My husband & I used McSwain 2 years ago when we had vinyl plank installed in our home. We were pleased with the work they did & recommended them to my 88 year old mother, who had sheet vinyl installed last week. The installer was very unreliable. He would show up 2-3 hours late, work a couple hours then leave, go to lunch & not come back, etc. It took 6 days to install in her kitchen, dinette & laundry room. When we had our whole first floor done, it took less than half the time. My mother called me 2-3 times a day upset because of this. She also called the store almost daily to let them know as well. They agreed it should have never taken more than 2 or 3 days. After the installation was done, I called the store several times, but was never able to speak to the salesman. My mother finally reached him & was told they didnt normally give money off for that sort of thing, but they would extend a 10% senior citizen discount. If you have a senior discount, shouldnt you have offered that to an 88 year old up front? My mother will be in the market for carpet for the remainder of her house soon, but we will not be going back to McSwain.
Dennis Isreal at McSwain Carpets was awesome! He is very knowledgeable, easy to work with and just a great guy. I highly recommend McSwain Carpets for all your carpet/flooring needs. Their installers did a phenomenal job. I love the look of my new carpet and flooring. Totally transformed my home.
Our salesman Glenn Younger did an excellent job of helping us choose the correct luxury vinyl flooring for our basement and kid and pet friendly carpeting for our stairs. We are very pleased with the timely scheduling and install of the flooring. Highly recommended.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT 10! Was a great experience at the North Dayton location! Our salesman Dennis was the best! Professional, knowledgeable, helpful and very patient working with us and answering all our questions. The product was top notch! And the best were the installers who were also very professional, talented and had fun doing their job! It was cute listening to them sing along to some Christmas carols on the radio😉I highly recommend McSwain and will definitely use them again. Will also suggest them to anyone looking for recommendations on flooring!!! Thanks for a job well done!
My husband and I went in looking for a carpet fragment. Salesman Dan Partenach greeted us and quickly found a carpet sample that was perfect and gave it to us. He was professional and friendly. We will definitely go to McSwains on Maxton Road for all our carpet needs. Excellent!
I highly recommend this company, they did 1700 sq feet of my house in 3 days. The workers from McSwain were timely, polite and neat, I appreciated them working in harmony with the other contractors in my house. My sells Rep was Dennis from Dayton, he spent a lot of time with me on my selection, he even suggested I take the sample home before finalizing my choice(So glad he did, I changed products). I had boards placed under all my Tile for proper leveling, they bricked my design for longevity, the craftsmanship was excellent. Thank you soooooo much
Mcswains has awesome deals on laminate and carpet treated me with up most respect and took care of all my flooring needs thank you mcswains
I truly enjoyed the time taken to explain things to my wife and me. We had the time look at flooring options, bring samples home and the results show it. No hard sales pitch. Just great advice.
Very nice sales people worst installation job Ive ever experienced. Showed up late 1st day by 3 hrs 2nd day stayed at my house for 14 hrs till 1 am and still didnt get job completed. Best they could do is to offer to fix there mistake and refund me 200 dollars. Boy they saved the day with that. 840 sqft of carpet padding and tac strips and 250 sqft of lvt floor in kitchen and bathroom. Everything was removed so should have went very smooth. If you like paying for quality and professionalism and expect to be bent over I would highly recommend this place. If you expect quality professionalism then go elsewhere. 2 seems are highly noticeable one register was cut wrong and the seem in my living room is right in the middle of the room instead of being hid behind the couch.
Misleading! False advertising! Was in such a hurry to go to lunch! No no no!
I walked into the Miamisburg store one Friday at about 4:30. The store was completely empty. The one person there acted like they could hardly be bothered to assist. When I finally coerced some info out of her (it was like pulling teeth) about the flooring I was considering, she said shed get back to me the next day with an estimate, and then would come out to take a look. I never heard a thing from them. Not a word. It was strange, and sad. How in Gods name do businesses like this stay afloat?
Great experience...Thank You Danny for your great customer service so appreciated.
We had an ok experience with the store, our problem started when we purchased the carpet and flooring. We were told that if we had new trim to put down that the installers would make sure that it was cut and put back into place so we had no worries. As they took trim off the wall they broke several pieces that could not be reused so I had to buy more, one of the installers put a hole in the pantry where the flooring went and we were never told about it. When they were done installing the flooring on the main level of the house, the installers could not put the trim pieces back on around the steps and could not match up the trim. The installers did a poor job and their craftsmanship was not good. We had the installation supervisor come out to look at the job. He sent the same installers out to fix it and all they did was kind of patch the hole in the pantry they made and used caulk on some of the cracks and such. We were told that they did not have the tools to fix the trim on the steps. The transition strip they put in was not level or matched up (they had to put 2 pieces together to fit the opening) and we were told that they could not custom fit a 10 ft piece to make it look right so they had to get 2 strips and put them together but it was not level and looked really bad and they could not fix it either. The Store was supposed to get me 2 new strips so I could have someone else to do the job correctly but could not find the strips to give them to us. Needless to say I had to get someone else out to fix all the problems their installers caused and that cost me another 300.00 to do so.
Spent a lot of time shopping for flooring & ended up going to one of the first places we checked out - McSwains. Our new vinyl flooring was professionally, efficiently installed in two days - a great crew of guys! - and it is exactly what we wanted. Many thanks for Gordon Finns (flooring consultant) patience in answering my questions. This was a really good experience, at a reasonable price, all way round.
I recently had Shaw flooring carpet and vinyl tile put down. I love the look and the guys took about the time I expected. What I didn’t like is the wait time for the work to be done. In fairness it was the November- January timeframe. Costco should hire some more quality carpet/floor layers. Also, we should have been warned that sawdust would be everywhere. It took me and my husband 3 runs/days at cleaning up our whole downstairs. Lastly, I would have liked some instructions about how the tile should be cleaned. The first time we did with the upstairs we had specific instructions. This tile is different so it made mewonder about it. So 4 stars it is.
In April 2018 i had 3 bedroom floors redone with laminate flooring from McSwain, they did a great job and i was very happy with the results. Thank you!!!
Gordon was very helpful and saved me a lot on my vinyl plank flooring. My whole experience was wonderful. Both the installers did a beautiful job.
Cant tell you how much we love the carpet, the installers were fantastic great job, will never go any place else for carpet, thank you so much
We have been putting off getting new carpet for years. We were not sure what we wanted. The staff at McSwains was very helpful. The carpet is beautiful! We were very pleased with our purchase.
Just called the store and asked them to give me a quote on a house Im trying to sell. They were unwilling to drive by the house and give me an estimate without having me come to the store first. Problem is Im from out of town and needed a professional to advise me.
Highly disappointed, $1600.00 for living room and hall, love the carpet but the installation was Very bad, seams were so bad you could see padding through the seam, large bubbles in the carpet where it had not be stretched correctly, padding in some places feels like its wadded up under the carpet. Called and complained and I told them I didnt want the guys who installed it to come back out, and I was told that it would have to be them. They came back out and its worse now than before, the carpet where it meets the bedroom carpet is not even hooked into the metal strip that they put in, and where they seamed it in places there is jute string sticking out of the carpet, Not professional at all. And nobody at McSwain has even checked up on what was done and if we are happy with what was redone. Have not decided what further action I will take.
I would definitely recommend this place for carpet. Carpet looks great!
Had a very positive experience at Mc Swains. Very professional from the moment we walked in the door until the carpet was installed. I definately recommend them!
A no-nonsense carpet store. Access is a bit difficult, but the store has a wide selection of affordable remnants and good new carpets.
Sales staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was refused product because it was looked at and style picked out at a different McSwain store. I was treated very unprofessionally and literally turned away and refused product. The salesman said its their policy not to undercut another store or salesman on a sale. $3000 worth of carpet and padding for 1 room and they refused the sale... Very unbecoming of a retail business. Shop elsewhere.Update 1 -I was called by district sales mgr. Tom Wood. He made a bunch of excuses for why the store couldnt sell me the product. (licensing, outlet store, stock, etc...) He offered no real solution to the problem other than he would talk to the employees and use it as a Learning LessonHe then went on to tell me that he contacted both the store my customer found the sample at as well as the store who had refused me service before calling me. He had obviously formed an opinion before contacting the complainant! After this he told me the location in which my customer found the sample had called the customer to discuss the issue. Problem is that I am the contractor and the one paying for the material and requesting their services. As soon as I referenced it being unnecessary and unprofessional to call my customer (Tortious Interference) he immediately said It was not unprofessional. I think we are done here. Goodbye) and hung up on me!I have left numerous unanswered calls with corporate today. We will see what happens. What kind of professional, retail business conducts themselves like this?
The salesman did a great job getting the carpet installed quickly, the installer didnt completely finish the installation and had to vome back 2 weeks later to finish work on the carpet and hang the closet doors back in place.
Ken, our salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. Installers, Ray and Sara were very professional.
Great carpet and great service!
Very pleased with the buying experience, and the installers were top notch.
Always have had great service not only personally but also my clients as well. Chris Jordan was a big asset to the customer service I should mention.
