Spenard builders have good consultant people. We had them help design our replacement deck with TREX and was very satisfied. It would be to their benefit to streamline the pickup department.

Well I came in there for paints on a prepaid order I was helped by many people and not in the awkward way but I want to give a special things to the flooring guy elderly gentleman very helpful very skinny very Above and beyond so whoever works in the back on the flooring department I just want to say thank you and appreciate the 1st responder discount So thank you spin art filters play I also want to mention 75% of all the lighting in the middle of the walkway right there great deal everybody get down there they got fans they get lights everything 75% off

In 2018 we spent 6 or 7K on windows here at Spenards. Got the Alpine windows, salesman raved about how great they are. So we bought them and installed them in our home. Then the winter comes and the windows start to warp. Measured about a 1/4 inch from the Frame to the glass. Went in and talked the the salesman filed a claim it’s been three years now and the windows haven’t been repaired. I have been in to the store multiple times over the last 3 years with the same song and dance. They did come out and apply a thin bead of silicone sealant( it was supposed to stop the problem) what a friggen joke!!!I told them it would not work, it didn’t!!!’ Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to buy your windows.The warranty company that they use told us that the windows are JUNK and I have to agree!!! Spenards was unhappy to hear that their warranty company told us information.So run as far as you can from this company there product is junk and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever delt with

I would prefer to shop here than the box stores, but every trip to SBS reminds me why it’s not worth worrying about.The newest experience: stopped by for a few supplies today. Almost every customer is masked, but no employees. You would think that would provide a strong enough message toget with the times, never mind what should be simple common courtesy (customer service?).The longer term experiences: some really good employees that are knowledgeable and helpful, but also some of the worst experiences I’ve had in town. Like, ordering fiberglass entry doors, getting metal ones instead. Call to inquire, get explanation of why I don’t need fiberglass doors. No apology. Hmmm, I guess the customer is always wrong.

More better than home depot if they have what you need in stock...................

Took our house plans to Spenards in 02/2020 because we wanted to be ahead of the game and knew we had a difficult house. We wanted ample time for them to engineer our house trusses. We were given a truss package quote in a few days. When we went to order them, they said they had a ton of problems and would have to fix it. After months of being ignored, which put our build substantiality behind, we switched companies which had all 158 trusses done in two weeks. We were constantly treated as an inconvenience unless we pulled out our credit card. We still havent heard back them about our trusses and its currently 9/26/2020. Ill never recommend them for anything to anyone. Highly disappointed. Seven months or horrible service.

Its a good place for youre building supplies. Special orders take a long time so brace yourself.

The guy that sells window is rude. Condescending and sarcastic. Made me feel stupid for walking in. Third time is a charm, never going back for windows.

My husband and I spent over 2 hours here trying to figure out what well be fencing our yard with. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and who could turn down free popcorn?!

Great store and great service

Call 8 times asking for vinyl soffit. I was told they were out of stock for 2 weeks. Finally went down there to check for myself and they had had it the entire time. Client was not happy about the delays.

We walked into Spenards, were first ignored by three wandering clerks and then we went to counter, where there were four people all laughing and talking.We stood awkwardly around for a minute, continued to be ignored and decided, lets get out of here.The ONLY person that took the time to even LOOK at us was the teenage cashier- she knew we were not happy- and she apologized for the whole store.THAT teenage girl should be the manager! SHE could help the rest of these guys realize that customer service is about the customer. She was sad that we werent happy, and that was the only interaction we got from ANYONE at the store.Anyways, we went to Lowes and were promptly greeted by a clerk and directed to where we needed to go. I like to support local businesses instead of the chain stores, but what can you do if you are being IGNORED?!?!? I waited a day until I cooled down, and called the manager. He was nice enough, but if his employees are this loose with the customers, he needs to start some training.You see a customer = you go help them. NOT that hard. Lowes has it down!

Forget the box stores, head to SBS where every employee that works there has total knowledge of what they sell. They can assist you in every detail of your home from door specialists, kitchen designers, custom home packages.

We have been waiting for months for a quote and still waiting. Kind of hard to do business here when everyone is apparently so overworked that they dont have time to provide timely quotes

I went to talk to a lady about counter tops. She didn’t appear to be interested in selling me the counter tops I was looking for. She quoted me 10,000 and only gave me two options to look at and seemed to hurry me out the door. I went with McKinley countertops out of anchorage and got exactly what I wanted for $8,000 plus installation and they gave me all of my possible options as far as colors and different corian options. The lady only gave me two corian options. Also didn’t bother to give me any other options it was almost like she had other more high dollar customers to attend to. Use McKinley counter tips they will give you a price break if you pay with a check and they come to your home to take measurement and give you more for your money.

Great service from people with experience in construction, plumbing and home renovations. And they have Excellent popcorn!

GREAT spot to get almost ANY profile lumber you need; the prices on tools are a little steep, but absolutely quality goods, and one of my five main sources for material in this town.

Spenards has superior materials selection to the made-for-new-jersey stuff you get at the big box stores. Perhaps you can get your major brand power tools somewhere else (or online) for cheaper but Spenards is better for lumber, windows, doors, and fixtures.

You might find a wider range of materials at a big box store but if you are actually building a home or entertaining a serious remodel and want materials which work well in our climate turn to the folks at SBS. From their custom door shop to their truss plant you will be well served by Spenards.
