Went here to get vehicle inspected after an out-of-state purchase. I am always wary of trusting shops after so many bad experiences and this was my first time working with them.They were very patient and answered all my questions while showing what I needed to pass inspection here in Maryland and why. It was an overall great experience and they have earned a recurring customer with their attitude, honesty, and drive to get my car up and running!

Everyone in the shop was not only helpful but very responsive and quick. I came in with a significant problem and they not only squeeze me in but resolve the issues I was able to drive away and get new tires put on. I highly recommend the shop for their expertise and their incredible customer service.

I took my truck there for an inspection so I could get new tags/title. They were very prompt and easy to work with and they sent the report to the MVA electronically.

They did a great job, explained everything in detail and did exactly what they said they were going to do. I will definitely use them again.

They helped me out in a time of need. However when I recieved my vehicle back, there where many issues that hadnt been one before. Rags still attached to my engine, the under mud protector not properly attached, my window washer fluid hose was adjusted shorter and broke. And lastly my blinker no longer functions. Keep in mind I just had a radiator, and thermostat replaced. They where very kind and helpful people just more attention to detail is needed in this shop.

Jim, Brandon and Lynn are very professional. Service was great and repair bill was reasonable. Jim saved me some money as I thought I needed to replace all pads and rotors but a clean, adjust and brake flush was all it needed. They also did an oil change, tire rotation and replace 2 tires. I went to Advanced Automotive Repair for a safety inspection. From the time I made the appointment to the check out service I was impressed by their professionalism, knowledge and safety (COVID). This will be my go to place for all my automotive needs.

The quality of the work done was good, but I was upsold too much, I was not updated regularly, and I was not given an ETA on completion of the work until I asked.

I have definitely found a new mechanic!!! The owner is very nice and HONEST!! Theyve done great work and weve had NO problems or complaints. The entire staff is GREAT! Noah, a mechanic there, has worked on a few of our vehicles and weve been 100% satisfied. Theyre willing to take the time to answer questions and explain everything. The prices are reasonable. They are clearly not out to gouge customers by finding ways to charge aa much as they possibly can. (My brake job ended up being less than the estimate.) Theyve always gotten our vehicles in on time and were done when expected. I trust them completely with all our vehicles. I have definitely found our new mechanic!!

Wow, thanks for a great experience, Advanced. Jim is very helpful and made time for my Scion with a bad alternator and horribly corroded battery terminals. He pointed out a few safety problems with my car and suggested a few simple things to improve maintenance. They dont maintain themselves, so if you need it done he can do it.

At first, I was disappointed to learn that the car we had purchased in VA had a couple of serious issues. It was going to be a hassle returning the car and finding another one. The more I thought about it, however, Jims careful MD inspection saved us from some expensive repairs in a month or two. I have confidence in a car that AAR says passes inspection.

The people here are not the warmest or best where customer service is concerned. I got arrogant, rude behavior from the owner and workers. I was also quoted a price, $28.00 for a re-inspection got it documented and it wasnt honored, he charged $45.00 when I showed the documentation to the owner, he threw his hands up in the air and replied ITS TOO LATE NOW For someone to be in business this long, treating people this way is not nice at all, and if that is the way auto shops operate I am deeply disappointed. Plus the place is FILTHY!

Nice place but is a little hard to find. Its not a big shop but the owner Jim was very certuous. He gave me an estimate on my vehicle which was not high like the shops I went to prior to finding this one he had it done in a reasonable amount of time. They also offer maryland state inspections which is nice considering they are not even a mile from the MVA I would highly recommend going here.

As a young professional going through her first inspection, I had a bad experience with this inspection garage. I had to pay the first inspection fee and was told my car did not pass. The reason for the fail was due to:wrong size rotors, brake hose twisted, and broken exhaust hanger. Not even two weeks after the first inspection I went back after getting the failed parts fixed... and was failed due to a almost hole in my exhaust pipe. To top it off I had a mechanic message me through my personal phone for his personal gain. I will not be coming back to this inspection garage again and will highly encourage any other young professionals to do the same.

As usual, Jim did a through job...I would not take my cars anywhere else.

I live in Carroll County, and I will travel the 40 miles to take my vehicles to this Shop! It all started about 5 years ago, I needed a brake job pronto as I was headed for the mountains of PA, and Jim got them fixed on a Friday night for me. He explained every part of what he had done, and pointed out a few other things that I should keep an eye on. Over the years, I have brought both my cars to this place. Once, another shop recommended some work, and Jim checked it over for me, pointing out that two of the three recommendations were unneccesary.I will tell you he is not inexpensive, but no more than any other independent mechanic, but he is certainly less than the dealership. However, he will see you most times at a moments notice, and he works on SATURDAYS, which in my neck of the woods is unheard of. I have to work during the week, and I only own one car at a time, so this is important.This last trip, I had 4 trouble lights come on, and I was very concerned. Mr. Iler saw me the next day, and ran a diagnostic that showed a bad sensor. He suspected this might be a false code due to a dirty contact or loose wire, so be examined the sensor, cleaned it and replaced it, but the lights remained lit. He said he would check on the price and get in touch, but assured me the car was safe to drive. On the way home the lights went out, and the car has been behaving ever since.Jim told me the price of the repair (it is within the range of what I had checked on the internet), and if the trouble persisted, just to give him a call. Please note that he did not, nor has he ever, charged me for diagnosing a problem, or lack of a problem, as the case may be, and this is not the same thing as just using a tool like they do at the auto parts store; this entails lifting the car onto the rack and getting to the meat of the matter.I have found Jim Iler to be honest dependable and knowledgeable. I just wish he were closer!

STAY AWAY! I took my car into this shop to have a small amount of engine work done. The mechanic wanted to to a lot more work on the car then was necessary. When I told him I would not get this additional work done, the mechanic called the State Police. A State Trooper by the name of Lee Pruit came to the shop and took the tags off my car and took them home. The mechanic and the officer told me I could not get the tags back until I got the work done. Obviously theres a kickback system in play. When I learned of this I called the police and filed a stolen tags report. The State Police ordered Pruit to take the tags back to the car and order me a work order.This shop is involved with corrupt business practices. Stay Away.
