Best place to buy your coffee beans, as they give you a free cup and have a frequent flyer program, giving you a free bag after 10! Also happens to be in the top 2 shops for coffee taste, with more parking than other shops since it’s not downtown. They often have breakfast burritos as well. Great shop!
Best coffee in town! Great quality, great prices, and AMAZING customer service. I love the energy and atmosphere, everything you want in a coffee shop🧡
Hands down the best coffee in town. Insanely well priced. Realistic selection. Perfect sized coffee cake and burritos. Badass fast service
Super cute place for coffee. The ladies were awesome. Got a latte with lavender and asked them to make it a little sweeter than normal. Got the 8oz size and it was perfect! The shop connecting to it was cute to look in as well.
Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Their breakfast burritos and coffee cake are restaurant quality as well. You can really tell the staff love what they do. Super friendly. We only came here twice and they remembered my order from the first time. Highly recommend.
Amazing staff and yummy coffee. So happy I found this place on my trip. Definitely worth the stop. 💞 Mrs. Rocky Mountain 2022
Best espresso/coffee in Durango! Came here with my dad and husband and had to come back a second day because it’s just SO GOOD! There burritos and breakfast date-bars are really good too. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves coffee.
My favorite place to get coffee, they have the best coffee in Durango. This place makes Durango Joes look like gas station coffee.
Amazing cappuccino! Super friendly staff, too.
We had been traveling for 2 weeks, and have had many coffees from local coffee shops (not starbucks). This was definitely the best one for sure with a reasonable price too! Thanks for a enjoyable drink!
Great coffee! Im so glad I stopped by on my way through town!
Gourmet coffee addict? Yes I am, and this addiction makes it difficult to spend more than 48 hours away from my coffee dealer in Austin, but thanks to this ridiculously awesome spot, I can spend as much time as I need in beautiful Durango. Thank you 81301.
Unbelievable coffee. Really, unbelievable. GO!
My favorite coffee shop... ever. The consistency of this place amazing me. So good, every time!
Staff so kind, helpful, and patient. The best coffee I’ve had in a long time! The cortados were amazing, and the atmosphere is warm and laidback.
Great coffee! Also the barista from Arkansas whos also an avid hunter is super nice and friendly! Sorry didnt get his name.
My first good sign that I’m in a good coffee shop is when I order a cappuccino and they don’t ask “what size?” A good cappuccino is all about proportions, and they are true to this. I received a “latte” style cap with great micro foam and a nice balanced flavor. The barista was very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere pleasant. I’ll definitely be back here if I ever find myself in Durango in the future.
Great breakfast burritos, just get there before noon.
We were headed into the mountains and I wanted a coffee and something to eat for breakfast. This was the perfect stop. It exceeded expectations. Anytime I can get fresh brewed coffee straight from the roasters, it’s a no brained. Also, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The coffee was on point and the breakfast burritos were just what we needed. Thank you!
Cold brew is top notch. I had my first ever cold brew float! Burritos are absolutely bomb. Staff are super friendly.
Great staff. The barista took exceptional pride in his foam design and I was very impressed, and happy to see the joy he was taking in his work. People forget that barista is an art form. Good burrito and excellent coffee cake. Great service all around. Friendly, helpful, and almost exceptional. Almost.
Amazing coffee! Amazing Baristas! Amazing burritos! Found this place through a friend. I have been back multiple times and will return multiple times more.
A hot latte in my insulated cup at a completely drinkable temperature?! What is this beautiful magic?!?
Coffee is just ok. Buck Owens and Mac Davis blasting their hits loud enough to prevent a phone conversation. No napkins, creamer or utinsils out. Have to ask to get a table wiped off. Some people will probably like it.
The coffee is always great, not expensive, and the people are super friendly. Plus as an added bonus they have delicious house made GF treats and breakfast burritos.
Atmosphere was cool and staff was friendly. Everything was clean and neat but my drink just fell short. I ordered a plain latte with almond milk and it tasted like a black coffee with a little bit of foam ? Maybe it was the almond milk was hard to work with, maybe I dont know what real coffee is but it just wasnt for me. Cool place over all
Great coffee, great burritos, great customer service with a small shop atmosphere!
This was my first visit and my cardamom latte is absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Great coffee shop and roaster with great specialty syrups.
Love this place! Great coffee, friendly staff, and, now, breakfast burritos! Give it a try...I guarantee, you will not be disappointed!
The atmosphere here was nice. I got a cappuccino with the house made almond milk. The roast of the beans was not my favorite, and neither was the house made almond milk. However, my husband loved the vanilla latte that he got. The staff was kind and professional.
My favorite coffee spot in Durango! Coffee & snacks are excellent. Amazing prices and super cool & friendly staff. Great vibes all around. Hunter & Bryce are rad!! Felt like part of the 81301 fam while I was visiting Durango :-)
I love the coffee here. It tastes super fresh because they roast it on site. The staff is very friendly and relaxed. I actually come here for the bagged coffee. It’s so fresh and delicious. I ship it to friends and family as gifts, and as a bonus I get a free cup of coffee with a purchase of a pound of coffee.
Great espresso and burritos. Cool design. Covid friendly takeout!
Best dark roast I’ve had
When I was camping at Junction Creek Campground my neighbor told me about 81301 and it was a good choice. Next door is a place that offers good burritos. So great coffee and a burrito and its back on bike heading North to the BMW rally.
All people that work here are awesome. Brightens up my day, everyday. Be ready for the occasional whip flip, pole climb, or joke of the day...take it from me, Nitrodamus, u cant go wrong here my people...love it
By far best coffee Ive had in Durango. Their housemade syrups are amazing.
Great cappuccino!
Great place to stop and grab a tasty coffee and burrito to start the day.
I write this from Grand Lake as I sip the last cup of 81301’s Ethiopia, brewed with aero press. These roasters know what they are doing, this coffee has pronounced notes including cocoa, cascara, and a juicy make believe fruit with the slightly sweet yet acidic undertone I tend to prefer in light roasts.Inside the coffee shop, the staff boasts tasteful attitudes. When ordering a regular coffee, it’s made to order right on the special pour over bar in what seemed like 2-3 minutes. (Like Phil’s). Based on the overall excellent vibe shining from all aspects of the shop, I must believe the espresso drinks are satisfying as well. You guys rock!
I havent explored every coffee spot in town yet, but so far, this is definitely my favorite! They do an excellent job with their almond milk lattes.. the almond milk is made in house and they dont burn it when steaming like many places tend to. Theres plenty of room to get work done and the staff is always super friendly.
Wow, what a nice little spot! Excellent espresso, nice, friendly employees, great cinnamon rolls and this place is kept very clean. I enjoyed this place and their coffee much more than the other coffee shop I tried yesterday.
Mark Maes first of all your review is inaccurate at best.... They dont even have the capability to serve 24oz drinks. 16oz is the largest... Second did you take the time to think that maybe the person behind the bar was actually busy and simply answering your question with quickness so they could focus on making an 8 or 6 oz Cappuccino? And maybe you are correct in that they should regulate what sizes they serve some of their drinks in? Maybe you should come back and give them another chance and actually give the owners some constructive feedback face to face so they can better their product.
Great coffee- the best weve tried in Southwest Colorado. The espresso is unique and complex, and our lattes were made very well. Glad we bought a bag of beans!
They absolutely have the best coffee in Durango. Their coffee is very smooth and not bitter. The only draw back to this coffee shop is they dont have any real food options and the seating is limited. I would however definitely make a special trip for their coffee. The staff is very friendly too.
Dont waste your time going anywhere else this place reigns supreme for every reason imaginable.
Great place to come in and have a good cup of coffee while relaxing. They roast their own coffee and use it for their drinks. They sell coffee by the pound and will ship it to you. I would recommend going here.
Great coffee! They had to put up with my bad attitude and rudeness!
I have stopped by a couple times now and really enjoy this place. I am a chai drinker and have tried a few other places in town. This is my favorite. I love the atmosphere and the service has been wonderful each and every time.
Passing thru and decided to try a local coffee house. Not only did we get a tip on an extra restroom but the Nitro was smooth and just what was needed to finish the drive to Ouray!
Ive never had a bad tasting drink at 81301. Its relatively relaxing in the store and you even have a view of their big roasting equipment which is the neatest to observe in action, a testament to how fresh their great beans are!
Very good latte !
This is a really cute place, and is perfect for hanging out and chatting. Plus, their employees are pretty great and their drinks are good.
Best coffee, best people, best price, and to top it all off you make your own almond and coconut milk?! Love the fact that I can grab a grain-free snack and the Nitro cold brew is SO good. So happy for you guys! Thank you for opening this shop. Its one of my most favorite Durango treats :)
Out of town visitor. Great vibe and the staff was kind and very knowledgeable on roasting/coffee beans. Really enjoyed the latte. Would definitely come again!
They have a beautiful Slayer espresso machine. Nice shots.
Had one of me best cups of coffee here.Inside are good vibes, and if its not too complicated or busy, they make your drink right then and there. Baristas are pretty chill, too.
Coffee their way. No artificial sweeteners. No skim milk. My Carmel latte wasnt sweet enough or hot enough. It was pretty. Just not what I wanted.
Diana, another reviewer is correct, if you want to drink high fructose corn syrup coffee flavored sugar water then go to one of the less refined coffee shops in town. 81301 is the only coffee shop around that gets it. They know you dont offer regular priced small espresso drinks starting at single espresso shots! This is just the beginning though. They roast their coffee in house and sell 16 ounce bags for $12 as opposed to 12 ounce bags at $16. This roasting house is run by a couple of young go getters who dont rely on tourists combing through downtown to make it. The coffee is real, the owners are real the atmosphere.... eh. No one is perfect, there are plenty of plugs for laptops here, and good seating for talking to friends, but the comfort level is low for long binges of schoolwork or otherwise. A fluffy chair or a cozy corner would be awesome. You have to hand it to them for making most of their tables though. Last thing, their cold brew would be better if they just charged more and didnt dilute them as much, at least they make true cold brew though, do I see nitro in the future? My #1 coffee shop.
Great chai! Cinnamon roll needed a little more time in the oven.
Lemme start off by saying this place has rockin’ good coffee, especially for being a relatively lone wolf in small batchery in the area. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by the staff the past couple visits. As a fellow pour over enthusiast, I love discovering third wave coffee shops and small batch roasters. 81301 was a surprise find when I first traveled to the area earlier this year where the baristas chatted about our mutual love for coffee and how the art of it was slowly crossing the country. Twice I’ve been in the past couple weeks with the first involving a barista slurring profanity from behind the bar right alongside the V60, and the next trip having one of the girls working refusing to “acknowledge” the comment of a friend I’d brought along who was trying to make polite conversation. I totally get some pretentiousness involved in the coffee shop biz (keeps the standards and flavor palettes on point), but to be borderline rude and slightly obnoxious isn’t really an attractive quality. Again, won’t knock the coffee though. Their housemade syrups (especially lavender lattes) are exquisite and americanos are killer. But if I go again, I just won’t bring friends.
Nice! A very pleasant coffee shop.
Super baristas! Organic coffee roasted on site oh and the house made almond milk, or crazy good muffins. Yeah Im hooked on this place
Busy place and crowded (I went in at 8 am) but great service and delicious Matcha Latte. All around great vibe. Ill be back at a less busy hour!
Good coffee and clean bathroom. Didn’t get a chance to try the cinnamon rolls but they were pulling them out of the oven when I left and they smelled like magic.
Best coffee roasters in town, when Im in the area I always pick up a bag or two
10/10 even though its out of five stars. made my trip to colorado 10x better.
Sorry, somehow posted this twice from two different Google accounts. Still, they deserve it! So great!
Really good coffee and really good cinnamon rolls...🤤I’ll be there every time I’m in town
Absolutely the worst whole bean roasts I’ve ever purchased. Brazil was green and French was light. Will not stop here again.
I always order the cold brew coffee. LOVE it! just wish u get a discount when u bring ur own cup. 💲☕
Crazy delicious coffee!
Great coffee. Cool atmosphere!
Wow man!! I am a coffee snob born in USA but living in europe and this place has the best coffee I have ever had! Their methods are unique and high quality and they roast their own beans. Tops my list of coffee shops. What luck i had stopping here while driving through Durango. My wife loved the hot chocolate.
Coconut milk mocha was good and the Hot chocolate reasonably priced. Really cool atmosphere!
Eric made the best almond dirty chai I’ve ever had today. He recommended that I add cinnamon and a shot of cold brew concentrate rather than espresso, and it is dynamite! He was also very kind and a great barista. Happy I chose your coffee house for my drive from Pagosa Springs to Flagstaff, AZ. Thank you!!
Ordered hot chocolate, received an 8 oz cup with about 3 oz in it. Total rip off
Truly the best coffee in Durango with great staff and even some nice GF/paleo treats. Their hot tea is top quality too.
Fantastic balanced espresso. Simple pour over and espresso bar made my trip to Durango. Check out the Roasting Lab with beautiful Probat. Slightly off the tourist grid so google it, check it out, grab a pound to go. Best coffee in town!
Best coffee in town! Ill be back without a doubt
This place is always full and not for no reason, good coffee and a nice atmosphere.
Good coffee, nice service. A little warm inside the shop but not bad.
Great coffee. Baristas were really nice.
Excellent. Best coffee Ive ever had, friendly staff, and a nice environment. I hate to say it but they put Durango Joes to shame
Best coffee in Durango; shop is welcoming and easy-going. Really nice people.
I like the pour over coffee a lot! I also tried a cappuccino but got a HUGE 24oz Latte instead, I asked if it that was a cappuccino (thinking it may be someone elses) I got a rude yes response, like I offended the dude. That guy needs to learn about coffee if hes going to work in a specialty coffee shop. Lesson 1 - a cappuccino is 6oz, many places serve it 8oz (which Im totally ok with.)
Good local hangout for coffee or tea along with pastries.
