4 business days to get there, witch is typical.. I suggest this place to anyone who is looking for a book or a movie... BTW very kid friendly.. I definitely recommend this place for those reasons... ❤️ From Ohio USA 🇺🇲
B&N is the best! My home away from home! Browse and explore at your own pace or have a bookseller help you find something new, I love being surrounded by books!
Love Love Love that place. I could spend days and big money there. Lol
I had a very negative experiance with an employee thats made me think Books & Company would probably be a better option going forward. In case youve seen or never seen him. He is a tall, Caucasian male, bald, with glasses. Other than my interactions with this man everone else is usually relatively nice though I think they could do with some training on interactions between team members and their customers.I dont doubt that people steal things or act in abusive ways in the store, but we have to learn to use our observation skills and communication to mitigate damages and shrink versus a situation that can lose a loyal customer disenfranchised by their experiance. In case no one has noticed book selling has a declining but loyal fan base who value their local book stores and usually their libraries as well. We have to assume that every first impression is a lasting one. Once damage has been done, that customer will write a long critique and tell several people they know about their positive experiance at Books & Company at the Greene versus their negative experiance at Barnes and Noble.Kindness costs nothing. Valuing the relationship between a reader and book seller promises their loyalty dispite a book being cheaper on Amazon or Audible. The customer isnt just there for the book, theyre there for the experiance. You thrive when you get it right. If your not thriving, that should tell you something.
We went here to buy books. I looked around, and found a lot, then when we were ready to check out, a representative/cashier came up and asked if we were ready... his manner and body language suggested that we were going to take the merchandise. Not conducive to repeat business. I LOVE books and I would have been a Really good customer, but I will probably take my business elsewhere.
I go in thinking I dont need any books and come out with 4 or 5! Love this store!
Ive shopped here several times over the last few years. This store always has a great collection and variety of YA(teen) novels. From well known, popular authors to other obscure titles a librarian might look for. I mostly only read YA and I was in search for the rest of A Court of Thorns and Roses series in paperback and found them all! So I was thrilled with my visit. I also always look at their sale books for anything I might be interested in. They also have LEGO, everything Harry Potter and a board game collection worth looking at.I looked at their board book collection for the first time (I have a 1 year old) and I will definitely keep it in mind when Im looking for baby gift ideas and more books for my kiddo. This store is always clean and tidy. So always visually appealing and lots of room for customers to peruse while social distancing.
Friendly staff and very helpful. Nice cafe to sit and read while having hot chocolate.
Love the way theyve rearranged!
Service guy Charlie was truly helpful and a pleasure to work with!We are greatful for his time and service rendered.
This used to be a great place for books, now its just so-so. They mainly do remainders these days with a very good supply of new books. But when it comes to book series they dont make any attempt to maintain continuity of a series. Their ordering person just orders a few of a series at a time and not in any order, making it difficult to read in order. Also their turnaround time on special orders is absolutely terrible. If you are lucky, you make your order close to the time they actually do their order.
One of my daughters favorite places.
Staff was amazing! Sad to see it so slow. Will visit again with the kiddos soon
Great selection, excellent customer service!
Great bookstore with some competitive prices!
Great selection. Miss the eager to help attitude I had come to expect.
This one is a little bit of a pain to get to but they have a lovely selection of stationery and notebooks and accessories and the store is pleasantly laid out.
A great bookstore. Very clean. Always enjoy going into a nice bookstore as this. Friendly service. They follow CDC guidelines.mask required.
Love the 80s music that is piped in.....good times
The refresh at this Barnes and Nobles location is a real improvement. It feels very open and bright. Previously, it might have felt claustrophobic and crowded to some customers. Once I acclimated myself to the new layout of the store, I found it easy to navigate. The associate in the information area was very helpful and pleasant. He helped me to locate several books and placed an order for me to have an out-of-stock book delivered to my home.
They always have what Im looking for, and the workers are kind and very helpful. (I just wish the layout would stop changing.)
Bought some books. customer service was very nice and helpful!! definitley recommend always and forever!!
They have any and every book I could possibly want. I cant believe I didnt go sooner, I loved it!
Clean, organized, very helpful staff. Wish there was a location closer!!
What a book store should be... Well stocked, friendly staff, fair pricesThey also have many discount books.
The costumer service staff was very helpful and I found a book that I love.
Lots of book inventory and gifts; plus it hosts a Starbucks cafe.
Love books and there are few real bookstores to be found these days. I treasure having one fairly close to home.
There was a RUDE older man working at the customer service/checkout area last Saturday afternoon (around 3:45PM). Totally non-commited to greeting, nor answering my questions nor responding to me. As I left the cash register after my transaction, he didnt even respond when I said Have a good weekend!!! WTH!!!🤔
Knowledgeable Employees, friendly also.
Was a good experience. The cashier was very friendly which I like.
Great variety of books and gifts and you get a free cookie at the coffee shop. My only wish was that book categories could be clearly marked. The store was crowded and the customer service Representatives were busy. I had a hard time finding the books I wanted. A map of the store would be great 😊.
Found what I was looking for.Associate was helpful.
Now ?? after 4 weeks of being open you choose to require masks?? Not required by the state of Ohio so it’s curious as a retailer struggling to keep the doors open that you make it more difficult to enjoy the shopping experience. Masks protect the wearer - if you choose to wear a mask you are moderately(?) protected - Ohio says I have the right to choose. Even with a mask shoppers can pick up, touch, leaf through books and magazines then return them to the shelf. Are we required to wear gloves? You can’t even begin to control dirty fingers touching every object in the store.Where is the logic in that? The cashier handles the cash from my pocket and the reading materials and then hands me a plastic bag that he touched bare handed by the handle? Logic? Won’t feel sorry for you when you close the doors.
This place was near perfect before the pandemic, unfortunately the reopening sees changes not for the better. Before you could get lost an nicely lined aisles of well organized genres. Now the shelves are rearranged to keep you standing out or inside a half room-like maze formation of aisles set up like some weird flea market store or something. The vacant babies r us across the street appears to have moved in looks-wise by the addition of ‘half rooms’ full of junky toys, dont get me wrong the occasional movie prop stands were cool, its just gone overboard now. The nice benches behind the magazines have been removed leaving no place to relax for a minute while deciding on any zines. There was previously very refreshing and elegant classical music playing through the store which has now been replaced with cheesy pop/rock radio hits. Found myself walking the store instead to the tune of ‘its hip to be square’ 🤦♂️. All these changes are huge bummers to me and I wont find myself visiting as frequently now that many of the nicer attributes have been changed. But god bless Barnes and Noble, I get theyre doing what they can to stay afloat and hope to never see the company go under. Community and culture need great places like this to be able to escape to and reinvigorate themselves with.
I do like this book store a lot. There are childrens books all the way through to adult books. Their store is just a perfect place to go and read/buy books! There are not only JUST books here; there are toys, games, water bottles, cards, and more to buy here! I recommend this place! 📚
I have to ask a management a question before I blob on the internet about something if they can fix it then Ill give them a good review if they cant then I will not. I think I was charged 3 times 2 months for a magazine keep in mind I havent done my due diligence to question them about this yet I will do that tomorrow and then post my comet
Nice bookstore. However they have no indoor seating right now, not sure if its because of covid or if they are always thi way.
I asked for a certain book at the help desk. The person there just pointed in the general direction of where I would find it. Keep in mind they have thousands of books. I never found what I was searching for so I left with nothing. I can order it online with another book company without the rudeness. I will never come back to Barnes and Noble.
My favorite book store. The guy with the usa mask is awesome. Hes so helpful. The store is clean safe and implementing masks. Thank you so much.
This was my first time visiting the bookstore and it was a very pleasant experience.
Great store
Other than follow people of color in the store, so many books, so little time.!
Great book store
Their book selection is everything you could need the magazine selection covers all imagined interests. But the manga and graphic novel section is huge and a real treat to peruse!
They recently reorganized the store and I love the new layout. They are always friendly and it is so nice to hold a book in your hand before you buy it.
Always clean and organized. Staff wore masks. Theres sanitizer at the entrance. Even though there wasnt alot of staff there, they were accomodating and as always, very friendly.
Always a pleasure to enter, staff is always friendly and expedient. Very clean store!
Great place to find reference books!
Found wonderful shark book for my grandson.
Clean & Orderly. Lots of Sales. And good deals.
If you love books a very fun place to shop!
Barnes and Noble is a good browsing store. Most things are at full list price unless you pay to be in their club to get discounts and sales. Thats probably a good deal for regular customers, but thats not me. So I dont usually buy much, but I really enjoy just hanging out and looking at stuff. Most of their locations have a Cafe or coffee shop inside, so thats an added bonus to browse while sipping on a delicious (but pricey) beverage.
Always a great place to grab a book. Excellent variety, something always there for everyone. Great kids area and always a plus to have the Starbucks coffee. Helpful staff.
I love B and N!! I especially love their decorator magazines, cookbooks, and I always love a drink and cookie in their Starbucks cafe. I buy all my party invitations there because they are the only place that has the cute Victorian cards.
The staff was extremely helpful & friendly.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Bathroom is clean.
They fixed my Nook. Sara is a ROCK STAR !!
Great place find anything of interest
Love this place, staff is super friendly and it has tons of my favorite things...books 🙂
It was a little on the expensive side but other then that it was great. The selection of books another items was awesome!!
Great selection of books, magazines and other media. Always has cheap prices on fun books. Inside food, alittle high on prices but convenient and good selection and fresh bakery items.
Needed a wall calendar, specifically a Lang to go with the wooden hanger made for it. Was told all wall calendars sold out. Must have ordered a much limited supply.
This place is beautiful. Its big with large roomy aisles. The people here are really friendly and very happy to just stop what theyre doing to have a (very knowledgeable) conversation with you about books! This is pretty much a B&N on steroids in the very best possible way.
Very helpful in filling a large order of books from a list with only titles and a few authors noted.
My girlfriend and I escaped the rain and had a great couple of hours at Barnes & Noble
Books in real life.....
Large selection of books and helpful staff
Love book stores, so glad theyre still around.Nothing like browsing around finding new books, magazines or sales. When I cant find s book, theyll order it for me and its delivered at home in a few days. Very customer friendly.
They had what I wanted and easy check out.
Helpful staff and a good collection of books to choose from. Ive purchased books from here many times for my teaching.
I do enjoy a good cup of coffee and a book and this place has both! Good place for studying if youre not around a library this place has a wide variety of books that could help or be useful. Overall pretty great!
The 12 year old NEW young author was simply a gentleman in the making! He was cute and looked you straight in the eyes while answering questions! Matthew Thrush WILL go far in his lifetime! Kudos to Matthews mom and dad for supporting him.Im the lady w the crazy purple and blue hair from Nashville TN. Keep me posted on future release date [email protected]
Made a phone call to see if they was going to be able to find a couple of books that I could purchase. When I called he informed me that there was one customer ahead of me.Puts me on hold. Forty five minutes later and still on hold. If he was that busy to not come back on line and acknowledge me and let me know that he hasnt forgot about me would of been nice. Or if he just didnt want to help me ;great just dont lie to. Now I remember way I wasnt going to shop there.. 3 years ago same thing happen got treated like they dont want my business. Finally called Books&company they treated me with the upmost respect and went out of their way to help.
I mostly visit this place when they have activities or events for kids or families. It is a great way for them to bring traffic to their store. Their in-house Starbucks is perfect and the free samples are awesome! The selection of books and toys (for kids) are plenty. Great way to emphasize the importance of reading to your kids.
I just went in to buy a book that was released yesterday. The man at the counter, his name was Ron, said that they were sold out everywhere. He told me to wait a second and he went to the other side of the counter and pulled out the book he had saved back for himself to purchase and sold it to me. Little things like that restores faith in humanity. That was so kind of him, and I hope Barnes&Noble recognizes and gives praise to employees like him.
Ok
