Really a great place to shop for party items, but I wish they would sort party themes together instead of seeing balloons on one side, balloon packs in the middle plates and napkins on a side aisle and party favor bags on the far left wall. Putting them all together would allow for a quick item shop with themes.

The remodel of the store is lovely - the store looks significantly better. But if you are looking for the costume selection at Halloween that you may have seen in previous years, that is not the case. Not sure if it is chain wide or for this specific location, but the selection of Halloween costumes this year versus previous is significantly lower. The party item selection remains top notch.

The Frederick store is HORRIBLE!!!!!! Im only giving 1 star because I cant give a ZERO. Searched online and it stated that there was a variety of costumes available in the store. When I got there, the shelves were empty. When I asked an associate she said the website was inaccurate. WTH?! There were no areas to try anything on so I purchased 2 of the same, in different sizes. I SPECIFICALLY asked if it could be returned for my money back and was told it wouldnt be a problem. I came in, when I was fi ally able to get to the store, and NOW Im being told that I can exchange because its passed the date for a full return. The ink on the receipt, that showed the date, was so light it couldnt be read. The signs at the register were all covered by merchandise. The TEO managers I spoke with were RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Becca, the 2nd manager, was the GM!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?!!!! Party City should reconsider their level of expectation, when choosing management.

I was able to get some last minute items from this location for my sons birthday. They did not have any dragon theme items but they did have chafing dishes and heating candles. The staff was really nice and the one young lady that checked me out helped me put my bags in the car which is really nice because Im pregnant

Im a shipt shopper and we start to arrive at Party City a little early. Today I get to Party City at 850am. Carlee the employee was like you cant come in here until 9am. I was like Im from Shipt and we come in just a little bit early to get our orders. She was not budging at all. I want to say if you go to Party City in Frederick, watch out for Carlee. Shes the GRINCH.

This Party City location surprised me...is very clean, brightly lit, very spacious and very neat and organized. They had way more inventory than the tow locations I normally visit in Kentlands and Rockville, which was such a pleasant surprise. Its definitely become my go-to Party City location. Staff are also very friendly, professional, courteous, and available for questions.

I spoke with a manager the night before about filling up balloons. When I went in today one the the employees was nasty and yelling at me about how they wouldn’t do it. I am absolutely disgusted with Party city.

Picked up some party balloons for my wifes 50th birthday. Actually I sent my daughter and strange were all supposed to be blue and they come back all different colors so that was a bit disappointing.

Didnt carry certain items. Very Courteous and Friendly.

Very bad customer experience today. my wife and I were picking up balloons for our daughters 2 year birthday. She ordered and paid using curbside pickup. She got a notification on her phone saying the order was ready. All we had to do was click the link to send notification we was on the way. And then when we arrive we click a link to show that we arrived and they would bring the order out. So we did all that. After waiting awhile and no one bringing the order out my wife decided to call to let them know we were outside. After 2 or 3 attempts and no one answering the phone I decided to just go inside and get them. When I got inside I seen 3 workers and 2 lines of people, about 3 people in each line. I also heard the phone ringing which I assumed was my wife still calling (which is was). I stood in one of the lines watching no one attempt to even answer the phones. After the line i was in stopped moving I seen 1 guy to the side, so i got out of line and I walked over and told him I was there to pick up a curbside pick up. I told him we have been out there for awhile and even called in but no one was answering the phone. Then another employee stepped over and said that there was only 2 of them working because he was not on the clock. I said ok, I understand that, but we have a curbside pick up, we was told it was ready, weve been waiting, its already paid for, is it ready? She asked me for the name, it was right in front of her so she handed it to me. I said thank you and left.My whole problem with this is why have curbside pick up if the employees cant multi task? The system is set up to let the employees know you are on the way and when you arrived. If you are too busy to notice the notification to see someone has arrived then you should at least answer the phones when you hear it ringing over and over knowing you have a curbside pick up program. Having to wait so long that you decide to go in to pick up your order defeats the whole purpose of curbside pick up. Just get rid of the program. If i would of never went in side we would probably still be sitting in our car waiting for them to not have any inside customers.

The new layout and store is a nice upgrade..I was easily distracted by the Balloon displays and happy to see all the new designs. 😄

Disappointed with the selection. I had to go to Hagerstown to find wrist bands which are no longer carried at this store.

The manager of this location, Areena (sp?), needs a lesson in customer service and being helpful. I have been in this store twice in the past week and Arena has been condescending, rude and has complete and total attitude when dealing with shoppers. Party City must be pretty hard up to have someone like her working for them let alone in a lead position. Horrible, messy store, another attribution to the person in charge

Bought a costume wig bought for a child, walked back in 5 minutes later to refund due to an allergy concern, and was told regardless it can not be returned. Return policy does not disclose this on my receipt or on the door, it was also not visibly posted where the wig was found. Get it together.

It is neat. Aisles are well organized, however it oddly didnt have the items I wanted for a babyshower. The items were simple so that is why 3 stars I was hoping to not have to do amazon.

I’m only giving the store a 3 star review because of the young lady at the register, if it weren’t for her this store would be a one star, I am thoroughly disappointed. I’ve been coming to this party city for years and I never have a problem with customer service, however this is the second time I’ve been here within two months and have been dissatisfied, and I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back. The General Manager there is just rude. The first time I came it was a Saturday and she was helping with the balloons, there were multiple people waiting for their balloons as well as myself, and a man walked up to her and asked her for help and she just completely ignored him, I would understand if she didn’t hear him but she turned to look at him and just looked away. Another lady had to help the man with what he was finding. In the same time frame a young lady asked her how long until she would get her balloons because they gave her a 15 minute wait time and she had been there for 45 already, the two women at the counter just looked at her with an attitude and the GM told her that she didn’t know, and that they were swamped with. Which I understand completely however the tone of this woman’s voice was unnecessarily rude. It seemed as if they were giving 15 minute wait times to everyone, because the gentleman behind me got a 15 minute wait time as well. Extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I didn’t complain this time because I understand that everyone has their bad days. This past Friday I was at this location around 12 for my lunch break, and I wasn’t expecting the same behavior. I was shopping around when I had a question about the Valentine’s Day items so I seen the same lady from the previous time I was there and I tried to get her attention yet she completely ignored me, so that was pretty frustrating on its own, however she came out of the office WITHOUT her mask on her face talking and laughing with two other associates extremely loud. I was absolutely shocked. I’ve worked in retail for nearly 30 years, and I have been a District Manager for 10, so I know what’s acceptable and what isn’t, and this is not acceptable, especially on a busy day. I was very tempted to call the Health Department because of the way the restrooms looked and her talking in the back with her mask off of her face where customers can see her, as if the pandemic, and covid is a joke to her. I continued to shop around, and I was in one of the aisles that she was in, when I heard her use a few curse words, there was a mother with a young girl in his aisle and she heard as well, she wasn’t too pleased by that from the way it looked either. I know that I sound like a “Karen” but I’m not, I’m never the type to complain because I understand retail has it’s flaws and not everyone has good days, but this is the second time I’ve been here and that this lady has been unprofessional. Like I said in the beginning of the post the young lady who was at the register was more than kind and she was the only reason I had a semi good experience, she ended up answering all of my questions, and helping me get sorted out.

This party city has horrible customer service, management, and organization skills. Not at all happy with my experience with the workers or my product. Employees, especially the manager, are very rude and horrible.

Todays visit was a bit longer than I would have liked. Staff seemed to have no motivation or energy to provide any level of customer service that is customary for a Party City. Jit seememd as though the balloon area was where all 4 of the employees were hanging out.

Very good selection of costumes for kids and adults, and they reasonably priced. You will definitely find what you are looking for all your party needs here. The staff was not too attentive though, my son and I came in and were not greeted by staffers who were right in the front when we entered. We wandered around the whole store, when a staffer could have easily pointed us in the right direction. I am not one to complain much, just very big on customer service if I am spending my $$ in your establishment.

I stopped in Party City for one item, Jelly Belly Buttered Popcorn flavored jelly beans. I had checked online for stores that carried the product and saw that Party City was supposed to be the outlet. I didnt check ahead for this particular location and unfortunately they didnt have what I wanted. But that isnt to take away from this store because it is jampacked with anything and everything you would want for a party. This was my first visit but wont be my last.

Nothing different than what was expected. I just feel bad for anyone who works there. Their only bathroom available has the door ready to fall off. I hope thats not the employees only bathroom. Otherwise, they have all the party favors we needed for a young ones birthday and a baby shower.

Were out of the merchandise that I needed and had to wait in line for a long time to get my order of balloons that i ended up having to choose from and then after waiting so long asked for a bag to put on my big order of balloons she then said I would have to get back in line and pay the $1.something to be able to have a bag I asked her if I could just give it to her and she said no I had to pay at the register so I had to get back in line to pay for a bag. Wasnt a pleasant experience but not really other places around where I live that have all the party accessories that I wanted from party city next time I will do better research so I dont have to go through that again

If you are looking to get balloons for a celebration and go here, be prepared to roll the dice. On several occasions my balloon order has been incomplete, incorrect, or lost completely. If you ask for a refund, thats a whole another hassle that you have to go through as they try to tell you that you placed the order at a different store and wont refund your money. It would be a whole different experience if the manager or employees would apologize when they screw something up and ask how they can help make it better. But they dont. Instead the manager gives a lot of excuses like, welI didnt take the balloon order myself, so I dont know what happened and Im not going to argue about balloons. Like another person said, the reason why I had given so many chances was because they do have a good balloon selection. However, since its never correct, this was the last straw after the third time I tried to get balloons and they messed it up. Its easier to go to another grocery store or dollar store for balloons now. Now I just order my balloons online and drop them off at another store to get filled. No problems whatsoever since I have stopped going to Party City.

The website says they are still open and offering more services to serve customers. It does not state the store itself is closed to public Except for pick up. Got to the front door with my child the women jus looked up and with an attitude said um No! No! I said no what? Your not open? She said No and began to close the door. I worked for party city many years and this is the worst one by far. Ive gone a handful of times and the experience is the same every time.The managers are young immature teens that fight and cuss at the cashiers in front of customers and children no matter what age. Clearly Im not the only one giving them this rating. This franchisee needs to do better and hire people who value their jobs and have some manners.

They have a great selection for all of your party needs but prices for a lot of things are sky high. The team is unenthusiastic and the overall cleanliness is lacking. I don’t hate my visits here but they seem mundane.

Worst store in Frederick never clean and never enough people actually working last trip cost me $20 because no were in the store that is easily seen can you find a no return policy for Halloween wigs. My family will never return to this store to many times of bad orders or being treated like by the teens that work. We will just have to order online from other retailers and get our balloons inflated in another retailer

Busy but great for instance party

Just went to pick up some birthday balloons. Pretty straight forward and fast friendly service..

Went in looking for a birthday gift bag, they basically had 3 sizes to choose from, tiny or small or giant. The store looked liked a tornado had blown through. Beyond disastrous. On a plus side, the young man who rang me up was nice and pleasant.

So much to sort through. Im sure theres a system but I was in a rush and maybe too impatient.. probably hungry.. but found what I needed. Friendly staff.

They had a large selection of items to choose from, but the store was extremely disorganized which made it difficult to find some of the things I was looking for. The sales associates, however, were very nice and approachable.

I need a 1 and 8, they didnt have two colors that matched. These are popular numbers. My suggestion is to keep up to date with your stock and order what your customers want. The csr was amazing and she really tried to find something that would work for me. I cant remember her name but I appreciate her going above and beyond!

Good place to find an assortment of inexpensive prizes for party favors, etc. In my experience, they have a great selection of items for birthday parties. With respect to other holidays, it is hit or miss. I was disappointed at their selection of Valentines decorations and candy, for example.

I was able to find everything I needed pretty quickly. The only problem was they were out of the quantity of the things that I needed. Otherwise people were friendly it was a clean store and I would recommend shopping there.

We went in around Halloween time and it was pretty clean. A bunch high schoolers trying to make money at their first job is what brings us to a 4/5! Cant help it, but Im being honest.

This Party City was decimated. It had aisles fully empty, to the point where I thought it must be going out of business. I went down the aisle with the Toy Story party favors, and it was disorganized and half empty. Same with Nerf. Same with My Little Pony. Is this normal? What is going on here?

Its a great place to get party supplies and costumes. Their pricing on goods is fairly decent. However, if youre visiting around Halloween, they can get busy. You can get decorations, props, costumes and even a pinata here.

Have never had a good experience here. After multiple times of trying to order balloons for birthday parties here, they have never gotten my order correct. The staff is highly incompetent and the customer service is atrocious. I have spent entirely too much money and time trying to get balloons here and will never go back. On four different occasions now, they have let me down. The only reason I kept giving them more chances is because the selection for balloons is the best, but what good is that if they can’t do anything else correctly. One of the worst retail stores I have ever dealt with.

Wish they were well stocked with Balloons. Not at all stocked. If you need balloons I would try somewhere else.

Checkout line is ridiculous. Two cashiers only working the line especially during the busy time of the year. A self checkout will not be a bad idea for those of us that want to pop in and out.

I placed an order for 15 dozen balloons and when I arrived none of them were bagged. I found this odd. After taking the first trip to the car and wrangling with them, I lost 1/2 doz. I explained when I went back in what happened and asked why no bags? We stopped doing that bc they cost us a $1/ea no apology, simply that. Canceled rest of order. Disappointing, will go to giant

I stood at the balloon counter for at least 5 mins (probably more, but I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt). There were 2 cashiers checking people out and there was one girl...well, doing nothing. She was playing with the balloon weights trying to look busy I guess. A young man came up to the counter, saw me, proceeded to do something on the register and then walked away. He literally looked me in the eye. There’s no way he could’ve not seen me. After that, I stood some more. I even asked the cashiers after awhile (and they had taken more customers that had walked up and stood in line since I had been waiting at the balloon counter) if there was someone to assist me. The girl who wasn’t doing anything said “um, one minute.” And that was it. She didn’t call anyone. She didn’t radio anyone. Nothing. I stood some more. Finally, I left. My daughter was in tears because she wasn’t able to get stuff for her first birthday party w/ friends that we were planning on purchasing. I even called after I’d left bc I’ve never experienced this level of horrible customer service and was immediately put on hold for 5 mins. And then again for another 2 or 3 while waiting to speak with the manager. I get that they were busy but not to even call for back up or anything is just ridiculous. I won’t be going back to party city ever again. Ps: this is after I’d already spent $100+ on party supplies; I was simply intending to add a dozen balloons to my already existing order and get some party favors. Not anymore!
