You guys are the best and just one FYI. I used the online appointment request form for the first time. I requested a 10am appointment for emissions testing and my confirmation email failed to mention the time actually scheduled was 10:30 according to the nice gentlemen who checked me in. I forgot to bring my iPhone which had my email request so I never mentioned the appointment time change as I checked in. Accuracy is important especially if the time change had been more than 30 minutes. No big deal this time as I had the time to spend and always a nice environment to spend it in. You guys rock!

I brought a Chevy c7500 topkick in to get emissions tested. Houska was cheaper than any other places around for emissions testing, and they got me in right away. I had them check my tires and brakes for a long trip, with the impression that I needed 2 tires. They were very honest and informative with what I needed, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything, even though they easily could’ve. Highly recommend this shop, as well as Spencer for any commercial service or advice.

Houska are a great local company, now owned and operated by the 3rd and 4th generations! They are honest, sincere and thorough. I particularly appreciate the loan of a bike while they work in your car...time to cycle to Fort Collins Downtown and enjoy a coffee.Prices seem to be in line with the national chains except all the money stays in Fort Collins. I stopped in for an emissions test on my diesel truck, knowing it took an appointment. They said if I left it they would get it done, I could not leave it, so they made an appointment for me on Saturday the next. Who knew that was even an option. Friendly, happy, helpful, and willing. This is a great business to deal with.

I was visiting Fort Collins (from Texas) and noticed fluid leak from my truck on the driveway. I had known of Houskas for many years as many of the staff came into the the grocery store where I worked 40 years ago and trusted them. Although they were very busy,, the technician took a quick look at my truck and had me pop the hood. It turned out to be condensation from my A/C dripping onto the grime of my undercarriage. He suggested I might want to change my cabin filter. I made it back to Texas with no issues. Great people in 1978 and great people now.

I came in to get my tire monitoring system fixed and they told me that one of my tire sensors were out . They replaced it and told me it was solved but my tire pressure light still came on. I had to come back 4 times for them to try and solve the problem but the light was still coming on. At the fourth time I came in, my boyfriend had to tell them what to do in order for them to solve the issue. Why is it that others have to tell them how to solve an issue? We came in for them to do a job that we had to solve?! If not, they would have had me coming in a 5th or 6th time. It was a waste of time, and on top of that they were wanting me to pay for labor again?! Wow ! I did not pay for labor but still are you kidding? I had to argue with them for them to not charge us after having us come back 4 times and telling us to our faces that it was solved.

Great folks, timely scheduling and work, but always incredibly expensive, and it was disappointing to pay THAT much and find they had failed to reattach a piece of my parking brake tubing, leading it to ride against the tire and wear through the rubber casing. If youve got deep pockets and the time to go back, go for it.

They were able to change my 2 tires right away on a Friday afternoon! Definitely saved me! Thanks guys! Will Definitely use again if im in FT. Collins area!

I must have called a dozen shops trying to find one that would work on Motorhome Brakes. NO ONE wants to touch chassis work on RVs it appears. Houska was finally recommended and I called. I got in the next week ( They are booked a week or more out, because they are that good!) I had to sit there while they tried to diagnose the problem with the brakes. They narrowed the problem down to really dirty fluid which they flushed and then the Acuator Valve? was the most likely culprit. They also took off the rear wheels to check the rear drums and such. When they said it would take Hours and I declined, they took my suggestion to do that other first. Go from there.I spent the whole day at Houska. From 7:30 am when they opened until mid afternoon. I watched the operation and it runs like a fine tuned watch ok! They dont have to up sell you anything because they have 3 heavy duties behind you that need work. They greet customers and treat each other with great respect and personality. That made the biggest impression on me. The Vibe was good all day long. The Customers Service I witnessed on the phone and in person was top notch. Ken has great team sincerely interested in the customers best interest. I know he knows that but I wanted You All to know it too. Great Job! The only complain. Those black leather chairs are really uncomfortable! :)

Houska worked on my EFE valve to turn off the engine light. Picked up the vehicle and the engine light was still on. They had not connected the the lead to the sensor all the way. Quick fix, but irritating.

I appreciated the calls ahead of the work for approval, and the explanation of what was needed and why. Didnt try to sell what we didnt need (ie. One wheel bearing bad, not all 4). Professional, courteous, and work completed on schedule.

After checking the truck they called and discussed what was found and how to proceed, no surprises when the bill was payed.

Now here is a huge diamond in the rough. I literally never heard of Houska tire and service before I was reference there from 4rivers equipment. I was able to obtain some very odd tires and rims that Im sure, I would have had to wait at least 2 to 3 days. Great up front customer service, great over the phone experience you can tell the guys know their product. The tech Justin was awesome! Flipping tires with water in them with no regard just old school Hustle. Attention to detail by laying out a mat once he was ready to mend the tires to the rim, as to not get any contaminants inside the tire. Quality control by buffing out the inner rims that may have leaked because of corrosion build up. I had a good time going to Houska Tire and Service and would recommend them to anybody looking for anything related to a tire! They also have two other huge shops for servicing bigger equipment trucks Etc. I specifically was looking for backhoe tires, skid steer tires and a rim. I sense been back 2 more times. Service only gets better Justin is still flipping tires and the prices are very competitive. I expected to pay more just because of the urgency of my needs. That was not the case, big store competitive pricing great customer service what else do you need.

I came in to have my AWD diesel car emissions test done. It is difficult to find a place where this service can be done on a passenger car in NoCo.Houska Auto is an extremely well-run operation. The initial appointment call, the greeting at the desk, the timely scheduling, the clear reminder texts, the comfortable and welcoming environment, the pricing, and the work done are all superb! This is the way I would run a business!!

Got oil changes done here for years and they were great but they recently quoted us $2300 to change a clutch and had the nerve to hold our car hostage until we paid the $140 inspection fee.. We were the ones that told them we needed a new clutch and just wanted a quote. Other shop did it for $800. Can no longer recommend.

Ive found Houska employees to be honest fair, and timely. I have an old car that needed a new radiator system and some other hoses replaced back in September 2020. They did an excellent job. This time (March 2021) I came in for an oil change and they checked my battery as a courtesy. They clarified it was still working and I could wait--no upselling. But I knew the battery was close to dying so I chose to have it replaced. And they knew what kind of oil change would help my car--a combination of high mileage regular and some synthetic. Prices are reasonable. I like doing business with them.

I called around and got price quotes for a new set of tires from about 10 different companies. I wanted to go with Houska from the beginning but they were in the top 3 of the most expensive. However, after a few conversations with the lovely Vittoria and some price matching, it was decided I was getting my new tires from Houska! On top of that my drivers side rear tire was flat and I did everything in my power including going door to door asking a dozen neighbors if they had a compressor and I got nowhere! Vittoria was able to send a tech out and fill up my tire so I could get it to the shop! I would recommend Houska to anyone who wants a company that will go above and beyond!! They Fixed a button that didnt seem to be working by shoving a shim in it. And calling it fixed. Ive many stories of stuff like this about houska, well I guess its true. Houska will take your money and fix your vehicle. If thats how they fix some things, makes you wonder about the rest of tour vehicle

I called Houska today because I drove over snow and it pulled my skid plate off. I live in Tennessee and needed to get it fixed before my trip home after my wedding this weekend. The staff was so kind and got my car taken care of so quickly. I 100% recommend and would come with any of my car needs.

With great power comes great responsibility. I’m always happy and feel secure leaving Houska.This time around the goal was to fix a squeak on the passengers side, which I assumed was the breaks.I assumed it was the breaks and decided to go with the only mechanics I trust.They did their analysis, claimed the noise was a wheel bearing. Since they earned their trust with me I trusted them to fix it to get rid of the squeaky noise. They did claim it was a safety hazard and I’m happy they fixed it.When I picked up the vehicle it was still squeaking. They accepted the truck once again and found that the breaks the reason that squeaking

Ran diagnostics and performed repairs and general maintenance including brake flush, auto trans flush, radiator service, checking for leaks, etc., front differential service, and complete inspection. We picked up the car knowing it had been brought back to life and was now safe to drive.

The staff at Houska are always friendly, professional, and timely. My oil change is always done in 20-30 minutes.. as promised. Im not left waiting for hours as Ive experienced at *many* other places. They also have a rewards system for oil changes, and when they noticed I had several services without getting punches (because I kept forgetting my card :)), they gave me a new card and an extra punch. Great team. Great service.

Went in for diesel emissions...they were the only place willing and able to get us in some day...and did a VIN verification for us too...real friendly and easy going...cleanest shop Ive been to....then they did an oil change and replaced my fuel filters same day as well...which was a major bonus since I dont have a lot of free time to go back and forth for vehicle maintenance....and a Starbucks and several restaurants were about a block away....This is where Ill be taking MY truck from now on!!!

I had a coolant leak in a VW TDi. I went to Houska because I was told they have mechanics that work on diesels. I was hoping it was a coolant reservoir problem, but it ended up being a water pump. Not only did they fix the car, Toby worked with my after market extended warranty to cover a large portion of this expensive repair. They didn’t just replace the water pump but went the extra mile to replace the timing belt and tensioners for good measure since the were in the engine. I felt confident about the repair and will be taking my other vehicles to them as well.

Thanks for repairing my f250 and the great price and service. I will be referring houska to my friends 🙂

These guys can gals are awesome. They truly care about your cars well being. They are on top of communication and offer suggestions that fit the budget.

I had the check engine light come on for the fuel filler tube and related system and Houska replaced a valve. The check engine light came on again for the same reason about a month later and they diagnosed the issue and replaced the gas cap for no charge. The second fix was professional and handled well but the first part that got replaced was way overpriced - it was an $80 part and I was charged almost $300 for the part alone. I do appreciate Houskas willingness to fix the issue and their customer service.

I just moved to the area and had to deal with a series of serious repairs to my truck. The guys here took great care of me. They were very thorough getting to the source of my problems and were excellent about communicating with me during the whole process. The work they do is excellent and really stand behind it. They were super professional and fair. Their integrity and excellent service have totally earned my loyalty. Wont take my vehicles anywhere else.

My buddy and I took our old car here, very close to my house. And I thought they had a good reputation. They just quoted me $400 to replace 2 bushings, and on top of that told me the headlights didnt work because they didnt see the switch. I do not recommend anyone take their vehicle here

I brought two vehicles in to have them inspected. One was my current car, which they found needed quite a bit of work (which was expected) and were honest about what work needed to be done.I ended up buying a used car and they gave it a thorough inspection and found some issues that I was able to have the dealer fix before I purchased.Will use them again in the future!

Summary: 2 visits, over $1k spent, and Houska was not able to fix a simple issue.Came in the first time with an issue with my car turning off while driving. They checked batteries and other components and found nothing after 3 days. Took the car back and ended up stranded on I-25 a few days later with the same issue. Had it towed in and they resolved one issue. A few days after taking my car back after the second visit it died again. I did not return to Houska. Another mechanic was able to find a loose battery cable and tightened it. I’ve had no problems since.

They helped me quickly and for a good price. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the front desk associate was kind of unprofessional. Maybe she was having a bad day but it was uncomfortable to watch.

I gave one star because the service here was ... Lets say less than satisfactory. Said they could figure out the problem with my disabled fathers car, charged him for diagnosis of the issue, didnt fix anything, and i had to call a tow truck just to get it off the lot. Then purchased my father a new vehicle. Thank you very little Houska Automotive!!!
