Easily the nicest people I’ve met, not sure why the whole world can be like them! Very informative, willing to listen and just a overall fantastic experience. 1st time there today still a newbie at fishing and I just can’t thank them enough! Would send my grandma to them! We decided late in day to go fishing around 5:30pm and our bait and tackle place in Wantagh was already closed. Freeport Bait and tackle was the only place open and only about 10 min away so we gladly took a ride. Very helpful and attentive staff.

My favorite tackle shop. Extremely friendly family. Helps you with whatever you need. Store is always fully stocked. I used to go to sea isle, also in Freeport. The store is half empty. Hardly any tackle in stock. The owner of sea isle doesnt even crack one smile. The difference is night and day between Sea isle and freeport bait and tackle.

This place is a rip off. Stopped by a couple of weeks ago. A partially filled pint container of clams was $9.00 and a bag of ice was $5.00. Should have stopped by the 7-11 around the corner. First and last time.

The man working during our visit was very informative and helpful. He did not try to pressure us to buy more than we needed. He knew the waters that we planned on fishing (we did not as it was our first time fishing in the area), and gave us multiple helpful tips that led to a successful day of fishing. I do plan on going back and would definately recommend

I have recently been a supporter of local bait and tackle shops, and this is how my encounter went with Freeport’s. Upon entrance, you are greeted, and your needs are met right away with plenty of options.. just ask away. I was looking for a light surf rod, and staff had the decency to showcase what they had to compare everything out on the table. Eventually we both found a surf rod we both really liked, which was a super nice and new lamiglas. I really liked how the staff were open to your questions and concerns, as well as offering their advice and reports in their area. Their prices are market price, so there’s no cheating you, just honest selling. They’ve got loads of cool stuff around as well, and they’ve got some of the new stuff in stock . I highly recommend this spot and I thank the staff there for making my visit a great one.

Best place on Long Island to buy tackle, gear, and all sorts of fresh and frozen bait. As for tackle they have at least one of anything you can think of. Family owned and operated for 30 + years they will bend over backwards to get you what you need. And, cheaper than anyone around.Best of all, they are open very late for night fishing. This family is awesome. They have doc space out back as well.

This guy over charge everything. I always buy two fresh bunkers with $3 but he changed me $4.75 for two bunkers that’s $1.75 more. That’s insane.

They answered all questions i.had and helped give tips 4 fishing.
