Excellent food, excellent service. Large menu with great selections, made it very hard to choose on my first time there. Great prices for the portion I got.Im not in that area much but I will definitely stop by again whenever I am able.
Homemade soft cinnamon roll with lots of frosting is a winner! Fresh hash browns browned just right. Milkshakes made from hard ice cream. Perfectly made ice tea. Pie lovers will like their assortment of pies. Plenty of seating either in booths, at tables, or the counter. Pictures are of their cinnamon rolls and their vegetable omelet. This is rare at restaurants: 4 different flavors of jam, which were served with our choice of toast. Egg-based breakfasts are served all day. Pancakes & French toast ends at 11AM. They have take out as well. Bathrooms are clean and have hot & cold water. Visited Wednesday night April 7, 2021.
The service here was amazing and the food was great too. The placed seemed like it was comfortably busy and I got all the attention I needed. The waitress was very kind and attentive to the point that it stood out and you dont get that enough anymore hardly anywhere these days. Nice little spot and the food came out quick
Classic diner with a ton of pie options. Cant really go wrong but you should definitely try the BIG CHIEF. Menu listing says biscuit, sausage patty, hashbrowns & 2 eggs piled up and topped with country gravy. But in reality its just a large plate of deliciousness and will 100% knock you out afterwards.
Great service and quick turnaround time from order to table. The burger was one of the best I have had in the last few years. I will be adding this place to my post hike meal rotation.
This is a must stop for pie necessity! Their pies are delicious! So if you making the trip over Stevens Pass, stop in and enjoy! You will not be disappointed.

The food was delicious but the server we had gave us attitude and charged each of us more than she should have. When we asked for the itemized receipt (that she kept when we paid) she said You didnt keep it? Like no mlady, you kept it. She also said she couldnt reprint it for us. We spoke calmly and with respect and we just got attitude. Im still sad about it.
I looked up this Diner before we ate here and I saw they had 4.5 star rating, so we stopped. I wondered if they were going to live up to their stars, boy did they!!! My food was amazing I ordered a French dip and fries which by the way were amazing!! My partner got fish and chips he loved them. The service was fast and sweet. The waitress was happy and smiling, that’s important to me!!! Everyone that left here did so with a giant smile of satisfaction!! Get your eat on, great place!!!

Posted on another review site as well, but worth it put it here too. We stopped by as an alternative to a place further along on Hwy 2 that was closed that day. Glad we did. I asked a local guy getting out of his car if the place was any good. He said, youre not from around here are you? I guess locals love it for other reasons too, but we thought the food was excellent and the service outstanding. And yes, I am glad they are fully open. It was nice to see the smiling face of a server. We will be back when we are near Gold Bar.

I had the Montreal Burger with added grilled onions. It was quite good, and the fries were crispy and plentiful. The hot chocolate was good too.Humble, quiet little diner with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountainside. And quite a bit of food for a decent price. Id recommend if youre passing through.
We stopped by on our way back from Leavenworth and made it a point to come here ( after skipping the 59er diner). What can I say? I wish this place was closer! My chicken strips were delicious, the fries were plentiful and the pie is fantastic. Chocolate cream pie to die for!! The place did seem to be understaffed but the server was friendly and very upbeat ( there is a sign that warns and apologizes if the wait time is longer). I cant wait to drive back this way to try the breakfast and maybe a few slices of pie 😃 Come for the beautiful scenery stay for the pie?
Found this cozy diner on google and packed the kids in the car and the husband and drove 30 miles to try it. We ordered Breakfast and the French toast and sausage were delicious.Next time we trek down we are going to try there biscuits and gravy. and after reading some reviews a cinnamon roll too.prices were fair as well.

The usual fare for a diner. We were a group of 8 and took two table. Service was pretty quick and we enjoyed our meals.

We had gotten hungry in the last lot of miles and I said The Mountain View Diner is a few miles ahead. I had been there in years. It was as great as i remember. Do not get food from this restaurant. They cooked my take out order incorrectly because the blonde older waitress that works on weekends has a bad attitude and obviously hates her job, so therefore doesnt pay attention when taking an order. I return my order and ask for it to be made properly and she tries to have me hold on to the food that was made correctly while they fix what was wrong. I explained the rest of the food would be cold by the time everything else was done. She got all upset about me requesting my whole order be made correctly so we had fresh warm food to bring back home. They finish the order and I bring it back home to find that they just slapped the old food into new containers. My English muffin was soggy. My bacon was cold and soggy as well. I have had an issue with this restaurant before being upset that I requested something be remade. They should definitely not be open if this is how they are going to treat their paying customers. I am out $12 alone for the breakfast that I will not be eating because they just slapped new eggs on old food.
Big portions, old fashioned diner, rotating pie displayService was EXCELLENT. Waitress kept our water full.Covid: masks lax, no table distance, but youre out in a rural area. A outlet people at tables kept their masks up until their own food came.

So we decided to get take out from the diner tonight. Of course we cant call because they RARLEY answer the phone. So my husband drives up to order and sit and wait for our order. He gets home has 2 Mushroom Swiss burgers add bacon in stead of 1 and a Goldrush burger no veggies. So I guess hes picking off the mushrooms . Because I tried to call to say they got the order wrong and guess what they still arent answering the phone. Oh and arent restaurant staff still supposed to be wear face coverings like schools and medical places.Again no big suprize they didnt wear maskes and severed people in side when it was full on mask and pick up or deliver only at all food places, no indoor dining.

We called in early evening following a hike to Lake Blanca, the staff were very friendly, the menu extensive and choice of bar or table/booth seating. Of note was the cabinet in the middle of the dining area containing a wide selection of desert options - all handmade daily. While considering going straight for the sweets we were glad we ordered a burger as they were top notch! Fresh ingredients, made with love. The staff called on us several times, made sure we had everything we needed and struck up conversation on our days activities. Look forward to trying some cold sandwiches or brunch next time

Got a burger and chicken wrap. The burger was juicy filling. The wrap was bigger then I thought it would be and the crispy chicken was really good. The fries had a great crispness to them. Recommend this place.

We have eaten there for years and the food is absolutely wonderful. However, there is a server there who is absolutely rude, this is not Kristi. Kristi is THE BEST. I have decided that when I go in and the other woman is working I will turn around and go elsewhere.

This is my go-to restaurant when coming back from a climbing trip at Index or Leavenworth. It is clean, affordable, and delicious. They have great breakfast and lunch/dinner. The staff is great as well. I would highly recommend it.

Great location right off highway 2 in Gold Bar. The food here is really good, fresh, and great menu selection. The view is absolutely amazing, and the staff are on point and friendly. Dont pass this gem by. I would go here if I was looking for food in Gold bar.

Very slow serviceFood was good, decent prices. But she was training a waitress. Which is good, but you still have to pay attention to customers. Waited 5 minutes to order. Mind you at this point we were the only customers, other than two gentleman who were leaving. Food came quickly and was hot. Again busy training, finally got attention for extra napkins. Finished our meal. Did not check back on us. Both waitresses were gone. Waited ten minutes and finally got her attention and asked for box.Would have given 5 stars, but part of being a good waitress is paying attention to your customers...a good training waitress would know that and would pass that on to the ones shes training.

Just get out of the city we drew E highway 2 and stopped at Mountain View diner. Very clean. Excellent friendly service. I don’t remember here name but the tall blue eyed woman with dark hair made us laugh. We tried the fresh blueberry cobbler heated with vanilla ice cream- great. Gathering place for the locals their plates were tempting. We will go back
I’ll start by saying I have heard nothing but amazing things about Mountain View diner and their food. My wife and I drove an hour out of our way to try it on a Sunday morning. The woman at the front counter was so rude it was shocking. I walk in and stand there, she barks: “NAME!?” So I tell her. I stand around for ten minutes and then she asks me if I was next up. Why would I know that? Why did I give you my name? Is there no system in place? I have to remember what spot I’m in like an honor system with the other patrons? The woman continued to be rude throughout our entire meal, since she was also our waitress. The only time she seemed polite was when I paid my bill...The food was very good, as I expected. Customer service needs work, badly. They weren’t even that busy so there really was no excuse.
DO NOT EAT HERE... they are super racist. My husband, our 3 year old toddler and I went there for breakfast. The moment we walk in the lady said it’s going to be a wait but it wasn’t full at all. Finally she said the booth in the corner was open. Our toddler run over there so we just sat down. The people just walk around no menu, no waters. Then these two white older man came in and the walk them to the table right next to us and ask do they want coffee or waters. My husband was like are we not going to get service and I told him let just leave and get breakfast somewhere else. When we got up and walk to the front door the lady was like I was going to come over there. But we all knew they didn’t want us there. So don’t waste your money or time at this place.
We’ve stopped here occasionally on trips to east side over the years. But today we stopped for a to go order, to use facilities, and were stunned at the staff and cooks not following health guidelines. No masks. No bandanas. No shields.
Do not go here. I calmly told the waitress that I had been waiting 43 minutes for my food. Instead of dealing with the situation properly she said were busy, you got eyes dont you? At that point I wouldnt eat the food even if it was free.The diner filled with people after I had placed my order. She falsely argued they have cameras to show they were at capacity before I was there, but that was a blatant lie. Instead of escalating this and dealing with the cops, I just paid and left without the food. The Manager was supposedly cooking at the time. As a local, I plan on spreading the word about this place to everyone in the valley.
The service is great. Old style environment. The food is amazing. Love to eat the Bigfoot burger. Its something to try on your way threw. Take out or dine in. The Bigfoot burger is amazing its huge and worth the 10. The biscuits and gravy are always dank to eat in the morning, some bacon and eggs. Love it there. We showed up 10 minutes before close if that and they let us eat. Steaks were excellent. The waitress entertained our 3 year old though he was super hyper. Everyone there was great. Definitely go back if Im that way again.
