My unit was burglarized and I wouldnt have known about it had the police not pulled over the guys who took my stuff, and had I not labeled my equipment with my information. I would have just went to get it one day and it not be there. The guy who was there helped me as best he could, but Im left feeling like Extra Space Storage isnt really concerned about it, I had no reassurance that they would take measures to stop this from happening again.My advice is to invest in an additional lock that cant be cut, visit the unit periodically to make sure my stuff is still there, and hope for the best. The guys who did this had 2 UHAUL moving vans FILLED with other peoples stuff from storage units. Who knows how many other people are sitting at home tonight not knowing that their storage unit was burglarized, and a company that may or may not be doing anything about it. I got my stuff back, but my peace of mind is gone.I switched units today and will be moving to another storage facility unless someone from Extra Space can give me SOME reassurance that they will take measures to keep this from happening again.I cant help but think that this might have been an inside job, because how else would they have known that MY unit had valuable items in it? I pressed charges, but I hope Extra Space finds out who did it and they prosecute accordingly.

RENTER BEWAREMy family’s storage unit was broken into at this facility and items were stolen, priceless family heirlooms. This happened between the days of 11/9/2020 - 11/14/2020. Our lock was cut off with cutters and there was a company gold lock left on our unit that signals the unit is ready to be cleaned out, why we don’t know seeing as we’ve been paying on time always. This facility claims to be extremely secure when in fact, doors are left open and there are only cameras at the front entrance of the facility, none in the hallways and management knows there are break-ins often. After calling the police and speaking to them, they agreed with what management said about break-ins. This facility also made very little contact to alert us that our unit could have been broken into to. They called my fathers line, who recently passed away and the line is no longer in service, but chose to NOT SEND US AN EMAIL notifying us of this potential dilemma when they wouldnt even let me mother get any information on the unit until we sent an email from my dads personal email even though she explained he died in September but they will certainly take your money and let you pay for the unit! Weve been customers at this facility for years and since this Extra Space company took over it seems that it has steadily declined. We were never notified of the take over by this new company by phone or email, we had to go over and ask what happened as we were trying to pay for the unit and could not. After going to the facility they finally explained and we got a mailer 2 weeks later. The whole point of this review is to notify future renters that this place is not as secure as it looks and you should consider finding another facility.

Great customer service. The place is very clean and the layout is great. I had no problem at all getting a unit, learning the procedure for unloading, and packing my things away.

While many reviews are positive I must strongly warn you.... DO NOT PUT ANYTHING THAT YOU VALUE AT THIS FACILITY! My unit was broken into. Someone used cutters to break my lock and went through my belongings. The unit was ransacked! To make matters more interesting a lock was placed on the unit which was “gold” an extra space storage lock signally employees that the unit was vacated and needed to be cleaned. Interesting to me that the crook had the knowledge to use a “gold” extra space designated lock. To top it off, they tried to contact my husband to let us know that there was a possible break in, unfortunately my husband had passed away a few weeks prior and his phone was disconnected. They had his email as a back up. I would think if you can’t reach someone by phone you would try to contact their email. Nope! The only way I found out about the break in was me actually going to the facility on a Sunday and noticing my lock was gone. I had no way to access my unit. No one to call on Sunday because they are closed in the office. I called and left messages at three different numbers that were provided and nothing. I had to call the next morning and inquire about the situation. After speaking with the police it was brought to my attention that this is a frequent problem at this facility. They have cameras at the point of entry but NOT in the hallways or any directed at units. THIS IS A HUGH PROBLEM! Your stuff is not secure or protected.

DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE THEY WILL BE STOLEN. After our unit was broken into we discovered that this place conveniently has no security. They are more concerned with their office than your things. Doors are open. Cameras are inoperable or nonexistent. We were not notified about the break in, in fact law enforcement told us this business is a victim of theft quite often. After enquiring about compensation for our belongings they offered to lessen our next months fee... I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY ARE PROPERLY INSURED, how could this offer be acceptable. If you would like to see your belongings again choose a more secure facility.

Was charged for an extra month despite being assured that I was checked out. When I called back I was assured I would receive a refund for this extra month. I have still to receive the refund. I have never had such poor communication or resolution of mistakes made with a storage company.

This place came highly recommended from a friend of mine. I reserved my unit online, which was super easy. I was called to come in and make sure the unit was the size I needed, which I appreciated immensely, because I have a lot of crap. I came in to see my unit last week and was treated with the utmost kindness from Arlene at Extra Space Storage, she showed me the reserved unit and gave me all the deets I needed to know in order to move forward with the rental. The location is perfect and Arlene is just fab! Highly recommend.

Being forced to put my things in storage was stressful, however Jay accommodated me and helped ease some of the concerns I had. He walked me through the entire process and answered literally EVERY question I had and there were many 😭😭 Hopefully I’ll be able to remove my things in a few months but if not at least I feel comfortable.

The place is clean, plenty of carts. LONG way from the front to my space. The quote a low price. But then the insurance, which is normal. What is unusual is the $24 admin fee. Your admin fee is the rent I pay every month. Still, convenient, very nice staff.

Had a storage unit broken into and wasn’t even NOTIFIED! And once we brought it to there attention and called the police to go over the items stolen, the management team came up short with “there’s nothing we can do”. For a place that has security/cameras, be warned they are only at the front, and not at the actual storage units. After giving this company business for years, they couldn’t even offer help with a free month, or even a apology. Unprofessional, lack of communication, and just lack of being decent people.

Arlene was a true professional. We showed up 10 minutes prior to closing and she welcomed us in and we were able to rent a unit. The place is clean ans organized. She walked us through the process and we were in and out in 30 minutes. Highly recommended and would use again.

Friendly staff, temperature control is consistent, pity so many carts have been stolen, you now have to go into the office to check one out. That means that you cant get carts after hours

I was very skeptical of all storage facilities. In the last month I’ve driven and visited several. I decided to complete my rental with Extra Space Storage for the convenience and customer service provided. Lucas was my original agent who took me on a facility tour and provided answers to my questions. On my way out I met the facility manager Arlene who took the time to speak with me and reassure me that her facility is the right option for me. She went out of her way to ensure I was confident and satisfied. Customer service requires an individual who knows and understands their role and individuals who seek opportunities to help and serve those in need. It’s not something that is taught and it’s obvious when it’s forced. Arlene is a true asset to the ESS company as well as the numerous persons who utilize her facility! The office and public areas are spotless. Robert, at the desk, was well informed and a great help. He set me up quickly with a unit just the right size and showed me around. The units are standard sizes one encounters in most places. The one I rented had been thoroughly cleaned and was ready to go. There is a loading dock, a walk-in entrance and a spacious elevator. Supplies, like locks and boxes, are available in the office.
