David, Matt, Shonda, Skip, and Noah are the most amazing employees. Most recently, I brought my car in for service because it was not starting. I told Shonda that it was my only vehicle, and she was very understanding of my situation. So they made an effort to do a full check of my vehicle and make sure that everything was okay. And even after that they took the time to put air in my tires after noticing that they needed air.

Perfect team! Best auto services for any kind of cars, trucks or suvs. I would really recommend the whole team for making me happy. Visit them and you guys will see the magic. In and out on time. Thank you so much.

Get a second quote before doing any work here. They will over charge you. Double what a local shop will. I put about $2000 of work in and a few months later all my problems returned. They took no ownership. The only person who offered to help me quit so I was stuck with a staff that pushed my problems to the side instead of admitting fault. Don’t go here. Use a local shop.

Ive been having a couple of my classic street cars serviced here @ Pep Boys since moving to Frederick over 20 years ago. Im VERY Particular about the cars, & have found the techs & all the management, employees, to be not only knowledgeable, but accommodating, going out of their way to make sure nothing is over looked, & double checked just to be sure its all right! Prices are great as well! Ive shopped there in the retail part, & am sorry to hear that part is closing to make room for the exspansion of a much larger repair facility, to accommodate even more work bays. I had an appointment on Tuesday at 10am for the basic oil change. I got there in time. The woman at the entrance, who pretended to be the manager, took my car key and told me that the car would be ready in half an hour. I came back in 45 minutes and I waited for her to notice me. he said that someone came who smelled bad ... various tampons. I asked him to give me the key and he replied that the car was not made, that my plan for oil was not good and to pay $ 30. I called my husband and he wanted to talk to her, the woman did not accept. In the end she gave me the key and I left, without an oil change. and why the plan is no longer good and before it was. A man answered the phone, said that I can go by car on the 2nd day at 12pm. I arrived at 11.45 and I was told that I had to wait 2 hours. I was very upset. Because with the appointment you can stay so long. I came back after 2 hours and I was told that the car is not ready. I stayed another 20 minutes, outside where the temperature was at 100F, because I wanted to stayon the chair in the next room, where I sat every time, but again the woman, with a fake smile, told me that it is closed there for some time .. The staff spoke to me very coldly and indifferently. I had a very bad with this shop.

Nick and his team did a great job taking care of my car. All team members that I came in contact with were courteous, the repairs were done in a timely manner, and the final total came in lower than the estimate provided. Cant ask for anything better than that!

I went to PEP BOYs in Frederick today for an oil change. I had prompt and courteous service. I would recommend them for auto service.

Buyer BEWARE! The customer service rendered by the employees was very good, however the assessment of my vehicle is the reason for their this review. I had my car towed there because the coolant ran hot. After the diagnosis was run, I was advised that the vehicle failed a CO2 test and as a result I either had a cracked engine block or blown head gasket, so Id need a new engibe. This is a 2016 vehicle that has been meticulously maintained by Ford dealerships, so this did not sound logical, but Im no expert. I had the car towed to the Ford dealer and it was found that my car needed a water pump. New engine vs. water pump... you do the math! Whether this was a case of incompetence or fraud, I dont know, but I will never patronize this business again. Avoid at all costs for major repairs!

Nick and the mechanics gave me a great experience overall. I was able to drop off before the appointment, got a text with a rundown of what needed to fix, and a call soon after to give me an estimate. Not only that, but the car was fixed well before they said it would be and they were able to lower the overall bill a little bit too. Fantastic experience overall!

My daughter and I were traveling from Iowa to Baltimore and badly damaged a tire. The guys at Pep Boys were very helpful and got her car in quickly. They gave advice on where to find the specialty tire we needed and made sure the spare tire was tight and aired up well before sending us on our way. They didn’t charge me anything for their time. Thank you SO much from a couple of Iowans!

Absolutely horrendous. Made an appointment and when I showed up early they told me it was more important for them to unload a truck of new tires them to help me. Then told me their next availability would be in a week. The lady “helping” me said get over it your truck is not more important than us unloading our inventory. Do not go here people.

We got a flat tire about 7 miles from Frederick, MD. I got a tire mounted on the rim at another store, but they were unable to put it on my vehicle (which I needed because I couldnt drive the additional 40 miles on the donut spare). I called Pep Boys and they said bring it in. It was 5:30pm on a Saturday and it was extremely busy, but Dave the service manager made room for me and got the wheel on my vehicle in about 5 minutes. Great/friendly service and a life saver for us.

NIck and his crew have been super helpful and knowledgable. They took the time to explain what was needed and why. Work was well done and on time.

My family’s camper had two tires blow out on us on a trip, put the only spare on the first time. The second time we took the old tire to pep boys snd they had one ready to install and saved our trip. Great store

You need to have a better phone experience. I just called multiple times with no way to speak to a live person at your local branch. Incredibly disappointed.

Got a really good deal on some tires for my Toyota. Love them so far and the install went very smoothly.

Had all 4 wheels and tires replaced, quick and a great deal. Hayden did an awesome job, no problems at all, and explained that due to different wheel size I may need to get my speedometer re-calibrated and to be careful with my speed until then!

They seemed short staffed but were very personable and were concenscious about my wait. Fyi if you didnt know already the store is closed on Sundays but the service part is open. Several vehicles pulled in to go to the store part while I was waiting for my car.

Booked an appointment to replace my tires. Showed up to it a week later and they didnt have the tires I ordered and the guy could not care less. I asked if they had other tires that they could put on my car instead, but they said they did not. I had a very common car, Toyota corolla. Left and immediately took my car across the street to Mr. tire and got new tires put on within an hour.

Made an appointment online for 6p for a basic oil change. Showed up and was told they’re too busy and to come back tomorrow. There was no phone call or message to say they were busy and to reschedule. Save your time and go to any of the other shops on the golden mile where they do honor appointments.

I found my new favorite service center in Frederick! I needed a new battery, Nick thoroughly tested my old battery, installed a new one, tested it again to make sure it worked, and I was gone in 30 minutes! I know things won’t always get done that quickly, but I got lucky today and Nick was awesome! I would highly recommend the Frederick PepBoys and Nick!

I came in late last night w/ my two kids for a new battery (my car died and I had to get a jump just to get there) and David + Nick took care of it for me, even with a long line. They squeezed me in and got my battery changed within 20 minutes. Great customer service! Thank you!

Went in for tires, already a great deal (buy three get one free) they found some issues that the dealership apparently kept quiet about.Not only did they quickly mount and balance four fantastic quality tires, but went above and beyond to fix the other issues so I can safely keep driving.5 stars arent enough! The front desk gentleman was a great help, but the diamond of Pepboys Frederick is definitely David Connelly and his crew.

I had front tie end rods and alignment done here on the same day. Two weeks later my car was driving funny. Took it to a shop closer to home, they told me the alignment wasn’t done correctly and the tie end rods were loose. Called to ask for a refund and was told I should have brought the car to them to fix. I live 30 minutes from the shop. I didn’t feel safe driving it there. The lady kept talking over me as if we were arguing and hung up on me. Disgusting.

Nick was helpful from start to finish even though I had major issues with the car and have a bad head gasket.Nick walked me through the whole process of how they tested the coolant system to what they had found.Thanks for all the help NIck..

This Pep boys are the best in the business. I was from out of town and in need of a tire, which was a very urgent favor to ask considering they were almost closed. But they took care of me after bending over backwards and stay after hours to get the tire I needed so I could get back on the road. I also want to thank Ms or Mrs SHANDA!!! for understanding the situation I was in and doing the best job she could do and even giving me a deal. She is the best at what she does!!

I work in Frederick but live about 45 minutes away. I left work at 5:15 and I found out I had a huge screw in my tire. I called 3 tire places, including Walmart, all turned me away. Pep Boys was on my list but 5 miles farther, I called Pep Boys and Tony answered. He immediately told me to come over and they would take care of me. 40 minutes later I was fixed (12.33) and on my way home. Thanks Tony! Thanks to Pep Boys!!

Couldnt find Moog suspension parts at the 2 big auto parts chains, but pepboys had em and at a great price. They had the part brought to the local store quickly too. Very happy with that part of it and they have quite a good selection not parts at the store, but the service there could have been better. Staff was friendly, but things were moving a little slow. It wasnt real bad, but I dont think it deserves 5 stars. I would definitely go again.

At this point, your competition is fierce. You need a better online experience. I needed parts today. Pep Boys didnt even stock a cabin air filter for an Elantra. I dont need fuzzy dice. I need essentials. The service, however, was great.

I have mixed feelings about pep boys to be completely honest . my dad has had my car for 14yrs . he does all the work on it himself he never took it to a shop . the car rides beautiful . never had no problems was in a minor car accident in 2016 n just needed a front end alignment . i decide to take my car to pep boys last friday for a front end alignment and by sunday my car is overheating 🤔 now has a crack in the radiator ? Thats a big coincidence .

During a long distance commute, a piece under my vehicle dropped and began to break appart as I was driving. In a panic I pulled Into the nearby Pep Boys to get it looked and within minutes, one of the employees named Nick, took it in and had the situation resolved so that I could get back on the road with peace of mind.

This is by far the best Pep Boys I have ever been too! Nick and his team worked on my brakes its quickly and as proficiently as possible. I was visiting my family from out of state and my brakes went out! They got me in got my car fixed and on the road the very next day. Had to have my daughters battery checked in her car. Both guys in service area were helpful. One went and checked the battery in the car. My daughter had said she went somewhere else and already had it checked and was told it was no good. Had PB check it anyway, guy was explaining the voltage and agreed it was no good. Inside we were given the price of a couple batteries, went with one of the cheaper ones, there was no hard sell or forceful push to something else. Also, wanted to have the oil changed, quoted a price for both battery and oil change, was given $20 discount on oil change. We were told an hour, so we went to lunch and 45 minutes later we were told it was done. We were told they would do a courtesy check of the vehicle. Most places I dont believe do their 26 point service they claim. We went to pick up the car, paid and just asked had they found anything. We were told the rear wiper was no good, and it wasnt. Which lead me to get the wiper, couldnt figure it out, but the guy at the register on the other side tried to help me. He was very helpful. I am in Montgomery county, you dont find that kind of service around here. Good place, good service.

Took my 2001 GMC Yukon because my friend used peps boys forh er and his cars and told me to give it a try, the staff goes out of the way to make a problem fixed. I will come back again for future maintenance stuff. well wort the drive from hagerstown

I made an appointment today for a vehicle state inspection today for my vehicle that I purchased recently. There were two people ahead of me in line so I waited patiently of course, I go up to the counter when it was my turn to talk to the mechanic or service employee when I tell them that I’m here for my appointment for my state inspection for my vehicle. They tell me that I cannot be serviced due to them already having 4 State inspections being done. I was upset and felt it was very unprofessional of them to not have the courtesy to call me ahead of time to tell me this before I even made the trip to their shop. I also felt as if they should not take appointments and then not service them. I took the day off of work for this to be done and have never experienced this ever when making an appointment at any auto mechanic shop. I will probably not come back to this shop again. They should be mindful of how many appointments they are making for certain things, but at the end of the day it was unprofessional on how they handled it.

Ive been getting my tires and some of my automotive repairs done at Pep Boys for years. It has always been my go-to tire place. Unfortunately their level of service has gone way downhill. The last 2 times Ive tried to have tires installed they needed to be ordered. Estimated delivery was given, service appointments were made, I show up to get tires installed and they dont have the tires, cant find the order. I wait for several days while they supposedly are trying to track the order, when I follow up nothing has been done. This last time they cant even find my order. 3 days ago when I was in the store the order was there. No customer service, no follow up, and no ability to even tell me what is going on with my order that now has apparantly been lost. Unfortunatley I will take my business elsewhere from now on, they have lost a long time repeat customer.

Went to Pep Boys to look for car floor mats. You can usually find lots of things you need for your car there. But, we were disappointed by how long we had to wait for a cashier to come to the register. When we arrived, there were literally three shoppers in the store besides us..and the cashier talked to us when we came in. Were not sure if she left for a break, but we finished shopping and stood at the counter for at least 10 minutes waiting. We walked over to the tire section where a lady was on the phone, but she didnt even acknowledge us standing there. We walked back to the counter, she got off the phone and walked over to the counter next to the one where we were standing...continued to ignore us..and walked away. Finally, someone came from the counter in the back of the store and checked us out. Man..talk about being ignored!!! We wont bother them again!!!

My ex bought me rims here last year and new tires when I had the rims put on. Ive had issues with the tires/rims since! I went yesterday to make an appt for today and was told it was first come first serve... Fine, whatever! Woke up this a.m and one of my tires were completely flat so put air in it and headed straight to Pep Boys. When I arrive I was asked if I had an appt!?!?! Ummm... was told by YOU (SAME GUY) 1ST Come 1st serve... Him: well it will be a wait.ILL WAIT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Everytime I come here its something. The only reason Im dealing with them still is because they are the ones that put the rims and tires on!!

Limped in with a bad battery. Tony fit me in and had me on my way in 45 minutes. Great guys.

TPMS not set-up after being charged

I have utilized the oil changes from this Pep Boys since inheriting my late father’s car. They’ve always been incredibly respectful and have done an excellent job keeping the car in good working order.Shout out to Mr. Tony for his superb customer service as well as Mr. Austin for performing the services to my vehicle. Your dedication to your craft does not go unnoticed.Although I am leaving Frederick, I plan to return to this location because of the guaranteed great service they provide.

Bring in 2 sets of wheels and tires to have swapped from 1 to the other. Get a call at 4pm when they close at 5 telling me sorry our tech had an unfortunate accident and 1 of your tires ripped. But we mounted the other 3 and theyre ready to be picked up. Would not do a thing for me to help me with the purchase price on a new tire and it was too late in the day at this point to have them mount another anyway. What good does 3 tires do for me? Will never be back.

The sales store I have no complaints about. The Service side isn’t that great. I made an appointment for a wheel alignment 2days prior to coming in at 10 am online and also clicked the option to wait for my vehicle there cause I know it doesn’t take long to do an alignment. So I get there before 10 and the woman goes dropping off ? I said no I will be waiting. She says we don’t have a waiting Room. Then why have that option? Then she says it’s gonna take a while, I’ve gonna 4 people ahead of you. I said r u kidding me ?what the hell is the point of making a appointment if they are taking people by first serve. If I would of known all of this I would had been the first one in line. So I left in a very bad mood.

I had to get a vehicle inspected and they were very helpful fair price and helped me to get through the inspection process they found one thing that was wrong and called me we were able to fix it and my vehicle passed inspection the same day they do a great job at this location

I desperately needed new tires ASAP and Justin was able to schedule me in next day. I realized I needed an oil change as well and called last minute hoping to add it to my tire appointment. He was able to squeeze the additional service in without hesitation and was in and out in less time than expected. Even going as far as finding me discounts I didn’t know were available. I am very happy with my service and will continue to use them as my primary service provider.

I cant thank you enough for the service yesterday.While I was returning home (NJ), my exhaust hangers broke and the pipe was dragging on the road. The friendly staff took me in and suggested solution that didnt work for us. When we requested, if there are any temporary fix to keep us moving. The technician did workaround. Mark D is awesome, knowledgeable. Both the staff ( Ms.Shonda and Mr.Mark D) understand the importance of customer service and they are practicing it.Thank you so much. Happy a blessed new year.

Didnt buy anything because the vehicle battery i required wasnt in stock. I like the store though. It is easily navigated and there is a discount table for folks like me lol. Will be back for smaller items though.

While having my car serviced at Suburu due to a recall, I was told that I needed 4 new tires and an alignment and the cost would be over $900. I called SEVERAL tire places all around me (I live in Leesburg, VA) to price shop and see if I could find a better deal than Suburu – I’m in the middle of buying a home so really needed it! I called Pep Boys and spoke to Tony who walked me through different tire options (cheaper yet good tires) online and said he would also provide me with a 10% discount. When I arrived to Pep Boys I checked in with Shanda, the most lovely mechanic - she told me they would do a check on my tires after the alignment to ensure I truly needed new tires as opposed to just a tire rotation. Turns out I really did need the tires, however Shanda provided me with some MAJOR discounts on top of the 10%. With Pep Boys I ended up getting an alignment and really great 65-mile warranty Good Year tires for almost half the price I was quoted from Suburu, and significantly cheaper than the other places I called too. I don’t understand car things much and could easily be taken advantage of but the super kind and friendly staff at Pep Boys made me feel like they were looking out for my best interest, and not their own. I rarely leave reviews but had to for the EXCEPTIONAL staff and company. This will definitely be my new auto servicer! Thanks again Shanda and Tony! PS – The Cellar Door was awesome! 😊

I arrived from Michigan with multiple significant front wheel issues on a Friday night. I feared I was going to be stranded into the next week. I called Pep Boys Frederick and was put on the schedule for the following morning Saturday (Not many places were open on Saturday!). I was amazed at Pep Boys ability to get multiple parts and do all the repairs in one day!! The person at the counter (Shanda) also impressed me with her knowledge of my vehicle. I highly recommend this place and team!

I go to pepboys alot to get parts for my car .the prices are very good and I have never had a problem. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Faith always has a smile on when walking into the door and always does her best helping customers. And Sam and Joseph and Chris and faith are the best people to work with hands down

Everyone from parts to the service department were very nice and made sure that I got any available discounts. Jay (Jeremiah) was my mechanic and he was very conscientious and explained things including future service. Wait was short, service and prices great.

Pep Boys was a LIFE SAVER!!! I was traveling to VA and I got a flat tire at 7pm and by the time my car was hooked up, nothing was open locally. The worst part was, I was still very far from home. I was panicked due to being the end of the usual business day and I called Pep Boys to see if they could replace my tire the same night. Even though they closed at 9pm, they still got me in an hour before closing on the spot. Working 2 jobs, there was no way I was going to make it to work the next day.. but thanks to Pep Boys, I do not have to call off and they saved me so much time and money!! I highly recommend the staff and service at this location. They were amazing and I would recommend them to anyone !!

Made an appointment for an oil change for 8am 4/6/20. Arrived 10 minutes early and was the second customer in the store. I was then advised that my oil change was going to take 2-3 hours!?!? This was due to the fact that there was only one employee performing oil changes and there were several cars in front of me. Don’t you think that if a customer that’s standing at the service desk, with an appointment, that stated on the website when the appointment was made that I was going wait would trump other vehicles in the lot? Why have the option to make an appointment if it does the person making it no good? C’ mon guys. You’re better than that.

Had an appointment at 4:30pm for a tire balance. Was told that the shop was “short on staff, and that it would take an hour to an hour and a half to finish.” I’m not an unreasonable person, so I told the employee helping me that I understood. No big deal. 2 hours later I see that my car has not moved, so I go to who I assume is the manager, and ask for my keys back. I’m told “They were just about to pull it in.” I watched two of the four employees “working” there chatting with a guy in an SUV that had pulled up for 20 minutes before giving up and asking for my keys back. Do yourselves a big favor and never bring your vehicles here. Save yourselves the time. If my experience is a reflection of how the shop is managed and the employee reliability, then you’re more likely to have the employees break your vehicle than fix it. Pep Boys has lost my business indefinitely.

I had a wonderful experience at Pep boys! Nick the manager was awesome! I had a headlight out, and I’ve been to the other shops in the past; and they’ve always told me how difficult it was to take the light out. They said they would have to take my bumper out and etc... Nick was able to take my light out and install a new within 10-15 without unscrewing anything and taking my bumper off! I had a wonderful experience and appreciate Nick fitting me in on very short notice! Appreciate you Nick! Thanks pep boys!

Ive had multiple vehicle emergencies and Pep Boys has always been a great go-to for me, ever since my dad introduced me to the company. I recently had a confusing issue with my headlight, and Tony helped us figure it all out real fast! He knows his stuff and is a great person to work with!
