Bruce is a knowledgeable gunsmith. Hes a no nonsense guy and knows his trade. Anyone put off by his demeanor is looking for a relationship instead of a skilled craftsman. Id take any of my arms to Bruce for work. Bruce is one of the most competent and easy to deal with gunsmiths in the Northern Colorado area.

Active Arms is a great gun shop!! Mark is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I drove over an hour to get there and the trip was very worthwhile. A special thanks to Mark for all his help...I will visit them again!

Bruce, Mark and Janet are the most knowledgable gun people you will ever find. They are the most honest and fair people I have ever done business with. If you need a gun fixed, valued, bought or sold these people are the best there are.

A few weeks ago I visited Active Arms with a number of questions. One question involved removing barrels from two bolt action rifles. I was quoted a price. When I returned, I expected the work to take some time..... days! When I took the rifles out of the case, Bruce disappeared into the back. Removing rifle barrels can involve grumbling and swearing and time. I didnt hear a thing. Very quickly he returned and asked if he had quoted a price and returned the actions and barrels! All Done! He honored the price he had quoted, which was apparently less than his price list. Wow! If I need gunsmithing done, I now know where to go!

I stated I was there to look and wanting to buy reloading supplies in the future when I was ready (I dont have my press attached to the stand yet). I was very interested in getting powder and I loved the selection for holsters and cases. I was as respectful and friendly as I could be. We only spoke for a few minutes and the owner just seemed a bit grumpy. I am new to reloading, and recently ordered a press off Amazon. The owner told me he didnt appreciate me coming in to gain knowledge from him while I order off the internet. I can appreciate the honesty on his part but making statements like that is not good for getting business from future customers. I will look for reloading supplies elsewhere.

Employees are all friendly and very helpful, especially Mark. Bruce is awesome and very knowledgeable, and makes a great teacher, especially when youre learning about reloading. His grouchiness does not bother me, Im a little grouchy myself and I grew up with the biggest grouch in the Midwest, my father! LOL!!!

This place had terrible customer service not to mention their prices are very high... Well above MSRP on most of their weapons. I am particularly upset because the owner/gunsmith is very obnoxious. I had called a week before I brought my firearm in to be worked on at which point he had told me not to bring it in until after next Tuesday so when I showed up on Thursday I was informed the gunsmith had gone on vacation for the next 2 weeks at this point I thought that was poor planning on my part should have brought it on Wednesday I guess.... Anyhow I brought it in again today and when I asked if the gunsmith was there he walked out and then I mentioned I had my firearm with me which we had previously discussed and he stated not interested I drove over an hour to get there and all I get is a 2 word response? This is extremely unprofessional I WILL NEVER GO BACK and I recommend you dont either

Came in looking to buy a fishing license (they have a sign on the door saying they sell them here next to the VISA/MC/Discover sticker). The old lady behind the counter didnt know how to work the machine and suggested I come back another day when another guy was around. So, I did. Came back a few days later and this time both she and he were there. I asked to buy a license and he told me he could sell one but it would have to be cash or check. No cards.Obviously they just want to lie and make excuses so they dont have to actually do work. I decided to go somewhere people arent lazy.

I spent Saturday looking for impossible to find reloading brass and other components. I was told by other stores that Bruce was the man to see. Sure enough, after a little negotiation, I had what I needed at solid prices. Hes got my future business.
