I find it very difficult to pick out glasses and I was treated with great respect, given more than enough time and helped consistently 100% of the time! I have had glasses for 40 years and I have NEVER had such a wonderful and thorough eye exam in my life. Dr. Amy is amazing. She spent plenty of time with me, read my file and knew my previous exam history, and talked to me about options to help improve my vision. She made sure that I was going to receive new glasses that worked for me! The eyeglass/frames staff were TOP NOTCH and super helpful. They ordered frames for me that I liked since they did not have the brand that I wanted in stock. I got to try them on and pick my favorite. Service was outstanding. I will never go anywhere else!

Mountain View is the BEST. I have been seeing Dr. Greg for many years and my daughters saw Dr. Amy when they were younger. Both of them take their time with you and explain everything they are doing and what they are finding with their exams. I never feel rushed or that I am not getting the information I want. Also, their office is very professional but also warm and friendly. Never a grouchy person. Always smiles and attentiveness.

I thought my eyes had changed their prescription. The staff treated me with respect, and did the testing. The doctor pointed out what is likely the problem and was also very nice about it. While I was there, one of the staff members adjusted the stiff arm of my glasses at no charge. I recommend them highly.

They overcharged my insurance company and said my frames were not covered..I contacted the insurance provider only to find out the frames were covered.They then owed me a refund of $65.00It has been weeks still no refund! BUYER BEWAREMy plan had a allowance of $200.00 towards frames and lenses.When I called Superior Vision iwas told that they had submitted a bill for $175.00 for lenses only.They charged me the full amount for frames of$126.00 Does that make sense? Not the consumers fault, the issue was not acknowledged by them I did all the questioning of my Insurance, cause I knew they were wrong.

Wonderful experience for anyone with a high prescription (glasses with prism and contacts). These are good people. Dr. Amy Abel and Dr. Kelly German are great to work with. They take a conservative approach and provide you with all of the options to choose from - theyll find whats right for you and your budget. Theyre also very thorough. The other staff members are super friendly and good at following up. Highly recommend.

We had our first appointment here today and the facility was beautiful, the staff was kind, knowledgeable and the Dr was prompt and professional. Dr. Amy was excellent at helping my daughter feel comfortable and helped me to understand the findings of her exam! I am excited to have found this place!

Original Post : 6/26/2020 My wife went to this doctor and we enjoyed the medical visit. But when it came to payment it was a different story. We had visited before CO-VID19 and were paying them off. We had tried to call several times to pay our remaining balance of $25. Every time we called were greeted with a message that they were closed due to CO-VID19. I am glad they are taking the precautions to keep staff safe. When I finally did reach them they had already started the collections process!!! FOR TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! I ended up having to pay $56 because it went to Pre-Collection. I feel that this was absolutely ridiculous, glad I could stop them from pushing it all the way through to collections, before they attempted to ruin my credit.EDIT: 7/16/2020 Mountain View Eye specialists are totally incompetent when it comes to billing. I can see owner replied a week after my comment, they may have been in Office but I never received any phone calls or mail. Anytime I called the phones were busy. They also point out quite rudely that its NOT collections, but it IS AN EXTRA $30. I had paid my bill on the same day as my original post, and today, (3 weeks after I paid them the full $56) I got the first ever communication from them demanding the money I already paid. I will not be returning ever. If you do visit here, pay them before you leave otherwise it is a nightmare.

What an incredible team that the Abels have put together. I wear specialized loupes for my professions. Within 20 minutes they had it fixed. Their attention to detail and expertise is unparalleled in their profession. I can not thank their whole team enough.

Document all conversations/interactions regarding billing with Mountain View! I paid a bill over the phone in December. They did not process the payment and want me to pay the late fees accrued because of their mistake. Ive called to talk to them 3 times and I get the run around and a whole lot of denial of responsibility.

When I first went here I would have given four or five stars. The doc I saw there was amazing, loved her. However my mind changed today. I went in WITH MY MASK ON because they asked so I did. I picked out a few glasses and was told I could not take the mask down to see which I liked. So I narrowed them down and asked again “can I take down my mask to look”. I was told NO the mask must stay on at all times. I was suppose to pick out glasses with the mask on? I can’t make that important of a decision when I can’t even see because the fogging up because of the mask! I’m not spending $300 blindly are you kidding me! Don’t go here. I called almost all other places from Foco to Greeley and the my all let you take masks down to look at your glasses in the mirror. Spend your money where they actually care.READ AGAIN AND FOR SURE NO STARS - Do not try to make me look like the bad guy.THEY JUST REPLIED TO MY POST AND TRIED TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE I WAS NOT FOLLOWING THE MANDATE! I WORE A MASK AND FOLLOWED ALL THE RULES!!!!!! DONT MAKE ME OUT TO BE THE BAD CUSTOMER, THAT IS REALLY EVEN MORE TERRIBLE OF YOU.I WAS DOWN TO THREE CHOSEN GLASSES AND SHE SAID I COULD NOT TAKE DOWN THE MASK FOR NO REASON! NO REASON! I was truly pleased with my exams at Mountain View. Even in the midst of the COVID-19 restrictions, they prove to be caring, professional and friendly. I especially appreciated the explanation and time spent with me allowing me to ask questions and receive full responses. I look forward to returning in the future.

Unprofessional. Could not go back with our son for appointment and then they discussed results in waiting to with other patients present. They should evaluate this process and pull you into a room to discuss results.

We were discussing the $30 co-pay charge and told them our co-pay VSP insurance only $10 and not $30, however the charges were billed as medical and not thru our VSP insurance. In the process of trying to resolve the $30 co-pay with our insurance the office kept charging us late payments and moved our bill to a collection agency with a total of $90 charge, 3X the original bill, what a rip off. They know that we were talking to them and trying to resolve the $30 charge thru VSP/Anthem medical insurance, but those weasels kept piling up the charges with no respect to their patient, unethical.

Five stars plus! Close parking, warm, welcoming office staff, pleasant, nicely appointed waiting area, accompanied by a variety of reading materials and beverage availability. Its the details. Then there is every latest machine equipped and thought possible to examine eyes, manned by both super knowledgeable, reassuring staff and guess what...two of the best doctors I could ever hope for. Cheery, comforting, yet precise, discussing problems, if any, and solutions with assurance and ease. And their solutions have been and continue to be most successful for both my husband and me. What is not to love about this group.

Greg Abel performs excellent diagnoses and does not mind answering my many and rather nerdy questions. The office is well-quipped with modern devices. The staff is knowledgeable, polite and capable. Prices at the in-house dispensary are reasonable, and the quality of eye-wear is excellent.

For nearly a decade Dr. Greg has kept my eyes healthy and clear. Last year he told me it was time for cataract surgery, and I followed his advice. The outcome is amazing. For the first time in my adult life I have 20/20 vision and I can definitely see clearly now! Its a pleasure to visit my friend once a year and know that my vision is in good hands.

I’ve been seeing Dr Greg for almost 25 years and he is in my opinion one of the best optometrists in town, especially when it comes to him providing detailed and understandable comments on your exam and any diagnosis that he may have. He is SUPER thorough. He is kind, funny, warm, and couldn’t be better. I was there yesterday to pick up two pairs of glasses. I worked with Leshelle (sp) — whom I have not met B4...she was really nice, funny, competent, and helped me get my glasses adjusted and get everything seeing well. One pair had an issue...So I have to return next week so I have to return next week and I very much look forward to working with her again. Mtn View gets 100% in my view.I also saw Dr. Kelly German today and everything I said about Dr. Greg Abel is exactly weird with Dr. Berman. She was absolutely wonderful… Explained everything… Was thorough… Was humorous and with wonderful bedside manner (just like Dr Greg!)… incredibly knowledgeable… And was willing to dive into the technical and medical aspects of the reason that I was seeing her. TEN stars!!

We first became familiar with them through Dr. Amys vision therapy practice.After a terrible experience with a provider in Cheyenne, Wyoming, we drove an extra hour (one way) every week to Ft. Collins to complete our sons vision therapy. It was completely worth it, and we have now moved the eye care for our entire family of 7 to Mountain View Eye Specialists.The combination of friendly service, professional expertise, and first class eye care are exceptional. If I could, I would give them 6 stars out of 5. I only wish they would open a practice closer to where I live in Nebraska!

I absolutely love Mt. View Eye Specialists. They are so attentive, caring, organized, and dedicated to providing excellent patient care. I went to Mary for vision therapy and she essentially changed my life. She realized that one of my eyes was actually turning off when I was reading. My reading rate went from the 30th percentile to the 99th. I cannot believe how easily and fast I can read now. She is amazing. They also have a wonderful selection of frames and different types of lenses to help reduce the impact of blue light (that is emitted from the screens many of us look at all day). In summary, if youre looking for an eye doctor or you want to go to vision therapy, I highly recommend them!!

Dr. Amy takes her time and provides excellent feedback and diagnosis. My wife was setup with cataract exam and surgery with another doctor, but changed her mine after I had my surgery and in her talking to other Dr. Amys patience getting the surgery done the same day as mine. Mountain View Eye Specialists were great, I really like Dr. Amy Abel, but I will not be buying glasses from here again. My husband and I paid almost $1000 for glasses and mine sit crooked on my face. I was told that they can’t be adjusted. My husband’s lens fell out within the 1st month of having them. I really appreciated Mountain View replacing the lenses. But the area around the screw is all scratched and I heard the staff in the back talking like we were lying about what happened with them. I’m really disappointed with my experience and don’t plan on going back.

Sat in the waiting room for an hour waiting for my appointment, while people who were scheduled long after mine was had to wait maybe 10 minutes. And their excuse was they were waiting for a room to open. Id give zero stars if I could, the absolutely worst experience Ive had at an eye Care specialist.

Over the past 8 years, our family has seen Dr. Greg and Dr. Amy Abel at Mountain View Eye Specialists. Both are very knowledgeable and caring doctors. They use up to date technology and knowledge in their practice to ensure that we receive the best eye care possible. I love this place! After many years going elsewhere, I found Mtn View Eye after a car accident that caused a brain injury. My glasses are the best quality I’ve ever had, the Chemistrie magnetic sun protection help immensely with the light sensitivity and I never need to wait around for customer service. Mary, their vision therapist, is amazing. Not only does she have all the right tools and knowledge, but she’s very personable, patient and easy going.

Greg, Amy, and the rest of the staff at Mountain View Eye Specialists are great! They really care about your well being and dont just try and get you to get the most expensive products. They were very patient with me as I wasnt sure if I wanted to start wearing contact lenses again. They worked with me for several weeks and let me try multiple types of contact lenses free of charge!

Ive been going to see Dr Amy for 12 years. She broke my spell of years of nonstop migraines. She has patiently tried all kinds of thing with my eyes and understands how sensitive they are. The right glasses gave me my life back. I did not pay for changes or adjustments with prescriptions when it wasnt quite right, so Im rather shocked by a couple of these reviews. Amy gave me my life back. I drive from two hours away to continue seeing her since I have moved.

As an update to this review done four years ago--all I can say is the level of competence, care and support of Mountain View Eye Specialists is beyond compare and my gratitude is immense--been with them since 2002. My family and I have been patients of Mountain View Eye Specialists since we moved to Fort Collins 14 years ago and without a doubt, Amy and Greg are the best and most thorough eye doctors we have ever worked with--what is also impressive is the staff which all of us interface with often--from Connie at the front desk to Cheryl who does some of the tests to everyone on their team, we feel listened to, cared about and taken care of in numerous ways. Their facilities are wonderful, their selection of eye wear is great and their willingness to keep learning about the latest research for their patients is remarkable. I recommend them highly.

I have been a patient for several years and only recently have had a negative experience. The medical side of things were good; the front desk staff was friendly however once I sat down with an eyeglass specialiast things fell apart. The woman rolled her eyes when Dr Amy asked the employee to assist me, she was unfriendly and made sure I knew I was inconveniencing her. I felt so uncomfortable I requested a print out of my perscription to take elsewhere. Again more comments about the effort this would take and lots of sighs and eye rolls. I then went to Americas Best to fill the percription; they had 1 quick question that took 6 days and multiple phones to Mountain View from myself and Americas Best before they would answer what was required to fill my persciption. I felt I was given the run around as punishment for not filling my perscription there. This was honestly such a bad experience I dont suggest anyone doing business with them. It is unfortunate that one bad employee can derail the years I was there.

Not only have they provided great basic eye care for years for my family, but they have caught other health issues during eye exams that our primary care providers had missed. Both our daughters did vision therapy with them during their younger years, and it made a world of difference in their school work.

Drs. Greg and Amy Abel are outstanding eye specialists. Their equipment and office are up to date and their employees are great. We are very happy we found them about 3 years ago.

As a Practice Manager for a medical business, I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Mountain View. Drs. Abel have taken care of my children and my husband for several years and we have never received anything except the very best of care and the highest level of personal attention. Most recently, Kelly and Kylie assisted me with a complicated scheduling issue and both were consummately professional, cheerful, and knowledgeable. I had no sense that they felt impatient or put out. Rather, both were beyond gracious and went above and beyond to help in our situation. Thank you for your wonderful care. Look out, Drs. I have worn glasses most of my life and have never been to an office that was as poorly run as this one. I went for my annual checkup and was given a prescription for glasses and contacts. I then proceeded to get my glasses prescription filled only to find out that I could not see clearly out of my left eye. I went back to the office and made an appointment for a recheck. I went to the office at my appointment time and was told that I did not have an appointment. I would have been fine with a reschedule because mistakes do happen. However, the front desk ladies attitude was very rude and no apology was given at all. Mind you that I had dragged my one and four year old with me, so this was inconvenient to say the least. Eventually I showed back up to the recheck and Dr. Abel found the tech had entered my prescription into the computer incorrectly. However THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE LENS, and told me I was on my own to pay for their mistake. They have no accountability for their mistakes and I am just glad I did not purchase a years worth of contacts with this incorrect prescription. I will never go back nor will my family. You should be able to trust that a doctor will stand behind their work and prescriptions! All they had to do was pay for ONE lens to be redone! I guess it was worth it to them to lose 4 patients instead.

I brought both my teenage daughters to see Dr. Amy Abel. I have never had such a bad experience getting eyeglasses. They were both examined on two different days one daughter complained her eye moved inward when she was tired and the other had other vision issues. She told one to see a primary care physician because she could have a brain tumor, MS, or Parkinsons & told the other she could have a brain tumor. Both girls were given prescriptions that made their vision worse than without glasses. We were told to give them a week for their eyes to adjust. Their eyes were so blurry they couldnt function at school and work. This went on for a month. We went in repeatedly to discuss our disfatissaction and they changed the prescription but at this point we felt like it was a guessing game. We decided it was best to get another Drs. opinion. The lady working in on the retail side of the office was extremely rude and could have cared less that we wasted a lot of money to get lenses that did not work. She did not offer any solutions and did not care that I was clearly not happy. She laughed when I told her I was going to give a poor yelp review. I feel like we did not get the product we paid for. This would be a zero rating if it was an option. I will be sure to tell my friends to avoid this place.
