I have been coming here for a few years now, since I was looking for a place to fix my transmission. They rebuilt it there,and it has been running great for the best price I could find! They have done all kinds of work for us after that on several different cars, and Im always impressed by their knowledge, explaining everything clearly,and exceeding my expectations on the quality of the work for a very fair price. They are awesome! They did a transmission flush on my 16 fusion and it runs like a beauty. They are honest and trustworthy. They will even tell you if they notice anything out of the ordinary on your inspection ! They were fast and efficient! I’m so happy I found my new mechanic

Excellent service! High quality work at affordable prices! I am new to the Elgin area and when my car constantly starting over heating this summer I wasn’t sure where to take it to have it looked at. Nor did I have any idea what the problem was. I started calling around to a few local shops. Most of them wanted cash up front to even look at! A friend of mine then recommended J & R Auto. They did a basic inspection at no cost. After about 45 minutes, one of the techs sat me down in the office and really took the time to break down the specifics of the issue with my car. He was helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They removed and replaced my water pump that same day and got me back on the road in no time. I will definitely go back there again, should anything go wrong with my car. Highly skilled and highly recommended!

If you need a quick repair for tires go there they have great customer service great people work in there and they know how to talk to people and that’s hard to fine at a mechanic shop they’re very good company to go to I will keep going there all the time for any repairs for tires

First time going here And it was a great experience! They went above and beyond in getting my Vehicle back on the road. They actually fixed it ahead of time from what they quoted me on, And it runs better than ever. Will definitely use them again and actually I’m going to take my other car there this week.

My husband and I are not from Elgin so we use referrals for everything. We used two auto repair services for last 4 years for the same problem on my husbands car. We again made an appt. To get my husbands car fixed for same problem. Engine light and speedometer. They couldnt schedule for almost 2 weeks out. We happened to drive by J&R auto saw their speciality signage and stopped. They took us the next day and we did not had any problems with his check engine light or speedometer and it was a fraction of what we pay the other auto repair service. Angel and Jose are thorough and professional. If you want quality work at reasonable prices dont go any further.

I’ve been bringing my jeeps here for years now. They’ve done things from fixing my rear differential and water pump, to fun things like installing cucaracha horns. Very trustworthy and great prices. Luis is always trying to find me the best deal on parts. He’s saved me hundreds by finding cheaper parts elsewhere. He also takes the time to explain the problem, and the different options I have available. I always leave the shop satisfied. I highly recommend this place.

They do great work here. I took a car in to get looked at and even though it was the end of the day and I didnt have an appointment they took the time to do a full inspection. They were super helpful and really informative.
