Found a plant at a reasonable price. $4.89. everywhere else are higher. Forgot its name they have different colors yellow most popular. Its a fall plant. I picked burgendy. Lots to see. Place my eye on a fridge. Needless to say I dont need one.
Good landscaping products at decent prices. Wait for sales for the best deals.
I came to Home Depot to pick up flowers for my parents yard/deck. I had never gonw there for flowers before (I usually go to a greenhouse) but I was impressed! There were lots of flowers to choose from, sorted with tags marking between full sun and part sun. The prices were really competitive and for $124 I got a lovely pre-arranged planter, 3 hanging baskets, and flowers to plant in a longer rectangular planter. Staff was really nice when I needed to switch out flowers after paying (be sure to look outside also, before making a final decision.) There werent employees available for questions, but I figured things out on my own easily enough. Im positive I will be back for more!
Grateful for Karen’s help in the paint department. She helped me match a paint color (worked out perfect), and made excellent recommendations for how to prepare and paint the outside of my house. My project turned out beautiful, thanks to her expertise! She is very knowledgeable and helpful.
They have what you need if you can find it. Dont bother asking someone for help because trust me they have no idea. I try to avoid going here.
Lots of home improvement stuff can be found here
I had a very nice gentleman help me find what I needed at Home Depot. Ive always been able to find a helpful person at the Downers Grove Home Depot for assistance. I recommend this store if you need help finding something, they have always been very nice.
Home Depot and the plumbing department to the rescue. I was trying to replace a shower mixer cartridge that was leaking when the entire fixture snapped off. I rushed in to the store at 950 PM and in minutes they suggested shark caps for the hot and cold water supplies, which temporarily solved my plumbing issue and allowed me to turn the water back on for the balance of the house. A temporary solution for a very active house of 5. Thank you for the quick thinking guys in the plumbing department as the store was closing. We are very thankful. Pictures below before and after shark caps and then the complete repair. Thanks Home Depot plumbing department!
Everyone at this location is so helpful. I was confused about couple of items, at each section someone was there to help out and answer. Great customer service !
Good luck getting any help in this store. Everytime you see an associate they turn the other direction and walk quickly away. When you finally catch someone they dont know where anything is. I asked 4 people and they all said they dont know. Not a single one attempted to get someone who could help. They just left after saying they dont know. Might as well buy from amazon with customer service like this.
Greatest place I love to spend time
Caroline - Caroline working in blinds and appliances, that’s her! No one likes to make a second trip, ever. However, Caroline was pleasant, helpful and apologetic for a mistake another employee had made. Customer service was great! Thanks again Caroline!
Ordered online, a few hours later was able to pick up order at the store.
I needed to run in to get vanity light bulbs. I was greeted by two Home depot associates right away and one directed me to the aisle I needed. After checking out an associate offered to take my cart back. Three wished me a good day. It was refreshing to have so many pleasant people engage.
I had to go to a different store because they don’t stock their shelves at night, like real stores do, they’d rather close off their sections during the day for customer inconvenience
Oak Brook didnt have the shingle color I needed. So I went to Downers Grove and the 2 gentlemen in lumber were fantastic but when I checked out the clerk didnt know how to put in a Pro ID and that would have flown if she didnt make it sound like the system was bad. Sorry honey I worked at HD for years and you just didnt show pride in your work. When I got outside to load the shingles the cart guy walked right past without asking a 60 year old lady if she needed any help. I didnt but it would have been courteous to ask. A friendly HD patron passing by asked and although I needed no help it was nice of him to ask which made me chuckle for the younger generation. Its not on HD totally, some bad behavior has to stem from other places also, maybe just society.
Like all other home depots. Great selection of Halloween stuff too
My go to local home store. This particular store is well stocked and has some of the more friendly helpful staff I have encountered in HD stores. As well, their garden center is excellent. Please consider liking this review if helpful.
The one cashier near the Exit Door was rude. She saw my wife and I standing by the Key Cutting Service Desk but didnt call anyone until I walked over to her to ask her to call someone to help. She said that I have to ask for help because she didnt know that I needed help. Poor Customer Service. Didnt get her name.
After navigating with their poorly laid out parking lot with the narrow spaces (some people drive trucks or large cars), and having to walk to the far single entrance (all others still closed for Covid), it turned out that on Fathers Day weekend, they had no propane. Great inventory planning Home Depot.
Go-to location, Mark was very helpful with my needs. love the self check out, never a long line to check out
Love this place. Always find what I need, very helpful staff most of the time. Love the ProDesk.
Has everything you can possibly need for remodeling. Way better than Ace or any other hardware store.
This is the adult version of a candy store. I can spend hours going through the aisles imagining all the home improvements i would do if I had time. And money. And a house. Also, the staff here are really nice and friendly. Someone give them a raise!Ps. They have competitive prices, and sometimes are actually cheaper than Amazon or Walmart. Recommend 10/10.
Pro Desk is the best of all that Ive ever dealt with over the past 25 years! Bar none!
Awesome place. Best product selection with affordable prices.#1 Customer service.
I’ve had nothing but bad experiences here. The associates either argue with me because they think they know better and half the time lead me to the wrong thing, or they flat out ignore me. Being a woman who knows her way around lumber and power tools is incredibly frustrating here - I get mansplained constantly. I think I’ll take the extra 15 minutes to hit Lowe’s next time
Drove 45 minutes each way to rent a tool because online said my local store didnt have an orbital floor and deck sander. Got it home to find the hook and loop backing worn out and wouldnt hold the abrasive. Went to local store to buy more and found they had the tool for rent too.
MUCH better than the Home Depot in Oak Brook. It can get pretty hairy in there on crowded days, but overall great selection and helpful employees.
I hate salesmen....but I sure love Bill Trage (Appliance Specialist)!! My husband and I didn’t know where to start with our new appliances package so we were dreading hearing “the sales pitch”. We were surprised when we met Bill and his honesty and knowledge really helped us and made us feel at ease. Never once did we feel pressured, but confident, in our decision. See Bill if you’re in the market for appliances, he’ll steer you in the right direction...with no annoying sales tactics!
Was wonderful, very busy and yet there is always someone ready to assist. I love this store.
Nicest people. There is another Home Depot that’s nearer to my house, but I go to this one. It’s exceptional. Thanks for the help today Brian.
Home Depot Associates are always so helpful! They talked through the options for my project to help me make the best decision. Returns have always been easy too when I change my mind.
Customer service treated me with disrespect. Swearing at me. And then called the store manager and he was swearing at me to and told me they dont need my business anymore. I hope they are nicer to other customers
Incredibly helpful and kind front end staff - Roz, Eric and Lewis.
Great Experience. All the time.Thomas is the supper Excellent.
Im a local. This is the best home depot in the area as far as cleanliness, customer service, and ease of access.
Very good for shopping all home DIY projects. Great customer service.
Lovely place everytime Ive been. Mark in customer service, an older man deserves a raise. Very friendly and helpful
Any location of Home depot, the staff are nice ! I went to see if they have the lumber & plank what I need. The guy at the section explained me very details ! Thank you, sir !
This Home Depot is the closest to me and it usually provides what I need in a pinch. Lately, there have been so many occasions where this stores supply/stock is so unorganized that Ive driven down the road to the Downers Grove Home Depot and found things quickly. Makes me wonder if I should just save time and head straight to the DG one instead.
Being it was a weekend and everyone was buying yard stuff, it was people everywhere. They got through the lines fast all with smiles on their faces.
Alec was very helpful and his customer service was excellent this is by one of most organized home depot Ive been
Their website is horrible!! After being a long time customer Ive had it. Theres always a problem. Menards is starting to look good. I hate that place.
As a first time homebuyer Im here ALOT. and I hate this store and the lack of customer service. Everytime Im there I have to run around looking for assistance. After waiting 10 mins today for an associate Im taking the extra time to go to Mendards
Never have what you need in stock. No weeding tools for a paver patio anywhere!!! Time to find another home and garden store.
Tool rental loan answer the phone except to say please hold and then you wait forever
I am a faithful Home Depot customer and my fiance recently had knee surgery. I phoned ahead to Store #1916 in Downers Grove to make certain the store offered motorized scooters for her to use while we shopped. The customer service gentleman assured me they were available. My fiance and I drove to the store where I asked a young man about getting an electric shopping scooter. We walked over to the location of four units. The employee was unfamiliar with the scooters and their condition, and appeared to have no interest in helping us. After examination, he indicated three of the units were not charged and unusable. The fourth had a partial charge and he assured us it would be adequate to get her around while we completed our shopping. Long story short, the unit lost all its charge before we completed our shopping and in spite of being 70 years old I pushed my fiance to the checkout lanes while the female cashier and two male employees watched. One of the male employees was the same young man who gave us the scooter originally. My fiance ended up walking the remaining distance on her knee that recently had surgery. Would have been nice if any employee had offered to help us or get us a different electric scooter. Please keep your electric shopping carts charged and train someone who cares to monitor the carts condition.
Great service. Second best Home Depot after the Home Depot on North Ave. in Chicago.
Great store, clean, staff very friendly and helpful.
Ramping up for spring 2021. Love their separate greenhouse.
Got everything I needed, staff very helpful and helped me save a little money
Dave, has an issue with women and should seriously seek counseling
Tool rental associate at drop off was not helpful with an issue I had. I would much rather go to a different location after this experience.
Normally good, bad experience today with a rude employee in the paint department.
Helpful staff, had the items I needed.
Except for the cashier and the 2 guys that ended up helping everyone else was rude and didnt want to help me at all whatsoever. I spent a lot of money and nobody wanted to help me. I am handicapped from an accident and I need help. It would have been 1 star but those guys were exceptionally helpful and nice. They also did not have everything that I needed which was heavily inconvenient
Its always good to go to Home Depot.Value and customer service is outstanding at each and every HD I go to.
Home Depot’s big, it’s nearby and it usually has what we need.
Ever since I purchased my home, Home Depot has been the place for all of my home needs. Even had a kitchen remodel done through them. Best room in the house.
Had to go to different HD to get enough hardware.
Thios is a great guy! Quite possibly the nicest, friendliest and helpful in this entire store. There is also a blonde haired woman (short hair) who usually works outside as a cashier (during the summer months) who is so pleasant - I have seen her work inside as well. I remember she told me she became a widow within the last few years. Anyway, these 2 are just the best! Excellent customer service!!! Everyone else is rude and not helpful! Thios and this sweet woman are big assets and can teach others how to be!
Always the go-to store for all home improvement needs.
Hours are super convenient and they have associates there who are friendly, so thats always a positive thing
Service is good but sometimes slow. Excellent product selection.
We like going there for any repair or home remodel things. And i like the tools. We can take our dog in shopping is another thing I like bout home depot
Excellent customer service 👏
Excellent service! A new employee (names Ale) only two days on the job spent almost an hour helping me find the right parts for a lawn mower and snow blower. Even though he was not familiar with the parts, he delved into websites and cross referenced items. He did it all very thoughtfully and patiently. Thank You, Ale!
I typically get what I need whenever I come here. I do appreciate the management and staff here whenever I cant find what I need.
The woman in paint is terrible. Not only abrasive. But constantly leaves the counter to stock shelves. Both customers in front of me had to remind her that the paint shaker had stopped. It may not be her fault, she was the only one there. If thats the case what kind of half wit managers schedule a single person on Saturday morning at 8am. Depot needs to clean house, management has failed them in Downers Grove. Pathetic.
Had what I needed. Price was as advertised, although not really the lowest available. Bathroom was filthy. Staff was uninterested and not cross-trained at all, more concerned with trying to sell other services and gather information for additional marketing.
They got everything I need, I recommend coming to this place if you really like to be creative and make stuff .
Mark in customer services was so helpful in getting us a replacement for a defective metal shelf for a metal storage shelving unit. Great service and such a great experience!
We recently bought a new fridge and dishwasher. First time they came there was a major ding in the front of the dishwasher so they didn’t install. Took another week to get a new one. The 3rd party delivery guy couldn’t install due to a plumbing issue and now it’s going to be another week to get a “special team” to do the install. Fine. I get it. But then he left my power off and water off. He turned it so tight that it won’t budge so now I am stuck without a dishwasher with 4 kids for another week or I have to pay a plumber to come fix it for me. He also broke a priceless decoration from my mom who’s passed on his way. Spent two days trying to get someone to help me get this fixed and the best I got was a sorry and $100 for my trouble. Everyone passing the torch and no one to take accountability, yet I’m left stuck without any dishwasher and am at their mercy. If I could cancel I would be they have me on the crutch. No way I can get this done before Thursday 🤬
Home Depot is a hit or miss. They have lots of stuff but not always easy to find. Still a good resource
Drove all the way down here from carol stream to get a ryobi cultivator attachment via curbside pickup. i get home to put it together and its been used!!! the blades are all scratched, bent, and chipped. this was obviously bought, used once, returned, and then put back on the shelf?!?! dont you check these things!!!??? if i wanted a used one i would have paid less for a used one. i will return it to a different location and NOT return here. thanks for wasting my time.
Good sized home depot off Butterfield. The outdoor selection is pretty great, and because there are no surrounding stores, there is always plenty of parking.
Had to run to downers grove store when Woodridge didnt have the molding we needed. They checked the inventory & said it was on hand there. DG store staff was equally helpful when we couldnt locate the molding & they then cut it for us. Maybe it was a slow night but the customer service was great at both locations!
Its a Home Depot! You know what to expect! I personally always love checking out their networking equipment. Their staff is always super knowledgeable and helpful.
Decent selection in the garden center!
I rate highly because of the rental department and the skill level found there. A repair was needed and performed. This is my best way to express my gratitude.
Home Depot is most definitely the place to go for DIY projects large and small. The Downers Grove store employees have helped me through countless projects in just about every department and I wouldnt consider going anywhere else. Quite honestly, the veterans discount on every purchase doesnt hurt either. If you get stumped in the aisles looking for a this or that the customer service desk is excellent at hooking you up with the right person to help you out. Its pretty cool that their app will actually tell you what aisle and bay almost everything in the store is located, as well. While youre there, make a point to wander through the greenhouse. Their selection is pretty broad and their plants are darn healthy for a big box hardware store. Most prices on some really popular and/or unique house plants are way, way lower than the specialty greenhouses in the local area.Theyve gone to almost all self checkout, but there are almost always more than one employee hovering around the checkouts to help you, or check out your entire order. To be clear, I am NOT an employee or investor in Home Depot! I simply appreciate a company who seems to be trying to prove hometown service to its customers.
Gotta love home depot if youre into dyi projects
GREATLY.NICE.
Great services and easy to find items within the store.
Good service from the guys in appliances
Everybody was very nice home depot has nothing on you 😉
Best source of assorted flowers
Great customer service by Alda at Downers grove Home Depot. She was very nice and helpful. Amazed by her customer service skills.
Helpful staff. fast moving checkouts
Always on target. Love Home Depot
All the customers except maybe one or two were wearing masks and social distancing. And yet almost the entire staff was either wearing masks incorrectly (hanging to one ear, not covering the nose, ...), or not wearing them at al, despite being close to customers. No time to figure out what the hell was wrong with them; for our own safety, we didn’t stay and won’t come back.
Great experience today at the home depot they help me right away. I definitely wil be back.
Its hard to find people to help you out! Although the store is the best one I have been to yet, the customer service needs to improve big time!
