We love this little bait shop. The owners/operators are really nice folks and work hard to provide good bait. They even seek out bait in places pretty far away just to keep customers supplied.

We would like to post a bad review for this store. The guy in the store showed us large and firm to touch shrimps and told us those are very fresh shrimps for eating. We bought around 20lb together and put in the coolers with ice. When we got home，we found more than half of them are mushy. We‘ve been staying in Texas for more than 20 year. This is the only dishonest seller we‘ve met. Really upset

Stay away from here if you are serious about fishing. I only buy bait from Saltgrass if all the other bait camps are out. The first thing to hit you when you enter is the smell. Its the smell of death. The holding tanks are served by brackish water from the marsh behind the store so they dont get a constant supply of fresh salt water. The water in the tanks is nasty. As a result dead loss is significantly higher than the other bait camps.

Great boat launch with easy access to the Gulf. also a great bunch of people working at this I have had the opportunity to meet everybody who works here. A bunch of great people who are willing to help you out and give you pointers.Theyre bait is priced just as everyone else in the area.and as far as some of the bad reviews that have been posted I have no idea why anyone would say anything bad about this group of great people.I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a day out fishing and with good fresh bait!!

If only 0 star was an option. Terrible staff that lacks any respect for their customers and provides even worse service. Stay away from this place and drive on to the next bait shop!

Nice little store. When I went they didnt take credit cards that day so I paid cash.

Extremely small shrimps, cant even stay on tremble hook. Walk in store and make me feel like I beg you to sell bait? Went to next bait shop by shell station to buy another pint of shrimp, excellent size, very nice person. Sorry Saltgrass, you wont have my business any more.

This is my first stop every time I go to Surfside to go fishing. The bait depends on the time of day you get there and what time the boats come in. The people are always great there and provide great customer service for bait shop. Dont forget to leave something in the tip jar for these people. They work hard at what they do and its not what you would consider always a pretty job to have but they do it well.

If you go there pass 7 am there is no more bait whats the point.

The people working there are always nice and friendly and very helpful. They have a huge parking lot for turning a vehicle around thats pulling a trailer. They also have a good assortment of bait.

THIS BAIT CAMP IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE BAR & GRILL RESTAURANT!!! This is a great bait and tackle shop and has boat ramps, Ice, live and dead bait, snacks, off shore, etcBut it is not a Texas Chain offering food and drinks - someone has mixed this company up with Salt Grass Steak house.....

We were not sure what bait to use so we asked and everyone was very helpful

This is a great fishing bait camp finally got the STREET VIEW photo corrected This business still has NO CONNECTION to meaty menus, full bars, or anything to do with steakhouses....

The owner, Michael mills, is a registered sex offender! He got caught with a 7 year old and a 12 year old. They keep deleting my comments off Facebook because they don’t want people to know. Do NOT send your business here, much less your kids! They will lie to you but all you have to do is google his name and his history pops up.
