It is now called the showroom and I havent been there since it was the family meal and the food is still on point. Had the waffle and the chicken. I really like the chicken and the fresh peppers they used on it. And the chicken was cooked appropriately. Its so easy to ever cook it. Wasnt a fan of the honey based syrup.

Recommend a few visits here. It’s worth visiting Frederick just to walk off the meal here. Had the biscuits and gravy as well as the breakfast sandwich. It did take a minute to get our food after ordering. I take it because the kitchen was busy, place was packed. No problem, worth the wait. Food came out warm and tasty. How they get the biscuits so soft and flaky, who knows, but they are good. Drinks were prepared to order as well and good. Definitely coming back next time for the lunch.

Great service and a terrific meal! Start with the duck fat fries, we also tried the corn flake crusted onion rings... Wow! Shrimp and grits, Bryans burger, dinner pancakes, and then dessert if you still have room!

Enjoyable, brisk diner experience. Waiters were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Burgers were cooked perfectly and the fries are super tasty! All the sauces were fun to try and guess what went into them. Super busy on a Saturday so maybe youd have a wait if you were a bigger group but we got seated at the bar almost immediately and enjoyed it. The milkshakes look incredible but we were too full to partake. Have one for me if you decide to come!

Ive been here a few times, the food is good and the service is great. The old bay chicken wings are great. The first time I had them I was blown away. This last time they went overboard with the seasoning so they were very salty. If you decide to get these I’d recommend asking them to go light on the old bay sauce.Overall the food is fresh and delicious. The home fries are yummy!!The blackberry sorbet in the ”lemon poppy seed cake” dessert is perfect.

This is a great restaurant for a quick bite. We started with the chicken pot pie fritters, they came to the table hot and crispy, and were delicious. My husband had the adult banana butterscotch milk shake, it was soooooo good, it had a little brulee banana on top with a melted marshmallow. We had the meatloaf and shrimp and grits for our entree. The meatloaf had a wonderful ketchup sauce and a mushroom gravy on the potatoes, I would definitely have it again. The shrimp and grits were creamy and filling, we would also order them again. We finished the meal with a lemon blueberry cake in a mug that was the perfect ending to an excellent meal! Love this place!!!!

One of those meals that you eat slowly, so you can enjoy it longer. If your in the area stop. Easy to get to from I-70. Shrimp and grits, goat cheese and caramelized and a doughnut. Doughnuts are only made on weekends and only small batch. Know we will be stopping every time we are close.

I love Family Meal! This magical place can transport me from what feels like 5 star elegance to my childhood in the span of breakfast!Everything you eat here is thought out down to the smallest detail. Fried chicken flutters to your table in a cute rooster shaped boat bowl with all the country style sides you grew up with. Homemade pastrami gorgeously slow smoked and served on perfect rye bread. Stone ground grits so fluffy you’d swear that hominy couldn’t become so sublime.Come early for the breakfast and start your day right! Over easy eggs that have the entire yolk oozing. Nothing is overcooked. Biscuits and gravy with sausage bits so fresh and flavourful. The biscuit is soaked ahead of time so that it’s not this dry rock with gravy flowing over it, but rather a warm, thick, soft (but not flaccid an saturated) starchy bed of buttermilk goodness that you don’t even need teeth to eat.Creative breakfast sandwiches with lo-tech potato roll buns contain a huge egg fold with locally sourced bacon and melty cheese. The coffee is to die for. La Colombe is the greatest blender of coffee sources in the world. Go to their website and buy a gift box for yourself. Or go to Family Meal and order a cup with free refills (you’ll need to). Not on the menu, but visible from their bar is a cappuccino machine. Order one, or two. They are perfect. They tempt you with trays of huge homemade doughnuts. Some even have fruity pebble cereal sprinkled on top. But they’re not stale toppings like Dunkin. They are soaked in milk before blended with the glaze so that they stay soft. You also get the entire doughnut. That includes the hole. The dough is so spongy and light it’s like angel cake but a bit firmer. They taste like $100 so splitting one with a friend for $5 is a bargain! You will get your money’s worth at Family Meal and then some. This isn’t your sassy greasy spoon. This is a diner with confidence and gentle surprises.

As west coasters we’ve been having a really hard time finding places that are “foodie” like this. Fresh ingredients, unique menu items that are not overwhelming. Our kids loved family meal & we did too! We cannot WAIT to come back. The biscuits and gravy met my husbands pickyness and knocked it out of the park. I had the French toast & kids had pancakes and waffles. We really didn’t find anything that was even bland. Prices are on par for what we are used to paying for breakfast.

The three-cheese lasagna had absolutely no flavor and was barely warm when I got home less than a mile away from the restaurant. I cant believe it cost FIFTY DOLLARS with a small side salad. I couldve bought a $12 lasagna of the same size in the freezer section at a grocery store that tasted better. The side salad tasted good, but it was way too small for being the side for a big lasagna. The side of roasted veggies was pathetic. They were barely cooked, had no seasoning, and were sitting in a pool of water. The only good part of the meal was the wine.

This place is fantastic. Though situated in what looks like was recently an abandoned strip mall parking lot, it now has a local brewery right next door as well as a cigar bar. Im pretty sure that there is a requirement that men who work here must be sporting a style consistent with lumberjack hipster, as there is no shortage of fitted flanel shirts, impressive ink-work, and well groomed facial hair. The food and drinks were delicious and inexpensive. You must try the fried chicken. It was hands down the best Ive ever had. The Brussels sprouts and the macaroni and cheese were also big winners!

If you’re willing to spend $25 on breakfast for 2 on the industrial side of Frederick, pick Family Meal. The egg and bacon sandwich looks like the one you might get in a local diner, but everything about it is elevated, Top Chef style, down to the homemade mayo and flash fried potatoes. The granola and preserves are also made in house, served with creamy yogurt in a super cute barrel jar. Light and airy vibe with (somewhat) attentive waitstaff. It’s a Top Chef’s interpretation of what a diner should be, priced accordingly.

Duck fat fried potatoes that are probably $7, that dont really taste any better, and not sure worth the elevated price tag, but nonetheless different, so worth trying. The meal overall was pleasant and the service is friendly. The staff is very accommodating and clearly shows genuine interest in the satisfaction of diners. That being said, the food was good but not great. The goat cheese omelette is prepared French style meaning it is runny in the middle and is very soft. Also the outside has no crispness to it...again very soft. I had to ask for a redo and they were very nice about it, reminding me the next time I order it to ask for well done. The French Toast was excellent as were the home fries dusted with rosemary. The biscuits were not really biscuits at all but rather squares of very wet cakes fried on the flat top. Excellent coffee. All to say that we had mixed feelings about the food, which could be avoided by a little more detail in the menu. Nice ambiance overall and plenty of parking.

This is for an updated rating 3 stars, down from a previous 4.We got different dishes than previous visits:- Onion rings were the best part of the meal, especially the dip.- The BLT, made with pork belly, was a bit salty and just OK.- The chicken and waffles was barely OK ... The tiny fried chicken thigh was completely overcooked, to a point that was very hard and lacked any juice or taste; the waffle tasted as if it was from a frozen box (although Eggos taste better).- The sangria was made with red wine--this part is OK of course--but had no fruit or fruit flavor ... And it had a ton of cinnamon ... And thats what you tasted. I was unable to drink it, and after talking to the server, they removed it from the bill. This drink is not sangria; if served warm for the holidays and called spiced wine, maybe it would be acceptable ... For those who like to taste just a ton of cinnamon.- Dessert was OK: chocolate pot de creme. However, the marshmallows served with it where covered in again a ton of cinnamon--it should have been shaved or powdered chocolate instead (the French do not use cinnamon on everything!).- Although our waitress was very nice, she tended to disappear. We ordered our drinks before anything else, but we had already been served our onion rings appetizer and were eating it for a while without drinks ... And at the end of our meal, we waited and waited for her to pick up our card to finish paying, but she disappeared completely. If she had to leave, she could have told someone else to complete the check. We ended up getting another server to do it. (Still, we left full tip because we are nice.)I was tempted to reduce the number of stars to 2, but I will wait to see if next time the restaurant does better, although not sure we will come back ...

The caramelized onions with creamy goat cheese inside the super fluffy eggs, perfection! Home fries that came with the dish were so good! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with nice herbal flavor. Wish I could eat more of these but I was so full half way through.Boyfriend ordered the breakfast sandwich and he liked it too. However, we wish the bread was something other than burger buns. Buns to me are more like burgers (I think they have another dish called breakfast burger), so when we got the breakfast sandwich, we expected the bread was something like wheat toast, rye bread, or ciabatta (they have those breads).Overall experience was great and hopefully to come back here again next time when we are in town.
