Wow, a great breakfast ! Although not on the menu, they happily provided this Georgia girl with grits. Service was wonderful, friendly and efficient. A nice welcome during the pandemic when many restaurants are struggling. Felt like old times. Thank You Coffee Mug !

This place is the heart of Elko! Even for being slammed, and short staffed everything came out fast and good. Cassie was our waitress when we visited. She was very sweet and welcoming. We had little kids with us and she was patient while taking their order. It was nice to have someone who understood children. From the outside it didn’t look busy, however the inside was full of hustle and bustle. You won’t be disappointed with this place. Everything was homemade and absolutely delicious.

I enjoyed their salad and the kids enjoyed their hot chocolate with whipped cream on it. Its just a very busy place and I believe they need space as well.Considering that its a relatively small town, I believe they can do better.Staff were nice too.

Traveling through Elko and wanted a good meal. Menu had breakfast, lunch and dinner choices that are served all day. Staff very friendly. Service good and quick. Restaurant very clean. Prices reasonable. Large portions.

Got the prime rib and New York steak -- super yummy and big portions. Service was friendly and super fast. Truly a great place Ive found in Elko and will come back again whenever Im in the area. For an American place the huevos diablos are a surprisingly good standout for breakfast. Most of the specials, menu and service also good. The banana cream pie is killer good unbeatable as are most of the deserts made by an old woman and you can buy whole pies for a good price.If they get their coffee to something worth ordering this place is a 5 star all day long.

Came in with 13 people unannounced (sorry!). Staff were extremely kind and receptive to our party size. Connie was an amazing server and food tasted excellent. Will come again if passing through!

The coffee mug is one of my favorite restaurants in Elko! The Basque Alfredo is especially delicious, and the desserts are great. Generous portions, friendly staff, and well-maintained.

Wonderful place to eat. Almost always bustling. The staff is very efficient in getting everyone seated in a timely manner. Portions are nice size and you get what you pay for. Nice variety on menu as well. Sometimes service is lacking, but they do their best considering how busy they are.

Its a pretty decent diner some days are better than others others I really didnt like their French fries and they made me some more but they still werent that great I like crispy

We had a wonderful breakfast! Although they were very busy, the wait was short and they made us feel as if we were the only ones in the building.

Always a great experience here. On weekends including Sunday dedicated go before 930 pm or a massive line up. They eveything under the sink omelet is huge, i can always never finish it. Coffee and pies are also definitely worth it.

This place was great. I had met my son for a weekend visit and we went here for dinner. There was no wait. It wasnt crowded, the staff was friendly, the food was great, and the price was way under what I thought $72 for 8 people, plus we left with boxes of food too. Will eat here again when Im in the area.

Fantastic service, the food was brought out quickly and the servers and other staff were super friendly. The restaurant itself is very clean with a friendly and inviting atmosphere. There are lots of booths and tables and its perfect for families of all sizes. We went for dinner so I cant comment on their breakfast options for now, but we got an array of dishes and lets just say some were better than others. The burgers were delicious and would recommend, but some of the Mexican dishes were mediocre and fairly small portioned relative to the price. However, it was only my first experience here and I enjoyed it so Ill definitely be back again to see if they can make it a bit more memorable.

Every time my family and I have come here, whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner, weve always enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the people. The food was good but our waiter was terrible. He took our order, brought us the food and didnt check on us at all. When he finally checked on us, he took our drinks to refill them and said hed be right back. He brought back two drinks and said that the two of us who had ordered iced tea would he another minute. I dont know how long we sat there, but we finally got up and my mom went up to the cash register where I watched him run to meet her there when he saw her. We hope that we never have that waiter again.

Road trip!We drove by Elko and stop to eat at this place. Food was great. Pretty cool local spot. Would recommend! Kids meals were really large. Our 4 and 7 year olds should of split one.

For a breakfast place, their breakfast was disappointing. The hash browns were clearly precooked and frozen weren’t any good. Their eggs and sausage weren’t great but were acceptable. The chorizo skillet was made with something like kielbasa, not chorizo, but it was good nonetheless. Their pancakes, on the other hand, were really good.The service was minimum effort but no major complaints their.More concerningly, they seemed to be taking almost no precautions to protect their employees and customers from covid-19. They were seating people at all the tables and booths, regardless of how close they were, and mask use was very lax.

I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was freezer burned and all the fish was very rubbery. Only able to eat 1/4 piece and even said something to the waitress she replied with oh ok and dumped my plate. I was not offered to order anything else and Even was charged for something that was not edible

I was expecting a bit more from this place. I will say that the food came out fast, but the hash browns were not that great. I also asked about the oatmeal which the waitress said was really good and that it is made daily. The oatmeal had obviously been made at least a day ago. It was cooked beyond recognition, which could not happen in a day, especially because I got there early in the morning. Plus, the oatmeal was lumpy (from obviously sitting in a refrigerator overnight) in some places and soupy in other places. The Coffee Mug gets 3 stars because it had average food. I wish there was a second set of stars for the help. Unfortunately, I wouldnt have given them of than 3 stars. Two for lying that the oatmeal was made daily but four for speed of service and pleasantness.

We started to go to the coffee mug for the last five years. Very great food. Service is great and those bus boys are amazing keeping UP with coffee.Tuesday is beef barley soup and that is the best soup. When we come to Elko we gotta go there.

Food is pretty good. Very busy. A local favorite definitely. Pancakes very good. Omelette and hashbrown average to good. (Everyone has different tastes about that) My only disappointment? The coffee was VERY mediocre. Staff is friendly, professional and absolutely superb and very hardworking.

We were seated immediately. The service was beyond. Our food was amazing! Everything came out hot and fresh! The turkey melt and sweet potato fries are delish and the chili was great! The waitresses were very attentive and great at their job. Highly recommend trying it out!
