As an avid coffee drinker, their coffee is awesome! The staff is hands down the most caring group of people. They genuinely want to get to know their customers and create the best drinks possible!

This is a wonderful place! Their sandwiches are great (and hearty), flavored teas are a treat, & of course the coffee is superb. The atmosphere is welcoming & there’s plenty of room. So, whether you’re meeting friend’s for lunch/dinner, or need a place to read/study, this is the place! They also have space to rent for events. Our daughter & her fiancé had their engagement party here—loved it!

Most of the low ratings are due to masks, but I didn’t have an issue with that. I assume that if they’re not wearing masks, they are vaccinated. However, I was told to leave, because I brought outside food in. Even though I was buying a large coffee and planning to tip. I understand they sell theyre own food, but cake and muffins is not a breakfast for me. They asked me if I could eat my food in the car and then come in. No thank you. There are too many coffee shops in Denton to eat in my car when there’s so many empty tables in there. Especially when I’m buying from them, and not just using their restaurant to eat and study at without ever being a customer.

Awesome coffee shop!! amazing coffee and very friendly and cool vibe. was chilling and some girl that was there with her mom asked me to play chess with her. i have not played chess in years and it was very fun to play again. very cool and friendly community there!! i am grateful to have been welcomed and treated so nicely!!!! The coffee was very good. I had a Mocha Frappe with Caramel on top. It was very good.

This place also has some cool clubs and is great for finding new friends and social circles.Even if you don’t like coffee, this is a great place to hang out!

Staff was great, coffee was fantastic, and they had a nice seating area where you can study or relax and enjoy your hot-bean-water!

I do miss the older, more eclectic style of Zera...but the updated structure and more open floorspace is definitely still a welcoming and comfortable place to sit and study, hang out, or just enjoy a cup of tea. Im allergic to a bunch of things including coffee....but the strawberry hibiscus tea was really yummy, and an italian cream soda was my go-to before my dairy allergy! If youre gonna buy a coffee or host a study group, why not do it AND help a great organization at the same time? Keep up the good work, Zera. Still my preferred coffee shop in Denton.

I just love the vibe in this place! This place is a real hub that connects so many people in Denton. It is amazing to think that everything is run by volunteers and that profits go towards the Denton Freedom House to provide a free program that includes accommodation, food and ministry to rehabilitate those in need. Great place to fellowship. This place helps fund the Freedom House ministries. They help men and women get off the street and overcome their addictions to become prosperous disciples of Christ. Coffee is good too.

Great coffee wonderful cause. Two hour worship last Friday of every month starts at 7.

I had my usual - soy latte - and they accidentally gave me the 16oz even though I asked and paid for 12oz. I honestly dont think any place failed me with soy latte and thankfully this place didnt either. We didnt stay because we were going to the lake, but this place had lots of seating available. overall is good for me

I ALWAYS come here to study!! Its never too crowded and its always so quiet or theres a nice background noise. The atmosphere is super calming, and the people are SO. NICE. Today, I guess they ran out of vanilla so one of the baristas made me something just by winging it and guessing what I would like in my drink.

Worst was the lack masks, then came my order of average drinks for above-average pricing, and on top of it all the non-profit is religious. There is no information about the non-profit services offered to the community.

Best café that Ive been to.

First off... Staff was NOT wearing masks! They had face shields but were not even worn correctly. Second, they overcharged our order (since when was two 16 oz iced coffees equal to $12? No receipt was provided either). Third, my friend’s drink appeared to have chunks in her drink from the creamer and the drink tasted foul.

Walked away as soon as I saw the no mask sign. If employees cant keep a simple piece of cloth on their face to keep me safe, god knows what other health violations are going on. And why exclude the immune compromised to be yourself? Masks have made it so easy to spot the selfish and ignorant, and clearly this shop is comprised of that.

Its a cool coffee shop, Christian atmosphere which is awesome!

Zera is my favorite coffee/study place in town, it’s truly one of a kind. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. It’s a great spot to study, meet with a group, or grab some coffee with a friend. There is plenty of seating space, so you usually won’t have to worry about finding a table (Unlike most other coffee places). It supports a great cause too, all proceeds go to the Denton Freedom House. Great coffee, staff, and atmosphere. Stop by if you can!

Very big inside & plenty of parking.

None of the employees or church members wear mask here ! I’ve never seen an employee in one and college kids come here all the time to study. And on Friday nights this place is packed with 50Or more church people and no one wears mask. Horrible during this time of the pandemic. I would not recommend coming here. Way better places out their to study who actually care about the community health.

The coffee is fine, and the atmosphere is the real pull, but theyre not requiring masks when you walk in. My wife and I walked in and promptly left after seeing 20+ people packed in the front without masks, and plenty more in the seating area. We understand that they serve food and beverages, so of course its not reasonable to expect a mask at all times, but to have almost the entire line of peolle waiting to order without masks is not acceptable. Its a shame, really, to see business blatantly ignoring CDC guidelines and Denton County mandates, puting the health of our community at risk. Goodbye, Zera ✌️

I like to come to non profits in order to better the community, but the lack of masks worn at this establishment shows that they do not actually care about the health of our town! No employees wore masks and I am fine because I am vaccinated but it was still very uncomfortable.

This place is nice and has a laid back atmosphere. There were guys playing flutes, book clubs, bums, and an overall eclectic group of people drinking coffee.I ordered a spicy mocha coffee and it was awesome! I wish I lived closer! I would be a regular!!!

Staff was not properly wearing a mask, I was overcharged, my order was wrong, a certain staff member was holding bread for a customer’s order with his bare hands, and the staff was rude and not helpful. In addition to this, my coffee tasted awful and there were chunks in my coffee. They also have not been enforcing mask wearing with their customers either. I used to love this place and go all the time, but they have now lost a customer.

I really wanted to like this coffee shop based on other reviews, but it was really loud and I did not see any workers wearing masks (in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic). I tried this coffee shop once, but I dont see myself returning. It is a popular place, so perhaps I just had an unusually bad experience.

I wondered if writing a review was even worth it because what is done is done and can’t be changed but I absolutely love and miss the old vibe zeras used to have ! The newly renovated zeras feels cold and dare I even say sterile, maybe they felt a certain need to compete with more modern spots like golden boy or Jupiter house but nothing will ever beat the moody atmosphere of the old zeras, especially combined with the big comfy couches and warm toned furniture that they swapped out for generic mid century modern pieces :(

The coffee is great and the staff is always so delightful! I love the whole ambiance of the place. Very comfortable and makes me feel at home.

TLDR: No masks and no social distancing.Really love the drinks and atmosphere of this place but hardly anyone but the employees are wearing masks and there is zero social distancing. There was 7 people in line with less than 2 feet between them and 4 had no masks on. Was told they do not enforce or ask for mask useage inside the building. I’ll look forward to coming back here after the pandemic.

Incredible mission statement, incredible seeing the work of God in the souls of men and women turning their lives around, I love what this place is all about and the satellite missions that it supports elsewhere in Denton (Shepards Hand). The Lord is ALIVE in Zeras and it can be felt upon entering the door

I love Zera so much. I used to come all the time. I would always order the Irish Cream latte and it was amazing every time. They have some very talented and special people behind the bar. I love and support everything they stand for here, and I’m so happy that a place like this exists in my city. The people are great, amazing cause, bomb food, coffee and atmosphere to die for...what’s not to love? Couldn’t recommend it more.

Sandwich lacked luster, if you will. mostly lettuce. and all the employees have masks but dont seem to have read the instructions on how to properly wear them, thus far into a second pandemic outbreak. mind blowing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what this shop stands for and the people in it! Always so sweet and welcoming and they have great spaces for meetings and working!Only down side is it’s definitely not on pare with other coffee shops taste wise (of course it also depends on the barista you get and what you’re ordering!). BUT, worth the risk for a good cause!

The quintessential coffeehouse serving a variety of rich, strong coffees as well as teas, sandwiches and desserts. The staff is volunteer who put their heart and soul into making your experience pleasant. Every purchase is a donation to an amazing cause. The layout is a multiple-room vintage house with seating at couches, booths and tables. Shelves carrying books offer all kinds of good reading. WiFi works perfectly. Funky, friendly, super comfortable. Youll want to stay all day so I would recommend the bottomless cup!

That was a mighty fine cup of coffee and an excellent blueberry muffin. I like the renovated layout, but I miss the big furniture with the fluffy cushions. Some of its still there, but a lot of it moved on, I guess. Still a great cup of coffee, though!

Owned by a guy who I originally met 15 years ago distributing free hot dogs on Old Fry to the homeless and to people out drinking. Anyone really but that was the primary demographic. I found it unusually kind and uplifting. He also had information available on Christianity if you were interested. As I understand it, Zera is the logical progression of the same idea in the form of a coffee shop.

What else can I say about Zera Coffee Denton. Zera is my second home! The atmosphere is intimate, and very peaceful. When you reading or studying you want to be in a place that is homey and comfortable. And what better place can you buy a cup of coffee for a wonderful cause.

This place is very well kept, beautiful area to sit and do work or have coffee and relax. The people there were nice.

Great coffee shop in a decent location in Denton. I was very surprised by how big it was inside and all the tables having plugs with usb ports wherever possible. Definitely not the cheapest coffee shop, but also not the most expensive, seems to cater towards students in the area and small business owners/entrepreneurs that want to get away from home to work on their projects, and general patrons equally. Staff was fun and friendly, too! Definitely a place Ill return to in the future!

Huge coffee shop with plenty of seating and charging outlets to work on your laptop or just charge your phone. They have a pretty decent sized patio seating area in the back as well.They have seasonal drinks that change every few months and a bunch of board games!I love the homely vibe here😊

Zera coffee has everything you could want in a coffee shop: tons of comfortable seating and parking space, helpful and nice staff, reasonable prices, and great drinks. All for a good cause, too! I will definitely be coming back.

This is a great place to study or get some work done. There are some good options like bottomless brewed tea (black, hibiscus, mint, etc).The coffee is far from excellent, but okay. The espresso machine they have is okay and the execution could be better. I am a little biased, as a previous manager of a coffee shop. But I would still come here for the atmosphere and easy study.Also, this place is non profit supporting charity, so that rounds out the rough edges.
