Me and my fiancé went yesterday Friday august 6. Great fudge and truffles but even better service. I wish I knew the woman’s name that was working that night cause she was great to talk to. She said it was second day working there. A great hire.

02/15/2021 We actually stopped while travelling from Ohio, to visit a competitor down the street we had seen on t.v. They were closed for no apparent reason but gladly we saw Candy Kitchen. The store looked really nice, clean, and quite a variety. Girl working was very friendly and patient. Would go out of the way to stop here again.

Extremely kind and patient staff. Everyone was very helpful and excited to be there. They also had amazing chocolate, with an extremely wide selection. Also kudos for their following of safe COVID-19 guidelines!

Love them! Everybody is friendly and helpful. They have a fantastic selection and we’ve had a wonderful experience every time. The sea salt malt balls are my favorite!!

Be warned: their mocha beans dont have actual coffee beans in them, theyre still good though

Great selection of quality chocolates and especially happy to see wide selection of black licorice. Dark chocolate with marzipan, sea salt caramels and salty licorice. Very much appreciated the attention to careful COVID-19 measures in the store.

I have been going to the Candy Kitchen for 20 years but after my experience today I will not return again. I was so embarrassed when one of the employees in front of everyone demanding i put up my mask while I was just try to eat a piece of candy i had just purchased. After purchasing our candy today we wanted to try it and were rudely interrupted and told we could not lower our masks just to try a piece. I understand the rules but how are you supposed to eat through a mask?

I love this store and have been a loyal customer for 27 years. I am very appreciative of the strict COVID protocols in place.

My best friend lives in Maryland. She sent us a pound of mixed chocolates! They were fabulous! I came across one candy, a dark chocolate raspberry jelly that was totally phenomenal! This particular candy was my grandfathers favorite. Of course, my wonderful friend sent me a box of this candy.I havent tasted chocolate this delicious in years !Excellent quality! Phenomenal melt in your mouth premium chocolate!The FINEST!!!

Lots of great candy here but pass on the Sugar Free Lemon Candy. The bag that I recently purchased tasted very lemony but the candy drops must have been very old. The outside colored wrapper is sticking to the inside foil wrapper. The foil wrapper is near impossible to peel off the candy drop because the drop is nowgooie. I live 70+ miles from Frederick so it is impractical to return.

Fun place, smells great. Nice for kids. Less like a boutique than an old fashioned candy shop. There is/was one in Ocean City owned by the same people. Frederick one has more chocolate; less taffy.

Of the 3 chocolate shops in Frederick, they have the biggest selection. Truffles, chocolates, chocolate covered pretzels, sugar free chocolate, and non-chocolate candy too. You can buy individual pieces or create your own mixed box (variety of sizes available).

The BEST chocolate is found here!! And Ive bought a lot of chocolate in my time. Their percentage of sugar is perfect, and its ALWAYS fresh. Dont miss it when you are in the area!!!

The Vanilla Creams are out of this world - the best Ive ever tasted. I love sending them to my parents and frequently they return the favor. You will enjoy!

The Candy Kitchen is a small artisan choclate maker. The factory is based in Waynesboro, PA. Their chocholate is also known under the brand Despina Léos and Zoës Chocolate Co. I am confused by all the names but was told that the business has been in the family for 108 years. Their cocoa beans are sourced through Switzerland. (Their gummy candy comes from Europe as well.) The truffles are excellent. The fudge is good too. Very friendly staff. Worth a visit!THE STORE IS CLOSED EVERY SUNDAY IN JANUARY DESPITE THE HOURS POSTED ON THE DOOR.November 2011 update: Their supply of truffles and other chocolates has become irregular. Call before visiting if you need a particular item.
